Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

THE WAR IS WON [style=border-right:10px solid #0066CC; letter-spacing:0px; border-top:10px solid #0066CC; background-color:#000000; padding: 3px; font-family:arial; font-size:10px; text-align:justify; line-height:9px; ] Cap's peak human mental process and peak human hyper metabolism was assisting him in breaking threw the fear toxin that had a stranglehold on everyone else in the room right now. Cap used his wherewithal to grab a hold of his shield tightly in his grip, then finally stood tall in the room, as he was no longer affected by the fear toxin. The fear toxin was slowly beginning to diminish in the room, so Cap took a quick glance around to check on his allies. Most of them were still under the control of the fear toxin, plus innocent civilians were as well, which was a bad situation. Although, it was about to turn into SHIELD and The Avengers favor, because the fear toxin was all but gone by now.
This was turning into one big nightmare, but one that was going to end in a victory for SHIELD and The Avengers. Failure was not in Cap's vocabulary; The Star Spangled Avenger never accepted failure, because the dream of victory here today was something the super soldier definitely wanted to accomplish. Cap realized he's been losing the battle so far, but he wasn't going to lost the war. Bane was about to find out that Cap wasn't The Dark Knight; that Cap was now angry for the deaths of all these innocent people, the harm done to his friends, and the fact that they're all doing this for blood lust had him furious.
Cap took off running toward Bane with intentions for a fight. While running toward Bane, Cap swung back his shield, then propelled it forward, as he aimed the shield right for Bane's mask. The shield connected with force right into Bane's mask, which the strength of the Vibranium-steel alloy in Cap's shield nearly crushed Bane's mask. "That's going to leave a mark." Cap spoke out to Bane, as he grabbed his shield that rebounded back to him while he ran up to Bane, then jumped up in the air and gave him a swift kick to the side of his face.
As Cap landed down on both his feet, he immediately swung his shield at Bane again, which connected right to his jaw. The force of the blow sent Bane stumbling backward a bit. "This desire for bloodshed, I won't allow you to get away with it, whoever you are. You're responsible for these innocent helpless victims who were killed today and you will pay for your actions." Cap informed Bane, as he continued to fight the behemoth not giving up until he put the big man down. All this devastation had taken it's toll on Cap, so he was definitely ready to finish this once and for all, so the carnage would finally come to an end.

D I N A H L A N C E ! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
She had been in Washington DC for a few days now, there had been a rush of crime sprees in the downtown area. Black Canary knew of the lack of muscle there and decided to venture out of Gotham. It would be fun. The first night she arrived into the town she took out a group of would be muggers and saved a couple for the night. The second night she elected to dine at a fine restaurant and then head out for the night and stopped another group. This time it had been teenagers with malicious intent for three young girls walking alone. And now for the third night.
Black Canary had been patrolling the streets on the other side of town from where the infamous Angeles Ball was taking place. It wasn't her scene. The upper class wallowing in their luxury. Black Canary was a woman who appreciated what she had and made do with what she didn't. Her day job was running a florist shop. Dinah Lance liked the peace and quiet and she got her fill of action during the night. She was a crime fighter much like her mother and father before her. A voice broke over the radio, feed from a 911 call. Black Canary moved closer to her motorcycle, her baby, as she dusted dirt from her jacket. Behind her were three goons, henchmen for some schemer, with a rope tying them all together. She had tossed their weapons into the river not too far from where she stood now. They had attempted to break into a jewelry store and now they would be left for the cops when they decided to come in.
She pulled out a device which had connected her to Superman, miles and miles away who already knew of what was occurring. Using the Satellites technology he had patched into the cellphones of the attendees and saw what was taking place. There was blood from what he described. Bane and Scarecrow were present and causing a ruckus as well as a being named, Loki. No doubt the ones at headquarters were running full scans and checks of all information available to figure out just who that guy was. She had previous run-ins with the other two as they were natives from Gotham, her home town. Dinah's head flipped around in search of a thrift store and just a few buildings down and a roar of her motorcycle's engine, she was there. Where went the Scarecrow went his only means of defense as he was rather... puny. Black Canary pulled her lock picking tools out and went to work on the door. A mask of some sort, to prevent the toxin from invading her senses.
