Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

It was time to get the revenge she had been training her whole life for. She had lost everything. Her friends, her family, her home- and she would not leave the world of the living without exacting some kind of revenge. But her plans had not gone off without a hitch. Complications were a part of life, but even with all she had been anticipating she had been unprepared for what had happened with her first encounter with Thaal Sinestro. She had not been expecting him to have made friends on earth. It would have been so easy to kill him if he had been alone, or even if it had only been lanterns around to help him. But that girl had been there. That Raven. He had made allies where she had been sure he was not capable of doing such a thing. Such a ruthless, evil being such as the leader of the Sinestro Corps should not have been inclined to have friends. But it didn’t matter- it only made the nature of her revenge more sweet. She no longer cared about emotion, or friendship, or anything that had made her alive. She was Death. Knowing Sinestro lived as she had once lived only filled her with more desire to incite suffering. He did not deserve the life he had deprived so many others of.
He would pay for his selfishness, as would any who stood with him.
Since Sinestro seemed partial to humans, she decided the best way to create round two with the man would be to attack them. They needed to learn what being protected by someone like Sinestro really meant, anyway.
She flew over the city limits, looking down at the humans bustling below her. Such foolish, simple beings. Her own people had been much more advanced- much more people. Why did he protect them, when he destroyed a clearly superior race with the flick of his wrist? What was so important about such a tiny, seemingly useless planet? She was not going to ask him- she would just watch it all burn.
Her magic spread out over the city like a plague, seeping through every building and misting through car windows in the streets. It filled the air like a black fog, then faded again as though it had been nothing more than a passing cloud. But the effects of the spell soon became apparent- humans suddenly sparking fights with one another over absolutely nothing. Yelling and screaming quickly became punching and shoving, which easily turned into grabbing the nearest weapon and trying to smack someone over the head with it. There was no order, no reason- the humans were simply inclined to beat the hell out of one another, and it mattered little how vicious or blood-thirsty their attacks appeared. One humans was biting the arm of an enraged child, while a formerly sweet old was beating a dog to death with her heavy purse. Her spelled had worked as she had wanted it to- creating a city full of completely wild, animalistic humans ready to rip one another’s throats out brutally. Their only instinct had become to fight. Even the animals had been turned, suddenly snapping at the hands of their owners, or anyone else who happened to be around.
She was sure even the zoo would soon find itself with a slight problem once the animals all started acting like rabid beasts. Not that the humans inside were going to be any different.
Though her magic was powerful and spread well through the city, she was not pleased. She didn’t care how many humans hurt one another, or what it brought to her as a result. Any other hero was of no importance to her- she was only looking for a villain pretending to have changed clothing. It was only a shame she couldn’t keep the spell constant, the spell only affecting those who had been their with the initial casting. Anyone joining the fray from that moment on would not be turned into a feral monster, and anyone with a good deal of magic in them might be able to easily turn back the minds of those under her power. She didn’t care.
It was all just a ploy to pull in her target.
Slowly, she lowered herself to the street below, the humans around her backing off as though frightened of her, attacking one another but never coming near to her. She didn’t smile. She didn’t glare- she merely watched.
Watched and waited.
OoC: This is set in San Francisco. Sinestro will be joining shortly. Anyone who might want to get there first, feel free! PM Sinestro with questions.)

The Tower, removed from San Fransisco by only a stretch of water, was close enough that the resident of the tower was capable of feeling the collective emotion of the city. It was not too strong, more like background noise and it was a comfort to the Titan. Often she felt their collective hope as they lived life. But today there was a change. It was sudden and increased rapidly and even as Raven read her book she could feel it building up around her. Gasping, the Titan retreated to her soul-self, trying to find solace in the absence of emotion around her as she tried to comprehend the sudden change that she had been faced with.
The sudden anger that filled the city was strong and it struck the Titan although she knew that the main reason she had to flee was partly because of the surprise. But also, Raven thought as she stood on a rock in the expanse of her soul-self, because the magic, or empathy needed to change the emotion of a city was difficult. Once they had traveled to the future and Raven had met her future self who had been able to drain this very city of its emotion but that was not something that Raven could even think about. To do such a thing would risk releasing her inner demon. But the city still needed her and although the opponent may be strong, Raven knew that she would defend her home.
So with that, Raven sent her soul-self out into the city, the dark bird silently swooping through the fighting city, searching. At such times, Raven was aware that she could appear as an omen of darkness, a black shadow passing over a city in conflict; like the real ravens that would swoop over a battle field of corpses. Disregarding these thoughts, the teenager pressed on. There had to be a cause behind this change. There was only so long that the teenager could keep her soul-self out and after five minutes of searching, the teenager teleported into the city with a poof of purple smoke and continued the search by flight.
