Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Ah, there was nothing better than soaking up the sun with beverage in hand, not a care in the world. Jan lifted her sunglasses up just a centimetre as she check the time on her phone, deciding it was time to roll over on her sun lounger; after all she didn't want an uneven tan now, did she?
Laying down on her front, she readjused the strap on her swimsuit top, before folding her arms under her chin. She sighed, contentedly (or perhaps as content as a socialite heiress could ever be.) Although being an Avenger did have its down sides (the unsociable hours, the bad guys, and not to mention the very slight possibility of death) this most definitely had to be one of the plus points. The gardens at the back of the Avengers Mansion seemed to be a little sun trap his afternoon, and she was not about to miss the opportunity to soak up someof the sunds rays. The gardens weren't overlooked, not noisey or busy in the slightest, almost a private mini Central Park; pure unadulterated peace and quite. A girl could get used to this.
She was in slight disbelief that she had been undisturbed for so long. It was a rarity that she got a moment to herself when she was here, let alone a whole hour. She wasn't complaining though, she supposed she had probably jinxed it now.
She streched out once more, before settling back down, closing her eyes, and beginning to nod off.

Tony hadn't visited the Avengers Mansion. Yeah, he helped design it and funded the building of it, but... well, Stark was a busy man! He didn't have time to play house with the Avengers.
....Okay, so he wasn't that busy. After all, he'd been spending most of his free time designing newer, stronger, and all-around better Iron Man suits. He even had one that he called "The Hulkbuster" in honor of his green-skinned friend. He just... well, Tony was having a hard time adjusting to this whole "team" thing. Yeah, he was a part of the Avengers and yeah he was proud of it.
But... he was also Tony Stark. And Iron Man. And he had a life that didn't involve being shot in the ass by Hawkeye's arrows or bear-hugged by Thor every day. The last Cap had told him, they'd also acquired other members too. There was the lady that called herself Spider Woman, but now there were others? How was Tony supposed to keep up with all of this?
Actually, it was quite easy. He was Tony Stark, after all. So when Jan Van Dyne had joined the Avengers, of course he'd researched the crap out of her. He had to know who was on his team, didn't he?
So yeah, that was the reason he was out here today in the beautiful sunny weather... flying his suit of metal over the rooftop. It was a good thing JARVIS regulated the internal temperature of the suit or Tony would be baking. The Man of Iron had finally decided the Avengers Mansion was worth his time to scope out and the new Avengers were worth his attention to meet.
He found a specially marked landing pad in the back gardens of the mansion, right next to the pool and as soon as he'd hit the concrete the same kind of robot arms that helped him at the tower disconnected Tony from the Iron Man armor. He stepped out, wearing jeans and a band tee shirt, and flipped his phone open distractedly.
"Tony Stark reporting for duty," he quipped lightly, sounding bored and sarcastic rather than upbeat and excited to see anyone.

