Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

The girl had been procrastinating as her workload had increased as Christmas loomed on the horizon. So when she hadn't been attending lectures, Lilith worked on cheering people up. It was this time of year that was the hardest for those without homes. Christmas could be difficult at the best of times. Giving out gifts and food had been one side of Lilith's work, another was telling them where they could find shelter. On nights, Lilith took blankets to give out. Still, this left her work load and Lilith sat on a park bench, her blue eyes staring at the question that stared out at her. It was an essay on the probability of White Holes on a level above sub-atomic. White Holes... the opposite of Black Holes. So far, Lilith had started by outlinning the history of thought that had lead to White Holes, talking about Einstein's Equations and how everything seemed to have an opposite. Now she had started a counter arguement. While Black Holes had been seen, no white hole had been sighted. The student smiled as she remembered that quasars were thought to be White Holes, but it was just Black Holes instead. That would be something to put in her essay. But her work had only just made over a page and it was in for Tuesday. Taking a breath, Lilith thought about this. While she loved Physics and talking about it, she found that her English skills on paper were not always the best. My PHD should be fun. I get to write a book. Lilith thought as she jotted down more points. There was probably something obvious that she was missing. Wormholes? They could be subatomic and also at a larger scale. Wormholes were meant to be the bridge between a Black Hole and White Hole. Perfect. And so another point was born. "Why didn't I think of wormholes earlier? It should have been an obvious topic to outline. Maybe I should try spending more time on the planning." |
[/b] Lillith muttered to herself, although she did not sound like she was annoyed with herself, more amused. The girl glanced at her plan, which was incredibly rough. Chuckiling, Lilith's pen moved over the paper, her handwriting wasn't exactly the best, but it was readable! Hopefully... so far she only had had minimum complaint about her handwriting and that had only been in the last two years. As she worked, Lilith started to hum Spirit of Man, that tune could really get stuck in your head, in fact, so could all the music from War of the Worlds. But it was on topic. Sort off... [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Leaving the hospital would likely piss off his daughter, but he hadn’t been able to stand the place any longer. It wasn’t in him to lie around and just wait for his body to recover. Even when he had been in corps the first time around it had been difficult to get him to relax. He recalled, when he had finished his training and was off protecting his own sector, he had worked himself far too hard and had ended up fainting after finishing a mission to stop an invasion on a sentient planet. Abin had to come and collect him, and he had spent two days in the infirmary resting as punishment for his poor decision making. Apparently, he hadn’t grown out of that little tick.
He still had to move- still had to work himself far too hard. The only problem was that he hadn’t had a moment to recharge his ring since his accident. It would be difficult to get into his underwater base without a charge to his ring, and that was where he was keeping his lantern. Asking Natu… would spell trouble.
There had to be some way to get his ring charged again.
Slowly, he limped his way along the street, using some crutches he had obtained from the hospital before heading out. It was the only way he could keep himself upright without a ring to hover with- walking was pretty much out of the question on his bum leg. Hell, limping wasn’t really working out for him that well. Maybe he should have taken a wheelchair. His body was taxed after walking not that far, and it was screaming in pain. Sighing softly he moved himself into some kind of a park, deciding that it looked like as good a place as any to sit and relax for a little while. Maybe reconsider the whole running away motif.
After all, he had only been in the hospital a couple of days. His body was thrashed- and anyone else would not have survived it, let alone woken up so soon after it had all gone down. It was a miracle he was even alive. Or so some would say. Sinestro knew it had nothing to do with miracles or luck- his daughter had saved him, along with Raven. If they hadn’t have been there, he would have been killed. Probably long before the explosion had even gone off.
It was a little touching to think about, though he was too sullen a man to let it get to him.
He moved to sit himself down on a park bench, paying no mind to the young girl her was studying not far from him. She looked busy, and he really didn’t want to explain to anyone why he had pink skin along with why he looked like ten miles of bad road. Coughing lowly, wincing in pain, he sank back in the bench, looking up at the sky. It felt like portion of his frame were going to explode.
He had no idea that he was sitting next to a blue lantern, or that she could recharge his ring for him if he wanted her to.

