Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Today had been a slow day compared to his usual work. Especially since the world's had merged. It was strange. It seemed like even though there were more villains, the quality of villainy was still the same. Meanwhile there were more heroes as well. He had saved some people from crashes, stopped a couple bank robberies, but nothing worth noting that day. Work had been rather fast paced that day. He had finished everything he needed to do, but all they had to do was call if they needed him. Wally found himself inside the large T shaped building on an island outside of San Francisco. Go figure, the Justice League get their own satellite headquarters and the Hall of Justice and all we get is a building whose sole purpose was blocking San Francisco from any possible tsunami that might try to attack. Ah home sweet home. Wally joked to himself pleasantly as he placed his three extra cheese pizza's on the table with his KFC family bucket on top. Wally might not of done noteworthy heroics that day but he sure did run a lot. He had to run all over the world several times looking for anything to do. And running always got his appetite up. His super speed metabolism was a side effect of his super speed, though it was possible part of it was mental as well. But Wally always shrugged it off.
Being back at Titans Tower, Wally couldn't help but feel nostalgic as many memories flooded through his mind. All of the fights, arguments, pranks and teen angst that had built up in here over the years . . . it all seemed to come back to him in a flash. A wicked, wide, mischievousness grin crept onto Wally's face as his nostalgia convinced him to pull one of his old stunts. He took one of the two two litter bottles of coca-cola that came with the pizza, placed it on the counter and turned into a blur of red and yellow as he ran throughout the tower gathering the two materials he needed. He stopped in front of the fridge a mentos tied with white dental floss in his hand. He took out a scissor from the junk draw and uncapped the soda. Placing the mentos inside the bottle, but not enough to be seen or to touch the soda, he capped the soda and placed it in the fridge before returning to the table. His face returned to a normal grin as he began eating the first pizza pie at super speed with the occasional gulp from the second two litter bottle of coca-cola. Wally couldn't help but wonder where everyone else was. It was too quite for Wally's liking. Everything seemed slow when things were quite. And the world around him seemed slow enough to him without the aid.

Admittedly, Static had not been the best member of the teen titans. Actually, he wasn’t even sure if he WAS a member. He had heard about the team, and had been asked to join, but he hadn’t actually made much headway in following the whole thing through. Honestly, it wasn’t because he was some lone wolf or because he thought he was too good to be a member of the group. He was just… kind of easily distracted. Sometimes it took him time to remember that certain events had taken place. He blamed it on a high IQ and the fact that he had super powers he wanted to use almost all the time.
There was a lot on his over-active mind.
But he had finally remembered about the titans, and had decided it might be in his best interest to check in on them and see how things were doing. More than that, see if it wasn’t too late to make himself an official member of the team. After all, he was still a teen- so that meant he could still join in on the fun, right? It sounded like it would be pretty awesome, if he got to work with other heroes and have fun doing it. Heroes like Robin! Man, and then they could even team up with the older heroes for missions. Did they do that? He’d gotten to work with the likes of batman and superman before, and they had told him that he would make a good league member some day. Maybe being in with the teen titans would help them keep that in mind. Not that he wanted to use anyone for his own personal gain, he just REALLY wanted to be in the league some day. It was, like, his dream.
In the meantime, he would have to work with what was in front of him, and enjoy himself while doing it. There was no point in spending too much time focused on the future when so much of the present was still to be enjoyed. So he landed outside the tower and ventured inside carefully, his electric- based powers and highly cultivated mind making it easy for him to slip past defenses. Maybe not the best first impression, sure, but it didn’t seem like anyone was home and he was dying to check things out. Surely they wouldn’t mind if he just took a peek around, right?
Just his luck that it turned out he wasn’t alone there at all- there was another man already inside, looking quite relaxed and like he belonged there. Already one step ahead of Static, then. “Oh!” he hummed lightly, “uh, hi! I… didn’t know anyone was home! I’m Static!” He grinned, trying to hold in his nerdy glee at the sight of Wally. Of course he knew who he was, by super hero name alone, but he didn’t want to be ‘that’ guy. The one who just started gushing over seeing a hero he really liked reading about in the papers.
