Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

T.J. was getting chills. Not chills of horror or coldness. But chills of excitement. He was travelling through the cold vacuum of space. Of course, his blue power ring kept him perfectly normal. He felt the same as if he were still on Earth. The main difference was that the wasn't on Earth, he was in space. Being a man of science, being in space was fascinating to him. Not only that but it was a dream come true. Seriously, it was on his bucket list. This was only his third time in space. The first time he was being brought to Odym by another Blue Lantern for training and to see if he was Blue Lantern material. The second time was when he was returning home to Earth from Odym. He wasn't quite used to the whole space thing yet. It just excited him so much. He had felt like going around to other planets to see what their discoveries in science were. But he felt that would be a bit of an intrusion and misuse of his ring. Especially when there was plenty of hope to spread and Blue Lantern stuff that needed to be done. Being in space was certainly exciting for a physicist and practically anyone should be excited being space. It's freaking space. There aren't many cooler things than being able to go to space. T.J. figured of his best friend Charlie ever went into space he'd never let up on it. He'd use it in every pick up line every five seconds in every club.
The reason he was in space was because he caught wind of a dying star, which was never good. Dying stars eventually collasped onto themselves to create black holes. And he certainly didn't want that. Nobody wanted that. So he was travelling to the dying star to reverse it's age. Damn . . . the things the ring could do still amazed him. T.J. wondered if he'd ever get used to all of the amazing, unbelievable stuff his blue power ring was capable of. He arrived rather quickly and it sure was a sight to behold. Especially close up. After all, it was a freaking sun. His mouth was slightly open as he took it all in. This was like something pulled out of one of his wildest day dreams he would have at school whenever the teachers opened their mouths and began talking. He wasn't a bad student, and he certainly wasn't stupid either. His teachers were simply boring. That and he was leagues ahead of the course material. Hell, he had been accepted to MIT he was a bit above high school level science and math. Of course, T.J. was a modest person. He would probably never say anything like that.

He had stopped to see if there was anything he could do to help restore the sun to a more stable condition, though he knew healing was not a primary function for his ring. That didn’t mean he wasn’t going to try- he was a Green Lantern, after all. There had to be something he could do. Then he noticed his power levels starting to shoot through the roof, peeking somewhere near two hundred percent of what the ring was normally capable of.
Sinestro knew what it meant when that happened- there was a blue lantern in the area.
The Green Lantern looked from his ring to the expansive space around him. Multiple sectors spanning billions of miles in all conceivable directions, and he just happens to run into another lantern. What were the odds? More annoyingly, it was a blue lantern- not the kind of was particularly fond of. Still, he would be able to help the star, and that was probably something to treat as a plus, even if it meant acknowledging that blue lanterns actually had some purpose. Not something he liked to do if he could help it. Sighing to himself, he moved himself from his position, floating around the sun until he happened upon the lantern his ring had pointed out to him some time ago. It was… not Walker. It was not Warth. It was not any of the blue lanterns he was familiar with, in fact.
It seemed to be a human. But wait, didn’t he just meet a human blue lantern not that long ago? Now there were two? It seemed like there were many things he was letting himself fall out of touch with, the recruitment of the other corps being one of them.
He was going to have to pay more attention to something so important.
“Looks like you have come at just the right time,” he informed the other, though his tone lacked any kind of warmth in greeting or general appreciation that he was there. “I do hope you know how to use your ring- considering I have no idea who you are, you must be quite new.” It would be interesting to see what the human could do- the other blue lantern he had met didn’t seem to have any real interest in her ring, from what he had seen. What a waste. Having power and not using it?
That was something he would not be able to do.

Despite his fascination with the sun, T.J.’s attention was drawn somewhere else. To his ring. He felt the power surge in it like he had never felt before. He hadn’t met any Green Lantern’s but he knew that this must have been what the other Blue Lantern’s on Odym had been talking about during his training. He looked around him looking for where the Green Lantern was. He wondered what the Green lantern would be like. He knew they were supposed to be very strong-willed. It was what they stood for. T.J. himself stood for hope like the other Blue Lantern’s. It was the Green Lantern who found him first. T.J. looked over the black and green clad warrior of will with his usual small, smile on his face.