Black, white or worm, they were useful and rather odd. Still when you had to write five to ten pages on them in a restricted context. So, wormholes, on a large scale... could she manage this without showing any of her knowledge from her time not on the planet? After all, most wormholes were considered to be on the microscopic level and needed to be blown up for use. Well, it was a point against and could be used for augments sake. So wormholes provided a for and against. Leaning back, Lilith scanned over her work, it was now three pages long, approaching the length she needed to reach. As she looked over her work, Lilith caught sight of someone moving along, definitely not walking, more limping. Another interesting thing to note was the different skin tone. I hope he's okay. Lilith thought as he sat down near her, the girl putting her papers down as she tried to come up with another point. "Good day." |
[/b] She said cheerfully to the stranger beside her, Lilith liked to greet people. Sometimes it made their day better. Picking up one of her books, Lilith looked at the index and scanned through the W section for White Holes. Hardly any entries, but she followed them. Just then the sound of coughing caught her attention and Lilith looked back up as the stranger (who was most probably an alien) winced in pain. The student frowned, wondering if she could help. It wasn't good for anyone to be in pain and Lilith hoped he would get better soon. It was dreadful to be ill or injured. Lilith looked around her for something useful. Physics probably wouldn't be of much use, nor would the ring. Where was her bag? Bending over, Lilith grabbed it from under the bench and pulled it out triumphantly and placed it besides her before looking through it. Pens, paper, War of the Worlds, Mobile, chocolate (She took this out), a flask of soup (Lilith wasn't sure about this, so she left it in) and painkillers. Taking those out as well she turned to the stranger, holding chocolate in one hand and painkillers in the other. "Would you like some painkillers? Or chocolate?"[/b] The girl asked, her tone friendly as she held out the medicine and food. Then a thought came to her, did aliens have chocolate? Probably not. "They say chocolate makes things better. It is based in fact, it releases a hormone into the brain that makes one happy,"[/b] Lilith commented, wondering if she remembered it correctly. It was something like that. "Although some say that painkillers are just a placebo, but they work on most people."[/b] Lilith loved to help people, happy people were better than sad people. Lilith wondered whether it would be alright to jokingly ask him about White Holes to try and amuse him. But then most people didn't seem to get her humour all the time, so she left it for now, smiling as she held the chocolate and painkillers out. She also had water to wash the painkillers down.[/div] tags: Sinestro word count: muse:Mystic's Dream notes: Though BRY made this table, all the credit goes to RAVEN for the idea! :D[/style][/td][/tr][/table][/center]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Sinestro was content to ignore the girl sitting next to him as she greeted him, paying his sorry state more attention than anything else. Why should he bother with some little girl when he had much more important things on his mind? Still… there was something a little different about her. Normally, when he was near humans, they feared him because of his color or stature. Because they knew he was an alien. This one didn’t seem to have that familiar fear inside of her. It’s like she wasn’t remotely bothered by the fact that he was incredibly tall or that he wasn’t from earth. She didn’t look like she had super strength or could burn someone to death by glaring at them, so why was she so seemingly comfortable with him sitting there?
He was further perplexed when she began offering him things. Though he had never eaten it before, he knew what chocolate was. Hal had always munched on the stuff when he should have been training. He had always been trying to get him to try it, and he had never succeeded. There was no reason to change that now that it was someone else offering him the strange food.
And as for painkillers, well, he didn’t really like to take drugs, especially not human ones. After what had happened with the chemical Evette had let him try, perhaps he was feeling a little gun shy.
In any case, he didn’t answer her question, nor did he comment on the useless information she had offered him about the items in her hand. Instead, he arched an eyebrow, straightening himself as much as he could while still sitting on the park bench.
“Why are you not afraid of me?’ He asked, changing the subject quickly, “I suppose I do not look the most imposing with a bum leg, but most still get nervous when they see someone with pointy ears and red skin walking down the street. But you… you don’t seem to care at all. Are you used to seeing aliens sitting in the park? He didn’t mean to sound cruel or rude, but he also didn’t care if that was how he happened to come across. After all, he was Sinestro- he wasn’t supposed to be a nice guy, or a good guy. As far as anyone who knew of him was concerned, he was an evil doer and never had a nice thing to say about anyone.
So he kind of had a get out of jail free card when it came to being blunt with people. It was just what was expected of him.

