Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Powergirl could see that Superboy was upset and it pained her. She knew what that felt like and seeing him in this state was heart wrenching. It's pretty obvious on her face to, the curl of her lips, the soft little pout, the sadness in her eyes. She's empathetic to his situation, she understands and wants to help. When he calls himself a freak, Karen moves over closer to him.
"Hey, Don't talk like that sweetie, you're not a freak. We can't define ourselves by what we can not do, we must define ourselves by what we can do. Including rising to the occasion."
Her voice is totally girlish and almost motherly, she moves in a bit closer and offers her arms out to him, if he wants a hug, he can take it. After a moment, Karen realizes he might not know what a hug is, so she just leans in and gives it to him. She is pensive, delicate, nurturing, and compassionate.
"It's okay if you don't know where you're going...most people don't. But I'm here to tell you I am going to help. I wont leave you alone. I promise."
There's a genuine empathy in Karen's voice. She meant every word she said whole heartedly. She's very strong willed, she knows deep down she'll never be like Superman, because Clark isn't human, he may have been at one point, but he has transcended humanity and now lives as an ideal goal for all men and women to strive for. Karen strives for it, she knows she has her flaws, but in moments like these, she really feels like she would be doing him proud. Even if she has a less than great relationship with him in general.

Superboy wondered how Powergirl could even say he wasn't a freak. It wasn't that he was from a different universe or world or planet or that he couldn't do things he should be able to do or any number of other things that made him a freak. What made him a freak was his anger. His rage. The fact he couldn't differentiate his own emotions or others. The fact he was grown in a test tube.
Superboy couldn't comprehend how anyone could ever understand how he felt. He couldn't understand how someone could feel empathy for him. Superboy wasn't even sure if he was counted as a living person. He was a weapon. A living weapon. How could someone feel bad for a weapon? It wasn't meant to be something with feelings or empathy or sympathy or forgiveness. No it was meant to do what it's creator told it to do.
But Superboy refused. He wanted to believe there was a bigger picture. That he could be good. That he was more than just a clone or a weapon or some test tube science experiment. He wanted to believe he could be like Superman. Superboy noticed the motherly and caring tone in Powergirl's voice, but he didn't understand what it meant. He could only tell it wasn't hostile.
When she opened her arms it confused him even more. He had no idea what she was doing and just before he was about to ask what, she hugged him. He didn't know what this meant either which made him feel dumb. Not knowing what was going on despite it was simple and even a baby could comprehend it.
"How could anyone understand," Superboy said backing off, "I wasn't born or raised or anything. I was grown in a test tube. I'm an escaped science project. Made only for the soul purpose to destroy anything that got in Cadmus' way. I don't even understand what the hell has been going on around me since I escaped. Look at me! I'm what sixteen, maybe twenty weeks old? I look like I'm sixteen. That's not normal! And I'm always angry."

Karen couldn't really understand that. She could recognize that her demeanor and charisma were failing her though. She wondered if clark would have as much trouble. When he doesn't reciprocate the hug, she doesn't force him into it any more, though she is genuinely surprised he isn't utterly consumed with interest in her incredibly present and impossible to miss breasts, which are gorgeously huge and right at eye level for him. She reasoned it was his anger, being consumed by any one emotion left little room for others.
"Alright try this...It's quiet out here...you have to try to calm down. Here, sit down with me."
She said, as she slowly lowered down into the snow, it was cold against her bare thighs and the bare parts of her butt, but she didn't mind. Cold felt good for her, it was never a bad experience, since she couldn't feel pain from it. She sits with her legs crossed and pats the spot in front of her for Conner to sit.
"Sit down and close your eyes, be still and just focus on the area around you. Hear the rustle of the leaves in the trees, the sounds of the wild life. Be still, be calm, clear your mind....It might seem impossible at first, but give it a try, please?"
She hopes he'll try, she isn't sure what she'll do if he doesn't. She might have to give clark a call and get him out here. Or try and think of something else to distract him.

