Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Last night had worried her, she had almost lost control around a sick Sinestro. So when she had arrived home, Raven had meditated for most of the night, using her soul self to help center herself. It was useful for her to be able to meditate, it also worked as well as sleep. Or not as well, but close. After meditation she felt rested and safe. Still, sleep had alluded her for most of the night. Reading hadn't helped, neither had surfing the net, trying to find out things that might help Sinestro with his flu. The Titan hoped that she wouldn't get the flu, she imagined that it would be rather difficult to continue to look for the Titans, or to make sure that Sinestro was fine.
So after sleeping for about three hours she had gotten up and made some soup and tea. The Titan spent a lot of time making sure that the soup would be good. The soup she had made Sinestro yesterday would have cooled, besides she hadn't had all the ingredients to make something that should be really good. So with that cooking, the Titan took more time to meditate. But she thought about what Sinestro had said, about not getting rid of the emotions. But Raven did not feel ready to test that out. Not yet, maybe in a few weeks, maybe when she knew if anything was connected to her lack of control.
Dawn sprinkled in through her window, and Raven looked at her costume. At the moment she was in her nightwear, having attempted to get sleep. The thought crossed her mind that she could go in her casual clothes, but the most appropiate would be her costume. When in the Teen Titans it was what she always wore. So getting dressed into it, Raven then searched out two thermal flasks and a Get Well card. Yes it may be an old fashioned idea, but Raven still worried that her going demonic had not be the best for Sinestro's health. So filling that out, and filling two flasks (one with tea, the other with soup), Raven got ready to teleport.
Closing her eyes, Raven knew that she would want this teleportation to be quick. But she was good at teleporting and it took less than a second for her to appear in Sinestro's lair. "Sinestro?" [/b] Raven said softly as she felt around for any presence. The Titan wondered that he might have gone off to fight if his health had slightly increased. Cocking her head, Raven wondered whether she should check Sinestro's room for him or wait a minue before looking for the Green Lantern. [/blockquote][/div] [/style]

Groaning lowly to himself, he opened his eyes, finding it displeasing to have to do so. All he wanted to do was try and get back to sleep. Even if he had been having nightmares for quite some time, it was still a better reality than the world of the living. When awake, he was reminded of just how weak he was feeling. His body didn’t want to move even an inch, sore and stiff, like he had been working for a month on end without the slightest bit of rest. It hurt to move, even to breathe. His chest felt like it was on fire every time he took a struggled breath in.
Was this what it was like to get the flu? He had done a little research and it had seemed like it was a common type of illness. This… how could anyone just casually brush off something so potent? Was it just because he was alien, and had no immunity, or was it because it wasn’t the flu and he had come down with something else? It had felt like things had changed since the day before. Not just like it had gotten worse, but like it had warped somehow. Become something more troubling.
Like he really needed more trouble.
Coughing, he fought off the urge to go back to sleep, shifting as much as he could in the bed to turn his head towards his door. He was aware Raven had come to visit him, probably to check on how he was feeling. “In here,” he mumbled, though he wasn’t positive he had been loud enough to have her hear him.
The kitten sleeping next to him had certainly heard her, however, her ears perking as she looked towards the door. Slowly, the small animal got herself up to her feet, wobbling off to the end of the bed before awkwardly leaping the long distance (for her) to the floor. After flopping against the carpet, she stumbled quickly out of the room, leaving her master for only a moment to say hello to Raven. Purring lightly, the kitten moved between her feet, rubbing against her legs happily. Her owner hadn’t been well enough to get up and feed her or pet her enough for her liking, so she was needy for both attention and something to eat.
Raven seemed like a suitable solution for both in her little kitty mind.

It didn't make it hard to pick up Sinestro's emotions, very faint, but he was still here. The Titan gave a sigh as she knew that he was still here. It meant that Sinestro hadn't done anything silly, like try continue fighting to protect earth when he had the flu. But it also meant that he was probably not better, so no quick healing from the ring. But hopefully his flu was going at the same pace as it would for a human. “In here,” Raven bearly heard the words, so she doubted that Sinestro was getting any better. Walking towards the room where the sound had come from, Raven was greeted by Sora.
After her extensive meditation, Raven noticed the lack of emotion that flowed through her at the kitten's presence. Dropping down, she stroked the ball of white fur that moved between her legs. Even with her emotions placed away the kitten was still endearing. The soup, tea and Get Well Card all floated above her head as she stroked the kitten. "Morning Sora," The Titan said as she petted the cat, before holding her and walking into the room containing Sinestro. Floating after Raven came the various items that she had brought with her for the alien. "Morning Sinestro, how are you?" [/b] Raven asked, her voice rather emotionless although her words were cheerful. Moving the card she handed it over to Sinestro, before sitting, keeping herself up so she was level with Sinestro. Flying was second nature to Raven and she placed Sora on her lap and tickled the kitten under the chin. "I brought some more soup and tea. You probably should try to eat something. Also, does Sora need feeling?"[/b] Raven asked, the thermal flasks of tea and soup floating on each side of her. Sometimes her powers could be useful. Raven yawned, but tried to hide it. Her sleep had not been easy but it was of no matter when Sinestro was ill. "Do you want me to pour you some tea or soup?"[/b][/blockquote][/div] [/style]

He felt like shit and she looked happy and healthy- it wasn’t fair. But he didn’t let himself feel any kind of real emotion over it, just in case it made her upset. She seemed to be in better control of herself at that moment, though, so perhaps he didn’t need to go to such lengths. In any case, he imagined she would let him know if his emotions caused her a problem, just because she wouldn’t want a repeat of what had happened yesterday.
He wasn’t really that interested in it happening again, either.
