Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

How long had it been since he had been out of his uniform? Away from the thoughts that constantly spammed his brain- the thoughts that spoke in another man's voice? It felt like it had been an eternity since he had started his quest to destroy the light of the Green Lantern Corps. Since he had decided to take on the role of death itself, to save the universe from the curse of breathing. It was a dream job, really. Finally, he got to do what he loved without it being some kind of a crime. Well, okay, so most people still considered it a crime, but there was a greater calling to his antics that justified things. At long last, he had his purpose. Death would come to all.
And he would be the harbinger.
Today, however, he had found himself feeling something very strange- like he was somehow... unhappy. Not with killing and bringing people the peace they didn't even know they longed for, of course, but with something much more minor. He simply... wished to try and figure out why they clung to life so desperately. People. It felt like it had been a long time since he had lived as a normal human, if he had ever truly done so in the first place. Perhaps it was because of the indigo tribe- the compassion they had forced on him for so long. He didn't like what had happened to him, and it certainly hadn't made him feel sorry for any of the glorious things he had done, but it had made him wonder why they seemed to enjoy life.
So he moved down the street in some black pants and a simple button-up gray shirt, trying to blend in with the crowd around him. His ring projected a normal-looking face, rather than the decayed mess he usually sported while wearing the black trinket.
As he moved, he spotted what looked to be an impending accident. An old woman had tripped while crossing the street, and a car was speeding right towards her without the driver any the wiser, it seemed. His ring, powerful as it was, could have easily moved the woman out of the way. It could have stopped the car in its tracks. It could have ended the whole thing without so much as a scratch on anyone involved. Hell, on any of the scenery around them. But he did none of these things, simply watching as so many others standing on the streets. While they looked horrified and like they were waiting for the worst, William smiled.
They cared so much for their own worthless lives that they would not help someone else. The time was there, but the threat was too great for them. Was life really so worth sacrificing someone else? He would make them all see- they would all get to experience the same death the old woman would soon find.
He had been 'normal' long enough. Half an hour was more than enough time to make him feel like he never should have bothered with the silly wonderings in the first place.

Athena had been in D.C. for what mortals called a day off. Her father had told her to 'take time off' because she had appeared to be tired. Truthfully, she had checked her eyes earlier and they were their normal bright green. She was currently wearing an outfit mortals would wear, and she saw to her dismay that she was getting quite a few looks despite her normal appearance. She actually felt discomfort as the eyes of a handful of mortal men fell on her. With a single glare, they immediately turned their gaze somewhere else. She then felt a little better. As she turned a corner, she saw immediately something was wrong. The mortals were all talking loudly and looking at the road. Being 5' 7", she should've been able to see what it was, but there were many people over her height towards the front of their little audience, so she had to work herself through them to see. When she finally did end up in front, Athena saw that they were looking at an elderly woman lying in the path of an oncoming vehicle. Obviously, no one was moving to help her, so Athena acted quickly. She took off the white stilettos she was wearing and ran out into the road using an average human speed. A few people yelled at her to get back, but she was a goddess and she did what she pleased. Thinking fast, she stood in front of the elderly woman, knowing she'd never get her up fast enough to save her. The car came racing down the street and collided with Athena's hand. The car came to an immediate stop and she left a large indent in said vehicle. The driver was obviously shocked beyond belief and he stepped out of the car, afraid. He kept yelling apologies despite Athena's efforts to calm him down. Athena turned and helped the elder get to a sitting position. The woman was obviously bleeding from her head, though nothing too serious. She knelt down and checked the woman's injuries and came to the conclusion that she did have a concussion and a sprained ankle. "Call an ambulance; she has a concussion." She said to the driver who had almost hit the woman. Athena was vaguely aware of the mortals clapping and cheering her good work, though they all looked nervous, probably because she stopped a car in its tracks. She paid them no mind as she stood up straight. Outfit: OutfitWords: 435 Notes:

