Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Virgil moved down the street, his hands in his pockets and his pace quick. The light drizzle of rain didn’t seem to deter the young boy, who was walking with purpose as he turned a corner and ventured on a very strict, very planned-out path. No, rain wouldn’t keep him from his destination- absolutely nothing would. Once again, he was playing the tourist, and that meant actually going to places that were popular to tourists. Or at least popular to nerdy tourists who liked to read about super heroes.
He wore a light yellow sweater with blue accents, and worn jeans that looked like they had seen their fair share of use. His sneakers, too, had seen better days, discolored from time and abuse, with frayed, barely tied laces. He had a baseball cap on his head, and a backpack slung over one shoulder, full of things he had picked up on his adventures, along with some food and other needs for the seasoned traveler. Indeed, he was someone who knew how to walk around.
Funny, since he rarely liked to walk when he was at his night job.
But he wasn’t playing the hero that day, at least not right off the bat. Instead, he was venturing towards the famous Daily Planet, hoping to see first- hand where all his favorite news came from. He hoped to see the reporters who wrote the stories about Superman and the others, and the editors who made sure the stories were coherent and accurate. Heck, he even wanted to see the people who took the blurry, mostly useless photos at the scene of the event. They all played such an important part in spreading the word about heroes. Spreading hope. It impressed Static to no end, knowing that there were people willing to put themselves in highly dangerous situations just to be near super hero action.
Even if the stories weren’t always in support of supers, Static was glad that there were papers like the Daily Planet out there to report on the facts. Sometimes, people needed some perspective. Whether they needed hope through a tough time, or they needed to take a step back and stop depending on powers to get them through every incident, it was the media that got the message out.
He was a fan. And he totally wanted to see if he could get some autographs.
Moving up to the impressive building, he started at it for a moment, struck dumb in awe. Though he had been to metropolis more than once, he had never really taken the time to sight-see. Standing in front of the building where all the best stories came from, he found he was extremely happy with his choice to have a nice little road-trip.
Well, flying hover disk trip, anyway.

She had nothing better to do then patrol Metropolis anyway. The young blonde didn’t realize where she was walking until it was to late, she had slammed in to something or someone by the daily planet. Kara looked at the boy she was now on the ground of on the sidewalk in frount the daily planet. Her eyes widen. It was a human, a boy and she probably broke him. “Oh my oh my I’m soo sorry are you ok?” the blonde superhuman stood pulling the boy with her. “Are you broken?” This was the second time she has hit someone who was just minding their own business. The last person she hit was Clint; the two of them were actually friends now.
Kara looked at the boy as he dusted himself off. “My names Kara, I am really sorry for hitting you like that, I have a bad tendency with meeting a lot of my friends that way.” And that was the truth she met everyone in a crazy way. The girl looked down at her Pink sneakers that matched her short black skirt and her hot pink tank top. She was still very worried about this boy she had hit. “are you sure your ok? do you need me to take you to the hospital?” Kara was one of the most loving heroes in metropolis. “I haven’t seen you in metropolis before are you new to town?”

Virgil had been happy to stand there and not actually enter the building forever, but he found he suddenly didn’t have a choice in taking his eyes off the structure. Suddenly, he went from looking at the building to looking at the concrete, someone lying on top of him before scrambling to get them both back to their feet. She was apologizing profusely for her actions, but it wasn’t like he had been made from the get-go. It wasn’t every day he got run over by a pretty girl, so why was he going to complain about it? She pulled him up and asked him if he was okay, the boy a bit stunned before he could find some means to answer her.
“Wow! You’re strong, Kara,” he laughed lightly, “and I’m alright, really! I didn’t even get the wind knocked out of me, so don’t worry about calling an ambulance or anything like that.” He didn’t think, of course, that she meant she would physically take him to the hospital if he had been hurt. Luckily, he was stronger than most humans thanks to his powers, and his healing factor was improving every day, too.
“Thanks though, I really appreciate the concern,” he laughed with a grin, straightening his cap before looking at her again. Tall. Pretty. Young. Yup. Everything that would make him really nervous regularly. But their weird encounter helped him not focus too much on how lady-like she actually was.
“The name’s Virgil! I was just visiting the Daily Planet here. I guess you could call me a tourist- I don’t normally come around here very often. What about you? Is this your home town? Maybe you could tell me where to get a good burger.”