He took the card when she handed it to him, a little surprised by it. Did she always bring gifts when she went to visit people? It seemed to be for his illness, instructing him to get well soon. Well, he wanted to, but so far it seemed like he was getting worse and not better. His body was still in pretty bad shape, and he wasn’t sure that was going to be changing anytime soon. There had to be some reason he was feeling so much like dirt. More than being alien. More than never having had the flu, or whatever it was, before.
She asked him how he was and he sighed. “I feel like Mogo ran over my chest,” he coughed weakly, “he’s a living planet, if you’re curious.” He was a living planet, anyway, but there was no need to go on about death with his guest having just arrived. Placing the card on his bedside table, the lantern brought his attention to Sora. The kitten was wiggling around, as though she knew what the word ‘food’ meant and was interested in them following through with that. Ignoring the idea of having something to eat himself, he nodded.
“I haven’t been up to feed her,” he told her faintly, “I feel bad, but every time I fall to sleep… it seems to last for a while.” Longer than he would have liked. Longer than Sora would have liked, perhaps. He imagined she would be able to feed the kitten without much trouble. It wasn’t like she was a tough sell when it came to her kitten food.
She asked if he wanted food, and he shook his head again. “I don’t feel like eating,” he told her, “I don’t think I would be able to keep anything down right now.” He looked at her a moment, blinking a few times to get his eyes adjusted better to the light in the room.
“Are you feeling well? You look tired,” he observed, “I hope I’m not making you sick as well..” Was it contagious? He hadn’t even considered it.
Whoops.

It couldn't be easy for someone like him. From what Raven had seen, it appeared Sinestro liked having something to do, no to be doing something. Sensing the emotional climate, Raven noticed that it was controlled. If Sinestro was annoyed about being sick, he wasn't allowing himself to feel it. It was peaceful for her and Raven found it easier, although with all her meditation she didn't think it was completely necessary for Sinestro to not feel. "You are allowed to feel annoyed for being bed ridden." [/b] Raven pointed out. As Sinestro took the card, Raven noted the suprise. Did they not have Get Well cards where he came from? It was probably a rather human thing. Movies often made it seem like that and Raven had seen a fair few movies in the time spent with the Teen Titans. They were teenagers after all. “I feel like Mogo ran over my chest,” Raven frowned, wondering if she should have heard about Mogo. Just as she was about to ask about Mogo, Sinestro spoke again. “he’s a living planet, if you’re curious.” That made more sense. "So you don't feel pleasant. I wish there was more I could do. I might be able to remove some of your discomfort."[/b] Raven suggested. She could remove pain and increase healing. Not that she'd tried it on the sick, still she hopefully could remove some of the discomfort. Yes the discomfort would move to her, but she could dispell it, unlike Sinestro. As she spoke about feeding Sora, the kitten wriggled and the Titan placed her calming hand on the kitten. “I haven’t been up to feed her,” From Sinestro's voice, Raven could tell it was a good thing he hadn't. Sinestro did not sound up for anything but rest and hopefully more sleep. “I feel bad, but every time I fall to sleep… it seems to last for a while.” "Don't worry. The important thing for you is rest. I'll go feed Sora."[/b] Raven smiled, turning to look at the kitten. "We're going to get you some food."[/b] With that, Raven teleported with Sora, looking for food, finding it and the bowl for feeding the kitten, and one for water. Filling both those up, Raven let Sora eat and teleported back to Sinestro. It wasn't so important for her to be quick, but Raven wanted to try and help. “I don’t feel like eating,” That was something that Raven could understand. After influencing one of the Seven Deadly Sins she could be vomiting for up to a week. More often than not, at the start it would be every five minutes. “I don’t think I would be able to keep anything down right now.” "I know how that feels. But soup is easier to keep down, so whenever you feel up for trying it. I've got it in a thermal flask, so it should remain warm, but you can heat it up, if it's too cold."[/b] The Titan instructed, wanting to make sure that the alien would make a full recovery. "Do you want tea, or for me to get you some more water?"[/b] She asked, walking to look at the glass she had left last night, and glancing at the picture again. The teenager found the picture rather beautiful and whenever she got the chance she looked at the family scene. “Are you feeling well? You look tired,” Raven looked up as Sinestro spoke and gave a wiry smile. “I hope I’m not making you sick as well..”"I generally don't get sick. Happy emotions heal me, I'm part mystical being. I do get sick for other reasons, but those are generally my fault. But you are right, I am tired. I did not sleep well. But I got in a lot of meditation, so that should righten things about."[/b] The teen shrugged, again hidding a yawn. Working should waken her up. "But in case you are wondering, the flu is contagious and something that young children and the elderly should not be exposed to."[/b] [/blockquote][/div] [/style]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] When she offered to take away some of his discomfort, the red-skinned alien gave a slight shake of his head. “That’s alright,” he assured her, “It’s not too bad, I was just complaining for the sake of it.” He was lying, of course. He felt worse than he had the day before- it seemed like he couldn’t move, his body too sore and weak for him to get to function properly. It was annoying, though he had been trying to hide it, to be stuck in bed with such horrible feelings. He didn’t like being sick.
He didn’t like it at all.
Coughing roughly, but weakly, the green lantern shifted again in the bed. It didn’t seem to matter, though. No position seemed like a comfortable position for him. It was a good thing she had gone to feed the kitten, as it gave him a moment to keep himself from getting cranky about his predicament. Not because he wanted to spare her feeling his emotions, but because he wanted to spare her the wrath of a cranky Sinestro. He was not the best company on a good day, much less when less when he was angry about things he could not change. Still, he thought about how Raven was helping Sora, and it calmed him a little. The kitten wouldn’t have to suffer from her hunger any longer.