"Those poor people," She muttered as she swung the door open and walked further in. She looked around for minutes as she was in search of a gas mask. In the mean time Canary fumbled with her transmitter. She had to get in touch with a certain woman who had the ability to take out the machine, Bane. Black Canary was more than able to defend herself but against someone like Bane, it was more about power.
"Connect me to Powergirl," She spoke as her gloved finger pressed against the small device in her ear. Blue eyes searched the space as she moved deeper into the store. "I don't give a rats ass, let me talk to her." She sighed in irritation. She didn't have time for this and Nicco was not willing to let Black Canary get by him. Her brows moved up in victory as she found what she was looking for and grabbed it from the shelf. She placed money on the counter as she locked the door and shut it, stepping back onto the streets. "Look, just give her a message. Supes is busy and I need her help in Washington DC, more exactly the Angeles Ball. Look it up for the location, I know you can. Bane and Scarecrow are turning the place into their own personal playground and the people inside are all messed up on his fear toxin. Batman has the antidotes as far as I know since this was his mess from years ago. Tell her to hurry, please." She said as she placed the mask in a carrying department on her motorcycle. She sat upon it and started the engine. She revved it three times before she took off in pursuit of the Angeles Mansion.

Post by Karen "Powergirl" Starr on Nov 26, 2012 18:41:14 GMT -5
"Scarecrow and bane!? Jeez woman why didn't you say so. I'll Alert Powergirl right away. Thanks for the tip citizen."Nicco loved using that line. Part of him was fairly anxious about all this super hero stuff in the beginning, but once you're hip deep in it, it felt damn good. Working long hours, obsessing over his passion, getting paid to do it and save lives? It made practically living in the Starrware building not so bad. He of course, had no idea who Canary was or how she was able to broadcast over the Justice League coms, but it didn't matter. Moments after the call was ended, a variety of info screens flicked on in front of him.
The "Powercave" has many resources available, it was a donation made by Bruce Wayne, aka batman. Many of the databases are encrypted and the files require a password only Powergirl knows, but they are linked to the Batcomputer and the JLA databases. An ID might display as Batman, but any links to his identity as Bruce wayne are blurred out and for Karen's eyes only. This enables Nicco to have full use of the system to assist Karen while she's in the field, while also protecting the identities of all the heroes in the world.
Within a few moments the data begins to fill out based on the conversation. The woman on the other end of the line is identified as Black Canaray, which makes Nicco feel kind of silly for referring to her how he did, but she'll get over it. Location and details concerning the Angeles Ball show up. In the mean time, Nicco is dialing Karen."Karen, trouble.""I'm playing a game online with my girlfriend, can't you just barrow a suit from stark and take charge of a situation for once?"The playfully nagging inclination in Karen's voice was nothing but purely endearing. Nicco rolls his eyes, the reference Karen makes is to an earlier dialogue the two shared concerning Nicco's over all contributions to the super hero scene. They joked about him designing his own psuedo-iron man armor from the nanite based grey goo compounds that most of the hyper tech at Starrware is based off of. Nicco's response is to simply laugh Karen's snarky response off and get down to business."Very funny Karen. Scarecrow and Bane are trashing The Angeles Ball in DC. Black Canary needs you on site, I'm showing several members of The Avengers are also on site, but are most likely tied up. So Suit up, you're on the clock. Syncing data with your mobile now."Even as Nicco was filling in the details, Karen was already in her Powergirl costume and sailing across the sky. Kate would have to wait, their co-op my little pony online adventure game was thankfully pausable. Karen would only be mildly annoyed because it had taken both women quite a lot of nerve to even load the stupid game up in the first place, but they had decided that sense the relationship was vaguely long distance, spending any sort of time together would be important until something more permanent could be arranged. The game itself was just a joke, it was the time that was important.
