"Victory is MINE Baldy!
And if you had any hair I'd take that too!"
And if you had any hair I'd take that too!"
Hair: Iris's hair usually comes to just past her shoulders and can be any style really depending on what she feels like that day. Sometimes it is shorter and comes down to her chin, but typically she leaves it just past her shoulders. There is a slight wave to it most of the time too because typically she doesn't bother straightening it. The color depends on what she feels like that day because her powers (to be explained later) allow her to make it any color she wishes. Mostly it is neon colors rather than natural ones though.
Eyes: Iris has green colored eyes that seem brighter or darker depending on what her hair color is and if the color in them is brought out. Technically, she could make them whatever she wanted, but prefers to leave them as they are. Her eyes are oval with long dark lashes.
Height: five feet six inches
Weight: 128 lbs
Distinguishing Marks: She has a lip piercing and her ears pierced. Other than that her hair is pretty distinguishing with being neon colors and all.
Appearance: Iris is an average height woman with neon colored hair down past her shoulders. The style isn't much important to her as it depends on what she feels like doing with it, that also goes for what color it is. Her eyes are green surrounded by dark lashes. The mutant's skin is rather pale and in the center of her bottom lip she has a silver lip ring. She's not a very formidable looking girl and is instead on the tiny side of average, but she did take self-defense courses and can at least defend herself in a fair fight. Usually she's seen smiling and also usually has a camera of some sort with her. The outfits she wears tend to be just as bright as her hair.
Face Claim: (Marimoon)
"I’m not interested in making new friends,
I don’t even like the ones I have”
I don’t even like the ones I have”
Likes: Taking pictures, chameleons, rainbows, bright colors, forests, traveling, markers
Dislikes: thunder, lightning, shellfish, lack of color, large cities, loud noises
Personality: Iris is a very curious mutant and is always asking questions. Sure some find it rather annoying, but she just wants to make sure she has all the facts she could need about something. Thus, she tends to accidentally make people really think about their answer because with her questions she ends up forcing them to elaborate far more than simple answers would. Though, they can always just walk away and ignore her, that’s always possible too, and when that happens she tends to pout and then look for something else to occupy herself with. Which really, she never has a problem with because she’s pretty easily amused. Most of the time she just prefers to play with her power on a canvas of some sort. Whether that is a wall, a sidewalk, a bench or an actual canvas usually depends on where she is and what her mood is. She actually enjoys taking pictures and playing with their colors as well by swapping them around.
The curious girl is usually in a fairly good mood too, so she’s rather pleasant to deal with for most people. Iris does have manners, and so isn’t going to be rude to someone unless she has a reason to. There are very few times when she’s just downright miserable, and mostly it’s on either gray days or during thunderstorms. She finds it very hard to do anything during them because she can hardly see at all and that terrifies her. When she’s scared she’s far less polite and pleasant and much more jumpy and prone to slipping up with her power. Anything or anyone trying to talk to her at that time is going to just make her jump or flinch. Iris doesn’t necessarily complain about it when it happens, as she’s basically accepted it as part of her life, but she isn’t thrilled about it certainly. There are very few things that can make her angry, because really she’s fairly easy going about most things. She can get angry, but her temper isn’t that bad, and it’s more her just glaring and pouting at whoever or whatever rather than shouting or getting violent.
"With great power comes great responsibility"
Powers: The best way to describe it is that she's a color thief. Iris can take colors out of objects and distribute them elsewhere. She can also store them to distribute later as the transfer does not have to be instantaneous. The only really defensive thing she can do is take the color she has stored up and spray it in someone's face as a distraction before running off somewhere. The volume of color the item has is what she can distribute. For example if she was taking color from an apple, she couldn't color an entire wall with it, just an area that takes up the same amount of space the color does on the apple. She does have to touch something to either take or transfer color though, it isn't something that can be done at a distance. It also sometimes happens on accident as a reflex when she's startled or upset.
Weapons (n/a)
Strengths/Abilities: She's flexible enough for it to be considered a strength, but she is no contortionist. Just has a slightly higher flexibility that comes from using it when she was a child and keeping up with it.
Decently fast runner from training. With a power that isn't very helpful in a fight, she kind of has to be able to run away in situations that call for it. She wouldn't win a race, but she could probably outrun your average purse snatcher.
Good at taking pictures.
Weaknesses:
Brontophobia - She is absolutely terrified of thunder and lightning and tends to hide when storms are happening with her hands over her ears so she can't hear it.
Allergic to shellfish
Loud noises overwhelm her because of the synesthesia which also explains her fear of thunder. It kind of just causes her to go blind from large amounts of color overwhelming her.
