Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

He had never been inside one, of course, but there had been a moment where he and Hal Jordan had been speaking, back when they had been mentor and trainee, and the man had mentioned a place where you went to watch movies on a massive screen. He had said you went in with your date and you spent the whole time making out, not watching the screen at all. But this… was not how he had pictured things, if he was going to be honest. He had assumed it was a building, where you went inside to view the movie.
He hovered over a very different scenario- some kind of outside theatre, with a massive screen hovering over a parking lot with some scattered cars situation within. There didn’t seem to be many people there, and it certainly didn’t seem like the kind of place he would bring a lady friend to. Perhaps humans were just weird with how they treated their females, and didn’t want to impress them.
Frowning, he floated around from the back of the screen, where he had been looking over the parking lot, and turned his attention onto the screen itself.
It didn’t make his impression of the place any better.
On the screen, that looked about ready to fall apart at any moment, were images of some poorly designed aliens. It was very obvious that they were nothing more than humans dressed in green paint and large-headed masks, snarling and gibbering out nonsense like it was supposed to be some kind of alien language. They were chasing around a few good-looking scientists, though Sinestro did not know their motives. Did the cars in the parking lot have sound, because he certainly didn’t.
Frowning, he watched the screen, tilting his head slightly to one side as he tried to figure out what was going on in front of him. The classic alien movie that they were watching only managed to piss him off- was this really how they saw people from other planets? Dim-witted little devils looking to rip flesh for the sake of it? What alien would possibly come to earth from a highly advanced civilization capable of creating space crafts humans could only dream of, just to eat the people on the planet?
He was indignant- this was prejudice!
Still angry, he continued to watch the screen, arms crossed over his chest as his expression grew more and more annoyed with each passing moment of old-school action. Humans were such stupid beings. While he entertained the notion of setting the whole place on fire, he imagined it would only make the images from the movie rather true. Rampant destruction was not his deal anyway. At least, not recently.
The mighty Sinestro, someone who dedicated himself to his work and sought order throughout the universe, had been successfully distracted by an out-dated movie playing on an out-dated theatre screen.

There were no rainbow bridges in this movie, only plastic 'spacecraft' floating by on strings. Strings! It might as well have been a puppet show.
As the woman was shrieking in terror, Thor let out a hearty laugh, his mouth full of popcorn (another reason why he kept coming back after Jane had taken him here. The food was delicous!) On his first visit here, he had been with Jane and Darcy at a similar set up drive -in in New Mexico. Being here reminded him of them. Both women were busy, but it did not mean Thor would forget the days they went places such as these, as a tribute to their time spent together, even if he had to go alone. Another part of Thor saw film as a way to learn to about Midgard, the way he learned about the land of New Jersey from the goblin Snooki in the series Jersey Shore.
Most people were hardly paying attention to the movie, however. Thor was seated on a high fence, away from the cars and traffic and fogged-over windows. When the scene turned to reveal the creatures hatching from eggs Thor had noticed a new presence in the area. He turned and extended his arm over to Sinestro, offering popcorn to the alien. He recognized him as not being from this world practically immediately. With the exception of mutants, there were not very man red-tinted creatures like he on Earth.
"Wait until the military intervenes, red one. Such a foolish army.."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/bluemiddle.png] Sinestro was a little surprised that he had drifted over to someone else without realizing it, but he didn’t have time to think about it. The man he was near seemed… not entirely normal. His clothing, for one, screamed either ‘weirdo’ or ‘foreign’, and his speech, though brief, seemed to carry a different pattern to it than what he had heard humans using in the past. Arching an eyebrow, he studied the man for a moment, wondering if he was so much a fan of the movie that he had dressed himself up as one of the characters, possibly one that had been in the movie before he had arrived.
Whatever the case, the man was offering him… something, so perhaps he wasn’t all bad. Sinestro arched an eyebrow at the popcorn, but didn’t take any. Clearly, it was some kind of food, with the way the stranger guzzled it, but Sinestro chose to be weary when it came to human foods.
Most of it proved unpleasant to him.
He ignored the offer, frowning. “My name is Sinestro,” he informed the other. Still, he couldn’t be that mad to be called ‘red one’. Most of the time it was ‘pink’ or ‘magenta’ when someone was trying to describe him. He’d take red over those colors any day of the week. Slowly, he moved to sit on the same fence, looking back towards the movie screen. He imagined the army would be appearing there, and not in the parking lot to put an end to this horrible display.
“You enjoy this sort of thing?” He asked with a grunt, “why? Aliens are not like those stupid depictions. Well… I suppose some are, but not a great many.” He frowned and took a huffy attitude towards the movie, still displeased with it.
Sighing, he looked at his ring, which he had used to scan the man beside him. Or not man, as it appeared by the readings. Though he looked quite human, he seemed to have all kind of energy signatures not native to earth. So. Another alien, then, or something else? If he was an alien, then he REALLY wanted to know why he enjoyed the movie they were now watching together.