There was probably only one person in the audience that had gathered who was not happy to see that the old woman had been saved. While everyone cheered and commented on how amazing the hero was, wondering her name and where she came from, William frowned, moving away from the crowd and moving closer to the scene of the accident. Some humans were trying to keep people back, saying that they needed to give the old lady room, but William was not in the mood to heed them. One of the men attempted to step in front of him, making him stop.
"Hey, aren't you listening?" the man said sharply, "I'm a police officer- I'm telling to you stay back." William looked at the man, glaring at him a moment before a wicked sort of smile spread over his face.
"Oh, but that's my friend helping the old lady. Please get out of my way so I can see if she's alright." He put a hand on the man's shoulder, giving him a gentle pat. As he did so, he used his power to drain some of the life force from the officer. Not enough to kill him, oh far from it, but enough to make the man feel a little bit dizzy. Probably like he needed to sit down. As much as he would have liked to see death, he imagined it wouldn't be good for him to start his fun when there was a clearly strong opponent trying to save the lives he wished to end.
Casually, he continued on his way, moving up beside the young woman. "That was very impressive," he said to Athena, his expression cold and almost menacing in some way, "the way you stopped that car with one hand like that. I think there were many of us who couldn't believe what we had just seen. Are you one of those kids related to Superman? Though I suppose you do look older than a teenager, if only a little." He smiled, though even his compliment was slightly creepy. For him, creepy came naturally.
And he enjoyed that.
He looked at the woman, frowning slightly. Yes, it looked like she would live, though considering her age it really couldn't have been much longer anyway. "I have to wonder- why save someone so close to death anyway? I mean, her end is coming soon either way, wouldn't it have been nicer to help her embrace it?"

The clapping was getting annoying. She sighed, trying not to show her annoyance as the elderly woman kept thanking her. "Oh course, m'am. No problem on my part." Athena said, with a fake smile. She looked around and noticed reporters were already coming out of the woodworks. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes. 'So this is why father doesn't like humanity... They can be far too nosy for their own good sometimes.' She thought. It was then that she noticed some speaking with a police officer, but she quickly forgot him when several reporters came up to her, asking questions. "M'am, can you tell me just how you did that?" "Can you smile for the camera?" "Are you connected with the event earlier in the year in New York?" Finally, Athena got sick of the questions and told the she wasn't answering any. Apparently the look on her face scared them off because they just dispersed after she looked at them all. She sighed and rubbed her temples, trying to remain patient. "That was very impressive," A voice sounded beside her she looked over to see the man that had been speaking with the police officer. She raised an eyebrow at his cold expression. "the way you stopped that car with one hand like that. I think there were many of us who couldn't believe what we had just seen. Are you one of those kids related to Superman? Though I suppose you do look older than a teenager, if only a little." His smile at her was absolutely ridiculous. He was apparently trying to unsettle her, which didn't work so well. She was a goddess and she was never unsettled that easily. Her only fears were losing knowledge and being weak. She gave him a more chilling look back, staring him straight in the eyes when he glanced at the elderly women in front of Athena. "I have to wonder- why save someone so close to death anyway? I mean, her end is coming soon either way, wouldn't it have been nicer to help her embrace it?"Athena didn't like this man, she knew that much from his words. "I know she's close to death. Believe me," She said, flashing a smile. "I know. Better have her die some 'peaceful' death in a bed than being flattened by some ignorant mortal who couldn't look where he was driving." She thought about his question before answering. Was she related to Superman? Obviously not; he was mortal, despite his strength and powers. Athena was unaging, undying... perhaps unliving. She was nothing like that Kryptonian. She looked the man beside her in the eye again. "I am nothing like the Kryptonian... You've probably never met anyone like me." Athena said. William had to wonder why she was looking at him so threateningly- wasn't he just trying to have a nice conversation with her? Maybe it was his own smile that had made her react- he had been told before that he looked a bit menacing when he grinned. However, it wasn't intentional. Apparently he had been born to be a creepy man. Good thing his job ended up appropriate, then. All the same, he watched the woman with no change of expression, having no emotion within him to feel threatened by the way she was looking at him.
Being dead, he didn't have much to fear anymore.
When he listened to her answer his question, his eyes lit up a bit. Actually, he rather liked her answer. She hadn't been one of those foolish humans to say 'oh, she doesn't deserve to die!' or 'don't talk that way, it's so freaky!' She actually said that she wanted a more peaceful death for the woman, not that she didn't want her to die. For him, it was something of a small victory. He liked her a lot already.
"I see! That does sound a bit nicer for her, you're right. Let her die with the comfort of her friends and family. Accepting death can be so hard for those who do not understand its glory. I am happy to see you are very considerate of the deaths of those around you! I try to be, too." He didn't mean to say that much, but he had been so excited.
Perhaps she wouldn't think anything of it.
When she spoke again, he tilted his head. How very mysterious of her. But he had fought a great many heroes in his stand against the corps. He was sure he had seen someone like her before- did she think she was so special? That was sweet. Perhaps she would make a very interesting black lantern, if the opportunity presented itself.
"Well, what are you, then?" He asked innocently, "if you're not kryptonian, and you're clearly not human. You don't have to be shy- I've experienced a lot in my... life." And so much more in his afterlife.