It was things that she could hand out to people who were likely to need them. In fact, several children kept visiting her after she had given them chocolate (with their parents permission) after they had hurt themselves. The student didn't mind, instead she found it rather sweet, their happy faces made her happy. So more often than not Lilith took extra chocolate with her in case of such occasions. Today there were no children in sight, but Lilith didn't put it past them to appear at some point. She suspected that if they were here then they might be curious as to the stranger who sat besides her. Still holding up the chocolate and painkillers, Lilith's arms were getting tired as he didn't respond. Did he speak English? Lilith wondered whether the ring would translate her words if she didn't speak English. As far as she was aware that was one of the things that she needed a Green Lantern around for. But if he didn't speak English it would be a brilliant chance to try and communicate without words. The student tried to think of ways she could communicate without words. Holding up the chocolate and painkillers with a smile was probably a good way to show that she was offering something helpful. “Why are you not afraid of me?’So he did speak English! That made things easier, but Lilith frowned at the question. It was an odd sort of question to ask. Although to be fair it was coming from an alien when a student of nineteen had just offered chocolate and painkillers. “I suppose I do not look the most imposing with a bum leg, but most still get nervous when they see someone with pointy ears and red skin walking down the street. But you… you don’t seem to care at all. Are you used to seeing aliens sitting in the park? Lilith smiled and shook her head. "There's not often aliens in the park. In fact, you are the first alien in the park that I've met. But that doesn't mean that you'll be hostile. If I went to another planet I would hope that the people... beings... wouldn't run away from me just because I look different." |
[/b] Lilith smiled. To be fair, this was not the first alien that she had seen and Lilith had gone to other planets. Moving her arms back, Lilith took a piece of chocolate and ate it herself. She wasn't going to press her point with the chocolate or painkillers and she put them back in her bag. "If you change your mind about the chocolate or painkillers just tell me."[/b] Lilith said, looking up as she put the items back into their place and giving the alien a smile. The student loved to help others and she smiled as she thought about what might happen if any children came over, curious about the alien and he thought that people should be afraid of him. "I don't think many people are afraid of aliens. There have been aliens on earth, protecting it; like Martian Manhunter and Miss Martian to name a few."[/b] Lilith had almost been disappointed when she found out that Martians didn't live in tripods, like in War of the Worlds. But she had been younger when she had found out. The student looked around at the various books that were sprawled around her and she quickly tidied them up, bookmarking a few places with various bits of paper that she kept from previous work (only used as bookmarks as they were of less importance). "Would it be better on your leg if you could rest it on the bench?"[/b] Lilith asked, placing the books carefully in the bag and moving to sit on the ground. "I don't mind working on the floor."[/b] She added as she started to take her books back out again. The alien's leg did look painful and Lilith hoped that it would get better soon. Hopefully little things like rest and propping it up with the support of a park bench would help speed the recovery, if only slightly.[/div] tags: Sinestro word count: muse:Lord of the Rings notes: Though BRY made this table, all the credit goes to RAVEN for the idea! :D[/style][/td][/tr][/table][/center]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Sinestro was more than a little surprised that she would so willingly pack up her things and move to sit in the grass, just because she thought it might help his leg. He wouldn’t have asked her to, and he wouldn’t have even agreed to her having asked him if she hadn’t have moved in the process. Since he hadn’t had the time to answer, he felt like it would be more rude of him to tell her it was fine than to accept the small token of help. Since it was the lesser of two evils, for a change, he nodded his head in mild gratitude.
“Letting it rest might not be a horrible idea,” he agreed gently, carefully lifting his leg to let it rest on the park bench. It wasn’t as comfortable for his back, perhaps, but it certainly took the weight off his leg, making it feel a help of a lot less painful. Stupid thing.
Maybe it would have been better if it had been blown off.
“You seem to be very busy there,” he commented after a moment to just relax, “you must be working on something for school. I never see that many books for something recreational.” Humans were weird like that. When he had been much younger, he had enjoyed working on his own projects, filling his free time with essays and studies. Maybe that was why he had always found it difficult to make friends. In any case, he couldn’t really be blamed for it. After all, his profession after school had ended was in history, and area of study that was nothing but more research and homework. Obviously, he liked his learning.
Though it didn’t seem like she was studying anything he was that intrigued by. He could see the books were on matters of space, a subject he was already very familiar with. The limited knowledge of space from humans who had never really been into it didn’t sound like something he wanted to waste his time on. What could they possibly know that he hadn’t been able to discover on his own? Oh well, it wasn’t his assignment, and he wanted to ask simply because he felt a bit guilty about kicking her out of her seat.
The least he could do was try and make up for it by expressing some interest in her studies.
In the distance, Sinestro could hear the chatter of excited children. Lifting his head, he looked towards the rim of the park, where a bus had pulled up not that long ago. It was letting large groups of children disembark, none of them looking older than elementary school students, by human standards. It seems as though they were getting to venture into the park for a bit of a break. It was likely they had been looking around at the local sights, perhaps going on a school trip to a museum or something, and they were just making a pit stop for lunch. They all carried little brown bags with their lunches inside, small pockets of children separating out over the grassy field to sit down and have a meal and chat with one another about what they had seen throughout their terribly exciting little day.
Sinestro frowned when some of the children seemed to notice him from a distance, giggling excitedly to one another before moving to gather up more of their friends. Clearly seeing a red skinned man wasn’t frightening to them, either. They actually looked ready to leap at him the way they all kept looking over. Maybe they were like animals.