She didn't have to wait long. As she flew above the city she spotted a point where the people where backing away from one being. As she came closer, Raven recognised the form that remained apart from the conflict. It was the strange magic user that she had met when visiting Sinestro. The Titan knew that this was a strong magic user and as she lowered herself so she was only several meters above the ground, Raven was cautious, not moving closer than needed. If she went any lower she may have to face the innocent people and she did not want to fight the strange magic user if their was another option. "Reverse your spell and leave. These people have done you no harm and are under the protection of the Titans." |
[/b] Raven announced. Yes the Titans weren't exactly back together but it was still no lie. With any luck she may be able to deter the woman from manipulating the human population.[/style] tags:OPEN word count: ??? muse: Various notes: None! Kara smiled at the cuteness of her puppy and took to the skies flying towards the fortress, Jamie flew beside’s her as they made their way to the fortress. Kara felt that something was off but she just assumed that it was something to do with human ways, so she shrugged it off. The super powered duo landed at the fortress and made their way inside the building. It was like home to Kara, nice and relaxing. Jamie looked up at Kara with her soft brown eyes and Kara smiled “yes Jamie go play with Krypto.” Kara watched Jamie run off to find her white friend; Kara made her way to the computer room where she would be able to watch what was going on in the world. The round plant seemed to be doing just fine, until she got to the computer that showed San Francisco, she saw a lady floating above the town, the lady looked powerful and scary. Her Fellow Titan Raven was also floating above the city, Kara moved the camera so she could see the town. The people were fighting each other and Kara got concerned.
Kara wondered if raven needed help, being that Kara had just started helping with the titans she had no way of getting a hold of raven, so going their looked like Kara’s only choice. The blonde got up and made her way to where Jamie was, she knelt down to the big dog and hugged her. “Jamie stays here, and if I’m not back in more than 10 hours go get mom, dad, and Michael.” Jamie nodded, Kara kissed her puppy’s cheek and zoomed out of the fortress and flew towards San Francisco. The blonde girl flew and she wondered what was going on, she floated up next to raven. “Raven, what’s going on?” Kara looked at the women across from raven. “I saw on the computers and thought that you might need help, I just don’t know how to get a hold of you.” Kara kept a close eye on the women.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Sinestro was aware that something was happening in San Francisco- his ring had told him that there were multiple reports of people going completely crazy in the streets. They seemed to be attacking one another without relent, and for no reason. Sinestro had seen it before. Humans had attacked each other because of Grodd’s mind control on another occasion. Still, it seemed a little too early for the gorilla to have escaped from prison already. How had he managed it? And then to find the means to project his mind control over such a large city. Perhaps he had changed after all- he seemed a hell of a lot stronger than Sinestro had given him credit for.
It was something to do, anyway, and perhaps a good mission for the Red Lantern he was currently keeping hostage to get involved with. He could see what it was like to take on someone for the greater good, and not because there was some simple reason to be angry with them. So he sent word to Razer, alerting him to the problem and leaving him a location so he would be able to find the city if he didn’t know how to follow distress calls with his somewhat unpredictable ring. With that out of the way, he took off, leaving his underwater base behind to deal with yet another threat. It felt like it had only been yesterday that he had been helping Wonder Woman fight off a bunch of mythological creatures and getting poisoned for the effort. He was feeling better since then, but he couldn’t say he was one hundred percent.
He swooped out of the sky as he hovered over the city, his ring telling him that strange energies were flooding the place. It seemed to be more than just some kind of mind control. It wasn’t science- it was… magic.
So not Grodd after all.
His ring was quick to point out that Raven and Supergirl were both in the area, so Sinestro decided to check on them and perhaps find out what was really going on. As he moved in to join them, he saw they had already found and engaged the enemy. Frowning, he brought himself beside the both of them, though his attention was not on finding out if they were alright or what was going on.
The Green Lantern glared at the woman across from them, a sense of rage and loathing filling him in an instant. So much for making a good example for the red lantern- all he could feel was a potent want to rip the woman in front of him in half.
“You,” he snarled viciously, his green energy radiating around him like wild electricity. Being near her seemed to make the pain in his leg stronger. Perhaps that was her doing- he only had to deal with pain thanks to her spell shattering the bone in his leg. Whether it was her, or all in his mind, he didn’t care- it still incensed him further.
“Kara, Raven- you need to keep back,” he all but barked at them, his voice less concerned and more demanding than anything else, “she is extremely dangerous.” He looked back at her, clenching his fist and pointing his ring at her. She didn’t seem to be using a spell to drain his ring this time around. Perhaps she thought she could take him in a fair fight. Or maybe she was ready to give up. Either way, he had every intention of finishing her off. She would not put his friends in danger again.
