Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Bruce wasn’t sure that this would be a good idea due to the fact that he had not really interacted with the other avengers as himself, yet due to the battle that they had recently fought he thought that he should have at least talked to some of them. The one that he had been able to get on with the easiest had been Tony due to the fact that they had both being scientists and the other man didn’t care that he was the hulk hell he had nearly liked the fact that he had been the hulk more than the fact that he had been Bruce Banner. He had felt that he would seek out a member of the avengers due to what had happened in the battle.
As Hawkeye had been taken control of by Loki even for the shortest time he could tell slightly what the other man might have been feeling and wanted to check what his theory was. The fact that he hated himself for the actions of the hulk when he had first began changing had not gone but he had stopped blaming himself for the actions of the hulk because of the fact that he was not in control of them. Sure it was his body well a changed version of his body but it was technically still his hands and feet doing those things but it had not been his own cognitive thought that had done it. He was willing to bet that the agent would feel similar due to the fact of what had happened but he didn’t know if he would want to talk about it. He was currently in the firing range as Fury had told him that was the best place to find the archer most of the time but also he had wanted to practice his own shooting just so that he didn’t have to rely on the hulk all of the time for smaller issues.

Clint had thought that it was going to be another normal day at the shooting range. Unfortunately, that wasn't to be. Normally he would pull up on the Ducati, and get right to it. The range was abandoned, and no one had met him there for as long as he had used it. Clint had set up a target about two hundred and fifty feet from the start of the range and this was his eye honing practice. He was slowly getting to his mark of three hundred feet, a target that he had set for himself long ago. Without a trainer, and because of the fact that he was getting near the peak of his ability, it was getting harder and harder to make any progress. But it was happening nonetheless.
Clint was almost shocked to find Bruce Banner there, waiting intently. The first thought that crossed his mind was that he had never really met the scientist before, just the Hulk. It was going to be interesting finally being able to meet the man who was such a dynamic part of the Avengers' final victory in New York. The Ducati gave a roar as it pulled up, suddenly stilled by Clint's key. He approached Bruce with a slightly cautious eye, and smiled a bit. "How'd you know to find me here?" He asked, in a slightly sarcastic manner. Fury had probably given this location to him, it was known throughout SHIELD that this was a frequent hideout for the sharpshooter. "You're Bruce Banner, Correct? It's good to finally meet you, out of uniform if you know what I mean." Clint stuck his hand out to shake. By now his smile was spread out across his face like the quarter-moon.

Bruce wasn’t sure if he had been the best person to talk to someone else about anger issues but he knew that it was something that he could do, he would be someone that thing such as anger and control could be best talked to him because he was the one with the most experience with losing control and doing things that you don’t have complete control of. From what he had seen of what had happened with Barton he had injured and killed people that he had been working with; yet it was different due to the fact that he was the hulk he could feel that it hadn’t been his actions that had been caused by another body almost and it was something that meant he could distance himself from the actions. Of course the first couple of times he had felt bad when he had caused casualties when he had been the hulk. Now he was sorry for the loss of life that he might have caused but he also accepted there was nothing he could have done to stop it.
He had never been under the control of someone else however; Hawkeye on the other hand had been under the control of Loki and it was nothing that he could compare to. Yet he felt that he should have tried to talk to the other man about the events due to the fact that he could give some insight into the hulk and hopefully the other man would change the outlook on what had happened. Of course he was not completely sure how much the other man had felt from the events of the war that they had gone to with Loki and the army that he had assembled. As Clint arrived he noted that he did seem pretty calm of course the fact that he was at the firing range there would be more confusing than anything. When the other man asked how he had found him there he couldn’t help but smile. ”From what I have heard this is the best place to find you.” he said.
When he asked who he was he had to think of the fact Clint didn’t meet him as Bruce when he had been in control of himself a lot. They had fought alongside each other during the war against Loki but they hadn’t really sat down and talked if he was being honest. “Yeah I am Bruce Banner.” he said ”I thought I would see how you where given what happened with Loki if anyone knows what it is like not to be in complete control it’s me.”

