Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

She was in the middle of surgury when they called her to Oa for her new assignment. The patient had multiple fractures to the skull and sever brain damage. When Soranik was finished with him, his skull was mostly in one piece and enough brain mater had been stimulated to regrow that he'd be back to feeling whole within a few weeks. He'd probably have to relearn some things, or might have lost some memories, but his higher brain functions were not impaired.
She hands him off to his family whome she leaves explicit instructions with concerning care and possible prescriptions to get should any problems arise. This planet isn't known for it's technology but they do have basic antibiotics and pain killers. It is one of many in her jurisdiction that looks to her for aid. The people on this planet regard her as a hero and a savior, she does the Green Lantern Corps here proud. It wasn't easy though, after the mess Sinestro left here, one of MANY messes she's had to clean up of his in his terrible wake.
Curious as to what her new assignment might be, she hops onto the nearest Transluminal to Oa and takes a nap along the way. When she arrives she takes time to say hello to a few friends in the corps she hasn't seen in awhile, then it's on to the guardians. They reveal an unusual event has taken place. one she has noticed on her own, the merger of their universe with another. a brand new system of planets appeared randomly in her sector, one planet containing very rudimentary life. Reports of these kinds of things were springing up all across the universe and Soranik had been curious, but not enough to pull a Guy Gardener and march into the Guardian's chambers looking for answers. She is head strong, but not stupid or rude enough to do that.
Upon hearing she was being permanantly reassigned to sector 2814, with specific detail to earth, she had to ask if the guardians could repeat themselves, which they responded to with a "no.". When she heard who her special assignment partner would be, she nearly feinted.
Now she waits at one of the many recreational lounges on Oa, inspired by the place Kyle and Guy started several years ago. She's sipping on some form of alien alcohol, looking like she is torn between screaming or crying. Though this depraved appearance is actually very subtle, some one who knows Soranik would know it without a second glance. Some one who does NOT know her, wouldn't really see much. A brooding woman, sipping with perhaps a slight bit of anxiety at a glowing pink drink with ice floating in it.
She sits alone. Fully expecting Sinestro to appear suddenly, destroy the residence for serving his daughter alcohol and then lecture her the entire journey to earth on why alcohol is a fundamentally and morally flawed social construct.
((this thread starts on Oa and will move to earth quickly))

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Sinestro was unsure when he had become a regular corpsmen again- when the guardians had started to think they could order him about like just another little brainless minion. He was not one of their fold, and he was not someone who listened to their commands. For them to call him away from his personal business to try and assign him some kind of mission was beyond reasoning. Clearly, they had snapped even more than he would have thought. The fools.
Still, it wasn’t like he could out-right deny them, either. They had control over the ring bound to his finger, and could more or less dictate what he did with it. While they didn’t seem to have any power to turn it off and on at will, being trapped in the corps did mean they had the power to lock him away within the central power battery again, should they feel like it. As fun as it sounded, he imagined he would not find a secret stash of yellow energy tainting the battery, nor would he be able to use it to escape as he had done the first time around. So, while he felt he was above their command, he actually was a bit stuck in that he had to listen to them.
Anyway, he couldn’t say he wasn’t curious to see what was so important on earth that they would deem to send one of their strongest. Even with his prior history, they would be idiots not to realize he was an extremely powerful Green Lantern. So why did they feel the need to waste his talents on a planet like earth? For some kind of trinket they had been abusing?
He had to assume there was more going on then the Guardians were willing to say. Nothing out of the ordinary there.
The surprise actually came in who they had decided to assign alongside him. Not only did he feel having a partner would only slow him down, but the conflicts he would find himself in with this particular person seemed to suggest that the guardians wanted him to have a hard time of things. What the hell were they thinking, pairing him up with his daughter? What was the point of this whole thing? Making a powerful lantern go to a deadbeat planet to deal with some unimportant matter, and giving him someone who would be nothing but trouble the whole way?
They were making a mockery of him.
Landing in some kind of recreational area, Sinestro had to take a moment to look around before he sought out his kin. In all honesty, he had never really been to the rest areas of the planet, more interested in keeping to business as often as possible. Despite knowing so much about the planet, such areas were almost completely foreign to him. And rightfully so- it didn’t seem like they were anything important. Frowning, he let his ring guide him to his daughter, who looked ready to explode as she sipped at her drink. Amusing.
“I see this is going to be fun- you already look tired of me and we haven’t even set off yet,” he said almost lightly, his hands moving behind his back as he watched her. “If you have finished with your drink, we should be off- apparently there’s work to be done.” Was this how his daughter acted in the corps? A slacker like the rest of them? Unacceptable.
It would be the death of her, were she a member of his former corps.