He would make sure of it.
“I’m going to make sure you suffer before I kill you,” he hissed.

Razer had been in his room in the Titans Tower, wasting time brooding. He found it much, much easier to get lost doing that now that he had a place that he could remain. Before, moving around, he had never longed for distractions. While it had been very uncomfortable a great deal of the time, more and more he had to admit that the Green Lantern had been correct in telling him to explore the world. And while that option was still available to him, and even though even remaining within San Francisco offered a great deal of unique experiences for the Red Lantern, he found it hard to resist the urge of simply turning away from everything, with it offered to him.
However, his ring started to glow, projecting the instructions that Sinestro had sent him. Getting up with a grunt, his outward appearance couldn't mask how close to being glad that he was being forced to leave the tower. While he had accepted the chance to lessen his attachment to the outside world, it had only been possible by weakening himself. Allowing himself time to brood slowly but surely turned his anger into despair, an emotion he could not afford to feel. If he allowed despair to consume him as rage did...the ring would cease to function as a heart, and he would die just as surely as if Sinestro denied him his ring.
Leaving through the window specially designed for flight-capable Titans, Razer began to soar into the sky. Conveniently, the mission was taking place within the area of San Francisco, and soon his ring detected the green energy that was the telltale sign of Guardian meddling, in this case, the Green Lantern Sinestro.
"Why have you brought me here, Green Lantern. Another instruction? Or are you simply unable to perform your duty without assistance from me?"
Razer kept the snide tone almost as a decoration by this point. Any real attempt to convince the Green Lantern to just give him his lantern and be done with it had failed as spectacularly as he imagined they would, but things could always change. Perhaps with all that luck had failed to give him, things might swing his way eventually. However, weary distaste soon gave way to surprise. He had not expected to see his newfound companion with them as well.
"Raven? I was unaware you had left the tower. What is going on he-"
With that, he found his ring nearly exploding with power, and he needed to limit himself so he doesn't burn through his reserves much faster than they normally would drain. Normally, his own rage was all he could draw power from, a well that, while far from shallow, inherently limited. The rage that welled around him, within the area of the city they were in, was enough that he felt as if he could stand alongside Atrocitus himself.
"What....what is this?" he asks, scanning around. He can't tell at all what the source of this would be, magic was something he had not experienced at all in his rather short time as a Red Lantern. The only magic-user he could name was floating beside him."
Following the stares, Razer turns to see an alien. "Is....is she the one responsible for this?"
Judging by Sinestro's unusually hate filled words, Razer accepts that as so. Burning with anger of his own, he doesn't see the chance to needle Sinestro in the slightest. Shooting at the offending alien like a rocket, Razer allows his newfound power to flow through him. He's unused to dealing with so much raw power...normally, his power is connected to his own emotions, something he can control to an extent. The unthinking rage the humans below him feel...it's beyond him, and intoxicating to a great degree.

This was an enemey that she doubted that she would be able to face. As Raven floated in the air, she became aware of another presence. “Raven, what’s going on?” Turning, the teenager looked at Kara, someone who she had just met at the gathering of Teen Titans. “I saw on the computers and thought that you might need help, I just don’t know how to get a hold of you.”