Even had Superboy felt any attraction or anything he wouldn't of known what it was. He wouldn't of understood it which meant that it would just make him angrier. Like everything else he didn't understand. Superboy raised an eyebrow at Karen's words as she lowered herself into the snow. He didn't really understand what she was doing and to him she looked crazy. It seemed stupid. Just sitting in the snow calms ones self down? Superboy had never heard of such a thing. But he sat where she indicated copying her as he sat pretzel legged.
As Karen went on Superboy began to understand more and more what she was saying. He had heard of people doing similar things to what Powergirl was telling him to do. Superboy tried his best to calm himself as he sat there. He tried to clear his mind. "Like the Tibetan monks, right," Superboy asked as he tried to do what she said? It was difficult, but the fog slowly began to lift and his mind began to clear. Unfortunately as this happened, his super hearing began kicking in more and more. Every little sound was began booming. He could everything for miles and miles around him. It was annoying. It was frustrating. It made him want to rip off his ears. Why was he stuck with super hearing over flying? Or shooting beams of laser-like heat from his eyes?
"Ugh, this is useless," Superboy bellowed loudly after trying to do what Powergirl said! "When I clear my head everything seems so much louder. Super hearing can be so damn frustrating!"

Karen chuckles a little, not at Superboy's plight, but at his progress, she was glad he was making any progress at all. It made her feel proud, but Superboy probably wouldn't recognize the pride in her voice, hopefully he did though, she spoke with a soft determination though, ontop of that pride, which might be a bit more obvious. Her voice was tender, supportive, caring.
"Oh yes, Super hearing is very frustrating. Over time it gets even better and you'll be able to hear everything in the world. It requires focus. Control. You'll learn both these things. Continue to clear your mind and focus on the sound of my beating heart. I know it must seem incredibly quiet compared to the sounds of this wilderness we're in, but if you focus...you can learn control, and with that simple control, you can train yourself to listen only to what you wish to listen to."
His tibetan monk reference wasn't lost on her, she felt a little bit like Mister Miagi or something similar to that from some karate kid style movie she'd seen in recent years. But this wasn't a movie, it was real life. Clark had once taught her similar lessons, though she was taught by an older wiser superman than the one in this dimension.
"Now try again. Take it slowly. Take your time, we have all the time in the world. There is no need to rush. Be still and remember...control, here...and here."
Karen gestures towards her ears and then her heart, hopefully Superboy got the reference, but even if he didn't, he would learn by watching. Eventually, learned education and learned subtle nuance blend together. Idly in the back of her mind, she wonders what ever became of her clone, Divine. Had she even survived without Max Lord? Surely not...

Powergirl's chuckling seemed odd to him. Like when hearing an inside joke you're not a part of. He wondered what could be so funny to chuckle as he failed. It was confusing and Superboy had little patience with anything, never the less things he didn't understand and found confusing. He simply couldn't wrap his head around it. But this didn't entirely show on his face. He kept his signerature frown on his face. He found he always had at the least a small, displeased frown on his face.
Great. Another goal. Learning to control his super hearing. It getting better didn't help much. It seemed any time anything ever got better more stuff popped up that supposedly was going to get better as well. It was like some kind of endless pyramid game of life and Superboy didn't like games. As for control and patience? Please. He was more bull-headed than Luke Skywalker during Star Wars IV A New Hope. Control and patience wasn't his style. Brute force, anger, rage and rampage was more his style in recent times. Of course that was the outside. That was his anger seeping through his tearing seams.
Try again? Superboy had been doing nothing more than trying things over and over again ever since he escaped Cadmus. Trying was boring, tiring and repetitive. For once he wanted to actually accomplish something. To do something. Not to fail at trying to do something. But after reasoning that he wouldn't be able to escape from Powergirl should he try to leave and he couldn't beat her should he try to fight her, he decided to try again.
Superboy began to try again. Clearing his mind the best he could as he blocked out his emotions and thoughts and worries. All of his self-doubts, anger, insecurities and fears slowly descended to the back of his mind as he tried to accomplish Powergirl's directions. He tried focusing in on one thing as his super hearing grew and everything turned louder. It was frustrating and annoying. The wind whistling through the air. The snow covered trees ever so lightly moving in the chilled wind. He began slowly canceling out each sound he heard with great effort. It was a process of elimination as he cencentrater harder and deeper trying to pass through different sounds to get to the one he wanted. Then he did it. It was faint but he started to hear her heart beat. Or it could've been his. He really wouldn't of been able to tell the difference. But he could hear the faint beating of a hear. He concentrated on it and as he did so he heard it louder and louder as if it were magnifying or multiplating.
"I can hear it," Superboy said.