Karen sighs as she flies right over Gotham en route to DC. If only Kate knew who Karen really was, they wouldn't have to resort to playing ridiculous video games to supplement quality time together. It's a stupid video game any ways. The pout on Karen's face was palpable, that is of course, if you were near her. Which no one was."Closing in on the ball now Nicco, why don't you patch me into any available coms between friendlies."Karen said as she sailed up the street the ball was being held on. She'll arrive in the next second."Done.""Powergirl here, who needs a hand?"Karen announced as she zips into the hotel where the ball is being held, any friendlies with coms in the area would hear her. Cue triumphant entrance panel.

Post by Cole "Grifter" Cash on Nov 27, 2012 2:38:13 GMT -5
[atrb=border,0,true] He ended up laying there on th floor for a good ten minutes. The conflict raged around him; many cried out in pain and screamed as they relived horrible memories of the past.
Eventually, However, though it didn't seem like it at first, the toxin concentration- and therefore also his hallucinations- were starting to get weaker and weaker. Still, it would be a while before he would be completely back to normal. The blood on his hands appeared and disappeared and changed color. Cole's vision flickered between blurry, clear and normal and clear. At least he could breathe properly now, his brain had forgotten all about the sensation as it had lapsed into images of things that weren't really there. All of these were chock full of former enemies and friends and, above everyone, Zannah. The natural thought went through his head that he wondered when he'd see her again. But wait, no, wasn't he seeing her now? No. No. These were different people, different faces, different universes. Who knew where in this whole wide world Zealot was? He could think logically. Hallelujah. Suddenly a huge spider burst through the wall right in front of him and Cole's eyes widened. Sliding through the glass backwards, he almost made it to the wall before it was on him. Then suddenly- it was gone. He sat back against the wall, perplexed. Everyone was back in their rightful spot. Some were crying out and writhing on the floor, looking as if they were about to die. Bane was getting mauled by the Captain, (—Wasn't that powerplaying, he thought?—) and Thor and Loki were still at it over by the bar. Another blink, and he couldn't help but cry out in amazement. He wasn't in the ballroom anymore, he was standing in the moonlit room back at the Coda castle, looking at Lady Zannah. She was sitting on his bed, her finger beckoning him that way. "Wait, hold on a quick minute, you aren't real." The question was really posed to the air, but to him it was pointed directly at her. "No i'm not. I've been waiting..." she grinned back at him.
Both in the real world and in his dream/hallucination thingy, Cole slowly got to his feet. Then before anyone could say a word, he slapped himself as hard as he could across the cheek. Now that restored order for a couple seconds. He didn't know it but a huge, bloody handprint covered where he he struck himself.
Someone he recognized- or maybe someone h recognized- made an arrival. Powergirl. She was from his neck of the woods. "I think we all need a little help." He managed to stumble over and stand by her side as he addressed her question. "Just don't breathe too hard, you might end up seeing weird things..." With a groan, he watched the glass become maggots, and he doubled over again.

The God of Thunder

So you would take the world I love as recompense for your imagined slights. - - The God of Thunder[style=margin-top: -10px; margin-right: -10px; border: #fff 1px dashed; padding: 5px; overflow: auto; width: 360px; height: 200px; font-family: trebuchet ms; font-size: 9px; line-height: 15px; background-color: #0F0F0F; color:#8E8A8E;filter: alpha(opacity=50); -moz-opacity: .50; opacity:.50;]
Thor brushed aside Loki's insults. He only meant to understand, which was more than he could say for most; however, at every turn Loki was quick with an answer to cut him off, chasing around the very central idea that Loki needed to come home. That was not an option for the trickster, and Thor could see that, though he refuted that idea wholly.
