Much Has Changed With The World [X-Men, Mutants]

Events had weighed heavily upon the man's shoulders, the warning of something catastrophic had hit him hard before the events had occurred. Was it the weight of the world or was it that sense that spoke of terrors to come? Charles had always been able to read the minds of others but the day that a rift came between the two worlds caused the screams and worries to hit him tenfold. For some the coming of the worlds had been a marvelous thing but for others, such as he, he felt that nothing would be the same ever again.

Xavier knew of SHIELD, the Avengers had come across them time and time before. One of their own had been deemed fit to join the group though Charles knew what horrors the Director had a hand in. The mutant was beside himself at the moment. The new world offered more heroes but versely more villains. Villains that had a means to destroy the world, destroy that which they knew nothing about. The mutants were a new race once more and the people were expected to accept them? In their own world, Charles had seen the hardships they'd endured to not be hunted, to not be deemed as freaks of nature. Truth be told it was an issue the mutant race currently battled against.

The Brotherhood was led by Magneto, once a friend to the man within the wheelchair. Eric had saw fit to force the 'superior' species as apart of life, to be deemed better than the humans. Some of them saw them as equals while others condemned them as monsters, as freaks. It had been something Charles had worked to fix since the days he was able to walk. The day the bullet hit his vertebrae which rendered him paralyzed from the waist down was the day in which everything changed. To look upon his past and see how he acted was quite different than how he was presented in current. Charles went on to begin the X-Men, once a thought but now reality. His pensive stare remained fixed upon the window as he thought of how far they had come. He thought of what they should do presently which was why he called upon a meeting of the mutants, the ones present within the academy. There was much to discuss in so little time. Already the other world had called upon them, the X-Men. Charles knew that they could help write history, to band together to force back the evil within the world.

That's what Alexander Summers felt like when he thought of his role in the calamities that his former team had endured in the last ten or so years. He should have been with them, he thought often, using his energy bands in defense of mutant freedom and human safety. He shouldn't have ever left. He hadn't realized it when he first had decided to step down to be with the Children more, but he was giving up his active self, his chance to further hone his power, and a chance to be with his brother more. His choice was one that had its perks though too. He had tried his best to be an inspiration to everyone he had worked with; and for the most part his little tutoring group had been successful. He had poured his whole heart into those kids, and gotten it back fifteenfold. That, he didn't regret. Yet something inside told him that he could have missed out on some of the best times of his life. It warned him that he shouldn't make any more rash decisions and stick with his team from now on. The team he had asked permission to rejoin just a few weeks ago. That was why he was here, approaching The place Xavier had requested that all faculty and mature personnel in the school report to. Considering the things that had happened in the outside world lately, and the magnitude of them all, Alex knew that this meeting was a long-overdue one. The Mutants had been lucky enough to have been sheltered from the brunt of it, but people like the Avengers... Alex had heard, were taking beatings left and right. There were even rumors of a plot to take the government agency over. With a quick, light knock, Alex announced his presence to anyone already in the room, and slowly pushed the door open. The only figure that resided within appeared to Xavier himself. A smile came to the younger Summers brother's face. "Hello, Professor." He spoke softly at first, not to startle his friend. "I'm here, though I do find it odd that i'm the first." Checking his watch, He confirmed that it was five til, like he had thought. Usually Scott would be here by now, if not the others. Kitty, Jean... Where were they? He hoped that none of them were in danger. Except for Logan, everyone had stayed in the mansion, as far as Havok knew. Hopefully there was nothing here that would put them in mortal jeopardy. If the enemy had entered the compound- No. That couldn't be. Alex shook his head and took a seat in a nearby chair. [Priscilla "Chimera" Donovan]

The Gargoyle had been a staff member of Xavier's for awhile by this point, six months at least. The 28 year old, going on 29, had seen and done some shady things, but the heart she had, and the love for kids didn't change. She loved teaching children about music, she especially loved that they knew they could trust her simply based on her appearance. Mutant children from all over the world that Xavier had brought to the school. Kids that had been persecuted, shamed, shunned. Much like she was growing up, Priss spent the first twenty years of her life being an outcast, a freak, a monster not to be trusted or loved. Then she started using her talents, her powers and her appearance to her advantage. Her mutant power to create the most fantastic vivid sound a person could ever hear set her in a unique position against the music industry and she took full advantage, 8 years later, she's a living legend in the music industry with almost as much fame as the likes of Lady Gaga, and a great deal more controversy. Her unique anatomy and surly disposition spawned so many rumors, her fantastic music career quickly devolved into nothing but controversy and scandal. Is she a girl, is she a boy, is she a monster, is she an angel, is she a demon, is her music really legitimate despite being spawned from her mutant power. She fell into a hole of drug abuse and sex that many rock stars do, the world crushing in on her. Then one day, she vanished. No one saw or heard from her any where for two years, now she's a rumor. Tabloids squawk at "Priss appearances!" and her albums continue to sell, where does the money go?