If you just ignored them, they would go away.
His eyes returned to the girl, “My name is Sinestro,” he informed her after a moment, “I apologize: I should have said something earlier.”

If I were studying medicine I would be able to be more helpful. Lilith thought as she wondered what else could think of to help. It was simple enough physics when it came to elevating it. Less forces working on the leg, there would most likely have been some tension when down, or thrust. Or so Lilith thought but she knew that in general resting injured legs like this was meant to be more useful. “Letting it rest might not be a horrible idea,” There, so it wasn't a bad idea. The student gave the alien a smile and then turned back to her homework. Looking through a few books, she turned to information on Black Holes. Another thought came to her. It was said that Black Holes could be time machines and that the Big Bang was a White Hole. If a Black Hole could act like a time machine, could the White Hole of all Black Holes be the Big Bang? Would that help with the idea of White Holes above subatomis levels? Well, if the Big Bang was viewed as a White Hole then that could certainly be put into her work. As she started to write down the next paragraph she heard someone talking. “You seem to be very busy there,” Lilith's head shot up and she turned to look at the alien, having missed most of that sentence, being too enthralled in her work. “you must be working on something for school. I never see that many books for something recreational.”"It is homework for university, although I usually have a vast number of books on me anyway." |
[/b] Lilith smiled. The girl did love books. "I've got to do an essay on the 'Probability of White Holes above the Subatomic Level'. It's quite a lot of fun, I get to talk about Black Holes, Worm Holes, Quasars, the Big Bang. There's so much I can mention. I've always been fond of Black Holes as a subject. When I was sixteen I did a dissertation on Black Holes and how to travel through them. Thankfully I had a book which had already informed me of the hows. And knowledge that Worm Holes are also methods of travel through a Black Hole. That was lots of fun although I've never been too good at structuring essays. "[/b] Lilith said, giving a soft laugh. "If I'm boring you, sorry. What kind of subjects interest you?"[/b] The student was well aware that she had a habit of talking about what she loved and dominating the conversation so she was often careful to try and move the conversation onto something that the other person liked as well. Even better if she shared the interest. Lilith was interested in some what of a range of things, after all, so usually she managed to find something that might be shared as an interest. Just then the sound of chatter brought the student out of her thought, children were coming in and a smile lit upon Lilith's face, she loved seeing the children - they were always so friendly and lively, although that probably wasn't good for the injuried alien besides her. Some of the children seemed to have noticed the alien and Lilith looked at them, wondering if she could recognise any faces. John was there, with his sister Sarah. She seemed to have a group of friends with her, some that occasionally Sarah had brought over to Lilith for chocolate. Nigel was running up with a group of three of his friends. They all looked a bit nervous about approaching, some glancing towards the bus. But there obviously weren't worried about the alien, just getting told off for talking to a stranger. “My name is Sinestro,” At that, Lilith thought. She definitely knew that name, although she hadn't thought she would meet Sinestro, let alone of earth, or injured. Her first thought after that was how did Sinestro get so badly injured. After all, he had formed an entire corps and then attacked earth. So all in all, he didn't appear to be the kind of person who would easily get such an injury. Was anyone else under threat? She hoped not. Secondly she wondered what was the advantage of saying his name, after all, he had attacked earth and if anyone knew the name then they probably wouldn't be so willing to help or be friendly. Then Lilith wondered how exactly she would be expected to act. Or even how she should act. This was going to get very confusing. Lilith knew that Sinestro had gone back to the Green Lantern Corps. So should she continue to be a student and react in some way. Not aware of who Sinestro was in the past, or aware. Or did she reveal that she was a Blue Lantern and see what had attacked him and whether she could help. The later did seem more reasonable. “I apologize: I should have said something earlier.” "No worries, I didn't introduce myself either-"[/b] Lilith was about to introduce herself when a small child ran up and hugged her. "Lilith!" The child exclaimed, latched onto her arm and the student gave a smile. "Nice to see you Ginny."