"Why, brother? Why do you need it? Surely there are other ways."
"Lies they may have been, but you mustn't let them rule you. Loki-" and Loki's voice grew smaller, fragile even. That moment of false vulnerability left Thor unprepared for his brother's next actions. "You always have a choice." he clenched his jaw after a turn of Loki's knife. "My choice is here."
Thor stopped. Loki was asking Thor to kill him. He could not, would not consider that lethal option. "I would never- hrgh!" a system of cables found their way around Thor's throat, seizing him upward and constricting like a snake. The more he struggled the tighter it became, in his impatience Thor grabbed for Mjolnir (which had fallen moments earlier) and summoned her into his hand. He directed a charge of lightening into the cable and was free, the snake falling limply to the ground. "Enough!" his voice boomed, tired of this exchange, not with lives were at stake around, not when the storm raged high in the sky and the forms of his allies and comrades writhing all about them.

Post by Tony "Iron Man" Stark on Dec 18, 2012 12:40:32 GMT -5
What are we waiting for? Why don't we break the rules already? I try twice as hard and I'm half as liked, but here they come again to jack my style [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: 8a8a8a; opacity: .7; border: #550505 solid 4px; width: 470px; padding: 15 0 15 0px;]
Come on, Stark. Wake up. Wake up. Wake. The fuck. Up.
It was a weird mix of being half-conscious, half-unconscious. Blood still readily streamed from his nose and lip in the real world and a nice sticky puddle at the back of his head was slowly seeping outward.
In between the dancing colors and the darkness that swirled around him, trying to choke him, images flashed through his mind. Their corpses. His parents'. Seeing their wax-like faces, eyes rolled backward, mouths hanging open in anguish. Their deaths had come so rapidly, so violently, that their faces had never gone to that peaceful Hollywood-death scene that so many movies showed. It was a lie, it was all a lie. Death wasn't peaceful or gentle. Death was the horror-stricken faces contorted in terror and anger that donned his parents as they stood over him. Everything was blurry except for their faces. Why. Why?
No, you're dead. You're... go away! He tried to scream out, but the thoughts wouldn't make it past his lips. That was probably the concussion.
Everything was muffled. It all sounded like it was under water and a thousand feet away. Lightning struck somewhere in the room, at least, he thought it did. Rain sprinkled down on his face... or was it blood?
And then a third face joined him. Her strawberry blond hair falling around her shoulders, her clothes torn and her face contorted in the same manner as his parents. There was blood on her. There was...
"Pepper!" He cried out, his voice hoarse and ragged.
No. NO. She couldn't be dead! She hadn't even been here! She wasn't invited to the party! But... what if she had come? What if she had tried to contact him and couldn't, so she'd assumed he had gotten drunk and needed a ride home? What if she'd gotten mixed up in this mess and been hurt?
Was she dead?
No. No, no, no. This was all a dream. A nightmare. A hallucination. It had to be. Had to be.
"J-Jarvis," Tony croaked, consciousness finally returning to him fully. He squeezed his eyes shut to make the undead images leave him, but they remained, even behind his eyelids. "Jarvis, I need to get my helmet."
"Systems are at critical, Mr. Stark. The RTD core has pierced your chest cavity and there appears to be a circuit shorting out. This could cause the core to short out completely, Sir. Movement is not recommended."
"Then move for me," Tony ordered him, shouting it almost as he tried to drown out the screams that all three undead persons over him were suddenly making.
It took JARVIS a moment to understand, but he did. The repulsors and flight stabilizers in the Iron Man suit's feet charged up, white light glowing from underneath them. The energy pulsed outward, scooting the Iron Man suit across the floor toward where his out-of-commission helmet lay. A screech of metal against wood and metal against metal filled the air as JARVIS moved him, but within moments, Tony was close enough to reach out and grasp the helmet.