She didn’t eat around metropolis she ate whatever Michael cooked her at home in New York. But then she remembered that there was this thing called Smash Burgers. “Oh yes there is this place around the corner actually, it’s called Smash Burgers.” Kara smiled, today was a good day to make friends. “I can show you if you like?” She knew exactly who would like to hear about her meeting this new friend, and that was her father figure Sinestro, he always asked her about her friends or how her day went, now she could tell him something more than just the normal hero stuff she normally tells him.
Once he agreed Kara smiled her friendly smile that she wore often, she lead him to the store, the building was much smaller than the other buildings around it. The theme of the building was red and white. “Well this is it, I do believe that visitors eat her. I hear it has wonderful food.” with that said the young girl pulled out her bag of gummies that she often kept on her person at all times, even when she was fighting crime she had her bag of gummies stashed away in her costume, only those who knew she had them knew where they were. The young kryptonian had a thing for gummies, it was the first human food she had ever tired and it made her head spin. She looked at the boy. “Want one?”

Static smiled. “Sure! I could use a bite to eat before I venture into the world of journalism.” He couldn’t wait to get in and see all the reporters and how things ticked, but he knew he would be rude if he just told this stranger to take a hike. He had only just met her, after all, and he didn’t want to make enemies where he was supposed to be making friends. In any case, he did feel a little bit hungry. Maybe he did need to get something in his system. And what better than burgers?
He smiled some more and followed as she led the way away from the Daily Planet, Virgil making sure he took note of where they were heading and which way would lead him back to the building he was so eager to see. Not that it didn’t stick out. He was sure he would be able to find it again without much trouble.
In the meantime, he was ready to get his eat on.
“Thanks for showing me! I probably would have been wandering around lost for some time if you hadn’t helped me out,” he laughed, rubbing the back of his neck as he offered her a wide smile. “Are you hungry? We could grab a bite if you want, my treat!” He liked making friends, and she looked like the kind of person that liked making friends as well. So that meant they needed to be friends, right?
Made sense to him.
She offered him a gummy, and he waved a hand. “Nah, thanks though. Gummy candy isn’t really my thing. Anyway, I don’t want to spoil my appetite, right? That’s what my dad would say, anyway.”

Besides she wasn’t going to do anything bad, just walk around with her new friend and avoid Clark at all costs. He wouldn’t like her being there and she knew that.
The two made their way inside and Kara looked around at the building, it was nice and small but open. The young girl was excited she hadn’t been too much places around metropolis. “I like you your cool.” Kara loved having friends; the best thing about Kara was that she wasn’t the type to judge people right away, that was also one of her strong weaknesses, she believed everyone had good in them, so she often liked everyone and that could be dangerous to everyone around her including herself.

Virgil let his jaw drop. Did she really just say what he thought she did? “Y-you can get me a tour?! But they’re always full! I wanted to look inside but there was no way! You can really get me in there?! Wow! Do you work there? Do you know someone who does? That’s amazing!” He wanted her to tell him all about it- he just had to know how she could get him inside such an amazing place without people thinking he was there to ask for a job. They would kick him out before he got through the lobby. But he needed to not completely freak out on her.
That would be bad.
“Really? You think I’m cool?” Virgil could have cried out with glee hearing that- it wasn’t every day someone called him cool when he wasn’t in his superhero outfit. Most of the time, he was just trying not to get shoved into lockers. Hardly something a cool person would have to worry about, he imagined. Oh well. In the whole world there was one person who had said he was cool, and that was all he needed. He got more than enough praise when he was zapping bad guys with his amazing powers, anyway.
“So what do you want to eat? I’ll pay! You can get anything you want- my treat if you’re going to get me into the Daily Planet!” he couldn’t contain his excitement- it felt like his heart was already set to pound right out of his chest. Sure, they probably weren’t going to get to see anyone or really see anything cool, but that didn’t matter. He was going to see something really important to him. He had been content with a glance through a window. Going inside?
It was a dream come true.

