Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

(Open to Sinestro, Justice League Members, Invite To One Other Villain Who Might Aid Grodd)
Gorilla City Two Weeks Before...
Gone...it was gone. The gift Solovar, the noble leader of Gorilla City had built for the Justice League in return for their aid in liberating Gorilla City from the reign of Grodd had been stolen. The gift was a device that would help cure mental illnesses. Solovar felt that the helmet-like device would help in rehabilitating the Justice League's many insane foes and therefore help end their war against evil.
Solovar quickly discovered the mystery behind the theft when one of his royal guards reported that Grodd had escaped the city's prison. But by that time, Grodd had fled the city, along with a small army of gorillas that he had used his mind control on. Solovar knew that Grodd would try to reverse the effects of his invention, and if he did so, the outside world was in grave peril.
Metropolis The Present...
Adamina West, one of Metropolis' most wealthy and respected socialites, had just successfully acquired over three million dollars for her favorite charity at a party she had given that night in the main ballroom of the Golden Goose Hotel. However, as she walked up to thank all her friends for their generosity, something strange happened to her. She suddenly began laughing madly. The next thing the guests knew she had grabbed the gun of one of the guards watching the money and began firing it into the crowd. She was finally restrained, but still laughed away like a raving lunatic.
Meanwhile in another part of Metropolis, Bernie Ward was receiving an award by the M.S.P.C.A. for all his tireless work in providing homes to dogs and cats in need of them. But shortly after he accepted the honor, he went mad as well, jumping the frightened crowd and acting like a rabid dog, attacking people at random.
And this was only the beginning..........

Reports crazed humans reacting around parts of time. He wouldn’t have bothered with it at all if they hadn’t happened so close to one another, and with such similarly random madness sparking up out of no where. While he hardly cared who got hurt, or what might end up getting stolen in the process, the ruse itself intrigued him.
Bringing about insanity, without any clear use of a chemical of some kind, was interesting enough. He imagined there had to be some kind of frequency or brain wave behind it, if his ring was having some difficulty locating the source. All he needed to do was be around when another incident popped up, and he would be able to trace the source much more effectively. All the same, regardless of how quickly he would figure out what was going on, he was somewhat impressed. Most of the thugs and villains he had dealt with were not of the super intelligent variety. It seemed far more advanced than anything a normal human could come up with, even in such an early stage. Just the concept was enough to leap beyond the realm of normalcy.
After the pounding he had taken, and the subsequent time bed bound, he was eager to find something interesting to do with himself, lest he be driven mad along with the unconnected humans.
As if he would be so easy to break. An explosion hadn’t even managed to knock him down for long, and he hadn’t had a charged ring then. Sure, it messed up his leg beyond repair, it seemed, but that was not the worst thing he could have to deal with. His will would not be swayed.
It was back to work as normal for him.
So he moved towards the hotel, investigating the scene despite the looks of surprise from the civilians and officers around him. He didn’t care what they thought of his appearance there, his wasn’t a mission to listen and obey humans. Even if he had to protect them, he didn’t have to like them. A few going mad was almost a good thing, in his mind.
Thinned the clotted gene pool a bit.
Moving inside the building, he let his ring scan the surroundings, to detect anything that might have been left behind.

Incidents continued to occur in Metropolis. An elderly woman attacked a kind young man who was helping her across the street, a convenient store owner vandalized his own store, and two street mimes who were long time friends and performing partners beat each other senseless, speaking in public for the first time in ages and saying words young children nearby really did not need to hear. Madness had begun to engulf Metropolis. And as reporters and police scrambled to find the cause behind it, a special broadcast interrupted TV shows on every set in the city.
Appearing before the viewers was the monstrous, wicked face of Gorilla Grodd. With his usual smirk that reflected his huge ego, he addressed the people of Metropolis.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen,"[/i] he said, almost politely. "For those of you unaware of who I am, allow me to introduce myself. I am Grodd of Gorilla City. I'm sure many of you are well aware of the chaos that has inflicted your streets... unless you have become a victim of it, then you are aware of very little at the moment. I am here to give the good citizens of Metropolis a way out, a chance to present further madness from ensuing. That solution is complete and utter loyalty to me, from the mayor of this city to the lowliest street peddler. Otherwise, I make a solemn promise that Metropolis will fall to its own people. You have twelve hours to declare allegiance to Grodd or I will unleash this plague on everyone. Farewell for now."[/i]
And just like that, the televisions returned to the regularly scheduled programs.
After his broadcast, Grodd decided to go out to the point of origin. He cared little if anyone confronted him. He had the gold helmet on his head which enhanced his mind control ability. Anyone who tried to challenge him would bow to him. However, one individual caught his attention......and old friend.
".......Sinestro," he said as he approached his former ally.