She returned shortly, and he imagined Sora was in the kitchen eating every last ounce of food in her bowl. Now Raven wanted him to eat, but he still didn’t like the idea of it. Even if it was something easier to keep down, his stomach did a flip just thinking about it. Later, maybe. At that moment, he just wanted to ignore food and sulk about things. With great effort, he sat himself up in the bed, to have a better situation for speaking with Raven. He wasn’t standing up, so clearly he wasn’t breaking any rules, right?
“I see,” Sinestro said. It was probably good that she had been meditating for a while, if it meant finally having a meeting together where he wasn’t attacked by a giant bird. He didn’t need to re-visit her freezing soul-self dimension, either. Still, he didn’t like the idea of someone young staying up all night, even if they thought they could handle it. They needed their rest when they could get it. “Don’t push yourself too hard,” he told her, “look what happened to me.” He chuckled lightly in spite of himself. Maybe he wouldn’t have been so torn up if he hadn’t of been out patrolling when he knew he was under the weather. Ever since his meeting with Evette, he knew he had not been in prime condition, but he had ignored the warning signs and kept on pushing.
And now he was stuck in bed, forced to let a young girl look after him. It was taking up both of their time, which could have been better spent doing more important things. Like protecting people or creating order. “You don’t have to stay, you know,” he told her faintly, “there must be more important things for you to be doing than looking after some old man like me.” He imagined she still wanted to find her titan friends- it seemed unlikely that she had found time between meditating and tending to him to really search for them.
He coughed again, struggling to breathe for a moment before it settled once more. Then, he turned his head to his bedside table, where the now empty glass of water sat patiently. “I wouldn’t mind some water,” he said, answering her question belatedly, “my throat is raw… I keep coughing up bits of blood…”

But after his reaction when she had tried to calm the emotional climate yesterday, the Titan didn't think that it would be a good idea to go against his wishes. “That’s alright, It’s not too bad, I was just complaining for the sake of it.” Raven rolled her eyes. "If you prefer, but don't try to be a hero. You can't dispel the discomfort, I can." [/b] Raven pointed out as a matter of fact. She preferred taking away pain than letting it remain. Sinestro's coughing seemed weak and Raven noted that worry almost went through her. The large amounts of meditation had really put her emotions away. Now the sound lead to a more practical like of thinking. "Raising your top half might help with any respiratory problems, like making coughing less frequent. Do you have more pillows?"[/b] The Titan asked, looking around. One problem with helping was Raven's knowledge was all based on books, living with monks and not getting any illnesses (especially as she wasn't on earth until she was 14). Of course, the extra pillows wouldn't help with his inability to appear to find a comfortable position, her indigo eyes had picked up the shifting as he searched for a position to lie in. But Raven paused to feed Sora, the kitten was well and growing and needed her food and Raven did worry about the kitten after her past. As she returned and tried to encourage Sinestro to eat, Raven noticed as he attempted to sit up. She still thought that propping himself up slightly with pillows would be better. “I see,” The teenager wondered how much Sinestro understood. “Don’t push yourself too hard,” That was something to consider, Raven had never really thought that she might be pushing herself. “look what happened to me.” "I'll try not to get sick. But if I do, I probably would just need to hang out some place cheerful."[/b] Raven said, although she didn't sound too enthusiastic about that idea. Too much cheer wasn't something she liked. “You don’t have to stay, you know,” Raven frowned as she heard this. “there must be more important things for you to be doing than looking after some old man like me.”"I enjoy helping. When I was younger I refused to fight. I just healed and teleported people around. Besides, I doubt there is much that I could be doing and I... find spending time with you pleasant. I enjoy spending time with you. But if you want me to go, I can leave."[/b] Raven offered. She didn't want to force her presence on the sick alien but she did want to leave him in case Sinestro got worse. Raven looked at the glass, which was empty and guessed that the water had been useful. “I wouldn’t mind some water,” With that Raven put the two thermal flasks down and in the corner. She doubted that he would be using it soon. “my throat is raw… I keep coughing up bits of blood…” Raven stopped, glass in hand, before rapidly teleporting into the kitchen, filling it with water and teleporting back and holding it out for Sinestro. "Coughing up blood isn't good. Are you certain you are not going to contact Soranik?"[/b] Raven asked, hoping that Sinestro was not going to play the hero until the point of no return. Playing the hero was generally something to avoid. [/blockquote][/div] [/style]

D E A T HVengeance ran deep within the veins of a being currently stalking the pair. Not both but rather one. Thaal Sinestro had ran through worlds and left nothing behind. Lives were destroyed, parents taken from their children. One had lived from a world that now had no name. After her children were murdered, her husband slaughtered she used her own mystics to leave the realm before it was obliterated. She had taken refuge on Earth as her energy and power had been drained from the cloaking of her spell that allowed her no death as well as traveling many years across space until she found one that he had not touched. The woman lost her name, her world, her family which left nothing but the color red in her vision. She would end him, fast or slow, it didn't matter. His death was one that consumed her every thought and when he popped up on plant Earth she remembered a shiver of excitement run down her spine. This was her opportunity. Over the weeks she did what the humans called 'stalking'. It didn't take long to find him as one aspect of her powers allowed her to look past the magics of a persona and feel their aura. She could recognize him above all else. During her time