He fought the tears stinging at the corners of his eyes as the image of Pepper broke down in front of him, and shoved the helmet back on.
JARVIS sealed the suit and air flooded Tony's breathing apparatus. It began circulating.
Tony went limp again as he just lay there, breathing in the refreshing air.
"Analyzing the toxin now," JARVIS informed him. "Analysis complete, Sir. Beginning the extraction process."
"Right. You just... do that, then." Tony mumbled. The helmet had made his surroundings black again, and the world was still muffled. But at least he could focus on his breathing now. Because JARVIS was right. His arc reactor was embedded too deeply, no doubt caused by the indent in his armor that Bane had left. If Tony could just push that indent back out, his RTD would stop shorting out and shocking the hell out of him. He was going to have burn marks all over inside by the time he was out of here.
Hey. He just thought about leaving, about surviving. Damn, JARVIS must be extracting this stuff pretty quickly!
The voices were still in his head, though. They were screaming his name and shouting at him. He did his best to drown them out while JARVIS took care of the toxin. Now if only he could see....
Tony moved an arm and reached behind him to feel the bullet hole. It couldn't have severed the connection from his suit to his helmet, so it must have just interrupted the signal. If he could just....
Using what strength he had left, Tony pried open a section of the outer hull of his helmet, exposing the wiring. He fished through it until he found the bullet. The sensors on the suit's fingertips were calibrated to Tony's own nerve endings, which made it possible for him to "feel" things with his metal gloves. Truly, the suit and himself were one.
After plucking the bullet from its resting place, immediately Stark's HUD began flickering back to life. Tossing the bullet aside and bending the metal back into place at the back of his head, Tony waited for his start-up macros to finish and the suit to tell him just how bad a shape he was in.
Warnings and red flashes met his eyes as the suit scanned itself and gave him the heads-up. There wasn't any way the suit's self-repairing nanites could even begin to fix the damage done until he'd been recharged, and Tony was at half-capacity and quickly fading. If the suit ran out of power, well then Stark would literally be a sitting duck. Trapped in an immovable, heavy, metal suit.
"Out of the frying pan and into the fire...." He mumbled, wriggling his nose to keep the blood from dripping into his mouth. Unfortunately the metallic taste of his own blood had already made him sick to his stomach.
Slowly, the images of his parents and Pepper were fading and his vision was clearing (although he suspected it wasn't actually his vision that had cleared, but the suit compensating for the change in eyesight that the concussion had caused). Regardless, he was breathing clean air now and the toxin was leaving his body.
Now all he had to do was kick ass.
Tony smirked a little when the thought came to mind. Finally. Back to normal. He glanced around to take in the situation. It looked like the good guys were still losing. Maybe it was time to even the playing field. But how? He still wasn't at full working-capacity, and one false move and he'd lose power to the arc reactor.
"Looks like this game of dodge ball is gonna have to become a game of chess." He mumbled. He eyed the players. Take out the bigger ones and the pawns will be easy. So. There was Loki, the queen. He had all the tricks up his sleeve and was certainly the most powerful. Bane, the rook. He liked to run into things and smash stuff. (Huh. Kinda like Hulk.) But who was the king? The guy that wasn't moving much, protected by the others, but still had some fight in him.
Tony's eyes settled on a being he hadn't noticed before in the far back, who seemed to just be enjoying the game laid out before him. Hadn't someone referred to him as Scarecrow?
"Bingo. Ding, ding, ding." Tony smirked and raised a hand, letting the repulsor charge up. Scarecrow didn't seem to be paying attention to him, so... maybe he could surprise the master of nightmares. "Time to castle the king."
The blast left Tony's hand with a small kick-back, sailing right toward Scarecrow's chest.
Then his power levels dropped even more.
