Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

[atrb=border,0,true] Spider-Woman [style=width:450; height:300; padding:25; text-align:justify; font-family:verdana; font-size:10px; color:white; overflow:auto] Jessica couldn't help but be a little nosy. She wanted to figure out more about who she was going to be working for and what she was going to be expected to do. She walked into S.W.O.R.D. without asking any questions and nearly died the first time. So could you really blame her for being a little more aware this time? So now, she might be snooping around in the office of Nick Fury. She'd managed to fry the machine enough to get access without destroying everything. She kept glancing up though, worried she'd get caught despite her precautions.
Then she heard it, footsteps. She set everything back to how it was and quickly tried to figure out her escape but the side door wasn't opening. The steps were coming from the main door. She climbed onto the wall. In passing a side table she snatched up a rubber band, throwing her long hair into a rough bun to keep it from hanging down into view. Now Jessica Drew, the Spider-Woman, hung upside down on the ceiling watching the door from her shadows. Just had to stay up here until whoever came in left... could be a long night... Her green eyes watched the door. Her pale arms were visible under her pale orange t-shirt and jeans.
This waiting game was beginning to wear on her. When was this freaking person going to get in here where she could try to sneak out. She crept over toward the door, rolling her eyes as she heard footsteps going by, "Bloody hell... come on." She murmured under her breath. She rested there still, waiting on the door to open. She took in a short sharp breath when the door finally pushed open. Was someone playing a little game with her? Knowing that she was in there, maybe even what she was doing?
Creepy. |

Since the attack a year ago on New York, it caused a change in the way the world worked, secretively. Those who called themselves the Avengers: Captain America, Hawkeye, The Hulk, Black Widow, Iron Man, and Thor, were no longer alone. The numbers have expanded, select males and females were brought in under the Avengers name which ultimately connected them to SHIELD. They were amazing, they were superhuman, they were unique. Each one brought a different element to the fight, something different to the table. Spiderwoman and Wolverine were the two 'newest' to the fold. They weren't there when Fury lied to the founding members so their hesitations weren't at the highest in the ways it was with the others. Stark in particular had been deeply betrayed as he was the one who had a bit more to his relationship with agent Phil Coulson.
Jessica Drew was an interesting woman. She had been brainwashed by Viper into believing that the HYDRA agent was her biological mother. Lies and darkness surrounded Spiderwoman but she was chosen by Fury, himself. Despite his history that honestly made him no better than Deadpool, Fury wanted soldiers that fought for good. It didn't mean that the Director of SHIELD wasn't fighting for the light, he had done his far share of killing for money, a hired head. He wouldn't be where he was presently if his past wasn't full of question and experience needed to be the top spy in all the world.
Nick was currently on the move from the bathroom, having washed his hands and all. Foot steps fell on the steel underneath his feet as he was headed back to his own space on the Hellicarrier. It was an area that was off limits to everyone, even Maria Hill. He liked his space, his personal bubble. It was his area away from them all so that he may do what he did privately. He walked past a room in which a male and female employee of SHIELD were standing casually, talking and smiling at one another. He stopped and took a step backwards to peer inside of the entrance. Fury cleared his throat as his head bowed and eyebrow raised. His expression was clearly one of what the fuck are you doing standing there. They looked to the floor as their faces turned bright red and began their normal routines. He sneered slightly as he resumed walking to his room, head shaking as he did so.
He opened the door and stepped inside. His eye scanned the room as the doors slid shut behind him. He furrowed a brow as he walked towards his desk. "Find what you were looking for?" Fury questioned. Everything seemed to be in perfect condition, nothing was out of place. Well, not quite nothing. His hair was facing left, the armrest lined up with a paper weight on his desk. It was currently lined up with the pen that was right next to the other object. It would have been nothing to anyone else but being Nick Fury the man always left traps of some sort. He pulled his seat out and sat upon the cushion, eyes traveled up to Jessica. His brow raised, his expression was not quite too keen on having the invading Avenger.

[atrb=border,0,true] Spider-Woman [style=width:450; height:300; padding:25; text-align:justify; font-family:verdana; font-size:10px; color:white; overflow:auto] Jessica sighed, she’d been caught. Red handed too. She dropped down smoothly onto her feet, looking over at Nick as he stood there, watching. She offered a sort of shy half smile to the director, her new boss. Moving forward a little bit she rubbed the back of her neck trying to explain herself. Just be honest was what she decided on. ”Yeah, I certainly did.” Jessica murmured, moving over to sit down in a seat in front of Nick. He knew she hadn’t really worked with a team before, maybe that was why he didn’t seem too surprised to see her there. Instead he just seemed pissed, also a valid emotion to be having right now.
”Can’t blame a girl for being a little curious about what she’s walking into. I’ve learned to ask questions.” She admitted with a half shrug. Jessica had a lot of questions as to why she was here. What kind of insane person puts faith in an ex H.Y.D.R.A agent, turned S.W.O.R.D agent; Skrull hunter and created mutant. Her biggest power wasn’t even that useful in a team situation, so why her and why now? Had it been her good looks or her scintillating charm? Maybe, but Nick Fury didn’t seem like the kind of guy to put very much stock in those qualities. Not saying she didn’t think he enjoyed an attractive woman, but more along the lines of it not being a job requirement. ”Why am I here? I’m not looking for some deep answer about why are any of us here, or something. Me, specifically, why am I on this team?” Her voice was strong, independent and clear. She wasn’t in the mood to beat around the bush much. Not right now at least and something told her Nick wasn’t the type of guy who liked to play games.
Jessica had been having a hard time separating what might be truth from what was a lie. Her memories were tarnished and ruined. She had never been permitted to be a child, to enjoy simple things like birthdays and silly little tea parties. No, she had memories she once thought were like that, but now had realized that it was abuse. Incredible amounts of abuse in the worst ways possible. All she had known was pain and she had come out broken, though she didn’t show it. She stowed those feelings away and chose not to indulge in them often, and only in private. She looked up to Fury though and there was a sincerity In her eyes, a concern of being used again. |
