Darkhawk brought up the merging of universes, which James had more or less forgotten about. As much money as he had, he couldn't find anyone that could explain the situation outside of just that- that his and another universe had merged. He supposed that if he really wanted to, he could bribe someone from SHIELD or somesuch, but he obeyed the law and refused to do so.
"I'm also from the universe with the Avengers, too! I have to admit, though, I don't know much about it. It hasn't really affected me in particular..." It took a moment, but James recalled that this was his land, and these two were guests on it. Well, technically trespassers, but he decide to overlook that. "Oh, hey, either of you hungry or thirsty... or eat normal food, anyway? I've got some tea and pastries over in my Jeep, if you want," he offered.
If one of them accepted his offer, he'd bring them to his Jeep and pour either chai tea or coffee from a thermos into one of the earthenware mugs in the back and give them the choice of a rather large platter of pastries.
He wasn't sure how long the shower would be, so he was sure to come prepared. Not only that, but he wanted to cheat a bit on his diet- not that he was unfit, but he wanted to make sure to eat right even if he could eat anything he wanted to. As with anyone, of course, he sometimes desired something with more calories or fat than he'd normally allow- vis a vis, the pastries.

"Alright. Let's assume that I know what an Avenger is, and who the Justice League are." Peter didn't exactly drop the hint subtly. He'd been completely cut off from Earth for almost a decade. Whatever the Avengers were, he had no idea. "And people are experiencing memories of lives lived in two universes? Now that is interesting." It hadn't just been happening on Earth. New planets had seemingly sprung into existence overnight. More aliens as well, and not all of them had respect for the Star Lord. Or had even heard of one. And he could tell that there were multiple peacekeeping corps, because of the people in strange new uniforms.
At the mention of tea and pastries, his face brightened up like a child's. "Oh, man. I would kill for some genuine Earth food right now!" Of all the things he missed about Earth, food was on his priority list. The food in space was unorthodox, but nice. "You can only eat so much Chandilar fast food or Kree rations." He said he had pastries. What sort of pastries? Were they good? Peter wasn't going to be picky. If it came from Earth, it was good enough for him.