"All it takes is one bad day to reduce
the sanest man alive to lunacy,"
the sanest man alive to lunacy,"
History: Iris was born to two normal parents who knew about mutants from the news, but never suspected that their kid would be one or was one. The only odd thing they noticed was that they could never find colored paint or crayons despite thinking they had bought colors, and kind of put it off to her possibly losing them or them being used up. What they did notice was the fact that she really didn’t like loud noises and tended to say that the colors were blinding her when she heard them. That was, a little odd of course and at first they put it off as her imagination. It didn’t go away as she gold older though, and eventually they took her to the doctor to discover she had a condition called Synesthesia where sounds would make her see colors. The louder the sound the larger the shape until Iris could no longer see and it impacted her vision to some extent. It was also rather overwhelming, and so she tended to avoid loud sounds, and it’s the main reason why she fears thunder.
As she got older and was about the age of a middle schooler she discovered the fact that her stealing color from things was actually a power. It was a mutation of sorts actually, and that she could also put color back onto things. What she took color from or gave color to she really had no control over, and so she usually got accused of spilling paint on the wall or furniture even though she didn’t. Really, unless it was on a painted object it didn’t even look like paint it just looked like a discoloration. This was passed off as her trying to clean it up and not succeeding. Iris just kind of dealt with it because she didn’t want to explain her powers and have them think she was more of a freak than she already was. Though, apparently the synesthesia ran in the family, it had just skipped her parents. They still thought she was weird though, and she was very much aware of that. Though, they did at least try not to say so in front of her. It was the effort that counted in that respect she supposed.
A few more years passed and she ended up at Xavier’s school for gifted youngsters. At the school, she learned better control over her powers, and thus a way to hide it better. Though, she’s not very good at blending in because she started using it to make her hair neon colors. Still, she could always pretend she dies it, and goes with that. At least now she only accidentally uses her powers when surprised. At the school she even met a bunch of other with powers and felt like she fit in far better than she did at home. Sure her condition of sorts was still rare, but she at least wasn’t out of place like she had been with two parents who neither had synesthesia or mutant powers. She finished high school through Xavier’s school and is currently pondering what she actually wants to do as a job. So she has taken a few years off to train with her powers and get physically fit and find something useful to do with her power other than just borrowing colors and placing them elsewhere.

Abbey had issues just like Arthur did, though hers were a little different. The girl had abandonment issues far more than she had love issues. Really, if she was honest with herself, she had never loved the other nations that had come and gone. It was more the hurt that came from being abandoned than the hurt that came with a broken heart because you loved them. She had never even expressed that she loved them, because the truth was she had never really known them all that well. None of them stayed long enough for her to really know them. They just stayed long enough for her to hope they would keep her, but then left. Ah well, it apparently wasn’t meant to be, but Arthur was different. He had come back after France left, and so far it seemed like he was staying. Sure she knew he had to leave sometimes, and accepted it, but then just wanted to see him when he came back. This time had been different, and it made her sad that he was locking himself away and just drinking until he stopped feeling. You couldn’t just go around being perpetually numb, well you could, but it sounded like a miserable existence. This was why she just wanted to try and comfort him any way she could at this point.
Seeing his expression, it seemed she had slightly confused him with her questions, and wondered what he was thinking. It would seem though, that he wasn’t going to tell her, because he was remaining silent. This wasn’t exactly comforting and she pouted a bit at him for not having any sort of response. She might as well drop the subject for now then, and she sighed slightly. They could always figure out their odd little relationship later when they both sobered up a bit. She resolved to try and get an answer out of him later, but that was really more of a matter of if she would have the courage once she wasn’t drunk. Abbey did love him, or at least she was convinced she did, and really it was just a matter of getting him to accept that. This was a feat easier said than done though. Thus, why she figured she would just have to keep trying until he accepted it. Though that could take another hundred years possibly, but she wasn’t worried about it. After all, they had all the time in the world didn’t they? At least, she hoped they did.
Abbey didn’t even notice that Arthur had any reaction to her nuzzling against his cheek and kissing it. The girl definitely wasn’t in the most observant of states at the moment, and thus it had been completely missed by her. Otherwise she may have asked about his reaction, but instead she nuzzled his neck and heard him suck in a breath near her ear. She spoke to him, and felt his thumb tracing on her knee as she sat comfortably with her face against his shoulder. Feeling his hand go along her spine she twitched a bit closer as she squeezed him slightly. ”That tickles.” she said simply then felt him press into her hair a bit. He was talking now though, and said that he wouldn’t make her leave. Well, that was good at least, but his next statement confused her as she felt his lips against her ear. ”But ‘m comfy.” she said with a pout against his shoulder. ”You never want to snuggle with me.” she said sadly, and made no movement to leave. The girl didn’t want to, and had no idea why it would be a good idea anyway. Leaning up a bit she nuzzled her nose against his. ”Do you really want me to leave?” she asked him pouting again. The capital didn’t want to leave, she wanted to stay and cuddle with him until they both stopped feeling so upset by the entire situation. Besides, it didn’t feel like he wanted her to leave, not with his arm around her and not pushing her away in the slightest, so unless he really expressed that he wanted her to leave, she wasn’t going to.
