Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Raven had driven away the evil woman for now. The explosion in the shack had woken Sora up, she hurt what seemed like all over, but she had to get on her feet, she couldn't stay down. She manages to climb to her feet with a ringing in her ears, she looks around her, the scene was surreal, this intense scene before her. A small smoke cloud rising in the sky from the huge explosion, Raven looking quite flustered from her moment of desperate attack and, oh god ... Sinestro.
"Sinestro? Sinestro!? DADDY?"
All the pain in Soranik's body is suddenly forgotten when she sees Sinestro go down, she stands up and rushes over to him. She is hopeless without her ring, she falls to her knees as her brilliant medical mind goes into a mess of calculations, seeing all the wounds Sinestro has suffered, she knows what she needs, but she doesn't have it. Then suddenly, and idea
"Raven! Teleport us to the nearest human hospital, now!"
She shouted at the woman, and realized that Raven might still be reeling from her attack, but now was not the time for recovery, now was the time for action. Hopefully Raven has enough sound mind left in her to take action.

The option had been rash, hasty. While the Titan had been the one manipulating the fear in the attacker, she was still aware of the emotions around her. Sinestro had felt the fear as well. The Titan felt guilty as she lay in the sand. Already Raven's healing had left the ringing her ears a thing of the past. The healing was now focused on her cracked ribs which had been the crippling blow for Raven. It was the last and the most serious wounds for the Titan to heal herself from. The Titan pulled herself to her feet. Sinestro did not appear to be in the best of situations and neither did Soranik, the Titan could sense her worry and desperation. "Sinestro? Sinestro!? DADDY?"
Raven frowned, she understood 'Sinestro', but the last part she couldn't understand. It sounded alien. The Titan's indigo eyes flickered to the ring, it was out of power. Had the ring been translating everything? Probably. The Titan considered what to do. On past occasions the half-demon had absorbed knowledge from others, including their language. But Raven felt impolite when using it and she had never tried it with an alien. Although it didn't sound unpronounceable to the human tongue, Raven guessed there could be problems with speaking it. The pain that Soranik must have been suffering was lessened, Raven noted, the Green Lantern must be focused on her father.
Getting to her feet, Raven swayed, the effects of the mental attack was still lessening, the teenager had no defense against that. But her ribs were healing nicely which had to be a bonus. The Titan couldn't say the same thing about Sinestro and Soranik. Walking over to them, clutching her side as she moved. The Titan winced as she moved. Raven noted that she was moved to feel pity as Soranik fell to her knees, unable to do anything. Moving over, Raven knelt down, focusing on her power to let her know whether she could help. Sinestro's wounds were dreadful, within an instant the injured hero knew that to heal him with her powers would be impossible. If only I had acted earlier. Raven thought, trying to push her guilt away.
Raven closed her eyes as the headache continued, it was making concentrating hard, even though it was slowly decreasing. Could she heal Soranik? "Raven! Teleport us to the nearest human hospital, now!" The Titan blinked as Soranik shouted at her, the Titan unable to understand the words. Automatically the Titan began to calm down the emotions around her. Worrying wasn't going to do any good. Raven noted that currently she wouldn't be able to heal Soranik. In ten or so minutes she might be able to. Sinestro... probably not even when she was at full health.
Sinestro. Soranik unable to heal with without the ring! So Soranik needed equipment which would be found in hospital. That was probably what Soranik had been shouting about. "Hospital it is..." [/b] Raven muttered, more to herself. Hopefully Soranik was talking about going to hospital and wouldn't be angry with Raven's actions. The Titan focused on teleporting them and in a cloud of purple smoke they ended up in hospital. Emotions flew around the room at the appearance and Raven calmed them down, turning to the reception desk. "Titan and Lantern business. We need a medical room. Somewhere private. And equipment. My friend is a doctor."[/b] Hospitals were used to having to patch up superheros every now and again. Aliens... not so much. But Raven manipulated the emotions of the staff so they wanted to be helpful. Normally she had some ethics about this, but with Sinestro badly wounded it seemed like the best option.[/blockquote][/div] [/style]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Sinestro could hear something, he didn’t know what, but it was something. Some kind of humming… rustling. It had come after a cold whoosh that had actually managed to stir him away from his sleep. Something… were they in some new area? He remembered the cold- it was the same sensation that had washed over him the first time he had felt Raven teleporting them back to his base. He had fainted then. This time… he was already feeling too far gone to sink any lower.
He didn’t wake up- he didn’t even stir as far as outward appearances were concerned. Though his mind was perhaps slightly more alert than it had been a moment ago, he was still stuck in a sense of entrapment in his own body. Not that he cared that much- he wasn’t too keen on moving around and putting himself in pain.
It would only make him snippy.
They were continuing to talk. Or move around. Or something. It was starting to seem like there was something important going on around him, though he hardly had the frame of mind to put together that the fuss was actually ABOUT him.
Lying there, where ever he was, he tried to fall back into complete darkness. Though he didn’t want to die, and would fight as bitterly as possible, he also didn’t like being where pain was slowly trickling back into his mind. The injuries to his body were swiftly becoming apparent to him.
Obviously, there were several very bad burns all over his body from the explosion, as well as a fine coating of bruises and scrapes from his fight with the woman who called herself Death. He also had a few deep gashes on his chest and over one shoulder from where pieces of debris, metal and portions of wood, had cut into him. In terms of internal damage, it was difficult for him to pinpoint what was exactly wrong with him, but he knew his chest had been crushed in the midst of the fight. Several ribs had been broken, the pain a clear enough indication of that. If shards of bone had pierced anything, though, he really couldn’t tell. It wasn’t like it was easy to know what kind of internal damage was weakening you from within. Of course, there was also his leg. He didn’t know what that bitch had done to him, but the pain was immense, almost over-shadowing the rest of the pain filtering through his body. It felt like the bone had been ripped apart, and there would be no chance of him walking on it in the near future. All in all, his body was in shambles. A cornucopia of broken bones and charred flesh.