Keeping her attention on Kara and the alien, Raven's indigo eyes flickered between the two as she focused her empathy powers so she could keep her attention on both of them. "The city appears to be under some kind of spell making them angry. This being is most likely to be the cause." |
[/b] Raven warned, still watching the two, ready to send her soul-self out to attack if the alien raised her powers. The empath was concentrating on the two beings with such intent that she did not notice Sinestro until he was upon them and feeling anger. Why did yet another person have to feel that emotion? “You,” Then again, Raven did suppose the Sinestro did have a good reason to be feeling the rage he felt at the woman. “Kara, Raven- you need to keep back, she is extremely dangerous.” The Titan looked at Sinestro and then at the woman, remembering the attack that had happened. "Yeah, not going to happen. This is my home and I am capable of defending it."[/b] Raven replied, her voice calm as she attempted to filter out the rage and anger that she felt coming from all around her. It was possibly a dangerous situation for her to be in but if she didn't intervene then it might last for longer or maybe even not be rectified. Her mind flickered back briefly to Razer, whom she had left behind in the Tower. With the swarm of emotions around her she had not given much thought to whether or not he would want to join in and so had not warned him. Besides, she thought that he might need some time to think, based off what emotions he had been feeling earlier. The Titan thought about what Razer had told her about his situation with Sinestro and wondered if it was for the best that he wasn't here. They didn't seem to have the best of relations. “I’m going to make sure you suffer before I kill you,” Raven looked at Sinestro and then at the woman. The teenager really did not want to have to deal with any deaths. But she doubted this woman would rest until death. Before she could politely request that they would try to knock her out, not kill her, Raven felt another presence arrive and she turned to look at Razer. "Why have you brought me here, Green Lantern. Another instruction? Or are you simply unable to perform your duty without assistance from me?" Her attention was now rapidly divided between the attacker, Kara, Sinestro and Razer as well as the people below them. They were killing each other and there was little that Raven could do. "Raven? I was unaware you had left the tower. What is going on he-" Remaining here she was, Raven looked over at Razer, wondering what had caused his sudden cut off in his sentence. "Sorry I didn't tell you about the situation. I've only just left and there is a lot of anger around."[/b] She said, still keeping her attention on the four people around her while trying to figure out a way to keep the civilians from harming themselves. Frowning, Raven wondered how long she would be able to last against all the anger around her. Usually she was very good at avoiding emotions manipulating her but this was not a normal situation. This was a deadly sin spread throughout an entire city with only... two or three people not feeling it. She couldn't be certain, becoming less able to tell where people were based off their emotions. It was all overshadowed by the anger. "Is....is she the one responsible for this?"Barely any time seemed to have passed before Razer unleashed his attack and the Titan watched for only a split seconds, she was used to having times when a member of the team would leap into the fray without hesitation. They needed to stop the people fighting and they needed to stop the alien witch. In a second, she had decided to see if it was possible to leech some of the emotions away from the immediate crowd to stop them attacking each other. If it wasn't, then she could still focus all her attention of facing the alien attacker which would, with any luck, remove the spell once she was unconcious.[/style] tags:OPEN word count: ??? muse: Various notes: If I've posted too early, just tell me and I will take it down. He was her family and she would help him no matter what happen. Kara floated next to raven as Razer the red lantern flew up, he seemed to be a little angered to the fact that Sinestro called him and that raven didn’t tell him about her leaving. “Sin, what’s going on, who is this lady and why does she want to hurt earth?”
Kara knew that a lot of people hated earth and wanted it blown to pieces but she didn’t understand why. The blonde could feel that something bad was going to happen she just couldn’t put her finger on it. She peered down at the towns people and sighed. She didn’t like seeing people fight but she figured the lady had something to do with it, with that Kara took her gaze back to the lady and watched he every move. This was going to be one long day indeed, at least there was more heroes here then villains.
“Razer nice to see you again, came to help out?” Kara met Razer awhile back when he was with Sinestro she couldn’t help but be thank full that more superheroes were showing up to help. Surely this once to be long fight would be over soon enough. Kara looked at everyone and smiled, but that’s when the word kill sunk in to her brain “wait kill? Why do you want to kill her? can’t you just lock her up somewhere?”

Death watched the humans and other beings as they responded to the threat against the town and began to gather. One, she knew, and didn’t feel was much of a threat. The dark one would have to die for her previous attempts to protect Sinestro- clearly she was an enemy and had aligned herself with the wrong side. The other female, she had never seen before, but that didn’t mean she needed to be terribly concerned. She was human, was she not? A magic user, perhaps. Since she could fly she had to have some kind of power behind her.
Then came the main event- Sinestro had finally arrived. It seemed as though he had brought company with him. Another lantern she had not seen, in a color she was not familiar with. It mattered little- even if he brought ten lanterns they would not be able to compete with her, she didn’t care what color they wore. Sinestro seemed to think he could stop her in green, but that was foolish as well. Yellow, green, red- she would topple them all if it meant finally putting an end to her own torment. Finally getting revenge against Sinestro.
Still, as she observed the group, she felt her thoughts shifting. She knew people cared about Sinestro, and that he seemed to care about them. There had to be something she could do about that.
Something to make them all suffer, as she had, at the hand of the same Sinestro ho had ruined her very existence.
“You will all die this day,” she told them rather blandly, as though it was not to come as any kind of a surprise, “you have made a foolish choice in who you lie your loyalty with. For that, you must be punished as well.”
They were chatting away while the humans around them continued to attack one another ruthlessly. The dark one wanted to stop them, Death could sense some magic being used to tug at their emotions. All the same, she didn’t do anything to stop the younger magic user. She would likely be able to help some of the humans, but there was so many. Could she really control all that emotion? It would keep her busy, for sure, and that was just what Death wanted. Let the less important criminals deal with the humans, and she could focus on Sinestro. Once she figured out his fate, she could return and kill the rest of them as well. None would be left alive.