In all truths, Soranik truly could think of ways it could be worse. She could've been paired with Kyle. That would've probably made her quit the Corps. Well not really, but she might've taken her ring off and thrown it on the ground. She isn't prone to tantrums, not usually, but when something doesn't sit right with her, she is not afraid to voice against it.
"Honestly, Sinestro...I was tired of you by the age of seven."
And that's about as far as her quips go usually, nothing tacked onto the end, no little reference, no slight chuckle. It's not meant to be funny, she's serious, but some one like Guy would probably laugh at it. She stands up and downs the rest of her drink and pays her tab then heads for the door. She will hold it for Sinestro.
"Don't look at me like that, if becoming a raging alcoholic enables me to deal with ... you ... then so be it."
She was at least MOSTLY civil in her tone of voice, there was no biting hitch, no sneering, she was relatively calm and maybe a little relaxed. But it's probably pretty easy to assume that this was mostly in part due to the really powerful alcoholic beverage she'd just consumed. It might've been neon pink but it was definitely not a 'ladies' beverage, and by the time they reach Earth, Soranik may very well be laughing and telling jokes while trying to give her dear old dad hugs between serenading him of how it could've been.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] “I’m sure you would have liked me more if I had been able to find you sooner,” insisted the Lantern veteran easily enough. He didn’t mind if she was bitter with him- he imagined some of it was moderately warranted. There had been a couple blips with the management of their home planet that she probably had yet to forgive him for. Considering he had tried to enslave it and all.
But hey, he knew he had gone too far- she just needed to let it go. He was trying to do the same. If not for him, his leaderless corps would have still been in control of their home world. Korugar was safe because he had the capability of shutting down an entire corps in the blink of an eye.
She needed to remember that.
“I hardly think you’d become an alcoholic on my behalf,” Sinestro grunted, “your interests in your duties takes precedence over your want to feel comfortable.” She was the same as him- a work horse. He had spent a long time pushing aside personal needs and desires to accomplish his goals. That had been a road already traveled, and things hadn’t gone well the first time around. It was unlikely he would follow the same path twice, lest he end up with another kid who wanted to kill him.
“Come, child, we need to be off.” He left the recreation room, leading them up and off the planet. Out in space, Sinestro felt the most at home. It was a comfortable place, with nothing around him but the future. Beat lanterns glaring at him on Oa- now he only had one to deal with. Heading for earth, Sinestro peered over his shoulder, watching his somewhat dazed daughter.
“I don’t suppose you had anything to do with accompanying me on this little mission,” he said lowly, though his tone was as neutral as ever, “perhaps you wanted to keep an eye on this old traitor.”