Karen almost wanted to clap, but being that this was an exercise in hearing, she knew that would be a bad idea. Slowly she lifted into the air. And began to float in a circle around Superboy.
"Alright, now keep focused on my heart beat...can you still hear it? Try and point to where I am. Keep your eyes closed, no peeking."
Little did Superboy know, Karen was slowly spiraling further and further away from him. She was carefully, delicately increasing the difficulty to push him to focus as much as he could. But she was slow. She didn't move super fast, he'd have plenty of time to find her heart beat again if he lost it. She isn't here to defeat him, she is here to train him, encourage him, give him self confidence and focus.

Superboy continued to concentrate as he struggled to block out the surrounding sounds and pinpoint Powergirls heartbeat. The beat always seemed to be just a step or two ahead of his hearing. As if it were taunting him.
He couldn't pinpoint the precise location of Powergirl just yet as he struggled to keep up. He had yet to even point as he tried to find the exact location. Then finally he got it. Like snapping his fingers. He found it, but then he lost it. And that angered him. He had the position and he lost it. It was pathetic in his mind and he had little patience for this or anything really.
"I had it and I lost it," Superboy said disgruntled as he tried to grasp at straws, figuratively of course. Once again i taunted him constantly one step ahead of him. Constantly besting his hearing as she slowly floated increasing the difficulty. Then Superboy decided not to follow it at all and pointed with his left hand where Powergirl was about to go based on the direction he heard the heartbeat going.

That made Powergirl proud, but it wasn't exactly what she had asked for. She hadn't been moving that quickly and when she heard that Superboy was having some trouble, she slowed down. Her goal was not to frustrate him though, he was able to block out all the sounds and at least follow her heart beat, which had been enough.
At that point she floated back in close and landed right infront Superboy, as she sat back down her bare knees brushed against his jean covered ones. She leans forward and gives him a pat on the shoulder, a gentle squeeze, and endearing little rub.
"You are doing great. Now let's try relaxing again. Clear your mind, close your eyes and think of nothing. Let your rage slip away and replace it with peace. Remember to maintain your hearing, focus on my heart beat if you need to."
Karen closes her own eyes, but uses xray vision to see through her own eye lids so she can watch superboy and see his facial expressions. She wants to keep a close eye on him, she is trying everything she knows. She is not cut out to be a teacher, and honestly works better with machines than people as far as teaching goes. she could program a robot to make herself breakfast easier than she could teach an angry young man to calm his mind.
More and more she thinks getting Kal El would be the best course of action. Time will tell.

Superboy felt Powergirl's knee brush up against his jean's and wondered if they were stopping. Then he felt her pat and the rub. It was peculiar. He cpouldn't even tell if it felt good, annoying or anything. He felt something from the endearing rub. It made his awkward. Very awkward, which he certainly didn't like. It made him feel stupid that he didn't understand what she was doing.
Confused and awkward, Superboy jerked away from the rub with his eye's still closed. The jerk was masked by anger but his awkwardness peeked through as well. He wished he could understand these things. He hated feeling stupid. He hated not knowing what was going on arlound him like some naive child.
Altogether it made him despise his creators even more. He tried to cover his naivity with anger and rage which was buildign inside. But he didn't know who to be mad at. Himself? What if he didn't understand because it was his fault? His creators? Was it some kind of flaw in their perfect weapon? Maybe the world for being so confusing? All the while this rage and anger burns, a secret self-loathing was manifesting underneath his skin. He hated being a clone. He was an abomination and never should've been created.
Superboy's discontent face showed his anger and impatientce as he tried again to do what Powergirl was telling him to do. He was groing more impatient with all of this. It annoyed him. He didn't understand why he had to do this. Why he had to calm and clear his mind. How could he? With everythign going on and everything he had to worry about at the moment. "Uh," Sperboy grunted as he stood up, "This is useless! How am I supposed to clear my mind with everything I have to worry about? And more importantly why do I have to!?"