The red lantern attacked her before she could initiate her battle with Sinestro, sending a massive amount of power her way. It felt as though this beast was empowered by rage. Perhaps a good choice to bring to her little party, then, though it would do little to change the outcome of the day. Several humans launched themselves in front of the attack, letting their bodies be her shield as the attack connected and obliterated their frames. It was enough to expend a lot of the energy from the attack, allowing her to block the rest of it with a barrier spell. Without any indication of emotion, she tilted her head, using more magic to prompt the humans into attacking Kara, Raven and Razer. They sought to do any kind of damage they could, attacking in masses with weapons and their bare hands.
Whatever they could do to hurt the trio.
Meanwhile, she shot forward to attack Sinestro, using her magic to produce a pair of thin, probably extremely sharp swords. She engaged the Green Lantern in battle, swapping blows with him without using her spell to suck away the power of his ring. Let him try his best and fail- that would make it hurt more. But he was a strong warrior- she didn’t think it would be so easy.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] Sinestro growled, watching the witch carefully. The alien didn’t seem to mind the company, and she certainly didn’t seem to mind his arrival. Of course she had been waiting for him- she was after revenge, of course. But things had changed since the first time they had met. Back then, he hadn’t had any reason to entertain her desires. Now, however, he had his own revenge in mind. He wanted to make her pay for trying to hurt his friends. It didn’t matter to him if she tried to go for his own blood. More than one creature had tried and failed to kill him in the past. But he wouldn’t stand back and let her attack the people dear to him. Not to mention all the innocent humans suddenly inclined to rip one another apart thanks to her magic.
Kara was asking why she wanted to hurt earth, and Sinestro sighed. “She isn’t after earth, Kara, she’s after me. That’s why she needs to die- this is my fight to finish.” He knew Kara and probably Raven, at least, wouldn’t understand. But Razer was likely more inclined to know what he was feeling. No doubt his rage was giving the Red Lantern a bit of boost, just like the rest of the anger in the area.
It didn’t matter- he had no time to worry about Razer. There was someone standing right in front of him that he needed to concentrate on.
Since it didn’t look like they were going to be leaving any time soon, Sinestro offered a sigh. Raven wanted to help fight, but he didn’t want her getting killed going against someone with such powerful magic. They both knew what she was capable of, and he knew she would only fall if they ended up going head-to-head again.
He would not lose anyone to this monster.
“Fine, you lot subdue the humans,” Sinestro said, “I imagine the magic on them isn’t very strong- it should be easy to knock them back to their senses. She’s after me, so I doubt she’s going to be putting a lot of effort in her attacks against humanity.” He frowned, looking over at Death. She regarded him with a look that screamed ‘give it your best shot’. He would oblige her- there was no way he was going to let her get away with everything she had done against him. She was dealing with Sinestro! The greatest Green Lantern! There was no way he was going to lose to someone who wanted something as simple as revenge get the better of him.
Nevermind the fact that revenge was the exact same reason he was fighting, too.
He watched as Razer launched into his attack, starting off the real fight with all the tact of a human football player. Sinestro was annoyed that he was butting into a fight he didn’t belong in, but he knew the red energy wouldn’t do much against the female. She was… different from anything he had faced before. Strong. Unpredictable. Her magic spells ranged and he had no idea how to deal with the variety.
“Stay back, Razer- this is my fight. Protect the humans and get them out of the area,” he snarled. There was something different in his voice. It wasn’t the regular snark, but something darker. Like the Sinestro who had once dedicated himself to controlling the universe through fear.
Time for playing nice had come to an end, it seemed. He doubted very much that they would stay out of his fight, and maybe that was a good thing. It was likely that he would end up needing the help, knowing how strong she was.
He just wouldn’t appreciate it.
When she attack him, he met her with a green construct of a scythe, similar to the one he had been toying around with when he had been training Razer. It was enough to help him block the attack coming his way, but he was surprised with how quickly she could move. Maybe he hadn’t expected someone who had trained herself in magic to also be good at hand-to-hand combat. He felt a sword slash across his chest, cutting through his skin like butter.

As he shot towards the alien being, Razer found his plasma attacks absorbed by her mindless thralls, killing several. Snarling even more at her, his rage grew, to the point where the power he generated himself proved much more than the power he lost from the rage-controlled humans' deaths. "You would use the weak to protect yourself? You would make me kill innocents?" Forming his claw constructs, he uses them not to slash through the transfixed humans slowing him down, but pushing them to the side. He's able to keep a surprising amount of control even as his rage builds. It's clear his time on Earth has had an effect on him.