T.J. noted that there wasn’t much emotion in the Green Lantern’s voice. I seemed almost cold. Unpleasant. It lacked the warmth or awkwardness or nervousness that was usually found in T.J.’s voice. It was off-putting and made him nervous. The man reminded him somewhat of his own father at first. Especially the second part of what he said. It wasn’t a good thing that Sinestro reminded T.J. of his father. And not just because T.J. was absolutely terrified of his father most of the time. But also because it reminded him of how he still needed to come up with an excuse to explain where he had been the past two weeks while he was on Odym. The ‘I was on far away planet receiving unbelievable power in the form of a blue ring because I’m an endlessly hopeful and optimistic person’ excuse/truth would never go smooth with his father. He wouldn’t be surprised if his father smacked him up side the head and called him a dumb ass for saying something his father would have deemed ‘stupid’. He would eventually tell his father. But only after he proved himself on earth as a hero. He knew that was the only way his father would accept him as a Blue Lantern.
T.J. sucked it up though. He was hopeful and optimistic about working with him even if he reminded him of his authoritarian father. After all, it was a chance to work along side another member of one of the other Lantern Corps. And it was always good to try and strengthen bonds between the Lantern Corps. Heck, maybe he was completely wrong about the guy. Maybe he was from some kind of Vulcan-like planet and was like the Captain Kirk of the Green lanterns or something.
“Oh um . . . yeah I know how to use it.” T.J. said rather awkwardly. He was a bit nervous. After all, this was the first time he would be worker with a Green Lantern. Or any other Lantern for that matter. But he wanted to make a good impression. "Yeah, I’m new. Oh by the way. I’m T.J.” He said extending his hand. He wasn’t sure if the man would shake it. If it was against his way or something. He didn’t want to offend him.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] So it seemed this blue lantern knew how to use his ring, or at least was willing to claim he did. That was good- a blue lantern ring was going to be handy with a situation like this. Moreso than his green ring, which wasn’t as geared towards healing as a ring of hope. It annoyed him that he wasn’t going to be the star of the show, but if he had learned anything from his time on earth it was that he didn’t need to be in the center of the stage every time. Sometimes other heroes were better suited for things, though it was still a bit painful to admit. The sting would lessen with time, he imagined.
Or maybe that was wishful thinking.
Either way, he didn’t pay too much attention to it right at that moment, what with the sun in dire need of some care. He needed to focus on work, not the semantics of the job itself. So when the young blue lantern offered him a hand, Sinestro accepted it, though he did so not as humans would, by shaking, but as Korugarans would. He moved past his hand, taking hold of his wrist and leaving room for the human to do the same. There was no shaking involved, a mere grip was all that was needed before he broke away and floated back a bit. “I am Sinestro,” he told the other with a nod of his head, “Green Lantern, and here to help you with this little.. problem.” He turned his attention back to the sun, tilting his head slightly to one side.
He didn’t look like he was too worried about what was happening. Actually, if nothing else he seemed a little bored by it. Sinestro was not someone who wore his emotions on his sleeve, so it was pretty much impossible for anyone to know what was going on inside his head. For all this new blue knew, he was ready to try and kill him in the blink of an eye.
An interesting thought, but he wouldn’t lash out at hope just because he didn’t believe in it.
“I think your powers would be most useful in this situation,” he continued, observing the situation and thinking things over in his ever-ticking brain, “my ring, though now twice as powerful, does not have the healing aspect of yours. I suppose you would be better suited to turn the clock back for this sun and make it less of a flaming death machine.” He watched the blue lantern, arching a critical eyebrow at the human. “You know how to do something like that, I trust.” He imagined the human would be able to pull it off. With him there to keep the sun stable just in case things didn’t go quite right, it would be fine to let the newbie try and flex his powers. Plus, it would be interesting to see what a blue lantern could really do. He hadn’t seen their powers much, given that he hadn’t been a green lantern for long. Only when he had been captured by red lanterns so long ago, and a little while they had been dealing the Nekron and Krona. Recently, the lanterns he had met had not been so keen on using their powers.. at all.