Even if he was totally freaking out on the inside.

Wally looked up as he heard footsteps. He had two kentucky fried chicken drum sticks. One in each hand. He wondered who the footsteps could be. Raven? Mia? Chris? It would be cool to have some company. He’d say he couldn’t eat all the food himself and join them, but the fact was he wasn’t completely sure that there was enough food for himself. He could definitely eat a lot. Either way though, Wally would share with whoever it was if they wanted food. Wally began to eat each of his drum sticks at super speed. By the time Static had walked in Wally was putting permeation on one of the pizza’s. Yet he was still somehow very relaxed, as if he belonged there.
Wally looked up to see the teenage super hero. He wondered who this teenager was. The defenses really didn’t keep out super powered people with electricity based powers so he figured it must have been the Static guy he had heard about. A moment later the teenager confirmed this himself while introducing himself. “Don’t sweat it." Wally responded regarding Static breaking in and thinking no one was home and all of that. He highly doubted that Static meant any harm. And Wally was a laid-back guy. He actually liked the mischievousness of what Static had done. It must have took some guts, skill and nerve to break into Titans Tower. All three things were great qualities in for a Titan or Teen Titan. Sure, some of the other Titans and Teen Titans would not of downplayed the break in like Wally had. They might of made it into a bigger deal than it was. But Wally wasn’t the other Titans. He was Wally.
Wally turned into a blur of red and yellow before stopping in front of Static. “Hey, I’m Young Flash.” Wally said with his usual large grin on as he held his hand out for a hand shake. “I’ve heard a lot about you.” Wally was no stranger to the super hero world. He had contacts. He knew plenty of people. He knew a couple heroes Static had helped here and there. He tended to keep a close eye on the going ons of the world, particularly when it came to heroes and villains. and especially since he came back from the other universe. He had taken a much bigger interest since the colliding of the worlds. Of course, he knew Static was from his own world. Wally looked over to the food he had brought and thought about how Static was probably hungry. That was if he had been spending his day breaking into other security systems and homes of heroes. Either way, crime fighting made heroes hungry. Or perhaps it was just Wally who got hungry from it. It wasn't too far fetched being his power burned so many calories off faster than one could imagine. He had a super speed metabolism. Which meant he had to consume more and more food due to how fast he went. "Would like some thing to eat or drink?" He offered wondering if Static would go to the fridge and fall for his coke bomb prank.

When Wally told him not to sweat it, Static let out a sigh of relief. It seemed like he had been holding his breath for an eternity. Really, he needed to stop sneaking into places when he wasn’t sure he wasn’t going to get caught. It was really too much for his young heart to take. Nerves and all that- he wasn’t really built for being a sneak. But it was all well and good- thankfully he had run into another hero who wasn’t about to rip his head off for it. If he had met one of the more serious members of the titans, things might have gone differently. He knew some of them might have considered him a threat right off the bat, and might have asked questions after pounding him into the floor.
But this was Young Flash! He was a step away from bouncing around the other he was so excited at seeing him. Eagerly, he shook the other’s hand, grinning from ear to ear. “You’ve heard about ME? That’s so awesome! And of course I’ve heard about you, too! Who hasn’t heard about Young Flash? It’s such an honor, man!” Okay, he needed to calm down. He wasn’t a nerdy fan meeting one of the people he idolized, he was a super hero meeting another super hero, being all cool and collected like that kind of thing was totally normal for him. He couldn’t let his joy get in the way of things, or he might even run the risk of blurting out his real name or doing something that would really embarrass himself.
Awkward.
When Young Flash offered him something to eat, he could have died. “Yeah! I could use a soda. Guess I’m kind of thirsty- it took a while to get here from New York. Since, you know, I can’t travel faster than the speed of light,” he laughed lightly, moving himself over to the fridge and taking a peak inside. He took a bottle of coke and opened it, little suspecting anything was going to happen other than his thirst getting quenched. When the soda promptly shot up into his face, Static let out a yelp of surprise, some loose sparks escaping him as he bounced back to avoid getting even more wet by the spraying cola. Sticky and sparking, the young hero blinked, seemingly stunned for a moment. He looked at Young Flash, soda dripping from his hair. Then, he burst into a big bout of laughter, droplets of soda bouncing everywhere in his glee.