Despite the control he managed to maintain, that was all instinct. The rational part of his mind was all but frothing at the mouth, the rage around him fueling his ring, which influenced him to make him angrier, which continued in a loop to drive most reason from his mind. "Die, die, DIE!" The effect the rage had on him was obvious. The rage energy that formed his suit radiated around him in a visible aura, and the iris and pupil of both his eyes were replaced with a harsh crimson that blotted both of them out. It only started to dim when Sinestro got in front of him, demanding him to stay back.
"How dare you? She made this just as much my fight as yours! I won't...." It was only after he had shot his mouth off, that he had calmed enough to sense the change in Sinestro, both through his words and through his own ring. Rage was building in the purple alien, and he felt much more serious than he had been in the past, when he had been patronizing him.
"...Raven and Kara seem to have that part handled. If you really think that they need help, I will. However...make sure she dies."
Razer had only enough time to fly back a short time before he could hear the slash and feel the flash of rage that signaled the deep cut. And that alone prevented him from following through with what he said. If Sinestro were to die, his power battery would be lost, and he would die without assistance from a fellow Red Lantern or a Blue Lantern. In any case, his power was not well suited to protection. Constructing his sword and shield from his anger, he charged in to the fray, hoping to get in before the witch has time to capitalize on the hit she scored on Sinestro's chest.

The emotions seemed to claw at her very being and it took a lot of effort for the Titan to keep them apart from her. “Sin, what’s going on, who is this lady and why does she want to hurt earth?” Raven looked at Kara and moved slightly to take be slightly between the younger girl and the alien. “She isn’t after earth, Kara, she’s after me. That’s why she needs to die- this is my fight to finish.” Still being protective of Kara, Raven's indigo eyes flickered over the human forms and the enemy.
“You will all die this day,” Looking at Death, Raven's eyes held no emotions and seemed to reflect the anger that was around them. “you have made a foolish choice in who you lie your loyalty with. For that, you must be punished as well.” Raven was prepared to face the alien and she would defend her friends and the Earth as best she could. She would be a dangerous force if needs be. “Fine, you lot subdue the humans,” Raven nodded, that was something that she could do with ease and preferable to having to fight. “I imagine the magic on them isn’t very strong- it should be easy to knock them back to their senses. She’s after me, so I doubt she’s going to be putting a lot of effort in her attacks against humanity.”
It was at that point that Razer had appeared, adding to the rage around and Raven rubbed her temples. A small part of her wanted to let the rage take her, to allow it to fuel her darker side. The soul-self and the demon. But the teenager ignored this nagging thought and focused on letting the emotions pass through her and not cause any influence. “Razer nice to see you again, came to help out?” It didn't take long for Razer to attack and Raven directed her attention towards trying to help the fighting population. Concentrating, the dark Titan tried to absorb the emotions onto herself, but it was futile. There was no way she could do this to the whole city. Already her body was shaking under the emotions.
"Ugh... no more." |
[/b] Raven gasped, withdrawing her attempts to control the crowd. As each second passed by, she felt the urge to attack, to attack anyone. Rage was a dreadful emotion to play with and it was difficult to manipulate. It was a deadly sin, after all. Rising high above the crowd, Raven rose above the other heroes as well. The anger was all around her and it clawed at her shields. It was dangerous and the teenage hero was torn. Her instincts screamed at her to return to Titans Tower, this situation was dangerous for her. But Raven knew she was a hero and it was her duty to help. Then again, there wasn't only anger to deal with, the half-demon felt the emotions of people dying as well. It was like her home was painted in a black and red mist that was clawing out towards her. Looking down, Raven saw Sinestro face the alien with his glowing green scythes and then take a hit. Now was as good a time as any to release the anger that she had absorbed. It didn't really need Raven to think about it. Without thought, the dark soul-self flew forward, a silent caw coming from its mouth as the bird flung forward in a wildless attack that was intent on releasing the anger that Raven had taken upon herself. The teenager could barely guide it to hurt the only enemy in the crowd and was unaware of Razer's attack.[/style] tags:OPEN word count: ??? muse: Sound of Silence notes: None.

Kara wondered what she could to help. Then the blonde remembered how raven was probably over whelmed by the rage and anger around her. The always hopeful, lovable blonde made her way to raven and got as close as raven would let her. Kara closed her eyes and sat cross-legged in the sky. She began thinking about all the happy times she had on earth, the day she met Raven, flowed across the young girls mind, Raven had been so nice to her and taught her many things. Then the memory of Sinestro crossed the girls mind, he was her father figure and she was proud of him, he had gave her the hope for family again, then there was the memory of Razer, sure they didn’t get along at first but they made great friends.
