Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Sure it was a large metropolitan area full of crime and villains alike, especially in that other world that he had brought home with him. But it still didn't have that gritty darkness that his beloved Gotham had. Not yet at least. The bright lights of the city were indeed pretty, but Joker always took more comfort in the inky shadows of Gotham then the glitzy lights of a city, because even in Gotham the lights always seemed to dull, or so he liked to fancy the thought. But since he had the chance, the clown was planning to make New York just as dark as Gotham. Aggressive expansion, he loved it. The clown had made his name in Gotham, oh he had done it so well that just the mention would send an uncomfortable shiver down a person's spine, would make someone look over their shoulder and prey the bogeyman didn't come their way. Because oh he was the bogeyman, let no one mistake him for anything different, and he wanted to bring his brand of fun to the Big Apple, turn some of those lights out, take something so pretty and make it as dark and disturbed as himself and the place he came from. The clown was skipping as he went, humming a little tune that just seemed to pop into his head at the most random of moments, shaking a can of RAID as he went because he had heard the city had a bug problem lately, on top of everything else. Spiders, ew. Even he didn't like spiders, too many legs, too many eyes, too hairy. Joker liked to catch spiders and pull their legs off one by one because he disliked the creatures themselves so much. Nasty nasty things. But he was prepared if he ran into the giant neighborhood spider, though he was much more interested in the pretty redhead he had spotted a few blocks back and had been following ever since. She was that supermodel pretty, the kind that was extra fun to ruin, oh the way they broke when you messed up those pretty faces. Slipping the can of bug spray back into his pocket he instead pulled out a small knife, juggling it between his hands as he turned down another alley, sped up and appeared at the end of hers, "Wellll hello there beautiful," Joker skipped towards her, twirling the knife in his fingers, "What's ahhh pretty girl like you doing in a place like this?" He leaned against the brick side of a building, "Don't you know that ahhh, there's some bad bad baaaaad men that come out at night?" Joker tsked, mock worry painting his features just as haphazardly as the clown make up on his face. [style=padding: 0px 10px; font-size: smaller;] Tag: MJ! She just knew it. It was sundown, the lights of New York city lit up Mary-Jane’s eyes as she hurried along the busy streets. She wanted to be home before the night came; ever since Mad Dog had come along she had been terrified of walking alone at night. Even in the day it was unnerving. He was stalking her, just waiting for his chance to pounce. Wrapping her long coffee coloured coat closer around her slender body, Mary-Jane glanced over her shoulder as she turned down a more secluded street.
The actress had avoided all the short-cuts she normally took to get home because it would mean walking down more streets like this. It was quieter and darker around here, less lights to brighten up the road. There didn't seem to be anyone behind her, and she let out a sigh of relief. Perhaps she was being paranoid. It came as a shock to the poor redheaded model as a deranged looking man suddenly appeared in front of her.