“That was awesome!” He laughed, “hope I didn’t shock ya- couple volts got away from me there! Haha, that was so cool. Did you put a mentos in there or something?” He looked into the now mostly empty bottle, amused beyond belief despite having been the butt of a joke.
If you couldn’t laugh at yourself!

Wally noted the sigh of relief that escaped Static. It was normal to assume Static was worried that he would get in trouble. Most people would be worried after breaking into a place like Titans Tower. After all, it was one of the few places were there were a bunch of super powered teenagers and young adults gathered. And being that most teenagers had a volatile element to them that caused them to overreact to things it was not a good idea to do things that might say, get your hair singed off by a fire powered teenager. He shook Static’s hand and smiled at the teenagers enthusiastic response. He reminded him of himself a bit, when he was younger and first met Flash. That was right before he had gained his own powers. In fact, it happened the same day he met the Flash. Flash had even been there when he accidentally got his powers to begin with. Actually, it was partially the Flash’s fault he got his powers. But that did not matter.
“It’s great to meet you too,” Wally replied as he walked back to the table and ate a slice of pizza at super speed. He wondered if Static would find it weird. Most people did. At least at first. The other team members had gotten used to him eating a super speed. Wally laughed at the faster than the speed of light thing. “At least you admit it. The kryptonians are still in denial.” He joked as he sat down in a chair at the table and began to eat some more pizza. “Oh that’s right! I sometimes forget how long it takes everyone else to get places. Is that why it took you so long to come to Titans Tower?”
Wally’s eyes followed Static as he opened the refrigerator and retrieved the coca cola. This was it. The punch line. Static uncapped the two-liter bottle unleashing the coke bomb upon himself. Shocks of electricity shot from Static, but Wally easily dodged the only one that came near him. Wally wondered if Static was going to be like some of the people he had met who couldn’t take a joke. Well . . . part of him was wondering that at least. The rest of him was laughing, inside and out. It was too funny. First time the guy comes to the tower and he gets coke bombed! Priceless. Wally loved being creative with his pranks, but man . . . sometimes you just can’t beat the classics like the coke bomb. He was glad to see that Static wasn’t the no fun serious type. Sure it was fun to play pranks on them, but most of the time it resulted in getting the cold solder for extended periods of time. It was much better to share a prank.
“Mentos tied to a string. The cap kept it from falling in until you opened it.” Wally explained. “Ah the classic coke bomb. Pro, the prankee cannot stop it no matter what. It is a volcano of soda. Cons, hostile elements may backfire upon you.” He said jokingly.

“Hahaha, that’s awesome,” Static laughed, “I did the same thing to my dad once. I got grounded for a month, but it was totally worth it.” He tossed the coke bottle out, looking around at the mess in the kitchen. “I guess since you’re super speedy, you can clean up the mess, right?” He laughed lightly, “or we could leave it for Robin- I’m sure he wouldn’t mind.” Man, he couldn’t imagine what would have happened if one of the others had just experienced that. They would have been mad for sure. But Static wasn’t the kind to get mad about a little prank. After all, if he did join up with the Teen Titans, he would be the one pulling pranks on the rest of the crew, there was no if ands or butts about it. So it was good to know that there had been other members who had been just as eager to mess around and have a good time.
And he wasn’t going to get mad about that.
He moved away from the mess, though he was still dripping as he moved to get himself something to clean himself up with. He was going to need one hell of a shower. His uniform, too, was going to need a good cleaning. Things to worry about later- he was still talking to Young Flash of all people.
“Oh yeah! It wasn’t cause I got lost that it took me so long to get here… I just got a little distracted. Sometimes I get used to doing things on my own and I have a little too much fun. Plus, there was this girl I met once and she was super cute and I had to spend a little more time with her… so yeah… it took me a while to respond to the call to come here. They’re not going to hold that against me, are they? Or the fact that I broke in?” He smiled lightly, though he was still feeling that the break in had not been his brightest idea. But hey- maybe they would take into account his awesome skill and not holding it against him too much.