of surveillance the magical being meditated as she gathered her all into herself. She knew what he was, a Green Lantern, and she knew full well his ring was a source of power. Tales had been told since she was a child of the Lanterns and what they did and she prayed she'd never run into one such as Sinestro. She was powerful though her victim had a bit more power to him. It didn't matter. She would take herself out along with Sinestro should she have to. Revenge was an ugly emotion and it practically radiated off of the alien. It was nothing but child's play to remain cloaked and follow them underwater. Sinestro was injured and now was the best opportunity to reveal herself and carry out her last wish. He was with the woman who went by the name Raven. The Titan was powerful though the alien cared not. She knew full well how to handle herself in battle. The being appeared to be a petite blonde woman though her true form she was so much more. Her true form she stood at seven feet tall with blonde hair that reached to her waist. Her eyes were pale white all around as well as her pupil though her iris was a lavender color, the men of her world held a light green. Her legs would be toned and muscles as well as her biceps. Her skin just as fair as the snow that fell upon her land for months at a time. She walked to the center of the room, still invisible to the eye as her right hand raised up level to her chest. Energy pulled into her palm as it shot off towards Raven, directly aimed, as it colored into a pale blue color. She allowed her magic to reveal herself as her brows were furrowed, a sneer placed upon her lips with her head bowed. "Thaal Sinestro, I am Death and I am here to take your miserable existence," She said with rage as she raised her hand once more and directed an energy blast at Sinestro. She wanted him in pain, the pain that her children felt. She wanted him to feel those agonizing moments of his life when he realized he was about to meet his end. She wanted him to feel fear, pain. Everything of which her children had to suffer through.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] She told him not to be a hero about it. It was almost enough to make him chuckle. Like he could really be a hero about anything- he imagined she meant that he shouldn’t try to act like he could handle everything on his own. Not to suffer through without looking for help if he needed it. But he had already done that, hadn’t he? She had helped him already, more than he would have liked, and there was little he could do to repay. It didn’t seem like he needed to add to his debts to her at that point. Still, perhaps if he felt there was something he really couldn’t handle, he would let her ease some of his discomfort. Until that moment arrived, he would try not to put any of his own pain onto her.
Didn’t seem entirely fair, even if he was willing to accept her help.
He had plenty of time to think things over as she explained her desire to help and went to get him something to drink, though by the time she had returned with the water he was no closer to letting her help him out than when she had left. But hey, water was a good thing. He took the glass from her, taking a sip from it without letting himself look as ravenously thirsty as he actually happened to be. Coughing softly, he sighed, nodding a thank you for the small bit of relief. It did calm the fire in his throat, if only temporarily.
“That’s better,” he muttered, though more to himself than the young girl lending him a hand. She didn’t seem that interested in how much he liked the water- she was asking him whether or not he was going to contact his daughter about his little health problem. Frowning, he took a thoughtful moment to consider his options. Asking for help would make him look weak, or like some kind of attempt to continue their little bonding moment. Not asking for help meant suffering more with a strange illness his weakened body couldn’t fully fight on its own. Neither road seemed a particularly fun path to travel, but it was not like there was a third option waiting for him. With a bit of a groan, he made his choice.
“I don’t think it’ll be necessary to call Soranik. I believe I’ve likely passed the worst of it. To call her in now would be a waste of time.” He knew it probably wasn’t the answer she had been hoping for, but he had never claimed to be someone looking to make others happy. His own interests were still more important than anyone else’s.
Go figure.
He was about to ask her something, mostly in hopes to distract her from making a fuss about him, when she was suddenly slammed by some kind of energy-based attack. “Raven!” He yelped, his eyes instantly snapping in the direction the blast had come from. The woman, who had somehow managed to get into his base both without being detected and without being crushed by the depths of the water, spoke, and Sinestro frowned.
Well, she probably wasn’t a fan if she wanted to take his existence.
The blast of energy caught him in the chest, slamming him against the head of the bed. With a grunt, he did his best not to consider what kind of damage it may have done, leaping from the bed to get to his feet. His green and black uniform appeared over him once more, and in an instant he was ready for a fight. At least in appearance, anyway. His body was still heavy and difficult to control, his fever making it hard to focus. All the same, he wasn’t about to let someone randomly show up in his base and make a fool of him. Not to mention the fact that she had hurt his new friend.
Raising his shaking hand, he pointed a wobbling ring at her, struggling to keep it straight on his target. “Let me guess,” he snarled, “I killed someone you loved and now you’re here for revenge. Cry me a damn river.”
Power levels 58%
“What?” Sinestro frowned, though his eyes remained locked on the target in front of him. His ring power hadn’t been so low… was something pulling the energy from his weapon? He imagined his new target hadn’t come unprepared, then. All it meant was that he would have to finished her off quickly.
Power levels 46%
Very quickly.
So he shot a blast of energy at her, hoping the shot didn’t end up going too wild and smashing into a wall. Breaking the base apart meant the death of all of them. His ring was still losing energy, and blasting an attack had only seemed to make it drain exponentially faster. Growling, he readied himself, aware he might have to switch to hand-to-hand combat before the fight was over.