She could sense Superboy's composure getting away from him again. When he stood up, she stood up as well and looked at him with discerning eyes. She was calm and collected and at first she wondered if she could do this. She knew how Clark would do it, he'd be patient and he wouldn't give up, so why should she? But Clark would have a different effect on Superboy. He has a different effect on every one.
"What do you have to worry about Superboy? Talk to me, tell me everything. Anything that comes to mind, just say it, even if you don't understand it, or if it feels weird."
She wanted this boy to trust her and she wanted to help him, but if she feels like she is out of options, she'll call for help. For now though, she is fairly certain things are still under control. If she isn't making any progress with superboy by the end of the day, she'll find Clark.

Superboy didn't know how to respond to Powergirl's kindness. It was strange. It was foreign to him. He couldn't comprehend everything that was happening and that channeled into his rage. He didn't want to be angry but with everything going on in his life - even if he qualified to have a life as there weren't exactly clear and written lines about clones in the constitution. He listened to her words.
They were compassionate and caring. Part of Suberboy wanted to tell her about everything. But he didn't understand how to say it. He didn't understand how to trust someone or how to talk to someone. The problems he had . . . he didn't even understand how to talk about them. How to put it into words.
"I . . . I don't know how to do that," Superboy said sincerity turning into anger half way through his sentence. He couldn't help but feel a boiling rage come to him. He felt like breaking something. Like punching something. Like throwing a temper tantrum even though part of him didn't want to. He just wanted to understand. To be able to get things the way other people did. He wondered if a clone could ever understand the way a human does. He just had so many questions that needed answering and no way to ask them. It was confusing, frustrating and extremely complicated.

Karen could say she felt a certain empathy for him, Talking about your feelings isn't always the easiest. Karen herself has always had sort of a hard time opening up to people for all the times she's been shut down or shut out of other peoples lives. It wasn't like the problem superboy was having, but she could still in some small way empathize with it.
"Sounds like you could use some counseling. But I'm not sure that's such a good idea. How about another question, what would you like to do right now? Just do it, and if it's violent, do it to me."
She knew his punches might sting a little, but she was ready to take them, there's no way he could seriously injure her and she'd rather he hit her or blast her with heat vision than blast the trees, start a fire and ruin some furry little critters home.
Maybe if Superboy can work through some of his rage, he'll unwind. Seemed like a pointless exercise though, since she knows full well when she is angry, hitting things doesn't help take the edge off. She can level a mountain and not feel better, because it doesn't take anything out of her, she doesn't get tired, she doesn't 'feel' it in her bones. It's all in her head, and she knows now that what ever superboy is going through is also all in his head.
But he's a clone, and by the looks of it, an imperfect clone, maybe there's some human DNA in there, and with it, maybe he can use a method the humans use to 'take out stress'.

(OOC: Sorry I'm late on the post I just got my laptop back late lst night)
The first sentence from Powergirl made his eyes narrow a bit as he clenched his hands and gritted his teeth behind his frown. He might not be the smartest or the most perfect person or clone, but he knew the world. If he couldn't tell his own cousin about his problems then how could he ever talk to some stranger he didn't know.
Yet before he could say anything he heard the rest of what she had to say. What did he want to do? He had absolutely no idea what he wanted to do. He never did. Then again, Superboy hadn't been around very long and all of his time and efforts had been devoted to finding Superman and training to try and develop his latent kryptonian powers. He never truly got a chance to try anything. There was no one to show him anything new.
But he knew one thing. He definitely felt like bashing something. To just pound into the ground or a criminal or something. But he was hesitant to hurt Powergirl. Since he had been born in that test tube at Cadmus the only person who had treated him nicely was Powergirl. He had no reason to hurt her. It was times like these he asked himself what would Superman do? But the truth is he didn't know what Superman would do. He had to grasp at straws and do what he thought Superman would do.
Standing straight Superboy unleashed the loudest scream he could muster. He kryptonian lungs allowing him to scream far beyond that of a human to the point it felt like the ground might start to shake any moment. It was ear-piercing, but it wasn't damaging his super hearing as he wasn't using it. It lasted about minute and noticeably much of the snow had fallen of the closest trees. He looked back at Powergirl as if nothing happened as it echoed.
"I don't want to hit you," Superboy said, "You didn't do anything to me." The scream had helped a bit for the moment, but his problems weren't something that could be fixed simply by releasing an ear-piercing scream. No. Superboy wasn't sure anything could fix all of his powers.