“So what about you? Are you still a titan, or are you part of the league now? If you don’t mind me prying a little bit.” He moved to sit down, patting his butt first to make sure that he wasn’t going to be staining the furniture on top of everything else.
Sighing, he reclined, finding himself fit for landing. It was nice to get off his feet, even if there was that feeling of being in a stranger’s house. Hopefully that would fade if he was allowed to stay a little longer.

Wally laughed. "Your dad sounds like he's not much fun." he said. Wally did feel that that was quite a harsh punishment for a coke bomb. "Then again, that does sound like something my father would have done if I did it to him." Wally shrugged at the end of the sentence. It was true. Wally's father had never been much fun. Not to mention he really didn't like the things Wally was interested in. He had always thought Wally's head was up in the clouds. Especially when it came to the Flash. It was the main reason that he had always viewed Barry as a more fatherly figure. Of course, he still loved his dad. It was his dad. He just always looked up to Barry more. Even before he knew Barry was the Flash.
"I've got it," Wally responded nonchalantly before he turned into a blur on red and yellow as he cleaned up all of the soda off the floor. It was not a big deal for Wally. After all, it was so quick it didn't even qualified as work for him. He was back sitting in his chair in a couple seconds. "Besides, if I leave it there for Robin they'll all know that I'm up to it again and they'll all be on the look out. Although, watching them all on edge waiting for me to get them with a prank is funny too. But that'll be later on." Wally said as he thought of Robin. The Robins and Batgirls were always the hardest to prank. Thanks to Batman's detective training and all. By far the hardest to get was the new Robin. He was a better detective than the other Robins. At least in Wally's opinion he was. But Wally felt Dick was a better fighter. Either way, they all had their pros and cons. But he liked them all. It was fun trying to prank them. It was a challenge. Part of him thought that they felt the same way about anticipating him and his pranks.
"Eh, it happens to the best of us. They won't hold it against ya." Wally said. Then he began to think for a moment. "Well . . . Speedy might. She's kind of stubborn when it comes to that stuff. Sometimes at least. But she won't hold it against you for long I suppose." Wally explained. "So what's this girl like," Wally inquired? He had always been a bit of a ladies man. He had always been good with them. He liked playful flirting or banter with female teammates, even if he wasn't actually meaning to try and really get with them. Though, lately he had been doing it less. He had to change that soon.
"Nah, I'm not part of the League. They've already got Flash so, y'know. Too many cooks in the kitchen. I feel like my skills are better suited here with the Titans. So yeah, I'm a Titan." Wally said. "It's actually kind of weird sometimes. I'm the only founding member of the original Teen Titans who's still a Titan." Wally said reminiscing some old memories of the first incarnation of the Teen Titans. So far he had been in each main branch incarnation of the Teen Titans. Wally was glad to have company. It was always nice to have other people around. Getting to know Static was going to be fun.

Static took a moment to reflect back on the meeting he’d had with the strange girl. “Well, she was kind of pale and had white hair. She was really sad-looking a lot of the time and she was what the other dimension calls a ‘mutant’. I guess she was born with her powers or something. We were kind of in the middle of a fight at the time, so it was kind of hard to figure out what side she was on and stuff like that.” He smiled faintly to himself. She hadn’t seemed like a good guy, if he was honest. She was probably more likely to kill people and run away after than anything else. Still, he wasn’t the type to hate someone right from the get-go, and whatever had happened to her to make her that kind of person had to have been rough. He always found it more his mission to help people who seemed to be suffering than punish them without checking into things first. So he knew he would have to try and figure her out a little bit more later. “She was kind of pretty,” he added with a grin, “if you like that sad snow princess kind of look.” He rubbed the back of his neck. When it came to girls, he was much better at dealing with them as Static than Virgil. Being a super hero gave him a confident edge. In his civilian clothes… he was just kind of a nerd who fumbled through sentences with absolutely no charm.