Clint was almost glad his notion had been correct. He wouldn't have known what to do with himself if he had been wrong. The situation would have been embarrassing at least. Not to mention Clint would finally have really good reason to believe that his instincts were dulling. That was more of a relief than misidentifying the skinny doctor that stood in front of him. He wasn't even forty yet; Clint couldn't be dropping off his prime. sometimes he wished that he was more than mortal, had some fancy powers, or had the serum like Cap and Natasha. Then he would never be off his game, and he would be able to do what he loved- shoot and help others that needed it- for the rest of his extended life. But then he always remembered the cons of that, and the fact that shooting and helping was so hard, and always repetitive. Also, he would always think about how he wanted to retire and die in peace, not in a mess of things like he had seen some of his fellow friends do. That, kept his sober from the temptation to go and get himself altered. "Well, the person you got your info from is a pretty sharp man." He couldn't help but drop the hint that he had known all along. He was pretty sure that Bruce knew the meaning behind his first question but just to make sure.
At the mention of the whole Loki shenanigan, Clint tensed a little as it brought up memories of waking up. That was the only part he really remembered, everything else had been told to him by either Loki or files released to him later. Stealing everything he did, killing the people he had, he didn't recall anything about at all... Natasha kicking him in the face was about all he had seen while being under the influence of Loki's charms. "I can live with myself over what happened. I still feel like it's my fault, I should have seen what was coming, avoided the scepter, and fought harder to get away." He had been wanting to talk to someone who understood for months, but he hadn't been able to think of anyone who would. Bruce hadn't been considered, though, and Clint now wondered why he hadn't. Doctor Banner, if anyone, could identify with not being in control, and regretting what was happening. So, the sharpshooter welcomed him as a friend, and proceeded to be as open as he had ever been with anyone about those few months he had been AWOL. "But what's past is past. I have moved on with my life. It's good to say so to someone who can Identify, though I don't think completely." Bruce could see what had been happening, and Clint couldn't, so he added the last half of the quip.

Bruce knew what it was like to not be in control and he got the feeling that the other man would probably cover up everything that had happened and he would have gone to what could be described as local haunts, that had been what had lead Bruce here pretty much due to the fact that it was known that Hawkeye liked to spend time alone. That was someone that you could have argued was a sign but at the same time he didn’t know enough about the man and he was only going on what he thought was true not what necessarily could have been seen as true. The fact that he had been able to find the man due to what he had been told about him and shown that he preferred to act like nothing had been wrong Bruce knew how that was but he wasn’t going to push the man as it would only make things worse. ”You’re a lot easier to find than you think you are.” he said calmly.
When the other man talked of how he could live with what happened Bruce could tell already that the man didn’t believe it, of course it was convincing, the man was trying to will it to be true yet for someone who had been in that position it was obvious to Bruce that the other man wasn’t ok. He had been an expert had hiding such feelings himself so he could tell that there was something that the man was beating himself up about. He had been through this himself and he knew that it wasn’t something that was easy to deal with but he wasn’t that sure what to tell the other man either.
”I am sure you can cope with what you did.” Bruce said hating what he was about to do ”Has the doubt crept in yet? About if people trust you if the people that you see as your friends aren’t going to turn their back on you because they don’t know if you are going to be in control of yourself or the doubt that you don’t know if it is truly you in control of yourself anymore whether that control is as strong as you think it is or you are just being allowed to think it is?”

"Yeah, I am pretty easy to track." Clint sighed and turned, walking farther into the range. They could talk while he was doing a bit of shooting. "I've always been a creature of habit, and It's cost me a bit through the years. But I'm still alive, hey, right?" There was the target, still set up where he had left it last. It would be merely a speck to the normal eye but Clint's could pick out the center. Considering wind direction and things, it shouldn't be a problem to hit the center.
"Has the doubt crept in yet?" Clint spun. It was like the Doctor had been reading his thoughts. Of course, his whole heart nagged at him that he had been lying to himself all this time. What Bruce said next hit home and became a grand slam out of the park. That was all what the sharpshooter had really been feeling, a tide that he had tried to fight. As the weeks had passed, however, he had found that it was beginning to become harder and harder to grapple with this rising, nagging doubt. For a minute the Dark-haired man said nothing. "You're right, completely." The rest of Clint's guard dropped. "I've been starting to doubt myself in general, and everything you said has been running through my thoughts lately. I haven't admitted it to myself until now. I've never thought of myself as strong, so I suppose that's made it waay worse than anything that I've ever experienced before." Turning, Clint pulled his bow from his back and stepped up to the white chalk line that marked two hundred and fifteen feet from the target. Then an arrow. He was half-distracted because of the raging conflicts in his head so he missed his first shot. "No matter how hard I try to push the thoughts away they keep popping back up at me like jack-in-the-boxes." Again he turned to Bruce, shoulders slumped in defeat. He didn't want to talk about it. But he knew that it needed to happen.