Most people don't know Priss teaches at Xavier's. Many new students are surprised and awed to find her there, as Priss may not be a rock god legend like Elton John or Michael Jackson, but as sure as the sun will rise there are few mutants in the world who have not heard of the one who rose to fame despite her appearance. To them, she represents so much more, despite all the tragedy and pain she endured at the end of her fantastic musical career.

Now she is weathered, humble, gentle when she likes, harsh when she needs to be. She is open minded, free loving and accepting, slow to judge, quick to offer help. She isn't like the other teachers on campus. She's what you might call "a bit odd" She curses, dresses like a grunge rock star might be expected too. She's constantly late to her own classes and rarely follows her own syllabi, but when she teaches, it is a thing of magic. She isn't even that good at teaching, but her passion for music transcends that barrier, as well as the others.

She teaches music theory, choir, and band at all levels. If you can hold a musical instrument, you can learn it, if you can speak, you can sing and if you can write, you can create music. That is Priss' motto and she encourages every student on campus to attend her classes, which are few. She teaches three days a week at the Mansion, and where she spends the rest of her time is apparently her own business. She has a lavish condo in New York and being that she can fly several hundred miles an hour, traveling between the two is no problem at all.

She was actually at her Condo when she got the call from Xavier, which she answered immediately. She is fiercely devoted to Xavier and everything he stands for, if Xavier were to say jump, she would simply fly. Priss does not consider herself an 'X-Man' but if she is needed on their missions for her specific talents, then she will go without hesitance. Being strong enough to tear a car apart and tough enough to take a bullet with no more than a bruise to show for it also comes in handy.

She walks into the room, her claws gently tapping the floor as she goes. They're covered in metallic claw covers, as are the claws on Priss' hands. her tail swings behind her and her wings are tucked at her back. She's wearing short leather shorts that wrap just a few inches down her thigh and just a few inches up her hips, her waist is completely exposed. She's wearing a spaghetti strap tank top which does very little to conceal the cleavage of her magnificent blue breasts. Over her shoulders is a leather jacket with chains and spikes that's left hung open. All of her clothing is modified so suit her unique anatomy, her wings, her tail. Her legs from about mid thigh down to her ankles is wrapped in fishnet stocking, as well as her arms, from her fingertips all the way up to her bicep, though much of that is hidden under the sleeves of her heavy leather jacket. Her entire body is amazonian in its muscle tone and feminine curvature. She is tall, standing at just over six feet and 8 inches. The claw covers are chrome plated steel covers which clip onto surgically implanted nubs embedded in her claws, they keep her from shredding everything she touches and give a very unique appearance to her hands, which contain only 3 fingers and a thumb each. Her feet are feral too, heels raised up off the ground, knees eternally bent, feet and toes large and long, only 3 toes per foot with long savage looking claws on each. Head to toe, she looks something like This.

Her horns gleam a little as she steps, the claw covers shine as they reflect the light. Her feral features are washed with light as she steps across the room toward the other two, her facial structure is a mixture of nearly divine feminine beauty and rustic feral accents. Fangs on both top and bottom, rigid cheek bones, bushy but feminine eye brows. Her hair is black and it is shoulder length and frames her face in a messy way. She usually wears it much shorter, but hasn't cut it for some time.

"Well. I thought it was kinda quiet up in here, can't believe I'm early."