Bruce had only visited the Mansion one time, but wasn't too interested in being in a house full of people. He preferred his bunk on the Hellicarrier, only because he knew he could of worked properly without anyone disturbing him. Bruce would of rather had the Hulk off the coast, rather than the city's backyard. He was a very cautious man when it came to the Hulk and innocent civilians. Looking at graphs, test tubes and drafts would sometimes get to the good doctor's head, sometimes leading him to the very end of the Hellicarrier to get some air. He loved the views of the ocean, when they were on sea. It calmed his mind and soul, which was a factor that lessened the outbreaks of the Hulk.
Today was the day Bruce Banner would've visited the Avenger's Mansion, to meet their new ally as an Avenger. He needed a break from the Carrier, because of the cabin fever he was receiving. He knew the SHIELD Agents heaved a sigh of relief when he left the Hellicarrier, but the doctor understood their feelings. Having the Hulk on board was a risk to every life within the large aircraft/carrier. Bruce's eyes scanned the beautiful big apple from a very good scenic view, from a helicopter. Before he could look anymore, the helicopter began its landing upon the helipad. The exterior of the Mansion looked the same as last time, knowing very well it wasn't ever going to change. The Mansion had a very Victorian like exterior setting, which looked like a building within the city of Gotham.
The pilot tried hard in landing the aircraft as smooth as possible, for the sake of Bruce. Thank goodness he kept his meds with him, just in case he would've needed to stay calm. The Avenger's Mansion was like a vacation to him, a much needed break after all the work he was putting towards controlling his other side. Bruce stepped foot onto the tarmac of the landing pad, quickly running away from the helicopter's propellers. He made his way towards the door entering the mansion, with a scan of his finger. Bruce walked in to spot Tony Stark and a woman present. The doctor wanted to kick the ground out of irritation, but he knew he needed to keep his anger locked away.
Bruce walked over to Stark, very relieved to see his science buddy. "Mr. Stark, what a great surprise" he spoke as he placed a hand on the man's shoulder. Bruce had no clue Stark would've been presentr=, because the last time he'd visited the mansion, he was no where to be seen. Tony Stark was a busy man like himself, but managed to combine business and pleasure. Stark was the only Avenger he actually trusted and liked, because of their similar intelligent minds. Bruce turned to at Janet, knowing very well that this was the new Avenger. He smiled widely at Van Dyne's beautiful appearance making him speechless and a loss for words. Having time to herself was not something that Natasha was overly accustomed to, having been a SHIELD agent for a number of years now. And between being a member of SHIELD and the team known as the Avengers, there was even less time for her to be concerned with. But the building of the mansion had been done in order to give them all some place to return to when their missions were over, a central point in which they could gather to discuss whatever missions they would soon embark on together in order to keep the world safe. And it was here that Natasha found herself, knowing that only she and Janet were inside the house to enjoy the sunshine and warmth that they had been gifted with. At least, as far as she had known when last she ventured into the mansion...
She stood now in the room that had been assigned for her personal belongings, running a brush through her auburn locks for a moment as she looked at her reflection in consideration. Many a time she had looked at that same face in the mirror, but it was only now that she was really giving any thought to what it was that she really saw lurking behind the bright blue of her eyes. In all that had happened since the events of New York, she found herself unable to sleep properly at night, unable to communicate effectively with those whom she had worked so closely during that time. Not even when they tried to speak with her did Natasha feel as if things could return to the "normal" they had previously been. In fact, absolutely nothing that she did felt like it would ever allow her to return to the way in which her life had been before the Avengers had formed and Loki had gotten inside her head. She was still combating that, regardless of what she says.
Sighing softly, Natasha gave her head a small shake and moved back to the bed, pulling on her jean shorts and grabbing the towel she had placed next to them before she headed for the door. Janet was downstairs by the pool, she knew that already from the time she had spent in the house. With a pair of sunglasses pressed over her face, Natasha descended the staircase and headed for the yard, hoping that perhaps the outdoors might bring a little more peace to her soul for just a moment. She wasn't expecting the company that they had, but the moment she saw who else had arrived at the mansion, she was rather grateful for the foresight she had shown in wearing her shorts. Stark was sure to make some kind of comment regardless, as was his way. But Bruce? Sometimes Natasha couldn't be sure in how the scientist saw her at all...
"Mr. Stark," she nodded, throwing her towel onto the chair beside Janet. "Dr. Banner."

WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , --------------------------------------------------------------------- Though she wouldn’t openly admit it, Jen missed her hometown of Los Angeles, California. Everything about the West Coast reminded her of the life she once had, the life she could have had. It was bittersweet rather than depressing. Perhaps she might have felt different had she not returned for school but the city was home to a vast array of emotions she had experienced throughout her life. She missed shopping along Sunset Strip, the Venice Beach boardwalk, and the home she had spent ten years in with her parents. Most of all she missed the sun. Since she left Los Angeles, right around the time she became She-Hulk, the sun seemed to be sucked out of her life. Maybe she was just spending too much time in the northeast. Jen had a knack for keeping herself busy. She moved to New York to accept her position at the law firm that was helping her rise to the top of her game but she hadn’t expected to pick up a side job as well. When she wasn’t defending wrongly accused citizens - human, mutant, or otherwise - in the court room or maintaining her stirling reputation in the media, Jen was playing superhero with a group of mutants, superhumans, billionaire scientists, and a god. She had been at it for just a few months now but she was still far off from feeling a sense of familiarity. At least she had her cousin, Doctor Bruce Banner, there. He was the reason she accepted the invitation to join the Avengers after all. Well, that and the fact that Agent Nick Fury promised to reveal her identity as She-Hulk to the world if she declined. Nothing like a little black mail to get things rolling. She had had a busy day and her patience was wearing thing due to the lack of caffeine and sleep she had had the past few days. From nearly losing a high profile case to being harassed by the media, Jen simply wasn’t having a great day. She was almost on her way home when she remembered that her presence had been requested at the Avengers Mansion to make nice with the new addition to the team. The Mansion wasn’t a place Jen often went despite having her own living quarters on the premises. There was something about living in a house with a handful of people that were trained and able to kill at the drop of a dime that left her with a bit of unease. She would have rather spent the night in the slums with all the criminals she had put behind bars. The attorney was feeling less social than usual but she told the driver the address and off they went. When she arrived at the Mansion she was less than thrilled to find that their meeting was taking place outside. She had rather hoped for the boardroom and all the coffee that came with it. Jen made her way through the Mansion and exited through the back door. She stepped out into the sun and the warmth actually felt rather nice on her skin. But she wasn’t dressed for a play date by the pool. Jen was dressed in the Saint Laurent skirt suit she had worn to work that day. The suit had been one of the many new expensive gifts she spoiled herself with after landing the new job. She glanced around at the attendees present thus far. After taking a deep breath she made her way to stand near Bruce. ”What a shame I didn’t bring my bikini.”