Oh well.
Young Flash said he wasn’t with the league, and Static still found himself completely thrilled. “You mean I get to work with you? Awesome! And I get what you mean. I guess I’m always worried about another electricity-based hero coming up and making me kind of redundant. So far, though, I think it’s looking pretty good for me!” He hadn’t seen anyone who had his powers. Still, even if there were more than one Flash in the league, he imagined it would have been useful for them. One Flash was awesome, so two? Two would have just been totally bad ass. Still, he understood the reasoning and he imagined it was just as good to have an experienced member helping out with the Titans. He would be able to make sure they didn’t start spending too much time in the ‘teen’ part and not enough time in the ‘titan’.
“Man, it must be awesome having you around,” Static hummed, “I mean, you have a ton of experience, right? I’ve only been at this super hero thing for a couple of years- I’m not really a seasoned pro just yet. Still, Batman said I have a lot of potential and I’m going to work as hard as I can to prove him right!” He smiled. It made him a bit nervous that some of the titans might be mad at him for not checking in with the tower sooner, but he couldn’t let it get him down. All he needed to focus on was making up for his tardiness by being a complete boss on the field. If they saw his style, maybe they would be able to over-look his blunder.

Wally thought about that for a moment. He had been skeptical of the new universe. After all, there were infinite universes. He remembered the Titans of Tomorrow. He remembered the Universe he had been stuck in. He remembered the stories of earth three and the evil versions of the Superheroes. Superwoman. Ultraman. Owlman. For all he knew the new universes inhabitants could be evil. He hoped they wouldn’t be. He really, really hoped they wouldn’t be. They already had so many villains. And if they had any ice villains he would have to rapidly hit his head against something. There were far too many ice villains. Captain Cold. Mister Freeze. Icicle II. He could go on and on. Of course, he himself had not fought them all, but still there were just too many of them. “I’ll be honest . . . I’ve been a bit skeptical of the other universe. I mean, they’d all probably say the same thing. But they could be evil like the ones on Earth thee. Or from the alternate future we visited a long while back. And that mutant thing you said before. I’ve heard some pretty awful things. Like people with super powers being shunned by society and being forced to live under New York City in the sewers. And that some of the people want some kind of ‘mutant registration act’ or something. I’ve heard they treat people with powers a lot harsher. But I don’t get that because they have a lot of stuff about these Avengers. They’ve even got a diner or something where heroes get food half off.” Wally shrugged. He really didn’t know what to think about the whole thing. This new universe was confusing him.
“Yeah, besides I wouldn’t want the Titans to have to rely on kryptonian super speed,” Wally joked. It was true that his speed outmatched that of a kryptonian. He had even nicknamed one of the new members, Supergirl, Light speed. For the double meaning that she can run at light speed, but it was light weight compared to his own. Ah cleverness. Wally loved it. Well, perhaps it wasn’t too clever though. He had created better nicknames. He guessed Lightspeed was probably on his b-list of nicknames. “Well, if Bats said that then you must be good. He’s not exactly one to go around handing out complements to just anyone.” Wally said a bit impressed. If Batman though Static had potential then he was probably right. In all the time he had known Batman he hadn’t been wrong that many times. Then again, he wasn’t exactly close with Bats. It wasn’t like he spent a ton of time with Gotham’s caped crusader. He had worked with him here and there and he and Robin, well Nightwing now, had been really, really close during their days as Teen Titans together. So he had spent plenty of time with him over the years. It was true that Wally was a seasoned veteran when it came to being a hero. He had been a founding member of all of the major branches of the Teen Titans. He had been Flash’s sidekick. He’s been in the hero game for sixteen years. Since he was ten. Of course, in this dimension and time he had only been a hero for eleven years, but even that was longer than some of the Justice League members.