It was genuinely shocking that the one so chronically late has for once appeared fashionably early. She has sitting upon her face covering her exotic sky blue eyes, a pair of heavy large ray ban sun glasses which are pitch black and much to dark for a person to reasonably see out of. They are the only indication that Priss is totally and completely blind. But that's not quite true, Priss can see, but she see's the world with sound. Sonar to be exact, hyper sensitive, super human, mutant powered sonar which can image shapes up to a mile away with vivid and remarkable detail. Priss' range of hearing is even greater then that but the sonar images she receives from her special power start to become blurry, making her range of 'vision' much shorter, but a great deal greater than most who suffer from blindness. She does not suffer from problems associated with depth perception, but she has trouble seeing through windows, things become much more blurry at that point, so much that she is not comfortable driving, though she can sometimes see through walls, the same blurry images are always returned, she has no difficulty seeing around corners though, or through clothing. For Priss, most people don't wear clothes at all. she can see it, but it shows to her as more of a ghostly apparition surrounding a persons naked body. This is perhaps one of the more lesser known facts. Priss likes to keep it a secret because if everybody knew what she saw, it would be awkward city, but it's something Priss got used to years and years ago, so she tries her absolute best to keep it from being made 'into a big deal' because for a person as laid back as Priss is, 'Big Deals' are rarely enjoyable.

Also she smells like weed.

Michael walked through the school calmly, his hands buried in his leather jacket. He was still new to the place and when he had gotten the invite to go and speak with the main professor or the school he had been slightly taken aback. Yes he was enrolled in the college program, but he didn’t live on campus and wasn’t part of their super hero squad. He was his own, which was still a work in progress…a very painful work in progress. The very thought made him wince and reach up from his pocket to his chest where a welt still was from a gunshot he had taken a couple nights before from a gang member.

Maybe that was it? Maybe the headmaster had found out about his alter ego and thought he was acting to drastic. He sure thought so sometimes, he had killed already, and that fact was still having adverse effects on him. Those faces were still swimming in his mind. Everything seemed lost as they flashed by his mind’s eye, both dead and alive, they’re anger and then they’re lifeless form. It was going to haunt him for a while, and if this Professor had found out…he could only imagine how many issues it could have for his life at this mutant sanctuary.

He had to clear his mind, he had to calm himself down if he was going to at least look calm and collected when he walked into the office. It wasn’t only steps away by this point right? Michaels eyes looked around and caught sight of the door half open. He crept closer and looked inside, letting out a sigh of relief when he noticed that there were two others inside. One was one he had heard about around the school, Havok, one of the mutant team that Xavier had created. A man known for many things, some better than others, just like him.

“Umm Professor? You asked to see me?”

Jean knew something was wrong. It didn't take being a telepath to tell her that. There had been a subtle shift in the air and the psychic plane that many of them traveled on was eerily silent, a rarity within the school’s walls and even more so outside of it. And while there were no coherent thoughts hitting her in the face, the odd feeling and small nudge was. Furrowing her brows Jean opened her eyes and almost immediately closing them again.

Jean had forgotten where she was. The Medical Bay. With its blinding lights and sterile smells, how could she have forgotten? She spent as much time there these days than anywhere else. Strapped down to a bed, IV’s and sensors stuck to her skin. Giving her sight another try Jean blinked rapidly a few times before glancing around. Stifling a yawn, she noted that Hank was no longer in the room with her. Not that she had expected him to stay.

Reaching across herself Jean pulled the IV out of her left hand, before repeating the process on her right. She slowly sat up and yanked the sensors off her chest and rested her arms along her bent knees, her chin following to rest against the palm of her hand. Jean glanced around again hoping to spy a clock but was unsuccessful and tossed off the sheet covering her body and hopped off the bed, lifting her feet one at a time to get used to the cold floor.

Padding along the floor for the umpteenth time that week, Jean rounded the corner to enter the elevator and leaned against the wall. She was so exhausted by all of this that Jean hadn't even noted the sensors were still stuck to her and that she'd just yanked the cords out. Oops. The fact that she was also still in her nightgown had escaped her, having opted to get the testing done with before classes began for the day.

Another oops. Pushing her head against the wall Jean let out a half sigh/half yawn just as the doors opened. How unladylike. She thought harshly to herself before exiting and making her way down the thankfully empty hallway towards Charles' office. It took her an unfortunate four attempts to paw the door open before she slipped inside with her eyes closed.

Immediately sensing she was not alone, Jean maneuvered towards her regular seat near the Professor's chess board and sat down, using her unchallenged knowledge of the room to move without opening her eyes. Now that was talent.

"Charles. Whoever else is here.." Jean uttered in tired greeting.