"Yeah, it is, isn't it?" Tony replied to Banner with a grin, shaking his hand. "How's the condition, Banner? Wrecked any more aircraft lately?" He teased, wrapping an arm around Banner's shoulders.
He pocketed his phone as Natasha came out to join them. Tony raised an eyebrow at her. "If I'd realized just what I was missing out on I might have come here sooner." He grinned at Natasha and gave her a wink just because he knew it would piss her off.
"So this is where you guys spend your off days, huh? It's nice. Well, of course it's nice. I designed it. Not as cool as my house in Malibu, I think. But it's on its way."
Tony was distracted for a moment, checking out the pool and the outside of the mansion, and didn't see Jennifer walk up until she spoke.
”What a shame, I didn't bring my bikini.”
Tony's grin widened as he took in the new person. "...What a shame indeed," he commented lowly, then turned toward her. "Hi. I'm Tony Stark. And you must be Jennifer Walters. Bruce has told me so much! Actually, that's a lie. He hasn't said squat. But I'd love to learn about you. How about we discuss it over some coffee sometime? Irish style. My treat."

Sigh, and the moment of peace was gone. C'est la vie.
Jan half opened one grudging eye before turning round and sitting up straighter so that she could be part of the group. She was all too aware that she was the baby of the bunch and the new girl. She was always one to fit in though, no matter how eclectic the crowd.
She caught Natasha's gaze and rolled her eyes in Tony's direction as he started to make moves on Jennifer. Did he never learn? She could turn all big, and green, and mad if he pushed the wrong buttons, so why was he pushing his luck? Whilst she wouldn't want Jennifer to go all She-Hulk on Tony's ass, she would probably laugh just a little if that did happen though. That, and hand out popcorn.
She stood, and walked towards Jennifer, linking her arm as she reached her. 'I have spare swinsuits upstairs if you want to borrow one?' she asked. Then Jennifer could join the cool crowd on the sun loungers, and the boys could get on with... well, being boys. She glanced over at the good Doctor Banner. 'Bruce, I don't think any of my bikini's would suit you though. I'm sorry,' she said playfully, hoping that he had a sense of humour. She most certainly did not want him turning all big and green on her. Having Jennifer turn She-Hulk on Tony would be humorous, but it would be seriously uncool if Bruce Hulked out on her.

Whenever he was at the gym, there was nothing that could faze his attention. He would beat the bag for hours, and on rare occasions lift weights until he spewed vomit. Steve was fully committed on bettering himself, ever since the aftermath of the Chitauri Invasion. People looked up to him as their savior, their hero. He was motivated on defending every human-being with his life.
Captain Rogers thankfully managed to catch a shower, before he left the barracks. He refused to meet with everyone all smelly, and sweaty. Steve finally spotted the Mansion's gates from afar, making him reveal a thankful grin. He flipped open his pocket watch, and glanced down quickly. With only being fifteen minutes late, he realized that he actually wasn't as late as he'd expected. Rogers pulled up to front of the gate on his 1942 Harley Davidson WLA Liberator. A beam of blue light began scanning his body and the bike, "Access Granted" a voice had spoken. Steve was still very intrigued by the enhancement of technology, but still preferred his old fashioned methods. People usually wore their time on a band, but he stuck with his handy pocket watch.
Steve parked his hog in the large garage, right next to a few of Tony's exotic automobiles. He hurried towards the inside of the Mansion, hoping he would spot a few familiar faces. The boardroom was completely vacant, making his mouth go slightly agape. He could of sworn he heard Jiminy Cricket. "Hmm... AM I the first to arrive?" he asked himself as he looked around, trying to find a source of life. Steve quickly turned around to hear a few voices from outside. He revealed a small grin, as he made his way out of the Mansion from the backdoor. There were lots of the Avengers present, including a few new faces. Steve walked over to their location by the pool, "Greetings gentlemen" he exclaimed as he placed himself between Mr. Stark and Dr. Banner. "Ladies" he added with a small nod.