It was a little weird.

For a moment, T.J. wasn’t sure that the Korugan green lantern would accept his extended hand. It was so hard to read him. But then the green lantern extended his own hand and went past his hand grasping his wrist. T.J. wasted no time in doing the same as Sinestro had done and before he knew it it was over. There was no shake or anything. Though plenty of humans did not shake when they did. In fact, many humans just gripped rather firmly seeing who could crush the others hand under the false pretense that they were friends or something. So that’s the Korugan version of a hand shake. T.J. thought to himself. He had figured with how big the universe was that there would be hundreds of thousands of different versions or equivalents of handshakes. After all, not all of the planets would come up with the same things as humans had. That would just be absurd. It was strange though.
With the way the green lantern seemed . . . like he had no emotions. Like he could seemingly turn around and kill him at any moment. He felt as if the man would have held up his hand and split his fingers apart and recite Spock by saying ‘Live Long and Prosper’ at any moment. It was a bit of a funny thought that helped lighten the mood for T.J. Which was definitely good being that the man was putting him off. But T.J. figured the Korugan hand shake suited the man. He seemed to be authoritarian. Like he didn’t take anything from anybody. As if he would frown upon laughter. A very serious type. The version of the handshake just felt military-like. He couldn’t explain why. It just . . . did.
T.J. heard the man introduce himself as Sinestro and how he was here to help with the sun problem. T.J. immediately recognized the name. Thaal Sinestro. Former founder and leader of the Sinestro Corps. The former ‘king of fear’. He was a former yellow lantern who had previously been a green lantern and had rather recently rejoined the Green Lantern Corps. Thaal Sinestro was practically a legend on Odym. He had heard much about him on Odym during his training and induction into the Blue Lantern Corps.
Unlike Sinestro who seemed a little bored by the whole thing, T.J. was clearly amazed. It was the first time he had actually been close to the sun. Even when it was dying it looked downright amazing too him. He didn’t seem worried though. Not at all. Rather fascinated. He had a small, friendly smile on as usual as he looked at the giant fiery ball of hot gases with amazement. He wasn’t worried, because he had hope. He didn’t doubt for a second that they couldn’t reverse the age of the sun. He had been trained, and he knew Sinestro had a history in the Lantern Corps.
“Thank you. Your help is much appreciated.” T.J. responded as he took it all in. “Right, of course,” T.J. said taking a deep breath and exhaling in a calmly fashion. He was a bit nervous of course. This was the moment he had been waiting, no, training for. This was it. He had been training as a Blue Lantern on Odym because he wanted to help the universe. Do all that he could for it. Give himself to it if he had to. ”You know . . . they talk about you quite a bit on Odym. Kind of like a legend I guess. A symbol. One that shows that you can always change. That no matter how far you fall you can always come back. redeem yourself. That sort of thing.” T.J. said as he lifted his ring concentrating on all of the hope of the world that relied on the sun. He could feel it. He could feel the hope. His ring glowed even brighter before letting out a large beam of blue energy that shot forwards into the sun penetrating into the core without doing any damage. A light layer of his blue energy of hope also began to cover the outside of the star.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] This blue lantern didn’t seem like much of a talker, but maybe he should be thankful for that. It wasn’t like he enjoyed listening to blue lanterns go on and on about how much hope was good for the planet and how everyone needed it in their lives. They seemed to enjoy mocking him with their silly views, and nothing he said every seemed enough to change their minds. It was impossible to make a blue lantern lose hope, at least with words. But then, he supposed they would not have been picked to be blue lanterns if they were really so easily swayed by those around them. Blue lanterns were supposed to be fountains of hope- never giving up and never acting like something was too much for them. This one seemed to have that part down, at least. Even if he was inexperienced and new to the scene, he looked like he was ready to do his best and try to help the sun.
It would have been impressive, if Sinestro weren’t so bitter about it being from a blue lantern.