[/b] Lilith said, giving Sinestro an apologetic smile. The other children were coming closer now. Ginny was one of the youngest that often came to see Lilith and so was not really bothered by the strange alien. With her free arm, Lilith managed to procure a single block of Cadbury chocolate. She never gave the children too much chocolate. They did get hyper and Lilith also didn't want them to rot their teeth. Ginny unwrapped herself from Lilith's arm to get the chocolate and happily sat down and ate it. "Lilith's my name, nice to meet you."[/b] Lilith said, wondering how she would let him know that she was a Blue Lantern. More children had come along. "It's not halloween, why are you dressed up?" Asked a young child that Lilith had not seen before. "I think it's an alien." Said John, before turning to Lilith. "Is it safe?" At that point Lilith felt like she could have face palmed. "John, you don't talk about people as 'it', especially when they can hear you. It's impolite-"[/b] At that point Ginny had decided to climb up on the bench and latch herself onto Sinestro's leg. The girl was gentle but Lilith worried that she might hurt Sinestro. "Ginny, you don't hug strangers."[/b] Lilith said, wondering who had taught Ginny to hug. Probably her parents, Lilith saw how Ginny often got what she wanted when she hugged them. At that point there was now a crowd of children around them, most of them asking questions all at the same time, mostly towards Sinestro. "Sorry about them. I don't think aliens are as scary as you thought they might be."[/b] Lilith appologised, wondering if there would be anyway to ask what had caused his leg injury and to see if she could help. At Secondary School she had studied German, maybe she could comunicate in German, after all, wouldn't the ring translate for Sinestro? Leaving the children none the wiser. Lilith's eyes flickered to see if Sinestro was wearing a ring, which she suspected he would be. At that point one of the girls had taken Sinestro's hand and was examining them. Lilith hoped that the child didn't have any nail polish on her. "Please calm down."[/b] Lilith said, moving her books as they seemed in danger of getting muddied foot prints on them.[/div] tags: Sinestro word count: muse:Hagalaz Runedance notes: Do you mind that Lilith knows that Sinestro is a Green Lantern? [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Sinestro didn’t have much of a problem with children. Normally, he found them charming, and innocent- more easy to deal with than their adult counter-parts. It never seemed to change, no matter what planet he was on. Maybe it stemmed from only having Soranik as a child- he had been his happiest when he had been raising his daughter. Seeing children probably set him mind back to those memories, putting him in a lighter mood than he might have otherwise been. In turn, he treated them a bit more carefully, not wanting to upset them.
But that didn’t mean he liked a hoard of them cluttering around him like lost little sheep.
For the most part, he sought to ignore them, letting them say whatever they pleased about him as the young girl dealt with their excitement. For the children, it was probably very interesting to see an alien. He could hear a couple of the shyer girls talking to one another in the background, commenting on his pointed ears and how he looked like an elf of some kind. He didn’t know what an elf was, but they seemed pleased by the thought so he left them without any corrections.
And then one of the little monsters decided to latch onto his leg, at which point he inhaled a cry of pain and gripped at the bench. He had… not been expecting that. Cursing vibrantly, but in Korugaran, the Green Lantern having to show some epic control in not smacking her across the park. Inside, he let her climb off, quietly regaining himself. After a moment, and her apology on their behalf, he shook his head.
“It’s fine,” he grumbled, “they’re only children. But my doctor would be displeased, however, to find me letting children jump around on my leg.” Soranik would probably come back and restrain him to the bed again. Keep him locked in his own home base. She wouldn’t like to hear that he had done exactly what she hadn’t wanted him to- he had gone out before giving his leg enough time to heal. But he hadn’t expected it to be so painful.
Sinestro watched as the girl took his hand, looking at the ring there. “Are you married?” she asked innocently.
“Yes,” Sinestro told her, leaving it at that. He turned his sights back on Lilith, sighing softly. “They seem to like you. I suppose I can’t really complain. They are nice enough.” He shrugged his shoulders, not entirely sure what to do about the kids. They were looking at him so expectantly, and he didn’t have a charged ring to entertain them.
“Yes, I am an alien,” he told them, much to their delight, “I come from a planet far away, where you lot would look like the weird ones instead of me.”