Some nights I wish that this all would end 'cause I could use some friends for a change |

The white of her costume was bright against the dark haze of the toxin, almost blinding. The monster didn't live in the light anymore; it stuck to the shadows where no stretch of peace could reach it. The distorted image of white was in pieces, like some bizarre cubism painting, cracking inside of itself and losing signal. Or maybe Peter was just losing his vision, he couldn't tell what anything was anymore, every part of the world sectioned off into kaleidoscopic multiples. He could see six heads and six chairs and six knives stacked on top of the other miserably, all blurry, seven senses ringing out at once, screaming and cluttered. Were those people screaming?
There was a mad pattern of scratches all along the sockets of his mask, with his fingernails torn straight through each of the fingers of his gloves. He probably looked like he could compete with Scarecrow's mask, the way it had been scarred, (yet still concealing the entirety of identity).
Who needs a hand?
Peter raised his. One of his. He wasn't sure which (he counted eight).
However his attentions turned to the man screaming next to him, in the form of a rabidly diseased dog. Peter tackled it, keeping its snarling jaws from hurting anyone else, but oh god its flesh was riddled in parasites. He wrestled with the creature, howling out in pain, trying to put it out of its misery. After all, that was what you did with Mad Dogs.
You put them down.

Screams in the darkness. That’s all mad dog was aware of.
Thanks to his regenerations abilities Dr. Cranes fear toxins were working its way through his body faster then the average man, causing reality to slowly fade back into focus. However reality couldn’t come fast enough for Mad Dog as he was immersed in his own personal nightmare, a place where he was powerless. A place where the voices of everyone he came in contact with were screaming bloody murder in his eye. and the one person Mad Dog ever felt any type of positive emotion towards was looking down at him with disgust in her eyes and sheer blind contempt in her voice.
Truly hell on earth…
However thankfully for Mars the dream suddenly shifted and he was no longer confined in his familiar cell and instead he was lying on the floor of what looked like the main hallway of the mental hospital, and just beyond a seemingly never ending hallway was an open door….freedom.
With the vision of Rose now gone Mad Dog quickly scrambles to his feet and breaks off into a mad scrambling run, not caring about the slowly dimming light all around nor the sounds of barking of rabid dogs all around him, only caring about an escape from this never ending nightmare, and he was close…so close. He could practically see the outside world…before he was suddenly tackled to the ground by a giant eight legged figure, wrestling him to the ground and pouncing on him and…speaking…speaking in a tone lethally calm and oh so familiar voice:
“The patient, capacity to survive in any type of environment is simply remarkable; the patient has been without food or water for the last 3 months, I’ve estimated he must have expired too many times to count during the course of the experimentation. This must be investigated further….tomorrow I’ll administer the lethal injection.”
And at that very moment something deep down in Mad Dog snapped. In an instant as if he was being attacked by a teddy bear, Mad Dog threw the spider off him began to frantically driving his elbow in any place he could reach.
“SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! YOU MADE ME! YOU MADE ME WHAT I AM! I HATE YOU!”

At one point his arms had disassembled and crumbled away, leaving him helpless and exposed to the beast pounding on him, and trampling him like the insect he was. Peter would not leave this fight without injury; these blows would settle and bruise, and even with his accelerated healing, the pain would linger for days without any clear memory of the face of the one who had given them to him. All he would remember was the dog, not the man.
The dog was barking, howling something guttered and horrible, but Peter could only see red. Red words full of hatred. Red fangs and eyes, and the red of own suit lacquered over by another layer of slick, red blood. Peter did not remember when he stopped moving, but he froze to the floor limp, barely breathing. He wondered if the dog would pick at his bones. It seemed hungry enough. Being picked clean settled in his mind as a much better alternative than rotting away. Although he couldn't get any more horrible than he was now.
"So..That's it, then." he looked up at the open sky gaping through the ceiling. The screaming stopped as far as he was concerned. All Peter could hear was a low ringing noise, deafening the outside world.
I'm sorry Aunt May...I guess I won't be able to tell you about Washington D.C. after all...