To think, it had started just because Raven had wanted him to stay in bed and get better from a cold or the flu, or whatever it had been. A compromised immune system from some chemicals he never should have messed with. He should have said no- he should have been out on patrol as usual. Perhaps he wouldn't have been taken by surprise. Maybe he could have fought back quicker, or been more resourceful without it ending in him being a ball of wounds.
And he had the pleasure of being awake to feel the damage. Why did he have to have such a strong will? He wouldn’t die, and apparently that meant he wouldn’t fully fall back to sleep, either.
He let out a low groan, which was about as much as he could manage at that moment, will and all.

Soranik Natu has spent the latter half of her life helping people in dire need such as this, but this is perhaps the first time she has ever been emotionally charged enough to lose her head and composure. Of course she can speak english, not very well, but she can speak it. In all her panic, she had been shouting at Raven in her native tongue, she only realized this after she arrived at the hospital and heard Raven actually speak english to those around them. It was such a ... funny Language.
But they didn't know Soranik and her father were greenlanterns. Neither of them had their uniforms on any more. Soranik was sporting a simple pair of jeans and a black spaghetti strap tank top. They were obviously alien though.
"I am doctor and know procedure to solve my fathers injuries. Need procedure room and tools."
Of course, they were teleported into an Emergency room, so the staff was all abuzz. They often did not have time to think in the E.R., instead they acted based on training and in this situation, that training came in handy. Two nurses come rushing out the large automatic door as it swings open, a vaguely padded wheeled gurney at their sides, behind them is a physician who looks fairly shocked.
"You're a doctor? And you're Green Lanterns?"
The doctor didn't recognize either of them, but he did recognize Raven, if only vaguely. Staffers began to gather as word spread quickly at what had happened. Two red skinned beings with strangely colored eyes had literally appeared from thin air in the lobby. Soranik herself was injured, but all the adrenalin coursing through her system had given her the focus to ignore those wounds, even as she limped along side the doctor and two nurses. They wasted no time in getting Sinestro up onto the gurney and then began wheeling him towards and operating room.
"Yes a doctor, a great doctor. My english is not good, usually ring translates. Need a lot of ghola root extract, vurnfilo, exocitofilo, and 87 quins of ...No ... no Augh. Translator...Damn it. Need something for burns, blood clotting, and pain. Korugaran physiology not very different from human but different enough. Please bring. Go! Go and get!"
She had showed her ring to the doctor as they walked. And as they walked, an I.V. was started, but Soranik snatched away any sort of medicine before it could be administered and simply tossed it to the floor where it would leak slowly. She had begun listing off things she needed immediately, but then realized none of it would make any since to them. She was now frustrated on top of worried and anxious. Great combo.
When they arrive at the operating Room and get Sinestro transferred to the cold operating table, the bright lights pour down over him, nurses flock around Sinestro and Soranik and the E.R. doctor stands near by, he is skeptical, but feels this is a grey area where 'wait and see' is fully applicable. When they wheel the full order of operating instruments up to Soranik on one of those fancy perfectly clean gleaming metal trays, Soranik's eyes widen. It has been so long since she was forced to use actual tools of operation and then it had been Korugaran tools, not these barbaric instruments of torture.
"This is operating tools? You are serious?"
She asked, not slamming, but gripping the tray rather lividly. The nurse seemed shocked and offended, but she simply nodded. The doctor began to approach but Soranik palmed him in the chest to back off and it hurt enough that he did just that.
"No! I will do this."
She shouted at the doctor, then turned to Sinestro, her eyes washed with concern and affection, but only briefly. She took up a pair of scissors and began cutting away his clothing, what was left of it of course. Sinestro was able to keep his dignity though, as only the top half and the portions around his injured leg were cut. She realized her hostility wasn't helping things as the nurses began to back away, but Soranik was much to occupied with the moment. She took up a pair of gloves and began fitting them on, then she pointed to Sinestro's leg.
"need splint. also need to see inside, you can do this? Scans for his bones, for his organs?"
The doctor nodded and whispered something to the nurses near him, after that the two of them began setting to the task of getting the in-room x-ray ready. It was finely tuned and had various settings. Afterwards the doctor moved to the side opposite of Soranik and began prepping to set Sinestro's Leg.
"I can't touch this till I've seen an x-ray. So lets just calm down. I know you're panicked, take deep breaths and focus. We're here to help. We will save this mans life."
The doctor's words rang very true to Sora and she closed her eyes, lifted her chin a little. As they began to position the heavy bulky x-ray machine over Sinestro, Soranik took a step back and then took a deep breath. In no time at all, images began appearing on the side of it, bones were easy to make out, crushed organs, not so much. Soranik opens her eyes and stares intently at the x-rays. As she does, she mutters something in Korugaran about how utterly unfit for practical medicine humans are and how disgusted she is at having to use such intensely inadequate facilities, but none there save Raven would probably know what she was even talking about, the tonal inflection in her voice is definitely despair though.
"Yes we save him. Now move this thing, I know what I need do."
She gestures loosely with her hand at the huge bulky awful cancerous machine they just used on her father and then she took up a scalpel. In that same moment, a few nurses rushed in with various kinds of medicine.