Sometimes giving chocolate to them made them calm down because they were grateful and other times it made them hyper. But it seemed that having an alien around made them excited and Lilith doubted that it would have any other result. Unless aliens became more frequent which wasn't likely to happen unless Earth expanded it's space projects which just wasn't happening. But Lilith realised that she had gone into thought and left Sinestro alone to cope with the children. Fortunately nothing too much had seemed to have happened apart from Ginny hugging Sinestro's leg. Lilith did not understand what Sinestro said, she assumed it must be words in his native language. The student winced sympathetically. “It’s fine, they’re only children. But my doctor would be displeased, however, to find me letting children jump around on my leg.” Lilith knew how doctors could be, always wanting the best for their patients. "If they are any problem then I can always go find their teacher or take you somewhere quieter." |
[/b] Lilith suggested, which caused the children to all groan in disappointment. "We'll be careful." One of the children said and all the others nodded in agreement and continued to be quieter and more careful. "It isn't likely to last."[/b] Lilith commented. It never took too much time for the children to forget and be excited although Lilith hoped they might remember it for a a few minutes. “Are you married?” Blue eyes flickered to the girl who had asked the question, to Sinestro and then to his ring and she was suprised by the answer. “Yes,” Lilith did not often think about whether or not others would be married and often expected the answer to be no. Especially in the case of Lanterns. “They seem to like you. I suppose I can’t really complain. They are nice enough.”"They are all very nice. Best children I've had the honour of meeting."[/b] Lilith said, which inspired Ginny to ask: "Does that mean we can have more chocolate?" "It isn't good for you, you know."[/b] Lilith told them. Some children had already taken chocolate out of their little lunch boxes. One thoughtful child decided to offer crisps around to everyone, including Lilith and Sinestro. The boy's face was hopeful and she took a crisp to please him although she got the impression that the boy really wanted to try and make Sinestro happy and more included. “Yes, I am an alien, I come from a planet far away, where you lot would look like the weird ones instead of me.” The children were all excited again and were crowding closer. Lilith did not mind being left at the side; she usually got the center of attention but she hoped that Sinestro would be able to cope and she hoped for his general well being. If any of the children tried to climb on Sinestro again that would not be for the best. "Why do you speak English? Is it the same on your home. In the movies all aliens speak English but not all people do." One of the oldest children asked Sinestro, his voice curious. Lilith wondered whether this child might grow to be a translator or to work in astrophysics. She showed an interest and natural curiosity.[/div] tags: Sinestro word count: ??? muse:Stuff notes: Do you mind that Lilith knows that Sinestro is a Green Lantern? He didn’t mind them all crowded around him, though he was a little concerned they might climb on his leg again. One crawled onto the seat, sitting beside him without getting on his leg. Another decided it would be alright to climb into his lap, sitting on his non-injured leg. Sinestro allowed this, as they would just children and he really couldn’t tell them no without sending them into a tizzy of tears. Wanting to avoid the screams of the young, he decided to let them do what they wanted within reason- he would only stop them if they started to cause him additional pain. Like he wasn’t in enough already.
“I speak English because of this ring,” he told them, looking down at the green ring on his finger. They all looked at it as well, the man extending his hand towards the circle of children so they could see it better. “It is a powerful tool that helped me learn the language when I first visited this planet. Normally, it would automatically translate things for me, so I would not have as much trouble finding the right words.”
“Why can it tra… tran… why can’t it do that now?” Asked one of the children, causing Sinestro to smile slightly at her failed attempt to say the word.
“Because it is out of power right now. A shame, really, as I would probably be able to show you kids some cool things with it if it were charged up.” He wouldn’t normally waste his ring’s power playing around with children, but he supposed it wouldn’t hurt. Anyway, he had made constructs to illustrate his power in the past. It made no difference to do it with children, save that the constructs would have to be light and cheerful to entertain them. He was not a master of ‘nice’ constructs, so perhaps it was a blessing in disguise that he couldn’t make anything for them. The last thing he needed was a batch of horrified children screaming and wailing when his ears were still sensitive after the last battle he’d been in. Explosions weren’t nice on the eardrums.
“Are you a super hero?!” Asked one of the children in sudden excitement, “do you fight crime with superman?”
“I have… encountered Superman in the past,” Sinestro fibbed slightly, “and I suppose you could call me a super hero.” This seemed to really delight the children, who pretty much exploded into a mess of questions and comments he couldn’t decipher. They were speaking too quickly, and too loudly over one another for him to understand much of what was going on. Maybe he shouldn’t have mentioned superman. In truth, he had only met the man back when he had been considered a villain, and they hadn’t exactly worked together. It was more… fighting one another than that. He looked at the young girl beside him, hoping she might have some way of calming wild children down.
Candy only seemed to have made them more bouncy.