The popcorn delicacy was part of the film-watching ceremony as far as he had observed, and incredibly tasty. The prince nodded curtly. "Hello Sinestro, I am Thor, of Asgard." he didn't feel the need to use his Donald Blake alias around a fellow other-realmer. He spoke in a low voice, honoring the reverent silence that started once a film was in play. Thor felt like he was becoming very familiar with the culture of Midgard, worthy of his place as representative diplomat and prince of Asgard. Earth was his charge after all.
"I agree. It's so ridiculous. Look at that. Do I seem like I want to eat human flesh? Ha! I take no insult from such fiction." Thor chuckled, still having no clue that it was not, in fact, a comedy. He mocked the woman's scream (oh, wait, that was the male scientist's scream). Thor's sides were beginning to hurt at the absurdity of it all. "That creature is not frightening at all. Wake up a Aiatar in its cave and I'll ask you what is truly frightening." he looked over to Sinestro, as though the lantern knew exactly what he was speaking of, though he was sure to have some sort of idea of what Thor meant. " The humans illustrate the strangest of tales."
"And you? Which realm are you from, friend?" Thor followed Sinestro's glance to the ring but said nothing of it. After all, Thor was using Mjolnir as a cup holder for his soda.

This Thor seemed highly amused by the movie- perhaps it was something that was meant to be funny, and not serious. But Sinestro wasn’t someone who really liked ‘funny’, and he really didn’t think he needed to laugh at human’s foolish interpretations of alien lifeforms. At least through all his jovial banter Sinestro was able to confirm that he was, in fact, an alien. It explained the strange power readings he was getting from the other. His weapon, too, seemed very powerful, though he had to wonder just how important it was considering how the strange man was currently using it.
There had been times where he hadn’t used the ring to perform just his duties as a Green Lantern, he supposed.
He mentioned fear, and Sinestro grunted. “Trust me, I understand fear. Apparently humans scare more easily than I imagined if they think this sort of dribble is frightening.” He still didn’t get how humans could use fear as a tool of entertainment in the first place. What did they like about fear? If they knew what fear could really do, they wouldn’t use it like some kind of a toy.
Oh, the good old days.
“I am from Korugar,” Sinestro replied, “though it’s not a realm, exactly. Just a planet.” This one was a strange one, though he had found some information about Asgard in his recent studies. There seemed to be more out there than even he had been aware of, which was both interesting and annoying to learn.
“Do you often come here to see these films? You seem to have your set up down. I can’t imagine the good of trying to comprehend anything the humans have done. Do you like them?”

Thor enjoyed the escape. It was probably too childish of him even then, but the moments where he could drift and immerse himself into a world where the biggest threat was akin to a small rodent infestation in his scale were practically idyllic. "I am told these are from their classical era of cinema," he added lightly, feeling for once the expert on a Midgardian subject. "Etchings on a cave wall." Thor smiled, knowing Sinestro would understand the comparison. He shifted and tried for more popcorn, "The lady Darcy explained it to me this way- it is so bad. Its good." he nodded briefly and listening to Sinestro describe his home world.
A furrow formed across Thor's brow. "Korugar. I am not familiar with that name. Are there many like you there?" There was much Thor did not know, but never did he pretend to understand what was beyond his knowledge. Questions suited him fine. He was used to them. Asking. Answering. The pattern of exchange humbled him, whereas in his youth Thor acted brashly to only learn from consequence instead of foresight.
"I do visit the drive in from time to time when I can. I used to visit here in the company of humans, actually." he turned a bit more towards his company, a nostalgic feeling reaching his eyes recalling his trips with Darcy, Jane, and Selvig and how he was no longer the stranger to the custom, Sinestro was. "In my realm we sing songs to honor our victories- long verses with chapters of hope and laughter, some of tragedy in battle and hard-earned conquest over great beasts.. The songs have changed," he directs his hand toward the screen, and then looks back to Sinestro, "But I am reminded we are not so different. These are their songs."

So bad it was good- perhaps that was the best way to describe things. Even he found himself enjoying the movie just a little bit more now that he had come to understand the mood in which it was supposed to be taken. He would never admit such a thing, of course. Woe to the day he admitted to enjoying something human. It would probably be the same day he completely snapped an went on a rampage, killing everyone connected to the thing he had enjoyed.
"I suppose I understand," he replied absently, watching the screen, "humans have simple lives, but they are very chaotic. Escaping from that does seem like something they would need to do."
When he asked about Korugar, Sinestro nodded. "Not exactly the same, but yet. My people generally look and think as I do." Maybe their ears were a little less pointy, and their eyes weren't yellow, but they were still his people. Why he happened to have a couple quirks that seemed to apply only to him, he had no idea. Just a studly outcast, it seemed.
"Why don't you visit with those humans anymore?" he inquired, wondering what the fond look Thor seemed to have on his face was all about. Certainly it had nothing to do with him- he was remembering his friends. Did they die? That would be awkward.
He didn't know how to deal with awkward.
"You seem to like them alot, these humans," Sinestro observed, looking at the screen once more, "while I find them strange and different, marking all the ways they are not like my people, you look for the ways they are similar to you. Maybe that's why you seem so much more settled here than I am." He sighed lowly, nomming a piece of popcorn. "you're wiser than I thought... err... no offense."