Bruce adjusted his sunglasses with a finger, trying to keep his eyes away from the blazing sun. He was happy to see that Nat had managed to find her way, even though the awkwardness was still hovering over them ever since their little chat on the Hellicarrier. Nat was a woman he had a mild crush on, even when working with her during the antebellum of the Chitauri Invasion. The crush was nothing more than a crush, and at the end of the day they were only colleagues, nothing more. Bruce was happy to have her on the team, because she was a very capable woman. "Miss Romanov always a pleasure" he spoke as he grabbed her hand and kissed it. Janet was still a mystery, but Banner trusted Fury's moves with the Avengers. Bruce had a hard time in trusting Nick Fury from the time he'd first entered the Helicarrier. He didn't know whether Fury was on the long list of assholes, who were after his other side. The theory was soon diminished.
Bruce immediately spotted his cousin, making him reveal a wide grin. He was very ecstatic that she decided to join the Avengers, making him the happiest man alive. She was able to control her other side very easily, making her a valuable asset to the Avengers Organization. "I'm glad you came" he exclaimed as he placed a hand on her shoulder.
He snickered at Tony's sarcasm, even though it was true. Hulk did manage to wreck the aircraft, after another failed attempt at a cure. AGAIN. The second time wasn't as bad as the first, though there were a few serious injuries. Thankfully, Spiderwoman was able to calm the Hulk down, before the aircraft could take a nosedive. "The smashing condition is doing alright, thank you for asking" he responded. ”What a shame, I didn't bring my bikini.” Bruce knew Tony had caught her words, making him turn his head with a small grin. He then folded his arms attempting to introduce the two, but Stark was there to jump the gun. He rolled his eyes at Stark's statement, continuing to smile. "Don't lie Tony, I talk about her all the time... You just listen to things you want to hear" he spoke with a slight raise of his eyebrows.
Jan was there to fix the bikini situation, knowing very well that Stark was going to have one hell of a day. Her comment made the good doctor laugh out loud, "I think the one your wearing now would suit me, so how about you take it off and give it here?" he asked sarcastically with a little wink. Jan was humorous as well, making Bruce like her even more. He only wished Nat would've lightened up, and placed herself in a bikini as well, but he knew that wasn't going to happen.
The mood enlightened even more, when the cap arrived. Bruce patted the patriotic hero on the back, and revealed a small grin. "Captain Rogers, always good to see you" he said. There were still a few Avengers missing, but hopefully they would've arrived shortly. "So now that a large portion of us are gathered here, was this a call for business or pleasure?" he asked . WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , --------------------------------------------------------------------- The mansion was beautiful, even if it did house a dozen or so people superheroes - or whatever they were called nowadays. Jen had a lot of trouble accepting the title. She had first heard a client refer to some of her colleague as heroes and quickly tried to dispel the positive connotation. When her argument came up a few valid points short, she was forced to agree that those people in the funny clothes that were keeping the city safe, yes, yes there were superheroes. That meant that she, too, was a hero and that wasn’t a title she was ready to add to the nameplate on her desk. Once she stood next to Bruce she was able to take a look around the extensive grounds. Mister Stark had outdone himself with the creation of the place. She wasn’t lost in her thoughts for too long until Bruce’s hand on her shoulder brought her attention back to the men and women around her. Jen shot an attempt at a smile in her cousin’s direction. It seemed like a cruel reversal of events, seeing Bruce comfortable in such a social situation whereas all she wanted to do was run away. Had these people been coworkers, clients, or friends that didn’t know her secret, all would have been well and good. She would’ve been able to kick her feet up with a martini and puff on a cigar. But the only people in the entire world that knew about her gamma ray infection were standing around her. She had never felt so vulnerable in her life. The ever so familiar voice of Tony Stark grabbed her attention and she turned to face him. ”Ah, yes, Mr. Stark. Your reputation precedes you.” She bowed her head slightly in a form of acknowledgment. ”I do have to admit that I love nothing more than coffee and whiskey but I think we’ll have more than enough time to get to know each other on the Hellicarrier.” The last thing she needed was to be parading around town with Tony Stark. The media would eat that one right up. Jen was suddenly regretting not heading home for an early slumber. She was saved - though hardly - when the younger girl linked her arm. ”That’s very kind of you, Janet, I presume? I mustn’t stay long anyway. Duties at the day job call.” Quick thinking and squeezing out of tight spots had been Jen’s forte. It was one of the many reasons she had become such a great defense attorney. Having a stranger hold onto her arm was quite strange and it made her feel slightly uncomfortable but observing the others led her to believe that these sort of displays of friendship may have been normal. She let out a genuine smirk at Jan’s comment to Bruce. If Jan could make him laugh maybe she wasn’t so bad. The arrival of Steve Rogers had been the best thing to happen yet. Jen was somewhat of a fan and had been looking forward to meeting him in the flesh. But she had to play it cool. Can’t look like a fan girl amongst this sort of crowd. She tossed Bruce a glance almost as if looking to him for clues on how to act. This was entirely new territory for her.

