Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

His ring indicated that an energy signature close to what he had read from his cat in the area, though pretty much every small animal seemed to match what limited information he had to go off of. It was annoying, to say the least, especially since he was certain he had seen his kitten the day before. Unfortunately, at that time, he had been interrupted by the sudden arrival of Wonder Woman, who had wanted to check whether or not he was really a good guy.
Something they both had needed some clarification on.
He hadn’t been able to return to his search that day, as their course had lead them to stop a terrorist attack on a hotel. Actually, he still hadn’t fully recovered from the incident, but at least it seemed as though the curse that had been placed on him was wavering somewhat. Perhaps it dissipated with time, or he was somehow over coming it with his will power. Either way, it had been placed to keep any kind of magic or energy, like his ring, from healing his wounds. But his ring was indeed healing him now, albeit more slowly than he would have liked.
It irritated him that he still had to deal with more pain when he had so much work to do. Stupid work. Finding a cat behind dumpster work. Honestly, why was he even bothering? The damn creature had probably died shortly after it had become lost. Someone like him, a former master of fear, didn’t need to be concerned about something as helpless and worthless as a kitten.
… but he wanted to find it anyway.
Slowly, he peered behind a dumpster, investigating the area his ring indicated the small creature might be. If it was another massive rat, he was going to be highly annoyed. Unable to see anything from his angle, he sighed, straightening himself up again.
Using his ring, he lifted the dumpsters from their spot near a chain link fence at the back of the street, holding them in the air to get a better view of the area. From what he could see, there was nothing around, but that couldn’t have been true. His ring didn’t lie, and it was never wrong when it came to detecting lifeforms. So the creature was simply hiding somewhere nearby, probably frightened by all the noise he was making.
“Sora,” he called lowly, as though he didn’t actually want to be heard by anyone, “are you here? … not that you could answer me, because most cats don’t talk…” He only knew one that could, and only because its red ring actually made it smarter rather than making it dumber as they did with everyone else. Rage- a stupid fuel for a ring to use, in Sinestro’s mind.
But he was certainly feeling the emotion as his search continued to seem futile.

I'm going to have to get myself a new job. Preferably one with benefits, and where I don't have to wear pants. New York, you're killing me!
Peter swung through the city looking for a bad guy to bust, the problem was, there was no bad guy TO bust. It was a slow day in the life of a superhero, which probably was a good thing, but it was not something Peter was used to much less experience for himself. With all the new heroes from the new universe business had been slow. The only thing Peter had been able to pin on anyone was a pair of litterers down by 5th avenue. I should just call it a night and use that time to read a book or something...
It was then that he heard a clamoring of trash cans in an alley about a few buildings away from his apartment. Peter's spidey senses alerted him to the noise and he zipped to the source of the sound. He approached the upturned trash carefully, unknowing of what would come out of there. A pair of glowing yellow eyes met him in the dark and Peter jumped. Then a kitten crawled out of the garbage and mewed. "D'awww...Hey little guy, are you hungry?" he picked up the kitten and ruffled its fur a bit. It was cute. It was a shame the little guy didn't have a home.
That's when Peter's ears honed in on another noise, this time belonging to an alien source. He repelled upside-down with his feet holding him to the webline. Sora was in his arms comfortably.
"Normally I don't do this saving kitties from trees thing, but its been a slow day so I'm going to- woah. Dude, you're red." Well, Peter was wearing red too, but it wasn't his SKIN.
Sora mewed.
"Shhh, D'Artagnon. Papa's busy."

Or was it a man? Small man. Boy, perhaps. In any case, he was wearing a skin tight suit, much like his own, but it was red and seemed to have a rather strange symbol on it. Not one from a corp he had ever seen before- and he knew all of them. So this guy was clearly not someone associated with his group, though he could have figured as much from the mask and the weird rope he seemed to be hanging from. Some kind of webbing, if he had any knowledge of earthly objects.
Not something a human should be using, all things considered. But he really didn’t have much time to wonder about that- the soft meowing in the man’s arms stole his attention almost instantly.
The small kitten, white with black spots, was exactly the creature he had spent the past couple of days looking for, and he knew immediately that it was Sora. She wiggled in the arms of the stranger, purring merrily when she spotted Sinestro. As she tried to get over to him, she meowed excitedly, which only made Sinestro secretly pleased. He had been concerned, mildly, that she might have been frightened of him after the things that had happened.
Luckily, that didn’t look to be the case.
“That creature is a female,” he informed the strange man, “and her name is Sora- she is my pet.” He sounded more like he was giving a lesson than showing gratitude towards the other for finding his cat. Maybe he was a little bitter he had spent so long hunting her, only to be showed up by someone else right at the finish line.
“If you would be so kind as to return her to me,” he said faintly, extending an impatient hand. He had never made any comment to being called red. Considering the other colors on the spectrum he could have been called, it was still a compliment. This Thread

"Hmph! I'm a gentleman and respected her privacy." Spider-Man countered simply at guessing the kitten's gender wrongly. Sora seemed to mew in agreement. He eyed the red alien's hand. What, did he think he was just going to hand the little innocent ball of fluff over? Not that Peter could keep any pets in his apartment. Though the little kitty was practically wiggling every muscle trying to get over to Sinestro, who was probably the strangest stranger Peter had ever met. She dug her little claws into the ends of Peter's mask and began to pull downward (but only far enough to expose his neck). "Gah! Not nice, kitty!" Pete now held her by the scruff and huffed. Mean kitty. What was it about cats always trying to sneak a peek under his suit?
"She says you're okay so, here ya go. Courtesy of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. See ya, little dude." Peter inched to plop Sora into Sinestro's hands and set her comfortably into the alien's palm, giving her one last ruffling. "I think I'm more of a dog person anyways."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/bluemiddle.png] Sinestro was happy to have his cat returned to him, looking down at Sora for a moment. He felt like telling her off- how day she go missing for so long, with no word on how he might find her! But then he remembered that she was just an animal and had no real idea that she had even done anything displeasing. She had been scared and alone and had wanted to hide- that was all that had registered in her tiny kitten brain. But it seemed her brain had stopped worrying now, the small creature purring with an engine that was much too large for such a small frame. Slowly, she climbed up his arm, sitting herself on his shoulder so she could rub his face and purr into his sensitive, pointy ears.
Oh yeah, he was glad to have her back.
But he couldn’t keep all his focus on the cat- there was still a very strange human standing in front of him. He didn’t seem a rage-fueled monster, so that crossed red lantern off the list. He had actually called himself Spider-man. He knew about earth spiders- many humans were afraid of them, so of course he had researched what they were. Tiny, unimposing little bugs with mighty powers in their own rights. Sinestro had to wonder why this human would call himself such a thing, especially since he looked like nothing more than a normal human in a weird costume.
Sinestro used his ring to create a massive construct of a spider, which stood behind Spider-man and let out a faint hissing-like noise, tip-toeing in place like a real spider might. It looked impossibly real, despite being green, with details down to its tiny hairs.
“You don’t look much like a spider to me,” he observed, “are you supposed to be some kind of a hero or something? Is finding cats the highlight of your afternoon?” The spider sprang at Peter, though only because Sinestro was curious and very poor at making conversation.