However, the Titan knew that when sick it was best to take little sips to slowly add the water to the body. Sinestro coughed and Raven moved forward, slightly, hoping that she might be able to help. “That’s better,” Raven was glad that it was helping, although with the news that he had been coughing up blood, Raven was certain that Soranik should be called in. Coughing up blood was never a good thing. The red skinned alien appeared to be done with the glass for now and Raven took it and placed the glass back on the bedside table. "Just tell me when you need more water." [/b] Raven told Sinestro. But Sinestro did not seem keen on the idea of getting help, the Titan could tell from his emotions and facial expression. “I don’t think it’ll be necessary to call Soranik. I believe I’ve likely passed the worst of it. To call her in now would be a waste of time.” Raven raised a delicate eyebrow at Sinestro's words. "Coughing up blood isn't too common a symptom with the flu."[/b] Raven commented although she had never heard of the flu leading the victim to cough up blood. Maybe it had improved since then, but it still bothered the Titan. Just then something blasted into Raven, hitting her full in the chest. The Titan flew backwards with the force, suprise registering within her. It was rare that someone could sneak up on Raven, she could sense emotions, that allowed her to detect life reasonably enough. But she barely had time to think this, in fact, the teenager didn't have time to consider her suprise as she crashed into a wall, winded. Dazed, the Titan wished she had the chance to teleport somewhere before landing, or turning into her soul self. “Raven!” Sinestro's voice sounded faint to the Titan and she began to assess herself for injury, automatically. The blast had winded her - for now she would be no use in a fight - no bones were broken or cracked but if her healing didn't come into play she would have a bruise on her back. Her front felt like it was on fire. Lying against the wall, the half demon blinked, her head had been hit when she had been flung against the wall and she felt something warm trickiling down to her neck. Focusing her healing powers to her head, Raven also diverted some to her chest. The effect of magic could be very bad. Still, the girl felt like a fish out of water as she tried to oxygenate herself. This enemy was powerful, capable of cloaking herself from the daughter of Trigon. With her head healing, her indigo eyes began to focus and she noticed that Sinestro was up and in his costume. I need to get back into the fight. The Titan thought, struggiling to get back up. Breathing was becoming easier and her vision was clearing. The emotions from New York were not too far away to prevent the Titan from using them. The hope and happiness that she isolated from the people were increasing her healing. “Let me guess, I killed someone you loved and now you’re here for revenge. Cry me a damn river.” Another person with something against Sinestro, the Titan thought about Sora the kitten who had gotten in the way last time. Hopefully the kitten wouldn't get harmed now. Struggiling to stand up, Raven leaned against the wall. Her breathing was almost back to normal now. Healing almost complete, or as complete as she would get a chance. Eyes turned to face the danger, it appeared to be an alien and Raven frowned, could she get involved. Now, with her emotions seperated her mind came into power. Could she get involved in the fight? Would she represent earth? The Titan couldn't allow danger to come to her home. But Sinestro needed her help. My help isn't too much at the moment. The Titan thought as she continued to heal herself. “What?” Something appeared to be going wrong, other than the fact that Sinestro had just been attacked. Raven wondered how easy it would be to teleport Sinestro and herself away from danger. But the attacker had magic, she would probably just follow. Or possibly wreck havoc on the planet. A blast caught her attention, Sinestro had gone on the attack. Her head was clearing, she was no longer dazed and her breathing was even now. The pain was ebbing away and she focused on feeling the emotional environment. Rage and revenge was emitting from the attacker with such force that Raven almost backed away as the emotion hit her. Maybe there was a way to reason with the attacker? Raven, when she had control over herself, much prefered to try and solve things peacefully. "Calm yourself. Revenge is not needed."[/b] Raven said, still leaning agains the wall for some support, the girl trying to calm the emotions down. But they were strong and wrath (or rage) was something she could not change without some serious after effects.[/blockquote][/div] [/style]

D E A T HThey had their concerns, she knew all too well. How had she managed to become standing here in this very spot. Sinestro was powerful, the girl she knew not. Though her aura was one of power, it gave off the empath, one that she knew very well. There had been four empaths present upon the Council back on her planet. Her husband and been the High Priest while she had been the High Priestess. They had been gifted by Mother Earth with the ability to tap into life and thus powered their magic. They were peaceful creatures who hunted their food and busied themselves with their land. Several times did they have invaders, beings who wanted nothing more than to enslave their tribe or kill and take from them in any ways they felt they wanted. But none as powerful as the Green Lantern present in the room. He took everything from her. He showed concern over the blast that had hit his friend. Her blue eyes flicked over to the teenager as she hit the floor then looked back at Thaal now in his Lantern uniform. If a fire could be seen in a person's eyes then it would be alive and roaring within her own. He looked just as he did the night he slaughtered everyone. Death raised her head as she looked down at him. Silently she began a spell in which started to draw the energy from his ring at a rather quick pace. She intended on using his own power to kill him, a revenge tacit he could appreciate. “Let me guess,” he snarled, “I killed someone you loved and now you’re here for revenge. Cry me a damn river.”"I'd rather drown you, with the river," She spoke gravely, her smile spread as he realized his ring was losing power at an alarming rate. He cursed and she tilted her head to the side very stiffly, almost alien like. This brought her joy. The girl had taken a moment for herself and rose from the ground. Her head turned towards Raven though her remained draining Thaal of his power. "Leave now. I have no quarrel with you. Should you chose to stay then you'll suffer the same face as this bastard," She said as her turned her head back to Sinestro, a smile upon her face. The energy channeled itself through Sinestro as it came to a head in the ring. Her hands came up in that moment as it had shot towards her. She caught the destructive energy in the center of her hands and held it in front of her stomach. She merely looked up and without further warning sent the blast back at Sinestro while adding a bit more of her own magic to it. "Calm yourself. Revenge is not needed." Her right hand shot outwards as she directed something wicked at the girl. The spell was meant to cause severe pain inside the brain of the teenager. Something tearing and ripping, searing pain that would go on and on. "Your final warning, little one. Go now."-------- What the character's true form is like thus the using of her face: Click

Sora had been out researching, she hadn't heard anything from Sinestro in a few days, she imagined that this whole ordeal had been a lot harder for him than her, but imagining that just seemed silly. This was HELL for her. Then again, it was a good kind of pain and she was mature enough to recognize it. She had gotten long out of the habit of bothering to contact her dear old dad via ring, since he just ignored it any ways, so she decided to do the next best thing and pay him and his lonely self some company. She had no idea what she was getting into.