Despite how annoyed he seemed about the whole thing, he was generally taken by surprise when the blue lantern mentioned that they spoke about him on their home world. Did they? They didn’t consider him some kind of stain on the Green Lantern corps? Someone that needed to be watched? That’s what seemed to be the line of thinking for most of the other people he had encountered. The ones who knew about him, anyway. Very few considered him anything other than a threat. Like they thought he was a Green Lantern because it was some kind of ploy and they were going to be ready for the moment where his master scheme revealed itself. It would be a long wait for them, all things considered. To hear the blue lanterns, of all people, considered him something positive to discuss was both a little nice and completely humiliating. Couldn’t the group he had hated with a giant portion of his soul hate him back? Why did they have to be so… nice.
Still, maybe it was better than no one thinking he was really trying to change himself. Even if it did come with a bit of a sting, it was nice to know.
“Well, they might be too generous with how they think of me,” he said absently, not wanting any of his real thoughts to seep through, “I am only doing what I can, while this ring is on my finger. I wouldn’t say I ever needed to be redeemed.” He was lying, of course. He knew exactly how bad his past actions had been. Even if he had thought he was doing it for the greater good at the time, he now understood just how wrong he had been. That was another bitter pill to swallow.
Sinestro pointed his ring at the sun as well, though his energy was not directed in getting involved in reversing the age of the sun as the blue lantern’s. He was more interested in making sure the sun didn’t take any surprise turns for the worst with the sudden energy on the scene. He was keeping the sun stable so the blue lantern had the best chance of pulling things off correctly. With his ring also granting the blue lantern more room to use his ring effectively, he imagined he was doing a fairly fine job of playing the support role. Next time, he would be the one in charge of things.
“You’re doing fine,” he offered after a moment, “the sun is in good shape and your powers seem to working. I’m glad to see a lantern who is actually willing to use his ring.”

T.J. could have sworn he saw the first bit of emotion yet on Sinestro’s face after he talked about how the Blue Lanterns spoke of him on their home world or headquarters, Odym. He could have sworn he saw the tiniest flicker of surprise. T.J. wasn’t completely surprised by this tiny flicker of surprise. After all, not everyone was as hopeful as the Blue Lanterns. They, after all, were the most hopeful people in the universe. Sometimes that was a bit hard to take in. Him. One of the most hopeful people in the universe. It was strange. Perhaps it was due to his modesty. T.J. figured he was probably looked down upon or thoroughly watched by the other Green Lanterns and other heroes. After all, he did some pretty damn terrible things as founder and leader of the Sinestro Corps. At least, that’s what he had heard. He himself wasn’t of the same universe as the Lantern Corps. He was the first of his universe to be inducted as a Blue Lantern. Possibly even the first in all the other Corps as well. He was meant to be the hope that the universes would get along peacefully. At least, that’s what they told him when they were training and inducting him into the Blue Lantern Corps.
T.J. had a nagging feeling at the back of his neck. He didn’t know why. Perhaps it was how he said the words absentmindedly rather than the stoic, stalwart, authoritarian way before. But he felt like Sinestro was lying about something. Perhaps the redeeming part. That’s what it felt like. Then again, T.J. never was quite good with detecting lying or those sort of things. He was rather socially awkward. Though he did have a lot more courage with his ring. That was for sure. “You don’t have to say it.” T.J. said. Sinestro had said that he wouldn’t say he ever needed to redeem himself. Perhaps that was the part that made him feel like Sinestro had lied. It was a half-truth perhaps. “You just have to do it. Actions speak a lot louder than words.”
T.J. saw Sinestro’s energy. It wasn’t directed at reversing the suns age though. No. That was his own job. His ring was, like Sinestro had pointed out before, a more capable healer and more fit for the task itself. It was not something the other Lantern Corps should feel bad about though. After all, they were like tools and the universe was like a car. Each served their purpose in fixing, maintaining and helping the car or universe. Yet, no one kind of tool alone could fix, maintain and help the car without the help of the others. Each played their parts and had their own jobs and areas of specialty.