Static hadn’t really considered things from that perspective before- he hadn’t thought that they couldn’t be trusted. Sure, he knew some were bound to be bad guys and want to take over the world no matter how weirdly merged it was, but he had naturally assumed that there were also heroes who could be trusted and worked with to stop all the new bad guys. He had assumed both sides would get a bit of a boost, not that it would be a mostly evil dimension where it would be difficult to tell who was good and who was really evil. Maybe it just wasn’t in him to think that everything was going to go to hell and he needed to be separate and skeptic of everyone. That was more of a Batman thing. No, he was way more inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt. He had done it more than once when working with the bang babies, and not every one of them had ended up being a cold-hearted criminal. If he could help them turn from a life of crime, couldn’t he help people from another dimension too, if they were all naughty buggers? Either way, he wasn’t going to leap to any conclusions. He liked the idea of things being better and cooler than before, rather than worse.
He didn’t like hearing that mutants had a hard time, though he suspected it wasn’t completely out of the ordinary for people to do that when they didn’t understand what was going on. “That sucks,” he said lowly, “I always had to hide my powers because I didn’t want people thinking I was another bang baby looking to cause trouble. No one with powers could be trusted in my town, either, and they were all shunned as well. So that’s why I decided to go the secret identity road. Keeps my friends and family safe, as well as me.” He frowned, also a bit confused when he mentioned the heroes thing. “Well, could be like with the bang babies,” he ventured after a thoughtful moment. “In my town, they would hate on anyone with a special power, but when I started wearing the mask and working for good, everyone totally loved me. Maybe people in that dimension don’t trust mutants cause the name relates to bad news, like bang babies. But people who aren’t called mutants are fine with them, cause they aren’t connected to all that bad stuff. I don’t know. People can be really weird when it comes to things they don’t understand. They like clear lines in the sand between good and bad. If people look a little bit in between, they would rather bash them then give them the benefit of the doubt.” Another reason he wasn’t going to snub the new world- he didn’t want to be like everyone else. He knew the humans of both dimensions were probably up in arms around what had happened, and didn’t trust a single soul from the ‘new place’, whichever side of the fence that happened to be on.
“A diner sounds pretty sweet, though. Hope they give teen hero discounts.” He grinned, before listening to him chat some more. All the talk about heroes and dimensions and good made him want to get out into the field and start working as an official Teen Titan right away. “So what’s the sign up process like? Is there a hazing period like with frat houses or something?” He asked lightly, though he was just a little bit nervous about it.
He had always been good at tests, but that didn’t make them easy to take.

Wally understood perfectly what Static was saying and he knew about the bang baby stuff he was talking about as well. Everyone had to hide their powers. Not from loved ones so much as from society. Because then people could hurt the ones closest to you to get to you. Not to mention a billion other things. It was pretty complicated in some areas. “Even without the whole bang baby thing though . . . you’d still of had to hide your powers. I mean . . . we’re vigilantes. Even if we’re heroes. Which means that the cops would have to take us in if they knew who we were. And let’s not forget if any villains found out they could hurt those close to you to get to you if they knew your civilian identity. Wally said. It was how he viewed it. He was usually more optimistic than that. But he was being truthful right now. He was thinking it through.
“Not to mention some people, well, they just wouldn’t understand no matter what. I hope for a day when we can live with non-powered people in harmony. But as it is right now . . . being completely open about having powers is, well, sort of like hanging a kick me sign on your back. People fear what they don’t understand. From fear comes anger.” Wally rubbed his neck a bit. This wasn’t usually like him. “Sorry, I’m usually more optimistic than this.”
“Personally, I say give the new universe the benefit of the doubt. But keep a close on them. They haven’t done anything yet, but they might. But we can’t punish anyone for something they might or might not do. We can’t scrutinize what has not happened yet.” Plus, honestly, they’re gonna be bad guys from the new universe, just like there are in ours. Which means that both of our universe, well, I guess it’s one universe now, is gonna need all the help it can get from one another. Especially if all of the villains team up or something.”
“They better. It’d be a disservice,” Wally joked a bit. Wally thought about maybe playing with Static’s head a bit. Sure, there was no sign up process or anything of the like. No hazing. Well, Wally couldn’t promise that there wouldn’t be anything similar to hazing. There were definitely going to be pranks and the like pulled on Static. But that wasn’t about him being new. Hell, the only returning members to the team so far were Mia, himself and Raven. Everyone else was new to the team. “If I told you it would take half the fun away,” Wally said.