"We brought high grade aloe Vera, Antihemorrhagic and morphine. Tell us where you want it."
Morphine. That word, Soranik recognized it. Kyle had mentioned it once during a story that was very unrelated, but Soranik had been curious about the word and decided to look it up. By memory she recalls the nature of the chemical and quickly decides its unfit for use.
"You and you, put aloe Vera on burns. You, put blood clotting agent in needle, morphine bad, bring a thing less reactive, bring ... bring ...Tylenol."
It honestly did not matter what pain killer they used so long as it didn't hurt Sinestro more, she only needed to stabalize him enough that he wasn't dying, and after that she could have Raven take her to her home on earth where she could recharge her ring and then after that Sinestro would be right as rain.
The doctor's face meanwhile has gone pale when he sees the damage to Sinestro's leg. He's also intrigued by the bone structure of these aliens, but pushes his curiosity aside for the moment. He does the best he can to set Sinestro's bones back, but there isn't much he can do with so many fractures. He starts barking orders to nurses to bring him pins and needles, they will need to set the bone using some fairly invasive techniques, which only makes Soranik cringe savagely.
The leg didn't matter, Soranik could break it and reset it later with her ring, right now, they needed to prioritize Sinestro's internal organs. Several very vital ones were bleeding uncontrollably. Which is what Soranik sets to the task of doing. She takes up various instruments and begins cutting on Sinestro.
If sinestro squirms or moves at all, the doctor will suggest they attempt to put him under, but without her ring, Soranik cannot condone the use of any air borne chemical agent on Sinestro for fear of how it may damage his respiratory system and compound things. So unfortunately, Sinestro gets to endure this with little more than high grade Tylenol to help with the pain.
Good thing he's made of stern stuff.

Soranik didn't look too good either. "Everything is under control, do not worry." [/b] Raven adressed the patients, calming them down so everything was in order. The negative emotions were not helping reduce the headache already within her. On the plus side her ribs had almost healed. "I am doctor and know procedure to solve my fathers injuries. Need procedure room and tools." Raven turned her attention back to the doctors, making sure that they would be calm as well. "You're a doctor? And you're Green Lanterns?" Raven glanced over to the doctor who was speaking to Soranik. Go! Go and get!""She is a Green Lantern and you can trust her. Please give her anything she asks for."[/b] Raven said politely to the doctor as she came over to the two. The doctor recognised her, Raven could sense that. Thankfully the doctors were starting to get in order. As things moved on, Raven could sense the stress within Soranik, she could also tell that the alien doctor was not feeling the injuries at the present moment. That would make it harder for Raven to heal her. The Titan guessed she would have to wait until Soranik began to feel pain to heal her. But that didn't mean that she couldn't help the situation. As the equipment was brought out, Raven sensed Soranik's horror. "This is operating tools? You are serious?" Things would probably not be that easy, Raven wondered how similar (or dis-similar) the medical equipment was on Korugar. Soranik's words had scared the nurse and offended her. The emotions were tense. Raven placed a hand on her head as she focused on keeping the bad emotions away from her. They were around her and Raven felt like one of the singular points that did not feel. Mind you, there wasn't that much coming from Sinestro. "No! I will do this." The words were shouted and the emotions were too strong for Raven. Walking forward she lightly placed a hand on Soranik's shoulder. "Keep calm, your emotions won't do you any good."[/b] Raven said, using her power to force calm into everyone in the room. It wasn't often that she forced emotions, more often she influenced. But with everything that was happening the Titan felt certain that the more calm the better. After that Raven moved back, not needing to keep a check on the emotion around the room. It was always obvious, not something that she could turn off. If things became too worrisome she would calm it again. "Are you okay?" A nurse asked timidly, Soranik had been scaring them. "I've nearly finished healing myself."[/b] Raven said, the headache was dying away now that she had forced the emotional atmosphere to be calm. "And her?" Asked the nurse, gesturing at Soranik. "I should be able to heal her after the operation. My power wouldn't be able to save him, though." Raven commented, gesturing to Sinestro. Although that was if she wanted to survive. The Titan wondered what might happen if Soranik and the doctors couldn't help Sinestro. Raven contemplated that if there was no other way to save Sinestro she may be willing to give her life to heal him. It made sense, the teenager feared that she was loosing control and that her demon side would come through. If she died then that couldn't happen. It seemed like a good option if it came down to it. "need splint. also need to see inside, you can do this? Scans for his bones, for his organs?"Raven was drawn out of her dark thoughts by Soranik demanding things to help her father. The Titan knew that the Lantern would be able to get those things. "I can't touch this till I've seen an x-ray. So lets just calm down. I know you're panicked, take deep breaths and focus. We're here to help. We will save this mans life." One of the doctors had said and in no time they had the X-Rays and Raven had sent out another burst of calm into the room, although mainly aimed at Soranik. It couldn't be easy for her. Watching from a distance, Raven's indigo eyes scanned over the images and she listened to Soranik's murmers in her native tongue. It was obvious to Raven that she disliked the equipment and probably complaining about that. "Yes we save him. Now move this thing, I know what I need do." That was good, Raven noted. She didn't need to look at Sinestro to tell how he was doing, the Titan could feel it around her, just like emotions. The good thing was that he hadn't died while they were getting the X-Rays. The bad thing was that his condition wasn't improving. "We brought high grade aloe Vera, Antihemorrhagic and morphine. Tell us where you want it.""You and you, put aloe Vera on burns. You, put blood clotting agent in needle, morphine bad, bring a thing less reactive, bring ... bring ...Tylenol."The situations for Sinestro didn't seem that good, Raven could sense the pain and she wondered how useful morphine could have been. It was addictive though and Raven doubted that Sinestro would want it to be used no matter the pain. The doctors started to work, Soranik with them, while Raven remained apparently forgotten in the corner. This wasn't unusual for the teenager, in fact she was perfectly fine with it. The teenager only wished that she could be more helpful. If all else fails you can try to heal him. Raven reminded herself as she watched the scene, ready to keep emotions under check. Then… he was on the move. It felt like he was on some kind of ride that he hadn’t wanted to go on. If he was more aware of himself, he might have demanded that they knock it off. He didn’t like being moved around or told what to do, or anything remotely similar to someone else making decisions for him. This certainly felt like he had lost all control, and was completely at the mercy of the vague, blurry figures around him. At least one of the shapes had a recognizable voice, even if nothing coming out made any sense at all. Still, the tone was Soranik’s- he knew who his daughter was even with his senses dulled to next to nothing. Somehow, it made it less intolerable that there was nothing he could do, as long as she was there.