Kara was filled with the love for her family and friends. She was over all happy to be helping even if everyone around them was in a terrible mood. Kara was the one who let happiness bounce off of her like sun rays. The girl wanted to let raven know that she wasn’t alone in a world of hate and that she can’t let the rage get to her. Kara focused on making raven feel the good in life, Kara believed that raven was strong enough to save the humans that were tearing everyone up. "I believe we can save the world raven" . Death was pleased when she felt her sword make contact with her target, cutting deeply into the Green Lantern’s flesh. She knew her spells had made it difficult for him to heal, and that any injury he had gained in their time apart had probably been of some great burden to him. But it wasn’t enough- she wasn’t satisfied with him simply suffering. He needed to pay, truly pay, for the things he had done. All the billions of people he had killed in the past. Some pain was never going to be enough, even if it lingered the full length of his life. But killing him there wasn’t going to be enough, either. She couldn’t let herself get carried away with their fight. As tempting as it was to rip him in two, that would be too easy. Too… unfulfilling.
So it was good that she didn’t have the opportunity to attack again. Though Sinestro had looked ready for more, she may still have gotten ahead of herself in the heat of battle. But before either of them could attack again, Razer joined the fights with constructs of his own, wanting to get his own hits in, no doubt. Was he protecting the Green Lantern? Flying back and away from the Red Lantern, Death looked at him, an emotionless mask observing him with no hint as to what was going on inside her head. “That was a poor decision,” she informed the red lantern, raising her hands to summon another spell. She created a cluster of small orbs of swirling black energy, none larger than a human baseball. They shot towards the red lantern together, though some moved faster than others. One managed to slip away from the rest of the group, connecting with the chest of an unsuspecting human below them. The moment the small ball slammed into his skin, it exploded, sending the suddenly lifeless form bouncing off across the street, until it landed face first against the cement, blood pooling around a largely removed stomach.
And the rest of the orbs were targeted right at Razer.
Since she had been disconnected from her battle, she took a moment to look around. She did not know what the Kryptonian girl was going, but she did not care, either. It was Raven, the girl she had fought before, that she was interested in. It seemed she didn’t have to use any further magic to torture her with- the rage of the wild humans was enough to keep her struggling. They tried to grab hold of the young witch, clawing at her and acting much like zombies and they struggled to get in some kind of an attack against her. But it wasn’t their attacks, Death imagine, that had Raven in such a tizzy- it was their emotion. The artificial rage she had filled them with. While it seemed to be empowering the red lantern, it was draining the young girl. Good. One less being to have to try and deal with when she really only had one target in mind.
And then Raven let out an attack.
Almost sighing, the woman readied herself to block the strange bird, but found the attack had gone a bit wild. Perhaps she could not correctly use her magic when there was so much anger in the air. Whatever the case, the magic went wild, slamming into a nearby building after getting closer to Sinestro and Razer than it had to her. She only had to use a small portion of her power to protect herself from the attack, a small barrier keeping anything from lashing out at her. She then charged forward again, using the distraction of Raven’s magic to make her move against Sinestro once more. Her mind had worked out what needed to happen. Her spell was almost ready. As she had been fighting, she had been working her magics. The rage of the humans had started to lessen, her own body starting to glow an eerie purple light as magic was relocated from one spell to the other. She just needed a little more time.
The only humans that didn't seem to be wavering were the ones collected around Raven and Kara, who were just as angry and eager to hurt people as ever. She kept them away from her new spell, since it was beneficial to keep Raven off her A-game.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,426,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/greenmiddle.png] With a curse, Sinestro pulled back, bringing a hand to his chest. Even the barrier around him had not been enough to stop the blade from slashing into his skin. He should have known- his ring had already proven to be somewhat ineffective against her. Still, it had taken him by surprise that she had been able to get such a clean hit on him, and that the blade had managed to sink so deeply into his skin. It infuriated him to no end, and only made him that much more interested in beating the ever-loving snot out of her.
He readied himself to launch forward, as he knew he didn’t have time to sit back and nurse his wounds, his weapon clutched firmly in hand. But he didn’t get another chance to leap forward and fight with her, at least not right away. Instead, he saw Razer swoop in like some kind of hero, trying to get an attack in while Sinestro had been reeling from the blow. Was he just looking for a chance to take over the battle, or was he actually trying to protect him? Sinestro imagined it had very little to do with him, exactly, and more to do with the lantern he had still possession of. Losing that meant the death of the red lantern, so of course he was going to do what he could to make sure the person keeping it hidden wasn’t killed. Still, the reason mattered little. Just being in the way annoyed Sinestro more.