There were easily distracted and yet sometimes they could become totally fixated on things. Now was one of those times, the student guessed, looking at the crowd that had come over to talk to Sinestro. “I speak English because of this ring,” Lilith watched as he showed the children the ring, listened to some of the girls talking about how they wanted the ring in various different colours. “It is a powerful tool that helped me learn the language when I first visited this planet. Normally, it would automatically translate things for me, so I would not have as much trouble finding the right words.” Lilith was fiddling with her own ring as she listened to the group and she wondered why Sinestro's wasn't translating. “Why can it tra… tran… why can’t it do that now?” Well, one of the children seemed to have beat her to the point. “Because it is out of power right now. A shame, really, as I would probably be able to show you kids some cool things with it if it were charged up.”Lilith considered this, wasn't it possible for a Blue Power Ring to charge a Green one? By hoping for their well-being, Lilith remembered. Well, she would consider doing that for Sinestro, it did look like he needed someone to hope for him considering his injured leg. “Are you a super hero?!” Lilith heard the excitement and the smile on her face possible widened. Excited little children were always cute. “do you fight crime with superman?” The student looked over at Sinestro, wondering how he would answer the question. “I have… encountered Superman in the past, and I suppose you could call me a super hero.” That certainly sent the children into a frenzy of excitement and questions that were impossible to understand. She decided to ammend her earlier thought that excited little children being cute was only when they were slightly excited. Lilith looked at all of the children, some bouncing up and down as they tried to get closer. They probably needed something to distract them and thus calm them. Thinking, Lilith quickly searched her pockets for some change. Yes! She had a ten pence coin, left over from England. "Magic trick, anyone?" |
[/b] Lilith asked. Hopefully it would prove a distraction and calm down the children a little bit. At one point when she was younger, Lilith had tried to learn 'magic tricks', they involved slight of hand and working the fallibility of the human eye. It should be easier to distract the children than adults. They were much more willing to believe it was magic. Lifting her hand into the air, dramatically, Lilith moved the coin to her fingers, attempting to make it look like it had appeared out of thin air. Hopefully. It had been a while since she had practiced. Then she placed the coin in her hand, palming once more before pretending to throw it into her other hand - making a sound as she closed the later hand. Then she opened the second hand, showing that it was empty although it should appear that she had thrown a coin into it. Looking at the children, Lilith hoped that her tricks had managed to calm the lively bunch somewhat.[/div] tags: Sinestro word count: ??? muse: Folk notes: None Though BRY made this table, all the credit goes to RAVEN for the idea! :D[/style][/td][/tr][/table][/center]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Thankfully, it seemed children distracted by her ‘magic’, Sinestro letting out a slight sigh of relief. They were happy to ask about the magic, though some were still interested in him as well, particularly the ones who were sitting near or on him. Magic had not been enough to sway their attention. One of the boys stood up on the bench, taking a moment to touch his pointy ear before letting out a giggle of delight.
“Your ears ARE real,” he hummed, “it’s not like santa’s beard at the mall! If you tug on it, they come right off! But your ears look like they’ll stay there no matter how hard I tug!”
“Yes,” Sinestro chuckled, “they are real ears… but don’t tug on them, because that’ll hurt.”
“Ok,” said the boy, sitting himself back down, “your leg is hurt too, isn’t it? You must have got hurt fighting crime!”
“But Superman never gets hurts- heroes aren’t supposed to,” said a girl in knowing protest. Sinestro sighed, nodding along. It seemed the children had their very clear views on heroes, and his being wounded didn’t fit the bill.
“we are not all built like superman,” he assured her gently, “some of us can be broken. But I promise you- I didn’t go down without a fight!” They seemed to enjoy the answer, and it didn’t seem to shatter their faith in heroes. So he felt he could probably leave it at that.
Luckily, they didn’t have the chance to ask him anything else, as their instructor had called them back over to the bus. They bid goodbye to the two of them, offering hugs and happy words before departing gingerly back to the bus. Sinestro watched them go, not sure if he was glad they were leaving or not. He certainly needed a rest from them- all the excitement had worn him out almost completely. With a sigh, he looked down at his shoes, trying not to close his eyes and fall to sleep just yet.
With the bus heading off, all the children gone, Sinestro turned his attention back to the girl. “A rowdy lot, but fine enough… for humans,” he commented, which was Sinestro talk for ‘they were cute, I liked them’.
Compliments weren’t his thing.