She isn't sure if his quip about finding her sooner was in reference to now or the distant past in which she grew up believing her family was something it's not. She didn't much care though, not enough to waste brain power further than a few microseconds of thought on it.
"You would be surprised what I would do on your behalf."
Which was probably true, and while she spoke like it was a threat, it was phrased like a compliment and in truth, it was meant as both. Some small part of her doubted she could ever best him in a melee but if she could ever truly gain leverage over him? Even she isn't sure what she might do.
As the two of them ascended into the heavens over Oa and eventually into the corridors of light that make interstellar travel manageable for the lanterns, Soranik listens to Sinestro's preposterous question and wonders if it is truly a question, or more of an accusation.
"Nope. And I think you know better than to ask such a ridiculous question. I am not a schemer Sinestro, I am not you. If I had a hand in it, you'd already know. But I didn't, because you're the second to last person in this entire universe I'd like to spend time with. By the way, you rank lower than the gigantic flesh eating slugs on Paxor 7."
Now she is starting to feel the alcohol, but the conversation wasn't going in a good direction. She may wind up regretting that strong drink if Sinestro goads her into a position of self righteousness, she might start a fight with him before they even reach earth! There is a subtle, but noticeable slur to her speech.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Her comment confused him mildly, though not enough for him to invest interest in having her expand on it. If she meant it as some kind of a slam, she had missed the mark a bit. To him, it sounded like she actually had more emotion for him than she was willing to let out. One, perhaps, he could get her to look at him without loathing in her eyes.
Until then, he’d just continue being a jerk to her. That worked, right?
“You’re right,” Sinestro sneered, “you’re not a schemer. I was merely asking to pass the time. It’s interesting to see how angry you get over a simple question, though. This is going to be fun indeed.” He looked ahead of him again. The good thing about space travel was the severe lack of anything to run into. And even if they did happen to come across something, the barrier provided by his ring would make short work of it, anyway. Indeed, there was no problem in swaying around, or watching someone you were traveling with like a hawk while you were out in space.
Sinestro smiled to himself, amused by her state. It seemed she had inherited something else from him, besides her sharp tongue and tinted skin- she had the same somewhat lax ability to hold her alcohol. Though he would never admit it, he was a bit of a light weight when it came to drinking. It stemmed from the same reason he had never really been in the more recreational areas of Oa, he just didn’t like to put pleasure in front of business. So he didn’t know how to drink. Maybe she wasn’t as strict about it as he had been in the past, but it didn’t seem like she had been a party animal in her youth, either. Or was it just because that drink had been particularly strong? He had never seen it before, so there was no way he would know.
Either way, it almost made him weirdly proud that she seemed to be struggling. That, or he was just an immense asshole.
“You’re looking a bit rough, my dearest daughter,” he hummed thoughtfully, “is the stress of being a lantern getting to you? I never thought the job was suited for females.”

In a stroke of genius, Sinestro has leveraged himself against Soranik yet again. She doesn't know him enough to know he's just being an ass hole, in fact, she only knows what she's read or seen from afar, she only knows the pain he's caused and the misery he's inflicted. Especially upon her.
"I was only Angry because you phrased it like an accusation. As if I'd go out of my way to inflict anything but utter indifference upon you. Now that we're essentially stuck in the same box though, I guess we'll see how it all unfolds."
She was being pessimistically cautious. She knew it wouldn't be pleasant, thus the drink. She was not kidding about the alcohol, she knew what it would do to her body, she knew how to take steps to prevent long term alcohol damage. Even if she didn't, she could repair it without much effort, even on herself. If most Green lanterns have a healing factor in-defacto because of their rings, Sora's is probably a hundred times better.
"The stress of being a lantern has nothing to do with it. I am a physician with an advanced set of instruments at my disposal and my clinic is an entire sector. Adjusting took time, but wasn't impossible. No I love my job and I love the amount of people I am able to help now. I love the possibility of exploring alien life forms and their physiology, I love the challenge of mending their broken bodies on the fly with no prep work. Battlefield Triage with a power ring is the most rewarding practice I could've ever hoped for in my life. If anything is stressing me out, it's being related to you in such a close proximity. The thought that I share even a single part of Venter or appleseed genome strands with you is utterly preposterous. We're so infinitely different I'm surprized we're even the same species."
But they aren't, are they. Soranik can't remember her mother very well and Sinestro never told her. She isn't entirely a korugaran and she never was. Perhaps this explains the odd coloring of her eyes or reduced stature, she is quite a bit shorter than sinestro, but that's not entirely uncommon.
His snarky comment about her being a woman and a green lantern did not phase her much, though it stung, it was more liken to a pop on the wrist than the bee sting Sinestro likely intended it to be. If his intent was to goad her their entire journey then she would have to mentally fortify herself for it.
Being intoxicated as she was would not help and she thought about using her ring to create microscopic constructs that could purge the excess alcohol from her blood stream, or help her filter it quicker so it was out of her system. Then again, being this deep into . , that space might not be such a great idea, considering what it would mean...