"Dad, I was thi- OH MY GOD"
Soranik had begun to speak as she phased through the wall into the living room, then she realized just exactly what was happening and it took her exactly two seconds longer to decide what to do. She saw that Sinestro was sick with her various scans she always conducts on people, she had no idea how that even happened. But beyond that, he's also injured. And so is Raven. By the same unquantifiable particles that much of raven's body is made up of. Magic.
"Father! Why didn't you call me if you were sick! Uhg!"
She sounded utterly put out at Sinestro's attitude, the magical woman in the room didn't seem at all a cause for concern, but Soranik knew deep down, if she'd gotten the jump on Sinestro, she was a threat, if she was, gasp, beating him, then things were dire indeed. Still, they're at the bottom of the ocean, and Raven can not survive down here like they can. Raven was the top priority at that moment.
"Raven, to me!"
She knows Sinestro can take care of himself, but down here in the depths of the ocean, things were glaringly dangerous for Raven who seems to be rather under duress. She seems to have no idea that what ever they are fighting can drain their powers.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Alright, so her catching his energy blast and sending it back at him hadn’t been what he had thought would happen. The ball of magic and lantern energy moved too quickly for his weakened body to dodge, the lantern taking a hit square in his chest. It sent him hurtling back, slamming against the thick metal wall of his underwater compound. Gasping as all the air left his lungs, he sank to his knee for a moment, struggling to catch his breath in the wake of the attack. His mind, however, was ordering him to move, telling him that he needed to get some kind of attack in while his ring still had energy. He wouldn’t have much of a window before she attacked again, and once he was out of power he knew he would be in certain trouble. Slowly, he pushed himself to his feet, shaking off the pain in his chest.
And then Soranik showed up.
Immediately, she got on his case about being ill, not even taking into consideration the threat in the room. She really was just like him, caring more about what was on her own mind than anything else. Had their places been swapped, he likely would have done the same sort of thing, though perhaps he wouldn’t have been so inclined to help right off the bat. Hey, he was still learning to work with others properly again.
“I’m not sick!” he ranted, his mind slipping away from the attack for just a moment as he countered Soranik, “I just have a little cold or ‘flu’ as Raven called it.” It was a good thing the intruder was more interested in causing Raven pain at that moment than hurting him, since it gave him more time to pull himself together and snap at his daughter. He couldn’t, however, find a suitable moment to revel in the fact that she had called him dad when she had entered. Again!
Power levels: 19%.
Right – he needed to get back to work. Letting Soranik tend to Raven, Sinestro re-aligned his sights on the woman who had called herself Death. A fitting name, since he was going to make sure she was nothing more than a smear on his floor. Assuming he could actually hit her. With her focus on Raven, he launched himself suddenly forward, creating a construct sword with what little remained of his power as the rest of it went into giving him a boost of speed. He shot himself directly towards her, ignoring any attempt at a counter attack, the best he could anyway, as he swung his sword down towards her in an effort to get at least some damage dealt. After the attack, the sword vanished, as did the green energy around his body.
Power levels: 0%
It beeped before shutting down, the glow fading completely while his green and black suit fled from his body, leaving him in only some black pants.
Well… that wasn’t good.
(I’ll leave whether the attack hits or not up to you!)

[/size] [style=width:430; height:490; background-color:070014; padding:5; text-align:justify; font-family:verdana; font-size:11px; color:78747F; overflow:auto] Glancing around, Raven noted that Sinestro had been thrown into a wall. Things were not going well and the Titan felt herself almost completely healed. Well, that was a benefit. "I'd rather drown you, with the river," The attacker spoke in reply to Sinestro and Raven wondered whether this could be resolved peacefully. After all the meditation, Raven was more inclined to avoiding conflict, especially when emotions were involved. "Leave now. I have no quarrel with you. Should you chose to stay then you'll suffer the same face as this bastard," "I have no quarrel with you either, but this fight is not right." [/b] Raven replied, before sensing a new presence. "Dad, I was thi- OH MY GOD" Soranik had entered and Raven looked at the doctor. Thankfully the half demon didn't need any healing yet. She was almsot healed, although she noticed Sinestro's emotionally response to being called 'Dad' and the girl smiled to herself. Pushing away from the wall, Raven felt that she was healed and ready to get involved, although she was still worried that she could bring earth into the conflict. The girl remembered a disturbing time when she had travelled to find her father, who had lost his wars due to stretching his army too much. War and fighting were not too good. "Father! Why didn't you call me if you were sick! Uhg!" Raven could not help awarding herself with a small flash of smugness, that was gone almost as soon as it came. After all, the teenager had suggested to Sinestro that he talk to his daughter. “I’m not sick!” Sinestro was still denying it and Raven wondered how easy it was to deny something like that to a doctor. “I just have a little cold or ‘flu’ as Raven called it.”Raven was about to inform Soranik some more on the subject, when the attacker turned towards her and then pain ripped through Raven's head. Physical pain was nothing, it was something that she could heal, something that Raven was willing to deal with. Attacks on the mind was another. A short scream sounded and then the teenager moaned as she sunk to the floor, head in her hands. The pain was unbelievable and it was at that moment that Raven decided that she would join in. "Your final warning, little one. Go now.""You have made a mistake."[/b] Raven said softly as she tried to deal with the headache that ripped through her head. The girl had power and although she was loath to use it, especially so early one, it was a back up, a last resort. "Raven, to me!" Raven looked up, trying to focus on the voice that had called her name. Indigo eyes locked on Soranik as Raven tried to fight through the headache. Movement caught her attention, Sinestro was attacking while the stranger's attention was on Raven. Sinestro's power suddenly failed. Not good. Raven registered. Then, she transformed into her soul self, using it to aim towards the alien and to try and grab her and chuck her away from Sinestro and Soranik, before teleporting to the alien doctor. With her spliting headache, Raven was unsure whether she had managed to have been of much use. "Do you have a plan?"