“Get out of here Razer,” he snapped bitterly, “this isn’t your fight!” maybe he wasn’t acting reasonably, but he didn’t care. He would take this devil of a woman on by himself and he would beat her, or he would never feel like he managed to get his proper revenge.
Thankfully, it seemed Death was just as interested in a fight with him, as she sent a rather dangerous-looking attack at the red lantern. Were he not so driven by his darker emotions, he might have wanted to help protect the boy from the spell, especially after seeing what one little ball had done to a human. However, he was not thinking clearly, and so he let the spell keep Razer busy in the hope that it would grant him another round with Death.
Once again his attempt to charge forward was thwarted, this time by a spell from Raven. So much for having good back up in the fight- suddenly he found himself ducking out of the way of a wild spell from the young demon. It wasn’t her fault, he knew, but that didn’t keep him from shooting her one hell of a glare. “Watch what you’re aiming at!” he snapped. His own emotions probably weren’t help Raven think more clearly, either. He was worked up into a fine little rage over everything that was happening. This team was not working out. Mostly because he wasn’t giving it a chance to- he wasn’t leading anyone. He wasn’t letting anyone lead him. He was just following his own desire for revenge.
Any moment of clarity that might have come from seeing the distressed Raven was tossed out the window when he looked back at Death. She was halfway towards him, her swords already ready to cut more flesh from his body. Growling, he brought up his scythe, blocking the swords and pushing them up and away from him. He then spun the scythe around, slashing it right across her stomach in an almost completely horizontal line. She didn’t flinch, not even a little, as she flipped one of her swords around in her hand and brought it down at him in a stabbing motion. Sinestro snarled, pulling his scythe back and letting it turn into a much shorter, though no less deadly dagger. She brought her sword into his shoulder the same moment he brought his dagger into the side of her ribcage, both of them locked in battle without relent. The force of his will power clashing against her magic shattered windows and cracked the walls of buildings, creating a crater in the ground.
Sinestro wanted to help his friends, but his mind was clouded- he had to kill her, first. Then he could see how Razer was fairing against the spell that had been sent his way, and how Kara and Raven were dealing with the enraged humans.
(Sorry they aren't the stars of the show yet. xD The next round will kill off Death and the REAL fight will be ready to begin. >> )

As Razer tried to attack the witch, he found his efforts to be laughably minor, almost simply shrugged off by his opponent. Perhaps Sinestro was right as he called out to him, telling him to leave them to their battle. It rankled him, but as the general anger of the crowd subsided, he found himself increasingly able to think, and to control himself. It was just in time, too, as if he had been consumed by rage, he wouldn't have noticed the magical ball attacks headed his way, that had so easily destroyed a human. He wasn't quite so fragile as that, but it wasn't something he wanted to test himself.
Flying away from the fight, Razer does very tight turns and weaves to try and avoid the balls, taking potshots at them with his ring. Their small size and speed makes them annoying targets, however, and most of his shots go wide. He does manage to snipe a few out of the sky, but the progress is slow, and it effectively removes him from the fight, as he is too busy avoiding the attack to help out Raven or Sinestro, though the latter would probably be grateful for the lack of interference he provides.
Doubling back to Raven, he continues his evasive maneuvers. He figures that it might be more possible for her to dispell the magic than he is. At the very least, her astral projection is maneuverable, while his blasts travel in straight lines. That alone would help a great deal in eliminating the vexing attack.
"Raven, if you are not too busy, assistance would be appreciated!" Razer calls out, his own rather sardonic take on politeness returning almost as quickly as the rage diminishes. He hasn't seen Kara much in action, but the fact that she is here instead of off in a mall somewhere seems to identify that she has combat skills of her own. A fortunate scenario, since he's too busy to help Raven, and if she's distracted by helping him, no one else would be available to protect the humans. The fact that the anger was having an obvious toll on the half-demon girl was not lost on him, and his attempts to free himself from the infernal things did not lessen. If he could avoid distracting her at all, that would be the best possible scenario.
The mere fact that he was likely playing into the invader's hands was enough to rankle him, but he didn't allow it to turn completely into a burning, empowering hate. He got far more than enough power from the surrounding populace, and while it was easy to fall into a rage, he knew it would be counterproductive. The witch seemed to be able to effectively counter him well, his lack of the same degree of versatility as Sinestro making itself more and more apparent. And as he was bolstered by rage, Raven was weakened by it, and that was something worth taking steps to avoid. He was superfluous in this fight, while Raven was potentially useful. So, keeping himself calm using the meditative techniques Raven taught to him, he focused himself fully on the task at hand.