"What can I say? Short attention span," Tony replied to Bruce with a grin. He winked at Jennifer. "You just let me know, Ms. Walters. My door is always open. Well... unless there's a sock on the handle." He laughed. "I'm just joking. I don't bother with socks."
There was someone else to attract his attention... and there sure was a lot to focus on. Tony nodded, agreeing with Bruce. If this chick was offering to lend out her clothes... well, Tony wasn't about to disagree. Then a thought struck him.
"Wait a second. You're that Jan Van-Doohickie. The new recruit, right? The Padawan? Oh, very nice. Great first impression. Hey. I'm Tony Stark." He grinned and held out a hand to shake hers. "I like pina coladas, long walks on the beach, and loose bikini straps. How about you?"

Nat couldn't help herself but smile a little when Bruce took hold of her hand and kissed it gently, an old gesture that she had come to find rather appealing as of late. Being teammates and always watching each other's backs, Natasha had come to regard Bruce Banner as a great friend, despite knowing that her feelings did not match the ones that he felt for her. Regardless however, the two of them had been through quite a bit since the Avengers had formed, and that could not be ignored by either of them when it came to the relationship they shared. "It's always a pleasure, Bruce." Glancing around her, she noticed the arrival of yet another Avenger, one who had come to be known as the She-Hulk and Bruce's cousin Jennifer. Natasha nodded to her in greeting, but made no further move to get to know the girl through verbal speech, as there were other ways in which she would make her observations and decisions about the girl.
The arrival of so many other Avengers was not exactly what Natasha had planned one experiencing when she had chosen to retire to the mansion for a short while, but she accepted it as being inevitable. After all, the name of the house was enough to tell anyone who wandered inside just what to expect beyond the front door. But it was one of those rare times in which Natasha felt that she should have dressed herself a little better, trying her upmost to ignore the wink that came from Tony upon seeing her attire. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes as the sexual innuendos were thrown around in offering, removing the towel that she had draped over her shoulders to finally let her chosen swim suit come into view, letting the towel fall onto a vacant chair beside Janet. Colour wasn't really her thing, unless of course she was undercover...but the black bikini top was one that she had worn only once before, the matching bottoms hidden beneath the jean shorts she had thrown on top before heading outdoors. "Captain Rogers," she nodded.
She folded her arms over her chest lightly as she took a mental note of who had arrived and who had yet to show their face, noticing that Clint was one of the latter. Whether he would arrive or not was beyond her, but Natasha held out slight hope that she wouldn't be forced to endure the whole meeting without a like-minded individual with whom she was familiar. Though she supposed that neither Bruce or Steve were all that different either, except perhaps in her own feelings toward them as colleagues. Though she supposed that wasn't really true either. As much as Tony tended to annoy her with his constant advances and ridiculous ways, Natasha could never lie to herself when it came down to protecting her teammates. Should Tony ever be threatened in a manner that she didn't like, she knew that she would be one of the first ones to respond to the threat in the only way she knew how. Not that she'd ever tell him that...

She rolled her eyes at Bruce. He may be like some sort of super scientist, and he may be the Hulk, but at the end of the day, he was still a man, and they weren't so complicated.
Her mouth almost fell open when the great Captain America joined the group. She knew he was an Avenger, she had known that they would meet, but she hadn't known that... well, he would be as hot. How exactly did he not spend all day staring at himself in the mirror? Yum. She tore her gaze away, it was rude to stare.
She turned back to Jennifer. 'Yep, that's me, the one and only. Sucks that you have to work. You'll have to come out to play some other time?' she suggested, giving her shoulder a squeeze before releasing her arm.
She smirked when Tony made his quip; was this the right time to mention that they had met once before, and that he'd hit on her then? Whilst she appreciated that they both had consumed more than once drink, she almost took it as a slight on her character that he didn't remember her. She didn't let it bother her though, maybe what the tabloids said about him was accurate.