T.J. concentrated on his own energy though as he reversed the age of the son. He could see it changing already. He could even . . . feel it. It was strange. But he felt it. The sun was filling up with tons of energy and more and more hydrogen and helium was fueling the star. The hydrogen’s constant star-wide nuclear reactions like a hydrogen bomb going of were speeding up. It was becoming younger and it was clear that the sun was getting younger, hotter and much more vibrant. Waves of electromagnetic radiation much stronger than the earlier ones were being released into the universe.
”Thank you.” T.J. responded. The next thing that Sinestro said surprised T.J. a lot. He was just taken aback. He couldn’t believe there were people who wouldn’t use their rings! It was just so . . . irrational. “Why wouldn’t someone use their ring? It allows you to do much more good than you can possibly do without it. I mean, I love this thing. Right now, I’m doing two things from my bucket list at the same time. I’m flying and I’m in space.”

Yes, he suppose he already knew that actions spoke the loudest. It was what had set him as a villain in the first place. Despite the fact that he had been seeking what he thought was the best answer to all the chaos in the universe, no one saw it as more than blind murder and conquest. After a while, that was all it had really become. His actions had led him down the wrong path. Now he would do what was needed to make up for all the mistakes he had made. Whether or not he would say he needed redemption, he was going to strive for it. As long as his body would hold out, he would continue to fight. It was all a little more than he had anticipated dealing with when he had been assigned to look into the merging of the dimensions. When he had first arrived with his daughter, he had assumed he would hide away in his underwater base and simply do his job without concerning himself with the affairs of humans. Then he started to help humans, and meet some interesting characters. Things had just exploded from there.
It was a little mind-blowing. And hearing that people were actually acknowledging his changes was just more than he knew how to process. Perhaps he would simply shove it to the back of his mind and keep focused on his work. It hadn’t worked out too well to ignore things the last time, but he supposed this one instance wasn’t going to cause him to return to a life a drama and destruction.
Oh right, they were saving a sun and all the planets hovering around it.
It looked like things had worked out very well- the sun had returned to a stable, younger state that would likely last much longer than it would have in the condition it had been in. The planets around it would not have to worry about needing to flee their home world in utter terror. Not something he would have hated that long ago, but now it was good to know they would be fine. Or at least acceptable to know that they would be fine. He didn’t want to get too excited about it.
Actually, he was more impressed with the kid than he was happy for the people who would not be dying. Though he was inexperienced, it seemed he already had a decent handle on his ring and how it worked. He didn’t have any complications trying to reverse the age of the sun, at least none Sinestro had felt with his own ring keeping a monitor of things. There had been no influx of powers or misplaced energy that might have sent everything spiraling into chaos. A good thing, all things considered. Not many Green Lantern recruits seemed to be able to come out swinging. True, he had probably had a lot of training while he had been on his home world, but green lantern recruits were the same and they still sucked most of the time. Normally, at least one or two recruits from the training lots ended up getting themselves killed within their first week. It wasn’t easy being a lantern.
The fact that the boy didn’t take well to hearing about others who weren’t interested in using their rings amused him as well. That was another good sign. “Yes, I met another blue lantern who said she preferred using her own skills to look more normal for humans. I didn’t really understand. I would use my ring to help if I were able.” He shrugged his shoulders, looking at his ring since they had been talking about it. The ring was beeping, letting him know that one of the planets they had just saved was having some trouble. “Seems there’s a bit of an invasion on one of the planets- a hostile invader known for breaking treaties and invading protected planets for cheap slave labor. There’s probably wounded and hostages on the enemy ships.” He was speaking like he had already decided the blue lantern would be coming with him.

T.J. thought things were going just fine. Sinestro was definitely helping. The sun seemed to be down to nice young age that would take a few billion years to get to the point it was at. That sun wasn’t collapsing into a black hole today. No, sir.T.J. smiled as everything seemed to be stabilizing. His beam began to retract as well as the large light blue energy that surrounded the sun in a circle. In no time it had retracted into his ring. He checked the power he had left. It really was absurd how much the power level shot up when he was around a Green lantern. He had enough to do so much more than just reversing the age of the sun. His eyes moved over to look at their handiwork. It seemed even more amazing now that it was younger. The different peoples of the planets floating around this solar system no longer had to worry about their dying sun.
