ANNA MARIE ROGUE
Of all the places to be Washington D.C. was her least favorite of them all. Many of the politicians were the ones she detested, the ones opposed to mutants. What people didn't know caused fear and even Rogue found herself struggling with what she was. Even this far down the road. Her powers manifested at puberty when her first kiss was ruined. Her kisses were deadly, literally. If the mutant held on for too long it was potentially dangerous for those not of the super powered variety. Everyone was a potential coma victim, destined to spend their life within the confines of a bed as the world continued around them. This was what she had to offer people, anyone who wished to become close.
Only her foster mother, Mystique, knew of the exile she faced. There were other mutants in the world as well but Anna Marie was separated from that part of life. She was afraid to let others close so she kept to herself, kept to her family. Though ever since she absorbed the powers of Ms Marvel, Anna found that distance was growing between herself and the Brotherhood. There were nights in which the young woman would disappear into the darkest sky as she fought for her sanity. The psyche of the superwoman was far stronger than her own mess of insecurities. She was angry at the life Rogue had taken away from the blonde and while she enjoyed her new found powers, she disliked the figure in her brain. Enough so that she regretted what she did that night. Rogue had simply held on for too long.
There had been run-ins with the X-Men, the Avengers were next on the list. That was why she was in Washington D.C. after all. Polaris and Scarlett Witch were people of interest though she wasn't too sure why. Mystique had simply told her go to the capital and break into a SHIELD database further. The day Mystique had gained access to the hellicarrier was the day the attacks occurred all over the world. The shapeshifter wasn't able to complete her task though Rogue was told of the chaos that ensued. The vampire on board going crazy and trying to eat all of his co-workers. The image was what she found funny, not all the lives lost and in such a gruesome manner. It was events like those that made her question what she was doing with the Brotherhood in the first place.
Rogue had gained access to the building after touching one of the employees that had exited. She absorbed the memories such as the codes to the networks and any other sequence she'd need to gain access to the folders. It had taken about ten minutes in all, the night fall aided in the event altogether. It was quite apparent SHIELD had plenty of new faces that came through the building, Mystique wouldn't have sent her to high risk situation when she was the person able to take another's form. There wasn't much on the woman from what Rogue could find though she printed the documents off anyways and placed them in a black briefcase. She exited the room and walked down the halls and out of the building. Rogue glanced around and went back to the side of the building where she had placed the woman she absorbed but found she wasn't there. Her brows knitted together as her hands came to her hips.
"Now where did I put you?" She questioned to herself aloud.

It had been about two or three years back, at the beginning of the conflict with Stryker. A blue-skinned mutant had fought his way into the White House and nearly assassinated the President. It was times like those that made the Humans so opposed to the Homo Superior genome, Alex thought bitterly, running his hand over the white marble of one of the obscure monuments that also served as a SHIELD base in Washington, DC. He had been invited as a top biology scholar to this little tour and gathering, where at the end they were to investigate a strange genetic anomaly in a lab. Luckily it was no mutant, just a four-headed, four-tailed tortoise. The Professor had warned him when the brochure has said "Genetic Anomaly" and made Alex promise to rescue the testee if it was a human. And so he had asked the tour guide the moment they had approached the underground lab stations. Alex was glad that there was no need to worry and no one to protect except a turtle that had no soul or want for itself except food, water, and the survival of the species. As they approached the end of the marble and the start of the steel entry doors, Alex was just quick enough to witness the silent takedown of a guard by what appeared to be a young brunette woman. Narrowing his eyes a bit, with one hand Havok patted his stomach lightly, where his thin lens helped him control where his energy rings and blasts went. With his other, he pulled the strap of his gray backpack closer on his shoulder. There was definitely something fishy going on here; if Alex had the chance, he would slip away from the others and investigate. He saw his chance about ten seconds later, when the rest of the tour takers started to applaud at something the lecturer said. Being careful not to make a sound, Alex turned off the beaten path and went to where he had seen the young woman. There was the guard, laying on the ground, pale as a ghost, in a coma but with no outward signs of injury. That had to be a mutant then, who had just come around this way. Oh no, if something was to happen today that took someone's life, and Alex didn't stop it, he would never forgive himself. Looking up and glancing around, Alex spotted a half-ajar door. Creeping up to it, he poked his head in and looked around before stepping on the corrugated metal floor and quietly starting inside. Several password-protected doors blocked the way, but it was easy to either break down the door with his energy rings or hack the doors also with energy in concentrated lasers. It was hard to keep the silence here. Every sound one made echoed loudly. Whoever was here, seemed to have walked into a bonafide storage facility. What did they want? Who were they? He nearly reached the end, and Rogue was standing in he middle of a large clearing, obviously looking for something. Breathless, Havok hit the wall, started to breathe more deeply and tried not to mess with his fingers, or else he was going to be discovered. He would go and confront her, but he didn't know her powers or her strength. Also, something in his mind told him not yet.