She wouldn’t allow them to do anything he wouldn’t like. Even if they hadn’t known each other long, in the grand scheme of things, she still knew enough about him to be helpful.
He could feel people poking him and messing with his leg, and he could hear some strange machine making menacing noises over him. Still, whatever was going on was going to have to continue without his intervention, as he had no strength left to try and stop what was happening. Hell, he didn’t even know if he was supposed to try and stop what was going on. Soranik was there, and it didn’t sound like she was fighting anyone, so did that mean they were safe? Then why did it still feel like he was being tortured? There was a lot of pain in and around his leg, and it felt like there were plenty of hands messing around with it. Whatever they were doing, it didn’t feel pleasant. And that wasn’t even the worst of it. There was something cutting into him, making his chest heave as he reacted to the pain. He settled again, though the strange pain continued to bother him. It wasn’t like any other torture he had suffered through in the past. Somehow, it felt… gentler.
Like he had been given something to ease his discomfort, and it was slowly starting to kick in. If he was being tormented, and he had mistaken some stranger for his daughter, than at least it wasn’t the worst thing he had ever experienced. That was always something to be happy about… right?
Something told him that he didn’t have to fight back. Though his will power was great, and he was ready to continue fighting for his life, he felt his energy would be better spent keeping his body calm and collected. Whatever was going on, it wasn’t happening to make him suffer further.
He would just have to ask about it once he made it through.
Despite the pain and the uncomfortable prodding around inside of him by strangers, Sinestro passed out again in the midst of the operation. He couldn’t keep himself awake when his body was screaming so profoundly for some rest. What he needed, alongside all the surgery, was rest. Perhaps it was because there was a calm in the air that he had managed to put his mind at ease to rest again. No doubt he had Raven to thank for that one. She seemed to like making people feel comfortable and calm. It helped them, and it helped keep her own emotions in check, too. Not that he thought she was worried about him.
He still had trouble believing people could be concerned about him.

The entire operation had lasted around two hours. With fussing and some bickering Soranik had managed to get the brilliant nurses to respond specifically to her commands, they learned quickly and this was terribly frightening for them. Thankfully, Raven was there to keep them all calm, so the terror couldn't route them all to failure.
After the damage was tended, Sinestro would be left in the following state. His leg was strung up in a barbaric looking contraption that had 16 metal rods drilled into his flesh through his muscle straight into the bone, to hold all the bone fragments in place where they should be. Once they had sufficiently healed, a proper cast would be given. Soranik refused to trust internal antibiotics, so only topical ones were being used, meaning his risk for infection was great. They had a special room that was chemically disinfected at the microscopic level, a clean room, where Sinestro would be held.
His burns had been treated with a high concentration of aloevera, there had been some irritation though, as the chemical wasn't just pure aloevera and humans had tainted it with other chemicals that Soranik hadn't been aware of, so while the pain from his burns had been alleviated, they were not healing properly and would be very itchy.
Through out the operation, one nurse had been set to the task of finding the chemical structure for every known pain reliever on earth and printing it and showing it to soranik while she operated on Sinestro. At some point, she decided that natural opiates could operate just fine. So while it took some effort get their hands on it, natural opium would be what kept Sinestro's pain at bay.
Which is a good thing, because Soranik had done quite a bit of sewing on Sinestro's internal organs, it had really been a miracle considering what she had to work with. She set his ribs, and sewed him up and bandaged him. He was in a hellacious condition, but he was stable and alive and breathing.
Once the operation was concluded, Soranik took an exhausted step backwards and plucked the medical mask from her face. Her eyes were blood shot and her hands were shaking. The job wasn't done yet though. She turned to look at Raven, she needed Raven to take her to her home on practically the other side of the world, so that she could recharge her ring.
But as she lifted her hand, and went to speak, she simply blacked out. She had been in pain the entire time, she had suffered and endured, and it had been her own little version of hell. She had maintained such intense focus to keep the pain at bay. She had several cracked ribs and most of her wounds, while superficial and non life threatening, were still deep.
She didn't fall though, not to the ground, there had been two nurses standing near her that caught her as she fell. They commented idly on her wounds and how exhausted she looked. Fortunately, it was nothing Raven couldn't heal herself, but how long would Sora be unconscious? How long would her body demand she sleep? Time will tell.
[[OOC: I Feel like we could at this point, have Raven heal Sora, and then fast forward to a point where Sinestro and Soranik are in hospital beds in their private special room and maybe Sinestro is coming to some sort of vague consciousness and Raven is there to talk to him. ]]

Every time someone started to feel too much she would send out waves of calm through out the whole room. It could be considered excessive but the Titan knew that when one started to feel too much it would possibly trigger others. Calm was the best when trying to heal someone, as well as preventing her headache from remaining. With everything else healed it was just the pounding head that the teenager had to deal with and that was well on the way to recovery by now.