"Yeah, you're right," Static agreed, "even if I didn't have the other guys to worry about ruining my image, I probably still would have picked to hide my identity. Just makes things a heck of a lot simpler, right? But I don't really mind- makes me feel like a proper hero having a normal life and a separate hero life. Maybe it's better that way, anyway, so you don't get too lost in one over the other, you know?" He chuckled lightly. Of course he couldn't deny that it was just cool to think that he had a secret identity- it made him feel more like a classic hero. The kind he had always wanted to be, even long before he'd had powers. Back when he had just been Virgil, the nerdy weird kid who was small and easy to shove into lockers. How he had always longed to be something amazing while drying off his hair after a swirly. So he couldn't complain too much about his situation- he imagined it was still more awesome than it was upsetting. Sure, humans probably wouldn't open their arms to meta-humans anytime soon, but that was okay. He was the kind of person who was perfectly happy waiting for someone to open up to him. Or someones. If it took years, he would never stop hoping for the kind of thing Wally was talking about- a day where normal humans and heroes could live with on another and not feel jealousy or fear. For that, though, they were going to have to take out all the people who made their powers something to be afraid of, and that seemed like a hefty task. For every one man using their powers for good, their seemed to be five guys using their powers for evil.
It was a long road ahead of them, that was for sure.
"Nah, you don't have to be sorry, I get what you're saying, and you're right," Static said with a nod of his head, crossing his arms over his chest, "It's probably good to be careful, and I'm sure the normal dudes would like it, too. I would love to just have a normal life with my super powers, but for now, this is pretty cool, too." he chuckled lightly, just content with his position. It took a hell of a lot to make him feel like there wasn't light at the end of the tunnel. Actually, he wasn't so sure he had ever felt truly hopeless.
Wally wasn't willing to tell him anything about the application process, but that only made him more excited. It filled him with the desire to find out what it was going to be like working with the other heroes. Test or not, he was ready to just get through it so he could be one of the fold. Laughing, he moved his hands from his chest to behind his head, stretching his midsection as he grinned from ear to ear.
"I can't wait to meet the others! I know the Robins tend to be a bit on the gloomy side, but there's other members too, right? I bet it's fun working with all those different personalities and powers."

Wally listened to Static. It was funny. He kind of reminded him of himself when he had first became Kid Flash. He had been such a nerdy kid who had a huge devotion to the Flash. He was his biggest fan. In fact he was the president, founding member and only member of the Blue Valley Flash Fan Club. He had also been kind of psyched about having a secret identity. He still was. He was also a hero worshiper. He could remember all the first time's he met the big heroes like Green Lantern Hal Jordan, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. "Totally. Besides, secret identities are cool. Exhibit A." He joked while he waved a hand over himself. He could think of other reasons as to why one couldn't have a public identity, though he had gotten his point across.
Wally thought about what it would be like in a world where they could all live side by side in harmony. A day when they wouldn't have to hide themselves, but rather make a choice whether or not to. Personally Wally would never give up his secret identity even in a perfect world. There would always be people discontent with how things were. There would always be some who feared them. There would always be those who were just plain crazy. There would be those that blamed him for certain things that happened like certain deaths that occurred. It was better, at least in his opinion, to keep his personal life and superhero life separate. Just like it was better to separate church and state or his business life and personal life.
"It's really fun. And the Teen Titans are more than just a team. We're all like family. Albeit a giant Tyler Perry movie sized family, but a family none the less. And ya shouldn't stereotype the Bat-family like that either, you'd be surprised. The first Robin a.k.a. Nightwing is one of my oldest friends and he's far from gloomy. It's weird how different he and Bats are. Bat's is all gloomy and depressing and brooding, but Nightwing can be a lot of fun. Or at least he was when he wasn't sucking face with Starfire." It was partially a joke, though Dick and Star sure did seem to make-out a lot. Or at least that's how he remembered it. Man. It had been so long since he had seem Star or Dick. He hadn't read or seen much of Star in the paper or on the news. He had read some stuff Nightwing being back in Gotham. That was a surprise. He couldn't see how on Earth Bludhaven could've been better off without Nightwing. It was Gotham's sister city and it was just as polluted with crime and criminal scum as Gotham was. "But, yeah, all the different people and personalities are fun to be around. I'm sure you'll fit in fine."