She let out a gasp and clutched the rim of her coat closer to her. "Wellll hello there beautiful." He was covered in clown face paint, but it was smudged and tattered as if he’d had one too many the night before and forgotten to take it off. There was also a scar across his lips and around his mouth. He skipped towards her, twirling the knife in his fingers. "What's ahhh pretty girl like you doing in a place like this?" He leaned against the brick side of a building as he continued to watch her. "Don't you know that ahhh, there's some bad bad baaaaad men that come out at night?" ’Ya mean like you, clown-boy?’ She replied trying to sound calmer than she felt, motioning toward the knife still twirling carelessly between his fingers. ’Whatcha think you’re doing, sneaking around at this time at night on strangers, especially with that make-up on your face.’ She felt annoyed at the world. Surely not, not again, it was bad enough knowing Mad Dog was still walking the streets let alone this guy too. Just made it all the more fun when he finally snuffed it out, hmm maybe he did have a problem? The clown just seemed to have this terrible habit of breaking all the pretty thing he found, he took such a deliciously sick enjoyment out of tarnishing beauty like this. He really was just a bad, bad man, the clown simply couldn't wait to break this pretty pretty red head, he wondered if she would fight until the very end, had to wonder what it would look like when that fire finally left her eyes. Well, he did love it when they put up a good fight, made them all the more memorable as far as he was concerned, made it all the more fun for him. God the clown was just itching to sink a knife into that pretty skin, models were always the most fun, they fought back the hardest to save their pretty faces, he liked teaching them that vanity was a nasty little sin though. And he liked to think himself a great teacher, after all, he had taught the whole of Gotham what it was to fear again, to fall to their knees in front of a madman at his call. Maybe he'd let this one live after he was done with her, if she was strong enough to survive, maybe maybe maybe, The purple clad man clicked his tongue behind his teeth at the thought, looking her over with a grin typically found on the monster in a child's nightmare, the grin of the thing under your bed right before it grabbed your ankles and pulled you under. A laugh that could raise the hairs on the back of someone's neck left him, more like a cackle really, the type of sound that made someone want to wince away from it, "Me? Why I'm positively......harmless," Mock innocence, it was just downright scary coming out of him. The grin widened, showing yellowed teeth behind the haphazardly red painted lips, humming a little tune he stepped closer to the red head, wasn't she so bold? He was trailing the tip of the knife along the side of the concrete building as he walked, the sound of the scraping complimented the little tune in his head as far as he was concerned, "Ah-ah-ah, you never answered my question," He stopped short, waved the knife around, "You......you don't like it?" Joker motioned to the makeup on his face, eyebrows knitting together as he pretended to be hurt by the comment, "How about you come here and give me some help then? Ahhhh pretty, pretty girl like you should have some good tips, and then maybe I could give you a few of mine in return," Joker laughed and grabbed at her, if he got his hands on her, well tonight would be all the more fun then. She’d known it the moment she’d looked at him; this man was dangerous. There was a glint in his eyes, a terrifying one she’d only seen once before. Mad Dog had looked at her like that, and not until tonight had she suddenly realised the terrible danger she was in. This couldn’t be a coincidence surely? Or maybe it was, and she was just a girl that was always in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The stranger smirked and continued to stare at greedily, his eyes going up and down as he clicked his tongue between his teeth. He seemed to be contemplating something and though she knew she should run and never look back, Mary-Jane was rooted on the spot, unnerved and fear bubbling in the pit of her stomach. Her heart had begun to pick up pace as he laughed manically. It was uncontrollable, almost hysterical yet completely humourless. She jumped a little and clung onto her bag a little tighter.
"Me? Why I'm positively......harmless," he replied mockingly, his grin widening to show his yellowed teeth. MJ shook her head, hardly believing this was happening again as she took another step back. Her eyes moved to the sound of metal running along the cool hard stone and she quickly averted her eyes back to the man’s, her heart beat pounding in her ears. She could see the hunger in his eyes, that need to kill like a wild animal. ’Listen, why – why don’t you and your little friend there skip off home and leave me in peace? I’m really no fun anyway, trust me.’ "Ah-ah-ah, you never answered my question," He stopped short, and waved the knife around, "You......you don't like it?" Mary-Jane frowned a little but did not reply, trying to choose her words carefully. The man then motioned to the makeup on his face, eyebrows knitting together as he pretended to be hurt by the comment, "How about you come here and give me some help then? Ahhhh pretty, pretty girl like you should have some good tips, and then maybe I could give you a few of mine in return," Then with a sudden movement, he lunged at her making Mary-Jane scream. She dropped her bag in the process and the contents fell to the floor, including keys, phone, make-up and a script. ’Get off me!’ She screamed, both terrified and angry. ’How about you let me go of me and you slink off into oblivion, yeah?’[/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAGGED: The Joker WORDS: 435 NOTES: Love your Joker so much!! <333 Such good characterisation!