Enraged seemed to be the only way he could get people to spill their beans to him, and it was a tactic he utilized a hell of a lot, sometimes not even on purpose. When people were angry, they sometimes said things they didn’t mean to be so harsh, but they always spoke the truth.
It was the best way he knew to get information, when he knew scaring the pants off of someone wouldn’t work.
“In any case, I still think the stress of the job has gotten to you more than you’ll admit- you’ve changed so much from the Soranik I watched growing up. And not entirely in a way I would have liked, though I suppose I am still proud of you for being a Green Lantern and your help on Korugar.” He didn’t go too far into specifics, not wanting to sound too much like he was trying to reach out to her. It would only make her shut up, and any conversation was better than none. He was learning so much about her.
Her temper amused him, though he imagined he couldn’t keeping poking the bear to get all the fun reactions from her. Eventually, he would have to take things seriously, as he was usually want to do.
Maybe he was just secretly happy about the whole arrangement.
Since she wasn’t doing much in terms of progressing the conversation, and he was bored of prodding, Sinestro left the rest to silence, moving through space without so much as glancing at the views that shot by them. After a while, it just got boring. Space was magnificent and vast, but it all started to look the same after a while. A collection of planets and stars, most of which in need of help all the damn time. In need of order. Like he could really go about dishing that out, now that he was stuck wearing he wrong ring. Oh well. No point crying over spilled milk, as the humans would say. He was going to be learning a lot more stupid sayings once they arrived on the planet, he was sure of that.
When they broke through to earth, Sinestro took a moment to observe the planet, his nose wrinkling in distaste. Great. Back on earth. And he wasn’t even there to force Hal into working for him again.
Hopefully this ridiculous mission wouldn’t take long- he had no interest in spending any more time on the planet than he needed to. Actually, he had half a mind to let the oh-so-amazing Soranik deal with things, so he could get back to tasks that actually mattered. Like showing the guardians they couldn't saddle him with remedial tasks just because they felt inclined to mess with him.
The jerks.

Soranik clinched her fist but let it slide. She took a deep breath and did her best to contain the rage. It was pacified by his oddly placed praise, like he was offering a solve to the wound he'd just caused.
"You can't insult me and then praise me in the same moment, you ass!"
She said with no small amount of frustration painted in her words. The subtle gnash of teeth, the girlish growl cluttering her stressed syllables, the anxious squeel on the relaxed ones. Sinestro was making her very angry, but she was handling it. How could she be so angry? Had he ever been this angry? Yes.
The rest of the journey is met with silence, even if Sinestro had said something, she probably wouldn't have responded to him. When they enter Earths atmosphere, surprisingly, she seems as enthusiastic to be there as he does. This planet has enough heroes to fill a small world, and FOUR green Lanterns, four lanterns in one sector was outrageous, four on one planet? And now six counting the two displaced ones. Why send them any way? Why...The question burned Soranik deeper than usual. She knew the guardian's weren't always the most forthcoming, but she didn't specifically distrust them, this time though, this time it was...odd. Beyond that, Kyle Rayner lives here and that man is the only man that Soranik hates more than her father. She's certainly bitter, isn't she?
"Ring. Report Major news events in last 180 days. Cross reference events possibly pertaining to our mission. Exclude reports pertaining to persons that apparently existed prior to four months ago. Instead, create a list and display it."
The ring took seconds to compile the data, and then began displaying a barrage of information, reporting on all the bizzare happenings. The merger of this world with another, people and buildings appearing out of no where. New heroes, new villians, new organizations. One in particular catches Soraniks eye of scrutiny.
Pft....X-Men? How...Ostentatious."
She said, as she pulled a frame featuring a picture of them in action off to the side, which then exploded into a mess of other videos and text detailing them. The ring continued to announce out loud other things that seemed out of place from her last visit. Stories and information from 'the other' universe.

It seemed a little late in the game to be looking up information- he had been researching the planet since the moment he had been told of the assignment, despite his distaste of it. She, apparently, had been off drinking her woes away instead. Being unprepared was not something Sinestro approved of. Sighing softly, he lowered himself to the floor, gently touching down as the glow from his ring faded around him.
There was no need to land. He would need to fly if he wanted to hunt out his leads and discover more about the trinket they were after. But, he imagined he would need to wait for Soranik to join him before they did anything, and he didn’t know how long she would be up there studying. In the meantime, he could at least take a look around. Re-familiarize himself with the landscape.
How long had it been since he had been anywhere other than Coast City?
But it wasn’t a vacation, even if he wasn’t too inclined to get to work. They were there for a reason, and the quicker they completed the mission, the sooner they would be able to get back to their own lives. Soranik could go back to playing super doctor, and he could return to cleaning up Korugar and following his own little leads. He’d been having some trouble with the Indigo Tribe, and it annoyed him that he couldn’t deal with them properly due to the guardians placing him on earth. He was relatively out in the open there. An easy target for his enemies, if they knew where to look.
Hopefully the mission wouldn’t take long.
“I hope you plan on joining me down here at some point, dearest daughter,” Sinestro said to his ring, the message transferring to Soranik without skipping a beat.