Quite a few were distracted from Sinestro and focused on the few tricks that Lilith could acutally perform. Her performances were not that good though and some of the children eventually figured out the trick and she instead started to explain about how the coin trick worked. Forgetting that some got disappointed when told that magic tricks were not magic but just tricks. But a few were attempting to learn how to do the tricks with various coin sized items that they had in their pocket. Lilith wondered what the teacher was going to think about the children when they returned. "That isn't a normal coin." One of the children pointed out as they looked closely at the coin. "It's from my home. England. We have a different currency. Different coins. This is a ten pence coin. If you have ten of these you have one pound" |
[/b] Lilith explained, knowing that the children would most likely forget all that she told them in a few minues or even seconds. There were like that, the only remembered that Lilith was good at giving chocolate and explaining things that would need explaining again. It was then that the children were called over by their instructor and Lilith waved them all good bye, wishing them a good day. Sighing, a smile apparent on her face. As they left she took out her work again and finished the sentence she had been writing. It was only a few words and a full stop. “A rowdy lot, but fine enough… for humans,” The student gave a soft chuckle at Sinestro's words. "They are a brilliant. They often light up my day. And give me a reason to carry around a large amount of chocolate. They do seem to love it."[/b] The student said, looking at the coin she still had in her hand before pocketing it. Then she turned to look at Sinestro, wondering whether she should reveal that she was a Blue Lantern. This was the first time she had ever met a Green Lantern and she was not sure how secret identities were between Lantern Corps. Maybe she should drop hints and see if he could figure it out. It could be like a science experiment! Lilith did miss doing some of the experiments that she had the chance to do in Chemistry and Biology when she had studied them and her chosen course of study didn't leave much experimentation. "The young are the hope for the future, although they don't know it. Some of them may be shaped by this meeting, you know?"[/b] Lilith commented, looking up at the alien, fiddling with the pen in her hand as she considered the essay.[/div] tags: Sinestro word count: ??? muse: Folk notes: None Though BRY made this table, all the credit goes to RAVEN for the idea! :D[/style][/td][/tr][/table][/center]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Sinestro was a little sad to see the bus go, but he didn’t say anything about it. If he made a fuss, it would prove he was nothing more than a massive baby who didn’t know how to deal with his emotions. No one else needed to find out that he had a squishy center. Enough humans had already learned that about him with his time on the planet. It had been a surprise to him, as well. It wasn’t like he had always been hiding himself or anything- it had been a portion of his soul that he had locked away. To have it reveal itself again was unexpected.
And it only seemed quicker to appear when he was around children.
He knew it was because he had only known his daughter as a child. That he wanted the chance to try again and raise a kid properly. There was an innocence about them, too. Something he really enjoyed seeing when they expressed their opinions. They weren’t fueled by rage or will or love or fear- they weren’t in control of anything. That was very amusing to him.
He looked at the girl as she mentioned hope, scrunching his nose at the thought. “I wouldn’t go that far- they’re just children. Hope isn’t really something that’s needed, so I wouldn’t waste such a word on them. They are good beings, and they have potential, but they need guidance and strength to move forward with their lives.” He knew she probably hadn’t meant much with her comment, but he had taken it in a whole different direction.
It couldn’t be helped- hope was not something that sat well with him.
After all, it had been the emotion that could drain the yellow ring back in the day. In the same breath, it could charge a green ring. Somehow, he imagined it was probably extremely ironic that he was on both sides of the fence when dealing with blue lanterns. How many people were both drained and restored by one ring?
Sighing, he rubbed his leg, though he couldn’t feel much through his cast. It was pretty painful, all things considered, having his leg out and about so soon after his injury. Maybe he should have listened and stayed in bed a little while longer.
But he was never one to listen… ever.

Of course, now she was preoccupied with her plans on seeing how much she could test Sinestro before he realised she was a Blue Lantern. It would be an excellent preliminary experiment to see how easy it was for someone with knowledge of the Corps to figure out that she was a Lantern! So then she would know the limits and where to be careful! It was an important learning thing, she hoped. Otherwise it might seem a bit impolite to hide the knowledge from him when his ring might need charging. But he had a Lantern so all would be well. Great, even. “I wouldn’t go that far- they’re just children. Hope isn’t really something that’s needed, so I wouldn’t waste such a word on them. They are good beings, and they have potential, but they need guidance and strength to move forward with their lives.” Hope wasn't needed! Lilith frowned, personally she liked hope very much. It was certainly needed if one looked at some of the more desolate outcomes of science that humans had predicted so far. "Hope is extremely important. It's like the life blood of society. After all, with all the theroies such as entropy and the Big Crunch and the fact that no matter what we do it's all completely insignificant in the terms of the universe, if you don't have hope you might be sad. And sad is bad." |
[/b] Lilith replied. Of course, she had been attempting to figure out if being in any of the Lantern Corps made you less insignificant but when taken in comparison to the universe it still didn't seem like that could make much of an impact. But there was always hope that they could be remembered and would do something good. "Besides, I'm sure that the children may do something in the future that is significant to Earth, or America. Maybe some will feel inspired from this meeting to go on and work on interstellar or even intergalatic travel. Maybe one will become a president and-"[/b] Lilith was distracted when Sinestro rubbed his leg and the student felt sympathy for him. Broken injures were dreadful and when on a strange planet it had to be even worse. She really did hope he would get better soon. "You sure you don't need any painkillers or chocolate? Or is there anything I can do to help?"[/b] Lilith asked, looking up at Sinestro.[/div] tags: Sinestro word count: ??? muse: Various notes: None Though BRY made this table, all the credit goes to RAVEN for the idea! :D[/style][/td][/tr][/table][/center]