She wasn’t sure how to work this thing called ordering from others, she mostly made phone calls or let the person she was with order. Kara looked at the boy and smiled, she wondered what would happen if he ever found out she wasn’t from earth. The young blonde made her way up to the ordering place and began chatting with the nice lady behind the counter. Once the girl made her order she smiled at Virgil, he had seemed like the type of person she would want to hang around, he seemed calm and cool.
The daily planet was a way to repay him for lunch, she was excited, she had only been to the daily planet once, but that was on her first time to metropolis, she knew then sectary quite well, Kara had spent hours talking with her about what it was like to work. The desk lady was one of Kara’s personal friends, but then again everyone was Kara’s personal friend.
The young blonde took her medium sized cup and stood in front of the pop stand, remembering the trip to the mall and how a lot of soda was bad for her she got HiC punch and ice. If there was one drink Kara adored it was juice. "thank you for lunch" Kara adored the way he acted about seeing the daily planet, it seemed to her that, the place was more then a news place to him, that was interesting for her to know, the young girl watched him as he got over existed about the building and its purposes.

Virgil let her order what she wanted, wondering if she had much experience with food places. It looked like she was a little confused at first, though she got into it by the end. She was also very friendly, though he imagined she was just like that with everyone. After all, she was willing to help him out and she didn't even know him yet. That was something he found very refreshing. Being a hero, it always made him happy to see other people being kind to others. Like it wasn't him against the world, because there were other people fighting the good fight in their own ways. It was easy to get sucked into all the chaos and evil and start thinking that was all there was to the planet.
But there was more, and she proved that. So did he.
When she was done, he ordered himself a meal as well, thanking the woman and paying for the both of them. With order in hand, he moved to get himself some cola- never one to pass up the chance for soda. While they were both waiting for their food, he smiled at Kara, feeling his stomach twist just at the thought of going to the Daily Planet without people looking at him funny.
"You're welcome," he said lightly in return, "I'm more than happy to treat you to some food for going to the Daily Planet! I'm really excited. Thank you again." When their food came, he moved with it to one of the tables, seating himself after she sat down just to make sure he didn't accidentally take the seat she wanted to use. Not that most people cared about that kind of thing, but some were more fussy. That was totally fine with him- he just didn't like stepping on people's toes.
He took a bite out of his burger and sighed. "Wow! This is probably the best thing I've had all week. Going to have to remember this place!" For all those dates he would have with ladies.
Yeah. Right.

As she waited for her new friend to finish eating, her mind wondered around listing to the people on the streets and the noises of the animals. As soon as Vergil was done eating they stood up and kara threw away the trash. “Ready to go?” the young blonde saw the excitement in the boys eyes it was nice, she had never seen someone so excited about a newspaper place.
Soon the two of them were walking down the street back to the Daily Planet. She was thinking of a plan and the plan was fool proof. Kara looked up at the big building and smiled. She wondered how long it would take for her to fly around it 40 times, but then she saw the giant gold planet thing and her eyes widen. She never did pay attention to the little things that much. Looking back at Vergil she knew he was excited to see the inside as well. Kara took his hand and lead him through the door.
The inside was amazing, there was people everywhere and not a resting soul in site, well except for that one person who was their waiting and he had nothing better to do then sit there and wait. Kara made her way up to the front desk. “Hello, I’m here to see my cousin Clark, I have important news to tell him about his apartment.” The girl wasn’t lieing, she needed to tell clark about the apartment that she broke and had fixed. The lady nodded and let both of them go, she made a note saying they were in the building. “well Vergil were to first?”