This was the first time he really felt like Blue Lantern. He had helped someone. He had actually spread hope. Saved a solar system by reversing the age of a star. It certainly did feel good. He wondered how Sinestro felt about it. He was so hard to read. He couldn’t even tell if he was happy the sun hadn’t died. Then again, he was a seasoned veteran. He had probably done it so many times in his life that the novelty of the act had worn off for him. But t.J. was enjoying it nonetheless. T.J. looked at Sinestro wondering what he was thinking at the moment. He wondered if the man disliked him or something. He just seemed somewhat . . brooding to him. Or rather, intimidating would better suit Sinestro.
“Well that’s just . . . strange.” T.J. said trying to think of why someone wouldn’t use their ring. He could not comprehend it. It was definitely good to help people on your own whenever you could. But the ring allowed you to do so much more that you could do without it. It helped spread hope farther than one could without it. “I always use my ring if I think I can help with it.” It was true. He even used it when he didn’t need to help others. Flying was fun. He also found that there was always something one can do and that there was always a criminal to stop or hope to spread to someone without hope.
”Huh,” T.J. said before looking down at his ring as it relayed some of the information to him as well. He still wasn’t completely used to checking his ring. Eventually he remembered and would, but he didn’t check it all the time. Sometimes he just wandered looking for someone to help or something to do. Earth had an overabundance of super villains and crime. He had heard on Odym that most other planets did not have as many as they did on Earth.“Well let’s hurry then,” T.J. said as he shot off at mid-speed while thinking of what they could do. “So what’s the plan?” he asked as he moved towards the planet in need? Sinestro’s ring was more suited for battle purposes. Plus he was a veteran. He figured that if they were in an army Sinestro would certainly out-rank his own. If they were working together, a plan would be sufficient and hopefully insure their success. Planning was often the difference between failure and success. But failure of adaptation was also up there. No matter how much planning you could never be sure what the enemy was going to do.

True, he wouldn’t really have given him a chance to say no, but at least he didn’t have to deal with that now. The blue was already on his way to the planet, and Sinestro moved to follow him. Well, actually he moved to get ahead of him so he could lead them to the planet. Even if they both knew what needed to be done, he liked to be in the lead when it came to storming a world. Call him a creature of habit. The ring was different but the feelings were sometimes the same. Once he was ahead of the other, he looked back, the boy asking him what the plan was. Considering it was only one army and they were only invading the one planet, Sinestro wasn’t too sure they needed a lot of strategy. Really, the only thing they were going to need was to stick fairly close to one another, so at least some of their linked powers would still be in effect. The blue lantern would need more range with what he could do with his ring, and Sinestro wouldn’t be against having a power boost. However, he imagined splitting up was also a good option, as it would allow them to use their strengths more effectively. Considering everything was in the same sector on the planet, he figured at least some link between the rings would remain, even if they were a few miles away from one another at times.
It should still be more than enough.
“I think our best option would be to split up,” he said after his moment of thought had come to an end, “I would be better suited incapacitating the forces while you gather the inhabitants and heal any of the injured. Protecting them from further attack is one of the priorities, and something I think even your ring would be able to pull off.” Even though he was impressed with the boy, he still had to keep up the whole ‘I hate hope’ thing he was so invested it. That meant he was still a bit skeptic of just how powerful a blue lantern’s ring could actually be, even with them.
When they got to the planet, it was clear to see where the action was- several large warships hovered over the surface of the planet, clustered where the primary collection of inhabitants lived on the mostly barren world. Of course they had targeted a small, weak planet- they would do anything to gain some quick resources. “Alright,” he said, his voice a bit less bored and a bit more ready for work, “I’m going to start drawing their focus. Get the inhabitants to safety and then you can help me finish these fools off, if any are left for you.” He took a moment to look at the boy, observing him with keen, sharp yellow eyes.
“Do you think you can handle this?”