It grated on her soul that he could call her that and get away with it. What could she do? Protest? That seemed flimsy at best. She had nothing to hold over him, Nothing at all. His indignation towards her methods of tackling the problem were really irritating to. In the back of her mind, she desperately wanted to just blast off and sail through the sky towards the nearest Justice League Installment. She knew they would be compelled to aid them in their search. But she also knew the chances of Sinestro following HER lead were slim to none and leaving him on this world to his own machinations was a chemical mixture for trouble.
"You will not call me that again."
She said with a firmness to her voice that ... might be surprising, but probably wont be. She descended, all the little windows and information screens clearing as she went. When she landed behind Sinestro, her own green glow faded. She uses her ring then to create a small box that appears to be an mp3 player of sorts, one ear bud, which she slides into her ear.
"Resume report."
She tells the ring, and silently, it continues noting things of interest. She moves closer to Sinestro.
"I wonder how long it'll be till I get to arrest you for misconduct."
Soranik said spitefully, implying that Sinestro couldn't control himself enough against the masses on this earth. All the people, all the cocky egotistical heroes, all the chaos. It was only a matter of time before he snapped and attacked some one, and in that moment, Soranik would be there to bring the hammer down.

He wouldn’t call her that again? It seemed like she didn’t really know who she was speaking to. He didn’t take orders from others, especially not offspring. Anyway, he wanted to call her his daughter- that’s exactly what she was. If she had a problem with it, she would have to talk to a therapist. For him, it was rather enjoyable knowing he had a daughter. Something left of Arin.
Not that he would ever talk about it like that, though.
When she finally joined him, he gave a grunt, moving his hands neatly behind his back as he stood beside her. “I would give it an hour,” he replied in something that might have been considered a joke, were it not for dead serious he appeared. In all honesty, he didn’t think it would take long for him to break a rule from the Green Lantern code of ethics. It had been a long time since he had checked in on things with their rules. The only one he really knew was that it was okay to kill members of his corps, thanks to him. The rest… was a bit of a blur.
He could sense it- fear. It was all around them. Fear of the unknown, fear of the future, fear of getting attacked. Humans seemed to live in fear. While normally it would have pleased him, he could only be disgusted at the sheer amount of useless fright filtering through the hearts of the people in the nearby city. Humans. They were so under-developed. Far too inclined to react with their base instincts.
They were only a small step away from being wild animals, so crude and sickeningly chaotic.
“Well, daughter,” he said briskly, shrugging off the fear he sensed, “where shall we go first? Since you’re so eager to get your research in, surely you have a lead.” He had his ideas on where to search, but he was also interested in seeing how his kin got things done. This was a rare moment where he could actually see her in her element, working for the Green Lanterns.
He could see how different she claimed them to be.

It seemed her attempts are assertion would be futile. She supposed that this was to be expected. As her ring privately reads to her a plethora of information, she distracts herself enough to engage in conversation with Sinestro.
"First? The first place I would go is the JLA head quarters. But I'm not sure bringing you along is such a good idea. I am surprised the military hasn't been dispatched yet."
Sinestro had a way of bringing a planet to full alert. She wasn't sure what made her sicker, this fact or the fact that he probably prided himself on it. But Sinestro has come and gone from earth before without alarm bells sounding. The other green lanterns on earth must be to busy to greet them, surely they would've offered some kind of welcome party. Unless they are missing. But a quick check into ring logs displays they aren't.
"My ring has informed me a new agency for extra normal monitoring has come from the merger of our universe with another. Something called SHIELD. Perhaps we could approach them for information."
From here on though, she probably wont offer any sort of lead at all. she'll simply follow and assist Sinestro in silence. She takes solace in the fact that they will not be bound to work around the clock on this problem and eventually, they will part ways for recreation. Then again, this is Sinestro, he may very well work himself to near death before taking a break simply to solve the problem quicker. Truth is, she would too if not for the fact that she despised being around Sinestro so much that is actually affected her conviction.