“I am guessing a lot of people are easy to find.” He said “Steve likes his peace and quiet myself I am able to find in a lab the same for Tony I am sure that he would be in his tower more than anything in the world.”
Bruce knew that the other man would be going through everything and anything right now it wouldn’t be something that would be seen as easy due to what he had gone through but he was planning on helping him as he could there wasn’t a lot that he was going to be able to but he would give it a try. After all it wasn’t like he knew the man that well but at the same time he was the expert about losing control sure he knew that was like to be in control of himself and not in control of himself yet he knew that it was the fact that he had tried so hard to keep control of himself and it had been something that he knew the best as it had been him that had been losing control and turning into the hulk before anyone even really knew who he was.
When the other man talked of what he felt he knew how that had been it had been something that he had been through himself and he knew that it wasn’t easy. After all he knew that what the man was going through was normal he had been through it himself it wasn’t easy but it had been manageable over time if he was honest. ”It does get easier over time.” he said “If you don’t let it beat you, I know it mustn’t be easy for you but this is not something that Is going to just go away because you want it to Clint. You can’t just bottle it up and hope it doesn’t happen again because if you do then yourself doubt will be worse, hell there have been days when I didn’t even know if I could get out of bed because I was worried about what I could do, the difference is Clint you can honestly say you couldn’t fight it, after all it was an alien weapon that took control of you no one blames you and you shouldn’t blame yourself.”

Clint genuinely appreciated Bruce for doing this. It was seeming to do a lot more good so far than a couple of psychiatry sessions that he had attended recently to help deal with the problem. It had been a recommendation from Nick Fury. Clint had gone because of the Big Man's insistence. The little lady that he had gone to see was a swertheart but she didn't seem to understand. Clint was sure that there was nobody who did. "We all have our little places, don't we." For a long time Clint had figured that he was one of the few in this world that stuck to a schedule, a pattern, doing the same things over and over because of familiarity. A little ray of light was shed on that depressing thought at Doctor Banner's statement. The sharpshooter had never thought about it that way. "Natasha's is a little place on the helicarrier..." Clint knew her well enough to figure this out. Turning again and straightening his back he grabbed another arrow. Nocking it and letting it fly, it hit dead-on this time. Perfect center. Clint grinned. Now, to perfect the three-arrow and five-arrow technique. But that could wait for a couple seconds. "I hope it'll get at least a little better. It's been hell lately." Clint shifted between turning and facing Bruce to looking at the target. "Yoy're right. i do have a legitimate excuse for what happened. Yet at the same time, you do, too, though, right? I mean, when you hulkify it's not really you. You can't see what the monster is doing, and have no part in controlling him. Am I correct?" The files he gad read at headquarters stated that Bruce had no memories of when he became angry enough to transform. "So, just like when Loki bent me to my will, you are just technically a host body. If I have my facts backwards I apologize." Clint held his hands up. The last thing he needed was a fight over this. It had been a legitimate question.

Bruce knew that Clint was right about people being creature of comfort he had been one before he had been the hulk he had spent a lot of time reading or with Betty, it was not something that he had done a lot. Yet when he had become the hulk a lot of that had changed due to the need that he had to be hidden and away from other people due to not wanting to harm them in the hulk form. Not something that he had done easily but he had kept other people safe but it had been him that had been hunted for the reason that he was different but if people had actually talked about the good that he had done in the world and the fact he was trying to cure himself from the hulk and he was being hunted for it, but was not something that he liked or wanted but they had hunted him for something that he could not control. When the other man talked about the hulk he could tell that it was more of a question but at the same time he knew that there was a level of trying to understand the hulk more. “It depends on the event some things small things no, the odd person something that the hulk has control over for a brief amount of time no, what happened with Natasha on the hellcarrier I can remember, what happened in New York I can remember as well as when I was last in the united states before SHIELD approached me I can remember all of that.” He confessed “yet here is the difference I could see that and didn’t have the control to stop it, Loki took your free will and control away you couldn’t help it or stop but and it doesn’t make you any less of a man, yet there is only so much that a man can do we all have our flaws, as great as captain America is even he cannot cheat death, Tony might hide it in all of his bravado but that arc reactor is keeping him alive so he does some good with it, Thor can move mountains yet he left the man that endangered us all alive because he is his family. There are things that we can’t control Clint, it is how you react before you let the things that you can’t control well control you.” WORDS: 410 TAGGED: Hawkeye OUTFIT: Link Here NOTES: Banner wants to help LYRICS: Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace CREDIT: CaeJae@caution2.0

"Oh, Alright." Clint nodded as he listened and shot a five-set of arrows, first vertically and then horizontally so it made a cross. The center arrows stuck out more than the rest because if they had been wooden the second one would have split the first Robin-Hood style. His third attempt to "Stack" a third over his two failed and he gave a little sigh. He had always said, three in a row commended a moving of the target. Today was not going to be one of those days, obviously. "You're right. I think I've been trying to concentrate too much on the past. The future is where I need to set my sights. And, I need to stop thinking I can control things I can't." Rubbing his hands together, Clint hopped up and down a couple times to get himself back to normal blood circulation. Crouching down for too long made his legs numb. "I don't know how to thank you, for all your help."