"Great!" Laughed Static, "I don't mind being wrong about the bat family. It's nice to hear that they don't all like to brood. I've worked with Batman before. He can be a pretty cool guy, if you look past the brooding thing. He's got a lot more going on. But I guess everyone does. I'm not all puppies and rainbows all the time, either." Of course he wasn't. It would be a very sad thing if he lived in a happy little world and didn't acknowledge that things took a turn for the worse more often than not. It felt like he was going have to think about all of this at some point. They had had more conversation than he had been expecting, and things had taken some deep roads.
Ah well, it felt like he was going to be alright. the conversation had shed some light on his views about a lot of things. Things he hadn't considered before. Like life as a superhero in general. He was happy that Nightwing seemed to have a lot going for him.
It was a little comforting, thinking that maybe heroes could have really good lives, too. A girlfriend sounds particularly great. "Starfire? I don't think I would be doing anything different if I had her as a girlfriend," he laughed merrily. Indeed not- he would be sucking face with her as often as he could. She was one fine looking female, and he loved whenever she was in the paper. Did that make him creepy? Eh. He was a teenager and she was a totally fine woman. There was nothing creepy around it. Just nature.
He stretched his arms and looked around the base once more, still tickled with the thought that the whole place would be his to use as well. They would all be sharing such an awesome base. It was way better than his place, that was for sure. a small, hidden room crammed full of scientific machines and equipment. Hardly a proper bat cave, if he had to be honest. If he could move some of his experiments to the titan tower, who knows what he would be able to accomplish. It felt like he would be able to take on a new level of experiments. It would also grant him more options when considering his own powers. If there was one thing he knew, his powers were expanding. It would become very hard for them to be monitored properly with his current set up.
So this was great in more ways than one.
"Since I snuck in anyway, do you think you could show me around a little?" He asked lightly, hoping that it wasn't too much of a favor to ask when he was still not officially a member. He was pretty sure they both knew that he was going to do whatever he could to be a part of the team, even if it meant taking down a big bad all on his own. So it was fine to consider him a member to be, right?

Wally nodded his head yes. He liked this kid. He wasn't all defensive about being right like some people he had met. And he knew how to take a joke. Not to mention he was gutsy sneaking in and he knew how to just relax. "Yep. Bats is a pretty standup guy once you look past all the brooding and manic depressive behavior. Don't ever let someone tell you he's a crazed loner." Wally joked. He agreed with the teenager. But he saw his opening for a joke and seized it.
Wally smiled and let out a chuckle. "I suppose you're right. She is beautiful. it just got a bit annoying sometimes. Like when you're walking down the hallway in school there's always that one happy couple who think they're oh so cute and want everyone to know it so they suck face at their shared locker until the point that you can't tell where one of them starts and one them ends. Ah young love. Too bad it didn't work out between them."
"Y'know, people give the tanning mom a lot of bad talk but I think she was just admiring Star and wanted to copy her specific orangey tinge." Wally shrugged his shoulders at Statics request. "Sure," Wally said as he stood up and stretched for a moment before he began casually walking down the hallway where the bedrooms were, though the doors were closed. There were plenty and the more barren guest rooms were open. "These are some of the bedrooms and guest rooms there are plenty more around. This one is my old room I still use from time to time when I stay over night occasionally."
Wally opened the door to reveal his room. It wasn't anything special. A television with a stack of movies, a large radio/cd player and a few other things here and there. "My doors always open if you need anything." Wally kept walking leaving his door open. Wally thought for a moment as to what to show Static next. Then he got an idea. Wally walked over to an elevator and took out a key card which opened the elevator door. Wally walked in and pressed the button for the floor he wanted to go to. "I think you'll get a kick out of this next one."