[/b] Raven asked, although there didn't seem to be any emotion, apart from a slight negative tone. The teleporting had helped to throw some of the headache and Raven hoped that it was slowly leaving her. "Sora, the kitten. She's still in here."[/b] Raven muttered, fingers rubbing her temples as she focused on dispelling the headache. It wasn't easy and Raven was attempting to use her ability of healing but to modify it. Did she need to remove the kitten, the building was underwater and if Sora kitten got in the line of fire... again... Raven shook the thought from her head. Sinestro was in the most danger. I could show the attacker their nightmares. I could make her scared, make her fear us. Raven thought, wondering how to rid the attacker. A trip into Raven's soul self would reveal their nightmares, although Raven disliked using her power like that. Manipulating emotions also wasn't too nice, but when a life was involved... it was the lesser of two evils.[/blockquote][/div] [/style]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Sinestro’s attack had been aimed as well as the sick Korugaran could manage, but it was not good enough to do him any favors. The green blade sliced right through the air in front of the woman’s nose, the devilish being having pulled back almost casually to avoid the blow. As the sword dispersed into nothingness, she raised her hand, placing it right at Sinestro’s side as he touched down on the floor after his attack had failed. It took less than a second for her to summon a ball of energy and fling him across the room, sending him crashing into a wall just behind Soranik and Raven. As he sank to the floor, his consciousness left him, though only for a moment. At least, that’s what it had felt like for him. Mere seconds. However, when he looked up again, he imagined more time had elapsed than his mind had perceived.
Their enemy had recovered from an attack sent her way by Raven, and had returned the favor with another, stronger mental attack than the one that had come previously. Though Sinestro couldn’t guess how painful the attack might have been, he knew it was likely causing the young titan a great deal of agony.
As he struggled to get himself to his feet, Soranik seemed to leap into the fight, protecting Raven the best she could from any further attacks from the woman who called herself Death. But, unfortunately for the lot of them, Soranik’s ring soon suffered the same draining effect that had left Sinestro’s ring useless. Her power was flittering away, he could see it, but he took pride in seeing her continue to fight. A true lantern- no fear at all. Looking down at his feet, he noticed his kitten had come seeking some comfort, frightened by all the fighting and chaos. Scooping her up, Sinestro moved to one of the computers, hitting a couple of buttons before limping his way back over to the two young ladies. The injury in his side was slowing him down, but he knew he couldn’t leave them to fight off the woman all on their own.
Which was why he unlocked the security measures to unleash hell on the intruder. All they needed to do was vacate, as the guns that popped out from the walls would target and fire at anything that happened to be in the room. It was meant to protect, or perhaps destroy the place in the event of someone sneaking in trying to steal technology or information. Someone trying to kill them all should be a decent target, too.
“Get us topside, Soranik,” he breathed, gripping his cat so the last of his crew was together for the escape. He let Soranik and her ring energy transport them up and out of the now livid base, just as a slurry of guns opened fire on the alien figure still inside. Sinestro imagined, with her magic, she wouldn’t be troubled long by the defenses, but it should at least by them some time to get out of there and think of just how they were going to kill the bitch. Perhaps Soranik’s ring would have enough energy for them to-
No, no it wouldn’t.
His plans were already cut short as they touched down on the beach, Soranik’s uniform vanishing just as his had, replaced with nothing more than a tank top and a pair of jeans. With her ring drained dry just as his, he knew it was going to be just a little bit harder to beat their foe. Yes, beat. He didn’t care about escape.
He wanted her dead.
Kitten Sora hadn’t wanted to stick around after they had touched down, wiggling free from Sinestro’s grasp and running up the beach towards dry land. Sinestro imagined it was probably for the best. If they survived, they would be able to find her. If they didn’t, well, then perhaps she would be able to find someone else to look after her. Ether way, it seemed like she wouldn’t be completely lost.
He didn’t want her to die, when she was just an animal who had no idea what was going on around her.
Frowning, Sinestro took a look around the beach, his eyes following Soranik’s lead as she pointed out a small boat house nearby to them. Since she seemed more familiar with human things than he was, he had no problem following her lead towards the small shed to see what was inside that they might be able to use. If a base full of guns wouldn’t be enough to stop the woman, he wasn’t so sure a shed with boating gear would be very helpful. Until he looked inside and saw the place was brimming with old, unkempt gas canisters, leaking and screaming “I’m a ticking time bomb!”
Another point for his daughter.
“This should be good,” he hummed, moving inside to re-decorate the building a bit. He moved some of the canisters around, making sure everything aligned in a way that would trigger a series of explosions if met with the right conditions. He didn’t want the trap failing because there had been too much room between things, or because there had been an empty canister at the point where he would hopefully be able to set things off. Lining the floor with more of the flammable liquid would only boost their chances of destruction, allowing more room from any kind of spark to prove severely deadly. Who knew such a small, unassuming little building, made of rotting wood and plaster, could turn into an impressive death trap?
As they were working to set things up, Sinestro heard a boom of sorts emerge from the ocean. Peering out of a small window confirmed what he had already assumed would happen eventually- Death had joined them on the beach. But Raven was there to meet her, at least while the two korugarans continued to secure the boat house from some rough and tumble adventures. As Sinestro made sure things were ready, Soranik discovered a human weapon tucked behind from planks of debris wood- a shotgun, loaded and ready. It looked like it had seen better days, but as long as it was operable, it didn’t really matter how shiny it was. Since it sounded like Raven was losing her fight with the demonic alien, she ran out of the shed to try and help with her new non-shiny gun.