As they worked, Raven took a seat and watched calmly. Everything was now under control. From where she was it looked like the doctors had taken to Soranik. Of course that had a lot to do with the teenager manipulating their emotions to make sure that they wanted to help and so that no one got stressed. The procedure seemed to be going well. The exhaustion was building up in Soranik and Raven could tell that the pain was threatening to break into her concentration. The alien doctor was doing incredibly well considering her wounds. Raven wished she could help now but all that she could do was sit and keep the emotions as they should be.
It was done and Sinestro's leg was strung up, the alien didn't look good at all, neither did Soranik. Her eyes were blood shot and Raven knew that she had seconds before the alien passed out. Standing up, Raven quickly influenced two of the near by nurses to feel concern for the Lantern and they turned, just in time to catch Soranik as she fell. They commented on her condition as Raven walked forward. "Do not worry, I can heal her." [/b] Raven said, feeling their relief. Operating on one alien had been hard enough. Finally Raven released the emotional grip that she had on the room and the emotions began to build back up. The teenager would need all her attention for healing Soranik. Placing her hands on Soranik's head, Raven focused on the pain. It was not as bad as Sinestro, more similar to the wounds that Raven had herself. Cracked ribs and cuts, although Soranik's were deeper. The pain was certainly worse, the doctor had kept going while Raven had selfishly been left to heal herself. Concentrating, Raven removed the pain from Soranik and took it onto herself. The teenager winced as she felt the pain build up within her until none of it remained in Soranik, although she was still blacked out. Just like Soranik, Raven shook, her body quivering. It was a lot for the half-demon to cope with. "Are you okay?" Asked a doctor who had just come in, with several items of paper work. "I'll be fine. Can you get these two into a private room. Together, they are family."[/b] Raven said, forcing herself to sound fine as she started to try and expel the pain from her. "Very well, you need to sign these." The doctor said, handing her the papers. Sinestro and Soranik where moved to a private room and Raven followed them, sinking gratefully down onto a chair when the doctors decided that she probably needed one. Despite being perfectly health, Raven had taken on a slightly paler colour and was still slightly shaking. The paper work involved giving them her phone number, she gave the one at Titans Tower. The doctors just needed a way to contact her. Of course there was more to this. Tiredly the teenager worked her way through that which she could. Raven was unable to pay for anything. Being a hero didn't give the best pay and she had no family to support her. Titans Tower was the best place for Raven to stay. It was free. But luckily for her most expenses for superheros were discounted or sometimes nothing. Rubbing her head as she worked on the different papers that were put under her nose, the teenager raised an eyebrow at the insurance and what not. When had there been this much work just to heal people? Then again, Raven never had to deal with this side. Usually it was Vic or whoever was leading the team who worked with the paper work. Lunch passed and Raven didn't get anything. It didn't really matter to the teenager. She didn't feel that well anyway. Too many emotions had begun to flood around her while she dispelled Soranik's pain. It was starting to get dark now and Raven had finished with all the paper. Her hand was aching, the Titan suspected that she had had more paper to deal with because of Sinestro and Soranik being aliens. Some food was brought at about 6pm. One of the doctors had brought her daughter to work (some sort of thing that school offered) and apparently the girl was a fan of the Teen Titans. So Raven had ignored her own tiredness to try and be somewhat cheerful in appearance to the girl who asked questions about the Titans (most which Raven could not answer) such as where they were and when they would get back together. At some point during this, Raven felt Sinestro begin to wake. The girl left, leaving a cooked meal for Raven. The most useful thing had been the girl's cheerful and tireless emotions. While they had been talking, Raven had been using the emotions to help wake her up and to move the last of Soranik's pain from her. Sighing, the teenager bowed her head for a second. "Do you need anything?"[/b] The Titan asked, turning her attention to Sinestro. The food could wait, even though the teenager was now aware of the hunger that was within her. On top of her tiredness. The teenager was working with three hours sleep and a lot of meditation over the night. She hadn't eaten since last night either. I'll be the one with the flu if I'm not careful. Raven thought with dry humour.[/blockquote][/div] [/style]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Sinestro opened his eyes, confused by the area around him. It was white and unfamiliar, not to mention less inviting than even his own base had been. Groaning lowly, he forced his eyes to stay open, finding that his body preferred the idea of sleep to being awake. It actually felt like his body might beat his mind, but luckily he was a very stubborn sort. Writhing strangely in the bed, the discombobulated Korugaran tried to get himself up, assuming at first that he was waking up after yet another day of fighting and work. But it wasn’t just another day, that much even his frail mind picked up on pretty quickly. There were cables and things attached to him, hooking him up to various monitors and machines. Though the doctors were mindful of all Soranik’s wishes with medicines and such, they were still concerned about their strange new patient, and were doing what they could to keep an eye on him, even if they didn’t know for sure if their machines could read alien anatomy as well as it could read human. It seemed to be working so far, though, as the heart monitor’s beeping increased slightly when the red skinned man noticed something a little off with his leg.
Like the fact that it was strung up in some kind of monstrous bear trap.
He frowned, trying to reach to at least touch his leg. However, his body was still resistant to listening to him, refusing to let him do much more than raise his hand slightly off the bed. So much for trying to get himself out of the torture machine. Were there pieces of metal sticking inside his leg? What the hell was going on?
