Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Balder had been confused when Thor called for a meeting in the banquet hall. The tone had been rather serious. Did his brother have grim news? Brother... he was still getting used to that title despite his already close friendship with Thor. They were brothers by blood and yet raised unknowing of their true kinship for so long, and yet, Thor did not treat him much differently than before. Though, he was seeing more and more of his brother.
Thor had not even delivered the message personally that day. His older brother had been busy all morning refusing any visitors until he would emerge for the meeting.
Balder, in a hopeful mood, was one of the first to arrive, sitting down quietly and watching for any hint at what this audience was all about.
(OOC: Thor is also joining in on this one. Asgardians wanted!)

There was no breakfast served that morning for he had called the attention of the cooks all day, prepping his masterpiece inside of the kitchens, though as far as everyone had known the servants had taken a holiday. Or rather, they did as Thor wanted no leaks of his work getting out.
The scent of bread, meat, and spices were melting out of the direction to the kitchens, sweeping down the halls and into their empty bellies. Thor had a very special meal planned for his attendees, a delicacy from Midgard that he hoped would revolutionize the culinary scene in Asgard. At the very least, he was highly excited to introduce all that he had been learning during his time in Midgard. Surely, there were many great battles to boast of, conquests against giants and heroic titans of that realm, but at his simplest Thor simply wanted to share a meal with those he loved, talk of lighter things before they moved onto the reality at hand.
He burst through the main doors, beaming at those who had decided to attend the feast. The excitement on his face was apparent as he moved forth to greet his guests with a hearty hug. "FRIENDS! BROTHERS!" he started, darting between them, "Oh! It has been so long since I've seen you last!"
"I hope you are all hungered, for I have prepared a special feast for you today. Delicacies from the realm of Midgard!" he raised his arms up as the food poured in and was set onto the table by the servers. The meal was set out much like an assembly line, what Thor would describe to them as a buffet. Freshly baked half-sliced bread rolls lay at the start of the table, followed by small sausages he called 'hotdogs' but he assured them were not made from the meat of canines. Next lay an assortment of condiments: ketchup, mustards of various blends, relish, saur kraut, crisps of potatoes, chili, and more. The intent was clear, they would be assembling their own plate from start to finish. "Everything is delicious, I assure you." he quickly gathered his hotdog onto his plate, garnishing it with a stockpile of chili, cheeses, and onion. "This version of the hotdog is called a chili dog." he took a hearty bite, smiling while he chewed. ϟ Tag: BALDER, OPEN-- COME JOIN! | Words: 408 | Lyrics: Thor Quote | Outfit: Thortire | Notes: This thread is totally open and just because its a little silly silly doesn't mean it won't go anywhere later. *hint hint*[/div] [/style]

