Civilian Identity:
A nice guy at heart, T.J. is modest, helpful, compassionate, hard-working and infinitely fair-minded. Uncommonly kind, he has a way of seeing the beauty in others even, and perhaps most especially when they cannot see it in themselves. Above all else T.J. is an eternal optimist, always believing that things will turn out for the better. He believes in the good in others and has a way of bringing out the best in those around him. He is incredibly smart and very sapient in science having recently been accepted to MIT which he will attend next year. T.J. is also deep and even philosophical at times. He loves deep talk. Although he is generally submissive and passive aggressive and doesn’t often stand up for himself, on some occasions T.J can show a surprising amount of spine when necessary. When incensed enough he will stand up to almost anyone, even his father, at which moments he can be surprisingly eloquent. He is a smart-aleck teenager with a lightning fast wit and a sarcastic, dead-pan sense of humor. T.J. is undoubtably a total geek or nerd or whatever word you might choose to describe him. He has a deep love for science, comic books, heroes, reading, music and Star Wars. T.J. also has a bit of bad boy in him under everything else. This is shown in his love for cars and his desire to one day own a motorcycle. As well as his ‘bucket list’ which includes flying, traveling the world, going to space and driving on the Autobahn in Germany and Route 66 respectively. However, this side of him doesn’t often get much of a chance to shine.
Despite being the good person T.J. is, he is not perfect and has his share of problems. He is socially inept, awkward and even somewhat clumsy, especially when around girls. He has never quite been able to understand girls and this has been and always will be a huge hindrance to him. He has trouble sticking up for himself and this usually leads to letting others treat him badly and walk all over him. T.J.’s optimistic views also can be a hindrance to him as they are rather naive and others can use this against him as it makes him easy to trick. T.J. is also probably the absolute worst liar on the planet. T.J. also has a bit of an inferiority complex as he almost always feels inferior to those around him. This is carved into his brain from years of being bullied, living in his older siblings shadows and constantly being told he wasn’t good enough. T.J. does do bad things as well. He gets into arguments with his dad. He drinks with his friends recreationally though he is far from an alcoholic. He has spray painted graffiti with his friend Charlie before. He is even known to get his revenge from time to time. Such as when his friends dined and dashed leaving him alone and with only enough money for himself and he later made them brownies which, unbeknownst to his friends, he had made with a ton of laxatives. He’ll never forget watching them scrambling for the bathroom. In this way, he does have a bit of a dark sense of humor as well.
Blue Lantern Persona: When it comes to being a Blue Lantern, T.J. is filled with hope and pride. He wants to be the best Blue Lantern he can be and shows an inner courage that doesn’t get to shine too often. He is willing to give himself to the Universe and is willing to die as a hero and do whatever he has to do. T.J. is very creative and imaginative. He lives by the statement that there is nothing cool about convention, it’s much more fun to make life your own invention. As such, he is a bit of a ‘unique’ Lantern. You probably won’t see any other Lantern conjure up a Pikachu or a creature of his own imagination or a giant Ronald McDonald. Let’s be honest how freaked would the enemies get if they saw a giant Ronald McDonald swaggering towards them, trolling. Maybe he’ll create a blue light saber to attack his enemies while he quotes Star Wars. He notes similarities between Star Wars and the Lanterns whom he views as the ‘Jedi’s’ of the universe. And he will mention it. He’s a nerd. It’s what he does. The Blue Power Ring makes T.J. feel a lot more confident and he is willing to do a lot of things he would be more hesitant to do without it. However, he still tends to keep a ‘think before you jump’ set of mind and tends to think before he acts and develop plans or strategies rather than just jumping in head first with no idea as to what he’s going to do. Despite this, T.J. is new to the whole hero thing. He is going to make mistakes and he is going to have to learn as he goes along. He hasn’t even performed a heroic deed as Blue Lantern yet as he is just arriving back on earth from Odym.
I am looking for everything and I'm open to ideas so just shoot. He lives in New York City now, but he can go anywhere thanks to the ring, so location isn't much of a problem.