His mind was becoming more alert as the time went on. He realized there was someone beside him, asking him if he needed anything. Slowly turning his head, he spotted Raven, and was glad to see she didn’t seem too worse for wear. A little tired, perhaps, but he imagined that was something they all had in common. While he didn’t know how long he had been asleep, he was still feeling pretty exhausted. It felt like his body was on the verge of just breaking down again.
“No,” he mumbled, only just loud enough to be heard, “I’m fine.” He realized, then, that she probably had no idea what he was saying because he wasn’t speaking English. It was just normal to speak Korugaran, and he had forgotten that he no longer had his translator working to make sure his words were delivered in a coherent way. He didn’t bother to correct himself, but he made a note to try and speak English the next time he had something to say. Frowning, he wiggled in the bed some more, albeit slightly.
Somehow, his flesh was irritated, too. It felt like his skin was crawling, and he wanted to itch himself desperately. A less formal man might have attempted it, but since he was in the midst of company he would just have to ignore the strange sensations over his burnt skin and just try to focus on something else. It wasn’t like he wasn’t used to forfeiting things for the sake of presentation, anyway.
He wasn’t going to show that he was still in pain, either.
“Sora,” he moaned out in English, his voice extremely hoarse and faint, “where is… my daughter…” he was concerned- he couldn’t clearly remember ever seeing her get back to her feet after she had been attacked by that witch. Sure, he thought he might have heard her while he was being operated on, but there was no proof it had really been her there over him. For all he knew, she had died on the beach and his mind was just playing tricks on him. Thankfully, as it turned out, she wasn’t that far from his at all, lying in a bed in the same white-washed room he was in. Still, he wasn’t completely comforted. She was out like a light, and from where he was positioned he couldn’t see if she was injured or not.
So the struggle against both his body and the contraption holding his leg hostage resumed, the monitors making strange warning noises as he let himself getting a little worked up. This was his daughter, after all, and his mind was telling him that she might be hurt.
In his state, he did not have the reason to ignore his concern.
“This… damn thing…” he growled weakly, fighting lamely against the structure supporting his badly broken leg, “get it… off! I must… see Soranik…” If Raven was tuned into his emotions, she would sense that he was extremely agitated and confused, not to mention more than a little worried about his daughter. All in all, his mood could be described as piss poor.
Someone needed a nap.

[[Sorry it took so long to respond]]
Soranik had passed out, the morning had indeed been a crazy one. But Raven had healed her and so her little nap had been only just that, and not a bit more was required. When Raven and Sinestro began to speak, and Sinestro began to complain, Soranik felt herself woken by the sound of his voice. Not for comfort's sake, but for horror. In the small of your perception where reality and fantasy blend together, deep memories can sometimes play tricks. Sora had been raised to fear and hate the man named Sinestro. His voice was the sound of fear.
So she wakes in a start, sits up. Immediately her surroundings reign her composure in and she realizes where she is. She looks over at Sinestro and Raven, her thundering heart quickly calms itself. She had some vague idea of what Sinestro had been complaining about, so she decides to add a retort.
"I am fine daddy. Apparently Raven was able to use her power to heal me. After I finished doing my best to heal your wounds with these agonizingly barbaric earth tools, I must've passed out from pain and exhaustion. How are you feeling?"
She swings her feet over the bed and hops out and looks down over Sinestro's wounded body. He is wrapped in bandages that are soaked in aloe. Which is apparently only semi-helping, the rest of Sinestro's wounds will heal in a few weeks to months. Of course not if Soranik has anything to say about it. She'll head off to get her ring and perform actual healing as soon as she is able.

Soon enough she would be able to rest, the teenager just needed to put it off for a bit longer. Sinestro had muttered something in reply, it was very quite, but Raven could hear it enough to understand that he was speaking the same language that Soranik had spoken in. It had to be their native language. The Titan wondered if she would ever get the chance to learn it. It wasn't like someone needed to teach her, although she wouldn't mind learning the old fashioned way. If Sinestro didn't speak English it might be a good thing to learn it quickly. Of course, Raven knew it would be rude to absorb someone's knowledge or language without asking. But if the situation was dire enough...