T.J. thought about Sinestro’s plan. It was a good idea, even if splitting up, to keep a bit close. After all, his power ring did less without a Green Lantern and he was sure that the power boost that Sinestro got from being near him and his blue lantern power ring would be helpful. Especially taking on a whole army invasion force. They would not want to run out of energy. Of course, T.J. could always power himself off of the hope of the people of the planet. It was also true that while Sinestro’s ring was more suited for battle, T.J.’s would be more helpful in a healing unit. Not to mention Sinestro had much more experience in combat. Ouch. He mentally shrugged off the insult at his ring. Sinestro apparently didn’t like the Blue Lantern Corp. T.J. wondered why. Perhaps he was one who did not believe in hope. T.J. had met many people who felt that way. Like hope was illogical. Irrelevant. Some even believed it wasn’t real. But not T.J. He strongly believed in the power of hope and what it could bring to people. Nevertheless, he didn’t wallow on the insult. In fact, it would seem as if it didn’t effect him on the outside. He had had a lot worse said to him. He wasn’t one to reciprocate such things as insults or rudeness in most scenarios. He was a bit of a push-over due to that. besides, they didn’t have time to argue. There was a planet in the balance.
“Right,” T.J. said with a nod of his head as they soared towards the invaded planet. In no time they landed on the planet. T.J. immediately noted where the big battle was. It wasn’t too hard. He also noted that the planet was a rather small one and was mostly barren. “Always picking on the little guy,” T.J. said more to himself than anyone else. T.J. took in a deep breath and exhaled in a calm manner. He was nervous. It was his first real battle. Anyone in their right minds would be nervous before their first battle. They were a two man force with two all-powerful rings taking on an invasion force. Most people would call them insane. But they had their rings. The most powerful weapons in the universe. T.J. noted how Sinestro seemed less bored now. Maybe he liked fighting. Perhaps it was a bit of blood lust. Maybe it was the excitement of the adrenaline rush of being in battle. T.J. didn’t much like fighting. He would if he had to, but he much more preferred peaceful means. He would use his ring if he had to though.”Yeah,” T.J. said giving a head nod as his eyes scanned the area looking for anyone who might need his help. He exhaled a deep breath. “Let’s do this,” T.J. said as he glowed a brighter hue of blue and took off flying very close to the ground as he sped towards some people who needed his help. T.J. lifted a bunch of rocks off a civilian and did a quick scan with his ring. A broken arm and a fractured leg bone.
T.J. helped several others and healed a bunch of people along the way. The enemy forces seemed to be dealing with something else. T.J. guessed that was probably Sinestro. He was still close enough that he got a power boost from him and expected the same for Sinestro. An energy blast went past his head just missing him. T.J. turned on heel to see a small unit of twelve alien invaders with energy blasters and energy rifles. As they opened fire on T.J. and the sixty or so civilians he had with him, T.J. created a dome of blue energy around them. T.J. then released the blue bubble of energy bursting towards the enemies and knocking three of them over. But they were back up in no time ready again. T.J. created a large blue energy wall blocking the second round of fire. He pushed the wall forward really fast. Five of them got out of the way, but the others were put out of commission. One who had lost his gun came up to attack him and T.J. kicked him back before giving a muay thai elbow to his face knocking him out as the blood rushed down into his eyes while some of it gushed onto T.J.’s elbow from the impact. Aw man . . . green blood . . . not cool T.J. thought to himself as he blocked a sword looking melee weapon with a blue energy sword he created. He added on a further end to his own weapon and leg swept the man who had locked blades with him. He created a small blue bowl like form around the mans head sucking the air or whatever it was they breathed away knocking him out. He shot a few energy blasts from his ring as one grazed his arm. It stung a bit. He had never been shot before. Admittedly he was very nervous. Being on the battle field was a bit nerve wracking. Which was why he was pretending it was a video game. Which actually helped a lot being he had a hell of a lot of experience with them.