Sinestro went after her, armed with nothing more than a rusted pipe he had discovered on the floor. In his defense, though, she had already taken the good weapon in the base. He watched as Raven hit the ground, cursing under his breath that he had left her to defend them against such a strong opponent. Death turned her sights on a finishing blow against the young titan, and Sinestro saw Soranik raise her weapon in defense. Unfortunately, their enemy noticed, too, and blasted an energy attack at her just as she fired. The ball of magic and bullet passed one another like ships in the night, both slamming into their targets without missing a beat.
“Sora!” Yelped Sinestro, watching his daughter fall, plopping heavily into the soft sand beneath her. He hadn’t seen where the attack had hit, but he didn’t need to- just the fact that she had been wounded at all was more than enough to send him into a blind fury. Both Raven and his own daughter had been knocked out because of this… being, and because she had wanted revenge against him for his past actions.
They shouldn’t have been a part of things.
He charged forward, raising the metal pole and slamming it down on the attacker’s head even before she’d fully managed to get herself back to her feet after the shotgun attack had knocked her down. He slammed the weapon down around her head, pretty much a wild animal looking to maul its next meal for fun before nomming it to nothingness. She responded by keeping one hand up over her head, a magic shield on her arm blocking most of his attacks. With her other hand, she took hold of his right leg, chanting something under her breath before a red glow pulsed around her fingers.
Suddenly, it felt like the bone inside his leg had been splintered into hundreds of pieces. He gave a yell of pain, barely having time to stumble back before Death pulled herself up and slammed her shield into his chin, sending him hurtling over the sands before landing on his back. Good thing sand was fairly soft. Groaning, he rolled himself onto his stomach, still gripping the metal pole he had been using to beat his assailant senseless. Speaking of, his own senses were starting to clear, a realization that he didn’t need to be wasting his energy when he had a trap waiting and ready for her settling in. As angry as he was that Soranik had been injured by this thug, he still needed to try and keep himself composed.
He couldn’t let himself take another spell like whatever she had just done to his leg. She was already on her feet, and he needed to climb to his. His pole went from weapon to crutch, the man using it to get himself supported. There was simply no chance of him using his leg at that point- she had broken it, to put it mildly. Panting heavily, he braced himself as she shot forward to attack again, making sure he had placed himself in front of the shed. It didn’t matter if she knocked the hell out of him, as long as she did it towards the building. After what felt like an eternity, she did eventually knock him right into the shed, slamming him against an old shelf, knocking the contents down around him. They rolled around in the gasoline, Sinestro leaning against the wall right at the opposite end of the door as he gasped pathetically for air. She was just in front of him in the doorway, grinning confidently, like someone with all the right cards in their hand. Sinestro smiled faintly at her, chuckling between coughs.
“Why are you laughing?” she demanded, “even your own death is meaningless in your eyes?” she snarled, raising her hand towards him. He continued to grin, clenching his left hand as he focused on summoning any strength still lurking within him. Any will. All his will.
“Not meaningless,” he told her, “just well planned.”
There it was- one tiny spark from his green ring, with all the will power he could have summoned driving an otherwise dead tool to produce the smallest of twinkles. The spark hit the floor, igniting the gasoline and sending flames roaring suddenly between them. Before the alien even had a chance to curse at him, the building exploded. Sending flames and debris shooting off in all directions.
Aliens, too.
Sinestro was shoved away from the collapsed building, crashing through the weak wall and rolling along the sand towards the shore line. He hit the sand on his stomach and didn’t move, his battered, burnt body seemingly lifeless. But he wasn’t dead- he could feel every ounce of pain he happened to be in, and even the light touch of cool waves gently brushing against his right side. He was just at the edge of the shore, almost as though he were enjoying the water before death took him over. The wrong Death came to meet him. Though he couldn’t move, he could hear something emerge from the debris of the boat house. Instantly, he knew she had managed to survive, and probably in much better shape than he had. She was moving towards him. Soon, he knew he would be gone- she would get her victory after all. And then, perhaps, she would kill Raven and Soranik too.
He had failed.
Then, something strange happened. He sensed a sudden surge of fear, all coming from the alien who had wanted his head on a platter. From the smallest fears, to her deepest, darkest turmoil, he could suddenly sense every single one of them, as though they had all been triggered at once. Never before had he been so overwhelmed by someone else’s fright. It was almost enough to make him shiver along with her. The fear disappeared, slowly, as he assumed the woman took flight. What had happened, he couldn’t say- all he had heard were muffled voices under a loud ringing in his ears from the blast. Had it been Raven? Had she somehow made the woman feel all her worst fears, to send her away from the battle?
It seemed like the most logical of notions, as he couldn’t imagine she had suddenly lost all her confidence just because he had managed to explode a building around her.
Exhausted, he coughed weakly, closing his eyes again. It was impossible for him to tell if the battle was really over or not, but he knew he no longer had a role in it either way. His body refused to move, as though it had completely shut down. He didn’t want to imagine how he looked at that point, he was just hoping the explosion hadn’t burned his pants off. Dying naked always seemed so… unsavory, especially with a kid around.
His eyes still closed, the ringing in his ears faded away, all sound leaving him as he was taken by a dark, encompassing unconsciousness. A darkness he knew he would likely not wake from again.
It was strange. All his ambitions. All his lofty goals. Everything he had planned to accomplish that he had never gotten to, and yet he didn’t feel upset. If Soranik and Raven, even little kitten Sora, were alright, then he didn’t need to be frustrated.
He only regret was not being able to say goodbye to his daughter.