Of course it had been Grodd- who else would mess with things like mind control? It explained the anomalies his ring had picked up, too. Perhaps he should have known, considering he had worked with the large monkey for a little while back in the day, when he had been particularly embittered by the Guardians attempting to banish him. His wild youth, he liked to call it, even if it had come fairly late in life.
It seemed like his next mission would be a little trip down memory lane- it was rare that he encountered things on earth that actually connected to him in some way. Probably because he hated the planet and wanted a few ties to it as possible.
Go figure.
He was about to start his hunt for the gorilla, when the large animal appeared before him all on his own. Timing was on his side, it seemed. Smiling faintly, the red skinned alien allowed himself to lower to the ground, his ring creating a construct cane for him to lean on as he placed his weight back on his feet. Floating around with his ring kept him from having to deal with his leg, but he wasn’t going to try and hide things from his former companion. It seemed like he would be foolish to do such a thing- he had nothing to fear from this being.
“I see you’re still up to your old tricks, Grodd,” Sinestro said, nodding his head in an almost friendly greeting. Hey, they had been on the same side once, and many would still consider them of the same breed. Evil-doers, no matter what banners they wore.
Or what ring color.
Leaning on his cane, he tilted his head towards his acquaintance, wondering if he really thought this plan was going to work out. “Surely this isn’t the extent of your scheme,” he said, “are you looking for the league to hunt you down? Or have you lost your fire in my time away from earth?” If he did want to try and trick the league somehow, he would likely have gained their attention with his little show. Sinestro wouldn’t believe things were as simple as they appeared.

Grodd listened to his old friend as he went on. There was still that sinister side to Sinestro, despite his change of heart. Perhaps Grodd could talk some sense into the alien. But if not, Sinestro had more to contend with than just him. More and more people were succumbing to the reversed power of the machine stolen from Solovar, turning Metropolis into an asylum. If Sinestro wasn't careful, he could easily fall victim to the mass of "inmates".
But for now, Grodd would enjoy some pleasant conversation.
"And I see you now wear some new colors... or rather you have gone back to some old ones," he said. "Come off it, Sinestro. I know what kind of being you are. Your intellect is almost equal to mine, and you should be wiser than to think you'll be accepted by the benevolent after all your sins."
Grodd then looked about at his handi-work as Sinestro asked about the extent of his scheme.
"You are correct, old friend," he said. "Metropolis is a drop in the bucket. Once I leave these pathetic homo sapiens either at my feet or at each others' throats, I will go on... to Gotham, to Central City, to New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and so on... and then on to Europe, Asia, and finally back to Africa where I will rule the world from a city my minions will build for me, one far more advanced than even Gorilla City. I could always use a former ally in my service. As for the Justice League, they will literally have a world of responsibility to take care of. After all, do they not care more about preserving the peace and protecting this scum than fighting the likes of me?"
Grodd then began to turn and walk away.
"There is nothing you can do to stop me, Sinestro," he said. "You have two options- join me or flee from this place before you are torn apart by these animals."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/bluemiddle.png] Sinestro rolled his eyes, aware that his former friend really had not changed in their time apart from one another. He was still out to take over the world- still interesting in crazed schemes to try and reach his end. “For a super intelligent monkey,” he sighed lowly, “you are not very bright. It seems you never consider the bigger picture when it comes to your want for revenge. There are easier ways to go about getting what you want, I assure you.” He had managed to change the Green Lanterns, after all. He had managed to obtain a lot of the things he had wanted, and not when he had been a part of the legion of doom. It had been when he had deviated from the group and started taking things more seriously. Then, with thought and precision, he had accomplished much.
Grodd, however, hadn’t made that leap forward yet, it seemed. But Sinestro didn’t mind too much. It would make him a hell of a lot easier to beat, though the gorilla didn’t seem to think he was going to be in any kind of trouble.
Figured.
When Grodd turned from him, he felt a bit of anger flare up within him- he never enjoyed people turning their backs on him like they had some kind of standing over him. He didn’t care if they were human, korugaran or a former house pet, he would not stand by and let people look down on him.
“Funny,” he grunted, “I see a third option: beat you within an inch of your life and haul you back to the zoo you escaped from.” He smiled at the thought. To hell with the Justice League- by the time they organized themselves to respond to the call, he would already be well on his way to returning the stolen trinket Grodd wore on his head back to the monkey city it belonged to. It felt a little weird, doing something against someone he had considered a friend, but somehow he would find a way to get over it.
As the humans cluttered around, smashing into things and attacking one another in their bout of insanity, Sinestro let his ring do the rest of the talking for him. It created a large web to catch the humans in, keeping the ones that were nearby from getting any closer to him. He would have to make sure they were alright, he supposed, since he was the good guy and it was part of the job. First and foremost, however, he was going to make sure he didn’t let Grodd escape. The Justice League seemed very goof at letting the bad guys slip away. Sub-doing Grodd was actually not that difficult, all things considered. Certainly easier than blowing himself up to try and stop a crazed woman from killing the only two people he cared about. A few well placed constructs, and some impressive will power over mind control attempts made the battle short and sweet.
Before he knew it, he was standing in the midst of a bunch of people who seemed very confused about what was going on, looking at one another in utter bewilderment. Some had to wonder how they had got there to begin with, while a couple were considering what may have happened to their clothes somewhere along the line. But being confused beat being insane, as far as Sinestro was concerned, and he didn’t care to comfort them. Instead, he picked up the artifact Grodd had stolen while construct ropes wrapped the gorilla up like a present. Lifting his prize in the air, he took off for Africa without waiting around for medics or anyone else to show up. No need- they were always late, but they did eventually come along.
It was off to dump Grodd with his own kind. Let them punish him, and hopefully well enough to keep him from coming back again.