Odin had to admit that he was rather curious and a bit frustrated at his son's beckoning to the dining hall. First of all, Odin hadn't gotten to eat the first meal of the day and whenever he missed out on breakfast, Frigga said he was "grumpy".
He did not think so, usually, but today as he was not allowed to enter neither the kitchens nor the dining hall until Thor allowed it, Odin could understand why Frigga called him grumpy.
He had already scolded two servants and a guard, but he was trying to keep his temper in-check. After all, it was his eldest boy's "surprise". He may as well try to at least be amused.
Odin, accompanied by two of his guards, walked briskly into the dining hall to see many other Asgardians gathered there. He held up a hand to let the guards know they needed not follow him further before he sat down next to his youngest son, Balder.
"If your brother does not make haste, I may have to remove his head," Odin said to Balder with a smile. It was a joke, but there was also a legitimate threat to it.
As if on cue, Thor burst from the kitchen doors, followed by a parade of servants that laid out dishes filled with food. Odin watched the ensemble curiously, feeling his mouth water at the smell of the deliciousness on the table.
Before Thor could finish demonstrating or speaking, Odin had risen from the table in order to make himself a plate. He did not care that the servants were not doing their jobs. He was merely famished and that drove the god to act quickly.
Eyeing Thor's creation, Odin worked to mimic the hot dog, only he piled on high all of the condiments he could. As he sat back down, he finally got a good look of what he was going to eat, and scrunched his nose.
"Thor... are you making a habit out of learning Midgardian culinary skills? Such a strange combination of colors." He picked up the sloppy dog and looked at it strangely. He was unsure of what he was seeing, at first. There was the white dice of onions and something called "catsup"- which, as Odin's mind was no longer clouded by hunger, he hoped the strange red liquid was not the blood of felines. Then there was a tart yellow fluid and green goop that dribbled out of the end of the bread boat that the meat tube was sitting in.
Suddenly, Odin didn't feel quite so hungry. He looked up at Thor devouring the food item and then back down at the hot dog on his plate. Where was the bone? Where were the whole, steamed vegetables and the bunches of grapes? There was not even a slaughtered beast on the table!
Such disgrace. Such horror. How dare Thor bring Midgardian culture to corrupt Asgard! Odin looked up at his eldest and attempted a smile. But... Thor was so joyful. It was difficult to react so violently to something that did seem rather... trivial.
Instead of grumbling (after all, perhaps he was just grumpy), Odin sighed and resigned himself to taking a bite of the hot dog. An explosion of flavor erupted in his mouth and his eye went wide.
"By Bor's beard! This is enchanting!" He bellowed, smacking one hand down on the table. He looked at Thor. "Since when have you learned to wield such magic, my boy? Is this the sorcery of Midgard!"

There was always an odd air about coming from Midgard to Asgard - there was a sensation; a feeling in the air that ran through his body. It was the realisation that, yes, he was home - no matter the universe nor timepool, Asgard always looked so familiar, so right. It caused a smile as he walked the halls, watching memories that played by of his youth - memories that hadn't yet come true. His hand stroked across the markings and the fabrics, thinking, remembering. That was odd, too, remembering the future. It was an insight to events still to come, yet not entirely assured.
He didn't know what would happen in the universe, in truth - what brought him here were the Infinity Gem, which he had made sure to keep safe and out the way. Thor from his time had been very assured, do not let the pair come into close proximity of one another, else risk the time paradox that would incur. He had no intention to disappoint his father - only to try and make him proud. This was that opportunity. As he walked the halls, he could hear noise coming from the wing of the great hall - a place he too knew so well.
It was to be known now, to all of Asgard, the great hall was not a place of unrest or displeasure; it was a place of solitude and sanctuary, where the food and the mead would flow, and no man nor woman would bring their troubles. They were left at the door, and those who entered were protected, allowed to dine and drink, relax and laugh, until the time came they had to return to their every day issues. But today Magni had no issues, nor any troubles, only nerves as he heard voices.
These were voices he had heard so much of, but never by his own ear - he stopped at the door, and listened. The soft tones of what must have been his grandmother, Frigga, a gentle, dancing voice that could lull even the most restless child off into a state of slumber. The other was deep, booming, commanding - that must have been the All-Father himself. While Thor of his own world may have been the All-Father, Thor had always talked so highly of Odin - of his pride, his power, his knowledge of the nine, and his leadership of Asgard.
Magni didn't dare enter just yet; he wanted this to last, just a little longer. They didn't realise he was there, and for the moment, he was okay with that - he could hear his grandparents being just themselves, for the first time. He closed his eyes, and chuckled quietly - his father was certainly like Odin, perhaps not in all ways, but there were similarities. Like hunger. His eyes falling open, Magni pressed against the wooden door and stepped inside, walking carefully into the great hall.
He gazed around himself for a moment - the world he recognised most gripping him tight, he was home - before his eyes fell, looking over those in the hall. His father, sat with a chili dog, smiling and ever amused by such food. And then, his uncle - he hadn't the chance to know Balder in his timeline; this was a step he might be able to take. And finally, his grandparents, whom he spent most time looking at. It wasn't what he expected, but his smile was wide, bowing his head slightly.
"All-Father, All-Mother. It is on my honour to finally meet you both."