The burger went down too quickly, but he imagined a stomach ache was going to be easy to ignore, considering how much he was going to be looking at once they got into the Daily Planet. He had enjoyed the burger, at least, even if he had eaten it much too quickly. He hoped Kara had liked her food, too. Though he liked to think it was a nice spot for a date, some girls didn't really like fast food. If his new friend wasn't feeling happy, then he imagined dates wouldn't, either. But Kara didn't look like she was disappointed, so Virgil was relieved.
It was a place to keep in mind.
When they were finished, Virgil tossed out what remained of the meal and the wrappings, making sure they left the area clean so as not to piss of the people working there. It wasn't in his mindset to intentionally piss people off. After that, he followed Kara back to the planet, feeling his anticipation mounting.
After letting her deal with the front, and get the fabled visitor pass from her, he found himself at a sudden loss. "So, you're clark's cousin? That's so cool! I've read his articles- he's a really good reporter. Sometimes it's like he's right in the mind of superman when he writes about him! So cool."
He looked around the building, leading Kara to some of the random offices before heading towards the lower levels where the prints were made. "I love seeing the core of these kinds of places," he hummed, "the machinery is always so amazing. Do you want to check it out with me?"

Kara looked at all of the stuff, she didn’t know what half of it was but it was all very amazing, and she was having a wonderful time. The young girl smiled at him, “Yes Clark is my cousin, and he is good at what he does. I wouldn’t know about the mind of superman though, Clark is way to Clark to be superman and superman is to superman to be Clark.” Kara laughed a little, she even confused herself right there with the superman and Clark thing. “Um…What is this stuff here anyway, it’s really cool I just don’t know what it is.” And there it was, Kara’s down side to her Secret identity, Kara still was learning about human things and it showed a lot.
“I know it sounds silly that I don’t know what stuff is, but its just a thing in my past, it made me not know stuff, and well its funny actually.” The young girl smiled and walked around the room, the stuff was amazing and it was all moving so fast. She could keep up with it but she was too lazy at the moment too. She listened to the boy explain the stuff around the room.

Virgil laughed- Kara was a funny girl. It amused him how she thought he had been saying Clark was superman. If he had known that she was actually trying to hide Superman's identity, he probably would have flipped his shit. After all, he idolized Superman. That was the hero he wanted to be, above all others. He didn't know anything about how he was to his family, though, or he might have changed his mind just a little bit. Of course, he had no idea what she was really doing, or anything else concerning Superman for that matter, and just assumed she was being funny. So he smiled.
"Sometimes I wonder if Superman even has a secret identity," he hummed innocently, not having caught on to the suspicious atmosphere in the slightest, "I mean, he's always saving people. Maybe he doesn't have time to try and be normal too, you know? He's totally awesome either way." He wouldn't give up his home life, of course, but maybe Superman had never lived like that. He knew some who didn't have secret identities. Like John from the lanterns.
It was possible he was just Superman all the time, wasn't it?
Following her around the machinery, he smiled. "Hey, don't worry about it- I had to research to find out about this kind of stuff! And even if you don't remember everything, learning is fun, right? I'd be happy to help you out if you ever need help with figuring stuff out!" He smiled and looked at one of the bigger machines, watching the papers pulsing through the massive metal system. "This is a printing press," he said lightly, "it's for printing the stories onto the newspaper. Even though we have newer tech now, this one looks pretty old. I guess if it isn't broken, you don't have to fix it, right?" he laughed lightly, patting the machine. In his excitement, he had let himself get a little too charged up, sending a pulsing through the metal and frying some of the system's programming. It resulted in the machine suddenly shooting newspapers at them.
"Woah!" He yelped, getting smacked in the face with a paper. "ouch!"

But soon he was talking about the thingy mabobs and that made kara’s mind happy. “I would like to be taught more, “once the papers started shooting at them the blonde was quick to react. Her eyes glowed red as she shot at the papers with her heat lasers. PEW PEW PEW. The papers were burned up easily, Kara didn’t know how to fix the thingy so she let it keep shooting papers as she shot lasers and protected Virgil from the papers.
Then she noticed how she shouldn’t have superpowered infrount of him and she began to wonder if he was going to be ok with her being all laser eyed and stuff, but then she remembered his liking of superman, hell she was Supergirl so she should be fine right? “Do you think you can find the plug to the thingy so I don’t burn up all of the papers, They are going to have my butt for this one tonight, please don’t let him find out. Please.” Kara begged the sky, she didn’t want clark to know that she burned up a good 3/4 of the the papers.