“Sora,” That Raven did understand and her indigo eyes flickered towards the still sleeping form of Sinestro's daughter. “where is… my daughter…” "She's just over there." [/b] Raven said, glad that Sinestro did speak English. Now would not be a good time to bring up that she was interested in learning their language. She would save it later for a more casual conversation time. Sinestro sounded weak and Raven felt concern for him. Sinestro was also getting worked up, she could tell from his emotions and the monitors that were hooked up to the alien. "Sinestro, relax."[/b] Raven commented, the Titan feeling concerned for him. “This… damn thing… get it… off! I must… see Soranik…” Ignoring her tiredness, Raven stood up and moved over to Sinestro and placed a calming hand on his. "I know you are confused, agitated but Soranik'll be fine. The important thing is for you to recover. These machines will help you for now."[/b] The Titan said, too tired to use her empathy powers, after today she had quite worn herself out and Raven hoped that she wouldn't have to use them any more within the day. At that point Raven noticed another peak in emotions; Soranik was waking up. There was some fear and the Titan glanced up in her direction and wondered what had caused those emotions. But the emotions were calming down and Raven assumed that Soranik was not used to waking up in a strange hospital. "I am fine daddy. Apparently Raven was able to use her power to heal me. After I finished doing my best to heal your wounds with these agonizingly barbaric earth tools, I must've passed out from pain and exhaustion. How are you feeling?" Soranik seemed well, sitting up and hoping out of bed. Raven gave a mental sigh of relief and went back to sit down. "Do either of you need food. No doubt it won't be any good, but it's evening now and some food may be useful."[/b] Raven asked, looking at her own food and giving it a try. "Not too good at all."[/b] The Titan commented, although aware that now she was starting to feel the hunger. "If there is anything you need, just tell me."[/b] Raven said, worried that she wasn't being helpful enough. The teenager wondered what else she may need to do. The girl knew that Soranik and Sinestro's rings were out of charge and Raven didn't know how they would charge the rings. Soranik should be in good enough condition to leave the hospital now, anyway. Sinestro would not be leaving any time soon, unless Soranik got the powers from her ring back. Hopefully with Soranik being completely healed Sinestro would calm down and focus on his own recovery. The Titan wondered whether at some point she should head home and catch up with some sleep. It didn't seem that difficult to sleep after going on three hours sleep and a life or death situations.[/blockquote][/div] [/style]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Sinestro looked at Raven, though it seemed to take a moment before he took in what she said and let himself calm a bit. While he was still feeling a little confused and concerned, he imagined she wouldn’t be there to lie to him and tell him things were fine when they weren’t. She wasn’t exactly the lying type. In any case, he knew better than to try and disagree with her. Last time he had tried, he’d ended up passing out in his base. He could probably blame his feeling ill on her teleportation again if he wanted to, but he knew it had more to do with the medications and pain killers shooting through him over anything else. Still, he knew Soranik would not have allowed them to use anything they should not have, so he didn’t feel pressed to worry about a slightly upset stomach and a somewhat disoriented sense of his surroundings.
“You sound tired,” he told her weakly, his English seemingly stronger than Soranik’s, “you should get some rest.” He watched her a moment, wondering just how much of her power she’d had to use that day, and on his behalf. With the attacks on top of everything, and her healing herself and Soranik, no doubt she was exhausted. She didn’t need to be worrying about him when she had her own problems to deal with. But then, wasn’t he doing the same thing?
He frowned, his eyes shifting over to the waking Soranik. Though he couldn’t really get a good view of her, he could sense the fear that had moved through her mind. It wasn’t a fear of waking up in a strange place, or that she had some kind of terrible injury to be worried about. It wasn’t even because she was worried about him and his antics against the machine harboring his leg. No, it was a fear of… him. His voice. Was she thinking about the past him? Or was she still struggling to get used to him now? Either way, the fear in her mind brought a sense of regret to his. One he quickly brushed under the rug as she got herself to her feet and moved over to him. Finally, he could see her, and confirm for himself that she wasn’t hurt after all.
Raven had been right about that.
When his daughter spoke, he grunted, making no mention of having peeked in on her fears rather accidentally. “Barbaric indeed! What is this thing on my leg?! And these machines? You let them do all this to me?” He didn’t mean to be angry with her but, well, alright he did mean to be angry. Because he WAS angry. Angry that he had lost, and that he had nearly gotten them killed. Being a man not great at expressing himself on a good day, of course it translated into him being cranky towards everyone around him. Being in pain and trapped in a hospital only added to his dismay.
And the beeps of the machines were very annoying.
Heaving a sigh, he tried to calm himself down, too caught up in his emotion for someone who could usually play it so cool. “I’m fine,” he continued, “I’ve had worse. What… happened to that woman? Did she escape? I don’t… remember.” Likewise, he couldn’t remember a moment, specifically, where he had felt worse than he did right then, but there had to have been a time when he had been in a tougher situation.
He looked again at Raven, watching her try the food. Though he was in a sour mood, her antics did manage to make him smile, albeit faintly. “Human food is disgusting anyway. I dread to think what that must taste like. But… I could use some water.”

Raven's offer of food was fond, but Soranik was much to concerned with Sinestro to consider food, them being on earth, no human foods came to mind right away, the thought drifted into her head and then without effect, in drifted away again. Hearing Sinestro say he was fine sort of annoyed her, because she knew he wasn't fine. She could only imagine the kind of pain he was in, and if only she had her ring, she could make it all go away.
"Unfortunately, it was me who suggested these things. I had no idea what that woman had done to our rings, or if they can even be recharged. So I was forced to Improvise and moving you as you are to Khorugar is too dangerous. If you ever want to use your leg again, the bear trap is necessary. I am going to see what the quickest route to my home is so I can attempt to recharge my ring and then get you proper medical attention."
She didn't purposefully mean to exclude Raven from the conversation by using her natural language, but it was much easier to communicate as a doctor in a language she was familiar with. So as she spoke with Sinestro, she did so in their native alien language, but she wouldn't Ignore Raven. She turned to the other girl and smiled.
"No food, thank you. Not hunger. But need lantern, how do you feel?"
She would not ask something of Raven that would bring harm to her, Sinestro was stable and both he and his daughter know he has been through far worse than he is enduring now. She did not like seeing Sinestro suffer, but she did not like seeing any one suffer, unfortunately though, if it was beyond Raven's power for now to get them to the other side of the world, then it would just have to wait. Then again, there is one teen titan that could do it, if you can get a hold of her that is...

