Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

The Black Orlov Diamond. A most fascinating of gems if there ever was one. A nearly 70 carat black diamond that was said to be cursed, well it was at one point in time. Over the years sine the 1930's the owners of this famed gem seemingly all met their end by leaping to their deaths.
The gem quickly earned its reputation until a jeweler by the name of Charles Winson bought the jewel and cut it into three parts. Embedding them all into a broach composed of one hundred and eight equally exquisite diamonds. Currently though, the famed jewel was on loan from its current owner to the American museum of natural History.
There was no real reason that he needed it but then again he needed nothing ever. Craddock simply wanted it, and what he wanted, The Gentleman ghost simply took. Though it would be such an easy task for the ghost, such a building left him with a cacophony of play things should any hero decide to rain on his ghastly parade, the fossil halls being the most enjoyable. Not that any run of the mill hero could do anything to stop him.
The Harry Frank Guggenheim was his target. The security cameras were not a problem until he actually lifted the gems. then well the floating objects were going to cause problems on anyone watching the security footage. His spectral body easily phased through the walls of the buildings exterior and interior, no body had the ability to Ghost-proof their security system.
Once the Ghostly man had reached the Gem hall it was like a veritable buffet of jewels, famed an unknown. If he had any eyes, they would be alight with excitement. However the Ghost was quickly side tracked by the once stolen before Star of India and the DeLong Star Ruby. He cold recall hearing of that heist fondly.
Not a bad grab for a group of breathers.
However one of the gems was never recovered, the Eagle Diamond. Well. there were other means of hiding a gem, let the robbers become the robbed. The Eagle Diamond was tucked nice and safely among the menagerie of stolen good in his lush mausoleum, that Gentleman Jim had amassed in his afterlife.
Now it seemed he had the chance to finish the collection, and start a new one. His hand easily phased through the glass case as he easily swiped the gems, allowing them to pass through the solid objects as well. He paused for a moment to listen for the sound of foot steps, nothing. Did no one have any appreciation for the finer points of villainy any more?
"Pity my dear fellows, it seems you shant be missed" Craddock spoke to the gems as the spook held them to his monocle for a closer look. He was throughly pleased by the up keep of the gems. Now onto the next one.

Yet, strangely enough, the Titan had rarely been called to thefts of priceless artefacts in museums, nor had she found emotions to bother her within the buildings as she flew overhead. But it seemed that tonight that would change. Within the American Museum of Natural History, Raven could sense a strange presence. Something hard to get a reach on with her empathic powers but there certainly was a presence of curiosity within the building and she was ready to face whatever it was.
After a slight pause, Raven moved towards the presence, teleporting with her dark soul-self through the space between her and the presence that existed in the museum. In a silent poof of purple smoke, the half-demon arrived, her indigo eyes adjusting to the darkness within the building as she looked for someone to link to the being that she had sensed. Everything seemed calm, no one snuck around to cast shadows and there appeared to be only the sound of silence. It was then that she realised that what she faced was no mere mortal burglar with powers but what appeared to be a ghost.
Lifted above the ground in flight, the Titan was not silent for long as she heard the ghost speak. "If you are wanting to get attention from theft, then you have gained mine." |
[/b] Still several metres away from the being, Raven looked towards the form that she could make out and the diamond in its hand. Having not faced a ghost, the teenager was uncertain in what actions would be effective but she fought crime and she would try her best against this strange turn of events. Still, she doubted that this stranger would go down quietly and Raven did her best to prepare, focusing on her soul-self, ready to unleash it. She was almost certain that any physical attacks would pass through the ghost but maybe her soul-self would have some effect. It was far to easy for the spectral ghost to know that he was no longer along, however it was the prerogative of a ghost to elect to ignore the presence of others. Just as the walking sacks of meat did the same with his kind. Oh how much fun this was going to be. It had been quite sometime since he had quite the plethora of items. Not only to steal but to play with. To haunt and bring to life once more.
With a twist of his disembodied wrist the gems vanished as the human spoke. M'dear if I had wanted the attention, I would have caused the entire presidential suit to hover 'bout and shake. his voice carried across with a laugh as his form that could be seen simply vanished.
"Might I recommend a wardrobe change? He spoke from no where until he appeared down the hall for her. Tapping his bone white cane on the tile floor to catch her attention if he did not already have it. "Such a color is for the dead, and even then it is too, Hmm how do thou say, Cliche'? The ghastly entity was headed towards the hall of fossils.
Shall I lead thee on a merry chase?
His voice echoed though the halls before it reverberated with his tenor toned laugh. I think I shall, a chase may help with ye color, Child you are paler then Death is grim. Jim floated above the floor for a moment before he drifted through the air and through the wall that separated the main hall from that of fossils. He was going to have a bit of fun. What harm could it do to play with the child.
Within the room stood several large skeletons of dinosaurs of the Jurassic age. Craddock chuckled to himself lightly, Looks like they do house things older then myself as he spoke the Ghost invaded the space of the bones. giving life to the once ferocious king of the dinosaurs. The formidable Tyrannosaurs Rex . The beast shrugged to life, wrenching itself free of the hooks and wires that held its still lifeless bones in place.
As its boned feet hit the floor that was right below the pedestal , the surrounding installments quivered from the force.

As the ghost spoke, Raven took note of what the being said; it seemed that his power was greater than simply the ability to pass through objects, possibly even powers that were more associated with poltergeists. That was if he wasn't over exaggerating his skills. It was then that the ghost disappeared with the diamond and Raven searched for its presence with her empathy, trying to locate the criminal.
As the voice sounded, the teenager spun around, cloak billowing around her as she searched for the ghost, certainly not impressed by his words on her choice of clothing. The sound of the cane tapping the ground rung out and she faced the ghostly figure. "I do not think that you are one to judge what I choose to wear. Now return the gem." |
[/b] The empathy said, not wasting time as she got straight to the point. But even as she spoke the ghost left on its 'merry chase' and the half-demon paused, making sure that she still could sense's its presence. Despite the fact that the voice seemed to come from around her she was able to concentrate on the ghost and in a poof of smoke, the teenager followed, trying to catch the ghost out. Teleporting into the room of fossils, her indigo eyes moved to wear she believed she sensed the criminal. "I'm not one for games and I do not need you to comment on my complexion. A ghost has no need for treasures so just return the diamond and go in peace."[/b] Raven said, barely even a second before she materialised in the room. She had missed the reanimation of the T-Rex but then her ears picked up the sound of skeleton moving and the quivering of the area around her as it stepped into the floor. Once more turning around, Raven's eyes widened as she saw the giant form before her. It certainly did appear that the ghost thief had notable powers yet the teenager's expressions did not change. It would have been interesting if Beast Boy had been here to see the skeleton brought to life give that this was one of the forms that he frequently took. Flying higher up and away from the dinosaur, the teenager summoned her soul-self and the black raven appeared around the teenager as she tried to send it towards the ghost. While the skeleton seemed to pose the most threat, Raven assumed that if she managed to knock out the ghost then the bones would return to their lifeless state.[/style] tags:The Gentleman's Ghost word count: ??? muse: Nothing! notes: Nice post!