There were two guys left, but now there were five back up guys coming. He created a tesla coil out of blue energy which successfully shocked each of them enough to knock them out. He went around gathering and healing a lot of other people before he took around two hundred civilians to a safer location. It seemed the other civilians had evacuated the area earlier as there weren’t many others. In fact, he couldn’t find any other civilians there now. He decided to head back to Sinestro. It actually wasn’t too hard. You just had to follow the lines of fallen alien invaders towards the large invasion war ships that were in the air and find the only Green Lantern on the planet. It had been around twenty to thirty minutes since he went off on his own. He had been fine and he suspected Sinestro was too. The only injury T.J. had were two grazed energy beam shots. By the time he got there he had constructed a blue energy Pikachu. As he rushed in the conjured Pikachu kept shocking alien invaders. T.J. was close behind the energy construct and he was soon right by Sinestro. “I’m back,” T.J. said as Pikachu shocked one of the enemies before retracting back into his ring.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Sinestro wasn’t worried about being on his own. If anything, he preferred it. He had been in charge of an army, sure, and had been pretty much in charge of battles when he had been in the Green Lantern corps the first time around, too. But he had never been one to actually hang around with the rest of the forces and fight side-by-side. He preferred making sure they all had jobs and were in the best places to reduce loss of life for everyone involved, then heading off on a task he had set aside specifically for himself. Usually it was the most dangerous, or at least the potentially most dangerous job of the lot. He didn’t like entrusting others with important tasks. Not because he thought he was better than them, though he was, but because he didn’t want to put that kind of burden on anyone else’s shoulders. Really dangerous things were better left for the people in charge, right? And if he could do it on his own, all the better. Somehow, he felt he was at his best when he didn’t have anyone bothering him, though everyone and their mother always liked to tell him that working as a team was always the better way to go about things. He had been around longer than most every other lantern in the corps- he didn’t think they had the right line of thinking, that being the case.
He moved into the battlefield with his sights set on the warships- three massive structures that served as a trio of motherships for the rest of the forces. They were where the fighter ships were coming in and out of. He grinned to himself before launching for the closest ship, swooping beneath its nose and floating himself mid-air on his back. He pointed his ring up at the ship hovering above him, using his ring to shoot a massive beam right through the bottom and all the way through to the other side. Then, he shot himself straight down towards the rockets, shooting through the ship all the way to the bottom. The massive thing exploded in a ball for fire, the force sending Sinestro towards the floor. But with his ring keeping a barrier around him, it was nothing more than a gust of powerful wind, the explosion causing him no harm. The same couldn’t be said for the smaller ships all around the mother ship, which were caught up inside the blast and destroyed as well. All that remained around the burning ball of wreckage were several groups of green balls, each one holding an unconscious alien invader inside of it. After all- he was supposed to be a good guy, now, right? That meant he wasn’t supposed to kill anyone.
Even if he wanted to.
The aliens were gathering into one sort of holding cell construct, and Sinestro moved onto the next ship to fight. By that time, the aliens had become aware of his presence, and were sending their ships at him to make sure he didn’t get a chance to blow up any more of their forces. They wished they had the skill to stop him. Without much trouble, he served through the forces, knocking out ships and pilots while actually smiling. It would be a massive lie for him to say that he wasn’t enjoying himself. On the contrary- he was really having some fun. He zoomed into one of the open hatches on the ships, invading the docking bay and quickly making his way to the engine of the ship. Making sure to take every crewman into custody, he made short work of the engine, and soon enough that ship was as big a fireball as the one that had come before it. He shot through the fire and broke out into the air again, his eyes instantly finding their way to the last mother ship in the area.
It was already trying to retreat. The remaining ships were pulling back into the docks, and it seemed to be a mad scramble to try and get back into space. They would not get far- by the time the blue lantern showed up, the last of the massive ships was grounded. While not quite the burning wreckage of the others, it was clear it would not be flying off anywhere else. All that remained were some ground forces, which were probably weak enough for even the blue lantern to take out without him around. Sinestro considered it a fairly good day, given that they had managed to save the planet and it looked like the blue lantern had done well in helping out the inhabitants of the planet beneath him. Maybe the hope guys were good at what they were designed to do, even if he didn’t like the thought of it much.
“How did things go?” He asked. He was perhaps a little burnt in places, maybe some scratches from the gun shots, but he was not too badly wounded. “I think there might be some more ships hiding around here somewhere, so we may have to sniff them out. And knock out the rest of these fools.”
