Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Her efforts to get SHIELD to take notice of her had yet to prove fruitful, but the brunette was not one to give up so easily.
Amber was settling into a routine at Stark Tower as her responsibilities continued to progress with the passing weeks, taking great pride in the fact that Pepper had come to trust her with so many things despite her youth. There were still the odd glares and muttered words to contend with when she passed certain people in the building, but she was able to shrug those off quickly enough. After all, it wouldn't do for her to take anything those people said to heart. They didn't matter. In the grand scheme of things, none of them really mattered. All there was to do was deal with the task at hand and hope that she didn't end up being killed in the process of doing her job. There had been quite enough of that happening in her family as of late.
It had been long enough since the invasion that most people assumed Amber would be over the death of her father by now. And for the most part, she was. She knew it was absolutely pointless to sit around and brood all day about the time that had been stolen from them, knowing that he would never again come to visit her and leave rather suddenly on another unplanned "business trip" when in fact he was going out to save the world. There would never come a day when he would sit her down and explain exactly what it was that kept him away for so long and the dangers of his job. And there was no way for them ever to become the father-daughter team she had once dreamed up in her head. All of that was a figment of her imagination at this point, leaving Amber to continue on with life as if nothing had really changed. She had her own job to accomplish now, even if working for Pepper was only intended to be a stepping stone on her way to something bigger. Tony knew the truth, though why he hadn't exposed her to Pepper yet was beyond her...
With most people now out of the building for the evening, Amber had chosen to remain behind for just a little while longer so that she could put the files from the meeting that day back into their proper place, creating an order that would let her begin the next day with ease. Pepper had gone off somewhere for the evening, probably with Tony she would assume, and wouldn't return to the office until long after Amber had arrived back the following day. And that left the young woman to continue the research she had wanted to do for a while, in the safety of a place that wouldn't pose any kind of security risk. Her father's laptop had been found at the house shortly after SHIELD had come to tell Amber and her mother the news of his death, with files containing information about each of the members of the Avengers team. She had quickly become rather fascinated with all of the data they had compiled over the years, looking at details that most people were probably not aware of because they had been so well hidden. It was funny how such information reminded her of the name that her father had had changed in the government system...a name that Tony had been able to locate with relative ease.
Sitting herself down at Pepper's desk, Amber opened up the laptop and watched it flash back into life at the exact page she had been reading before. Since he had been the one to come into the park and make contact with her just after she moved to New York, Amber had become rather interested in Clint Barton and the protective nature that he had shown her initially. He'd made it clear that he wasn't supposed to be there, but he had come anyway at the risk of SHIELD finding out after ordering everyone who possibly knew about Coulson's family to keep their distance unless otherwise instructed. He seemed rather like her father, she had learned as she read through the file carefully. There was a slight age difference, yes, and Clint was an expert archer while her father was not (at least as far as she was aware), but perhaps the most interesting fact that she read about was his partnership with Natasha Romanov, the former Russian spy who had been appropriately codenamed "Black Widow." The two of them shared a rather interesting dynamic because of how she had come to work as a SHIELD agent, and from browsing through the other profiles, it looked as if Clint was the more reasonable thinker in their group. "Maybe some of that will rub off on me," she muttered to herself. "Then I'll know what to do next."

Shield hadn't been taking notice of her because thats what he had wanted. He wanted her to have a life away from this, the violence. Even if it meant away from him. It was better that way. Wasn't it his duty as a father, to keep her safe?
Though it seemed everything had changed. Coulson had been keeping tabs on Amber, he knew much to his wishes to be left alone by shield that she was working for Stark and Pepper. He knew they would keep her safe, that hopefully Tony would not involve her in the affairs of the Avengers. Even though it was the cause that he 'died' for. He Trusted Stark, deep down regardless of the past. They both knew Stark was a good man.
Coulson was well aware that it was after business hours, that the building would be practically empty as he walked the halls. His own foot steps echoing against the floor and through the halls. Everything had changed, ever since that day. He'd been living as a ghost to the world since his recovery. His calm nature remained the same, regardless of the fact he knew why he was here. What he was hoping to accomplish. Due to some rather impressive hacking skills before even getting out of the car, Coulson knew that his daughter was in Pepper's office. Jarvis had also been kind enough to inform him that it was his laptop she had open and placed on the desk.
But he knew that already.
He was never one to show fear, even though he felt it. All the time. It was a driving force in his life it seemed. Even in the moments like on the way to Thor's hammer in Nevada. The situation was completely under control. Just two simple thugs. It was the unknown that was a cause for fright. He didn't know if his tricks would have worked. When he faced down the Demi-god with a gun that may not have even worked. He was afraid, but it his ability to over come that fear was made Phill the very man he was.
He placed his hand against the door for a moment before opening it, seeing his daughter sitting at the desk, the glow of the laptop illuminating her face.
"Hey, Kiddo."

The number of files contained on the computer seemed to be endless, each one specific to an individual or event and coupled with both written facts and video feed to document everything of importance. There was even a file about the tesseract that had been in the possession of SHIELD before Loki's invasion, at which point an entire base had been destroyed because of the amount of energy being emitted and the magic that Loki had used to keep himself from harm. It noted that when he had initially arrived, both Clint Barton and Erik Selvig had been somehow controlled by the Asgardian, aiding in his escape. But what she found to be the most interesting piece of information was how the situation had been handled afterward, when Agent Romanov had been sent out to contact Doctor Bruce Banner, and her own father had come to speak with Tony Stark himself. Well, that certainly explained Tony's initial reaction when he had hacked into the old file and discovered her surname.
Amber ran a hand over her face as she leaned back in the chair a little, a soft sigh falling from her lips as she tried to regain her focus and absorb all of the information that was in the file for Bruce Banner. Expert in gamma radiation...experiment gone wrong...big green monster...she knew this much already. People didn't just get angry and turn into massive creatures of a different shade who could level an entire city in a matter of minutes when provoked. She remembered there being an incident a little while ago when the Hulk had been set on a rampage through part of New York, stopped only when Agent Romanov and SHIELD stepped in to calm him once the drugs wore off. Apparently there had been another villain responsible for the drugs that had been found in his system, a sadistic clown who went by the moniker of the Joker. He was known for being Batman's enemy over in Gotham City, rarely seen outside the city limits as he toyed around with the Batman to see just how many times he could be caught. It was like a game to him, from what she could see. He didn't care how many people he hurt, what he did or how dangerous he was to the rest of the world. All he wanted was the attention of a single man who had vowed to stop him at all costs. And yet he always managed to break free of his prison and start again.
Still, in light of recent events, Amber had taken quite an interest in the doctor, whom she assumed was still working for SHIELD to some degree after having taken part in the Avengers initiative. When he was human, he seemed to be a level headed man who wanted nothing more than to be cured of his illness, something she could hardly blame him for. All he wanted was his life back. Was that really too much to ask?
So lost in her own thoughts was she that Amber let down her guard, taking no notice of the door when it opened up to reveal another figure standing there, watching her from a distance. But when the voice reached her ear, her eyes widened and her head shot upward to look into the darkened office to see who had dared to say such a thing to her. There was but one person in the whole world who had ever gotten away with calling her something so ridiculous and child-like...but it couldn't possibly be him. Her dark eyes strained a little as they slowly began to adjust to the lack of light that she stared into, prompting her to quickly rise to her feet and move part of the way around the desk so that the light from the computer screen no longer interfered with her vision. She reached the front corner and suddenly stopped, her hand reaching down to grip the edge of the desk as she inhaled sharply and her other hand pressed firmly to her side. No...it was late...she was imagining things...it couldn't possibly be...