It was easy for the Titan to handle.“You sound tired,” Raven looked up as Sinestro spoke, it was true, the teenager was exhausted and intended to rest as soon as possible. “you should get some rest.” Raven nodded, she certainly liked the idea of getting rest, it seemed more appealing as the day wore on. "I'll head home soon. Then I'll get time for some rest. But you definitely need some rest as well. Injures generally require a llot of rest." [/b] Raven said. With Soranik now awake, Sinestro seemed to have settled down. The alien doctor looked in good condition. As far as Raven could tell, Soranik was healed and as soon as she got her ring working again, everything would be fine. “Barbaric indeed! What is this thing on my leg?! And these machines? You let them do all this to me?” Raven raised an eyebrow at Sinestro's words, but quitely ate her food. it wasn't good but she needed it. But Sinestro was feeling anger and Raven didn't bother to think about what it was aimed towards at, although she considered removing that emotion from him. However, she decided against it. Already she had taken emotion, influence emotion and to try again could be more strain than she was willing. At least she was under control. Raven listened as Soranik spoke, taking in the alien language as best she could. It still sounded beautiful to Raven, a culture could be expressed in a language, in its tone. "Some day I may have to learn your language. It sounds quite fascinating."[/b] Raven commented as she finished her meal. She did speak several languages already, some she had studied, such as Ancient Greek and Latin, others she had absorbed the language from. But languages were so fascinating and where so often linked and had their basis in other languages. But what Soranik spoke was completely different, it would not have its foundations in Latin of German. The rage of Sinestro began to calm down as he sighed. “I’m fine, I’ve had worse. What… happened to that woman? Did she escape? I don’t… remember." Raven thought back to the fight and gave a nod. "She fled the scene."[/b] Raven said softly, looking down at her feet. If Raven had acted earlier, then Sinestro wouldn't be so injured. "I should have acted earlier. I'm sorry."[/b] Raven said, appologising. Maybe if Raven had used the full extent of her powers everything would have been avoided. If she hadn't hesitated, if she had contained the threat in her soul self, brought to life her fears... the battle would have been won, no damage. But with the threat of that her father may take over and not wanting to start a war with any alien race, she had hesitated and been much more controlled. Although she didn't show it, there was a worry inside her that she could give in, a fear that left her extremely cautious. As she thought about it, the fear became more obvious, it was something she had recognised and faced. But it was still there. Disregarding this, Raven decided to focus on the more important things, such as making sure that Sinestro and Soranik were fine. And she could do that by focusing on their response to her earlier question. “Human food is disgusting anyway. I dread to think what that must taste like. But… I could use some water.”"No food, thank you. Not hunger. But need lantern, how do you feel?"Raven nodded and contacted the nurse, saying that water was needed. "We should have water soon."[/b] Raven told Sinestro. Then she turned her attention to Soranik. "Where is your Lantern? Do you have any plans on how to get to it?"[/b] Raven asked, wondering if she would be needed. "And I'm fine thank you. Just tired."[/b] Raven said, leaving out how she had only just dispelled Soranik's pain a while back. The pain of Soranik had left Raven slightly worried about the doctor, she had clearly overworked herself and Raven had seen that happen to members of the Teen Titans. It was never the best of situations.[/blockquote][/div] [/style]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Watching Raven, he frowned slightly. He didn’t need empathic powers to tell that she was feeling guilty about what had happened. She even sought to apologize for it, though Sinestro would not hear it. “You have nothing to be sorry about- you shouldn’t have been involved at all. It was my fight, and you got dragged into it,” he told her, his voice even and impassive though the words teetered on regretful, “anyway, if I hadn’t blown myself up, things would have been fine.” Not one of his smarter moments, perhaps, but he had been in a bit of a panic after watching both his daughter and Raven go down. He had assumed it was the best way to get things done.
When Soranik spoke, he turned his head towards her, feeling a strange comfort in hearing his native language. English was difficult to speak, especially for someone who wanted to make sure he sounded as proper and intelligent. Korugaran was a lovely language. Even Raven seemed to think so.
Soranik explained the situation he found himself in, though it didn’t do much to improve the mood of the cranky Green Lantern. He imagined he needed to appreciated what she had to say, however, since she was a fully trained doctor and knew what she was doing, probably moreso than anyone else on earth. If she said the strange thing that looked like it was making his leg worse was actually good for him, then he was going to have to believe her. At least for the moment. He sighed lowly, wincing slightly as he tried to find a more comfortable position within his limited mobility. It was going to be an annoying stay, that was for sure. But with the idea of her getting her ring recharged at hand, he knew it wouldn’t have to last for long. She would get back her power and then he could get back on his feet.
He wanted to believe that.
As his daughter took her eyes off of him to speak to Raven, he allowed himself a moment to close his eyes and properly wallow in his pain. He didn’t like to show any kind of weakness in front of other people, even with his leg already strung up to dry. Still, he was exhausted and in pain, and he really just wanted to sleep for the next week or so. Too bad appearances came first for the Green Lantern renegade.
Sinestro could see that Soranik wanted Raven to teleport them both off to retrieve her lantern, but he had to wonder if the young girl would be feeling up to it. She had been through just as much as the two of them, and likely needed her rest as well. “There’s no need to rush off and get your lantern just for me,” he told his daughter in their native language, “I’m fine enough, for now.” He wasn’t, and he knew she knew that as well. He was in a very bad state, and his condition could easily take a turn for the worst at any moment. Talking and being alert didn’t mean the worst had passed. But he didn’t want to think that they were just using Raven for her abilities.
He almost wanted that portion of his life to be over with.
The nurse wandered slowly into the room at that moment, slipping cautiously over to Sinestro to give him the glass of water she had been asked to bring in for him. She looked ready to scream and make a run for it at any moment, obviously not one who had thought she would be meeting aliens during her shift at work. Odd.
“Thank you,” he offered the poor girl in English, if only to keep her from peeing her pants. Slowly, he took a light drink from the glass, his hands shaking more than he would have liked- he needed the both of them to support the glass, and even then it was a bit of a chore to drink. All the same, the efforts were well rewarded, the cold water just what his raw throat desperately needed.
