His favorite color is red and so he wears a lot of it. He also has a favorite hat, which he got from his first job in New York. It’s a brown baseball cap with the restaurant’s logo on it. It doesn’t really have any sentimental value, but he wears it around almost everywhere.

Personality: Richard Parker is a sensitive idealist. He’s very gentle and considerate, but is not very good at dealing with his feelings, which he often bottles up inside, causing him to be moody and even have nervous breakdowns. He likes to keep things interesting; sometimes by creating romances, but he cuts those off before they get very serious. People like him for his soft-spoken, patient and polite nature, but what they don’t know is that he’s very bitter inside from having been hurt so much; he’s very easily influenced by others.
He’s modest and has a good memory, but has always been pretty serious-minded. He has the confidence to form his own opinions and make his own decisions, but sometimes he can be too independent and not accept help when he should. While he’s very reliable, he tends to take on too much responsibility sometimes, which causes him to get stressed out.
He’s a peace-maker, but his philosophy is so eccentric that most actually think quite the opposite. In fact, he’s actually very selfless, basing his actions on what he thinks would be best for others rather than himself. He just has very “interesting” morals, which most people actually don’t agree with. He’s very loyal, or would be if he actually considered someone a friend. He’s not very good at expressing himself verbally, but is a pretty good writer and he’d rather spend time alone than with others anyway.

Powers: Richard Parker has the ability to heal injuries, both others’ and his own. You didn’t hear it from me though, because he won’t tell ANYONE. He usually does it by touching the injury or the thing/person that’s hurt. But he can also will something from a short distance.
And something interesting to be noted is that the stronger his emotions are, the stronger, the healthier people around him become. Whether it is fear or love, it doesn’t matter; they don’t even need to be injured. If he is feeling strong emotions, somehow it enhances anyone/thing nearby.
Weapons: Colt 1911 .45 ACP (yet to be acquired)
Strengths/Abilities:
• Charisma. Richard Parker is funny and polite. He can easily turn arguments into positive discussions and enemies into friends. People naturally trust him, even though he has done his fair share of lying too. Unfortunately, because of his shyness he doesn’t often take advantage of this.
• Cautious; Alert. Richard Parker is very careful and observant. He’s not very impulsive; he wants to do what he feels is right, and acting in the heat of the moment can mean the opposite. He’s constantly keeping an eye on what’s around him and locating potential dangers so that he’ll be prepared for the worst.
• Responsible; Persistent. When Richard Parker makes a promise you can always count on him. He doesn’t give up and is usually quite efficient at fulfilling his responsibilities.
Weaknesses:
• Reactive-Attachment Disorder. Richard Parker is naturally a very shy and reserved person, but he could still easily make friends if he would just open up. However, due to his past and his views of humanity he refuses to let anyone get close. Even when he has a desire to be friends with someone, he finds himself sabotaging the relationship if he feels like he’s getting too attached.
• Weak Stomach. In high school, Richard Parker was the one who passed out the day they dissected frogs in Biology. As much as he wishes he had an iron gut, whenever he senses something unpleasant, unpleasant things happen.

History: Henry Love discovered he had an ability to heal things early in life. He had picked a flower on the way home and being a child simply put it in his pocket. The next day he discovered it browning and withered. He unhappily placed a detached petal where it should have connected to the rest and held it together, wishing it would stay. Maybe if he got some glue? He went looking for some and when he came back he found that it was sticking on its own. But not only that, it was no longer brown and wrinkled. In fact, it looked better than it had on the bush the day before. So he and his scientific mind decided to do some tests. He spent several hours exploring the neighborhood and healing any and every plant he could find. And if they were already healthy, well, he’d just make a little tear in leaf, or break a twig off the bush.
Afterwards, he went home and told his mom about it. Unfortunately, she didn’t believe him, and the consequence for lying was a beating. Actually, that was the consequence for pretty much everything; sometimes even breathing too heavily was considered worthy of punishment. He never brought it up to her again. Or to his father, but then again, he never really got the chance; his dad was a workaholic who always pretended that there wasn’t anything wrong.
However, that night he thought of another idea. Maybe his ability could heal his bruises like it had the flowers. Sure enough, after holding his arm for a few moments, it stopped hurting. The rest of his sore spots did the same. And now that he thought about it, just the week before he’d tripped and skinned a knee. All it had really taken was him cradling it for a moment and then it hadn’t bothered him again. Cool!
The next day at school, he told some classmates about his new skill. True, his mother hadn’t believed him, but kids were different; they loved things like this! They were always reading comic books and pretending they could fly; they would surely share his excitement. But he was wrong. Sure, they would have loved to believe him, but none of them had superpowers, so how could he? They didn’t beat him up, for fear of getting in trouble, but they could do just about everything else. And he deserved it too, they thought, because he was a liar and a joke.
Henry had always been a shy and reserved person, but after that he became unusually solitary. He felt hurt and rejected, and became very lonely very fast, but if everyone he met was going to be so cruel, he didn’t want to be friends with them. Love was a joke.
He became very fond of animals. They would love you or hate you, but it wasn’t ever really personal, so it was impossible for feelings to get hurt. And with his ability to heal, physical injuries weren’t much of a worry either. Then one day, a bird crashed into his window. Luckily, it had only broken its wing, and luckily, he could heal it. Healing it was difficult, as it didn’t understand what he was doing and it was afraid, but he managed it. The moment he let go it took off, and he watched it fly away with pride. It flew across the street, and then, to his horror, it crashed into the windshield of a car! He saw its limp body land on the other side of the street, thankfully out of the road, but its neck had snapped. It was dead. Henry was frozen with shock. And then he had a horrible thought. It was his fault. If he hadn’t healed the bird’s wing, it would have had to stay by his window where it was safe. But he had scared it and given it the means to put distance between them, at the cost of its life. He collapsed into tears. It was then that he vowed to never use his power again. He didn’t want to unintentionally harm others more than they already were. It’d be best to just not get involved.
The summer before his junior year in high school, his family moved to a different town. That meant that here he would be rid of his reputation as a liar. Time hadn’t freed him from his classmates’ mockery; whenever one had started to forget why they picked on him, someone else would remind them. But now he had a clean slate. And he wouldn’t make the same mistake again. He made “friends,” but they were really more of acquaintances. He didn’t want to get too close. After all, he knew from experience that it wouldn’t take much for them to turn on him. So it’d be better if he didn’t get emotionally attached.
His mother still beat him, but he had vowed not to use his power… at all. So he involved himself in sports. Not only did he enjoy them, but they distracted him from his troubles, allowed him avoid spending more time at home, and gave him a scapegoat to blame his bruises on.
In high school Henry learned a lot about the world… and the people in it. He was astounded in history class when he learned about all the massacres, wars, assassinations, sacrifices, murders, and even cannibalism! While he’d always been mistreated, he had still had a hope in his heart for humanity, that they really were decent, loving people. But this was too much. Were humans really that cruel all over the world? Even hundreds of years ago? Something had to be done about it all.
Then he had an epiphany. That bird that he’d healed so many years ago, that he’d indirectly killed, well, it was lucky. It had escaped this world full of cruel, cruel people. It had died quickly, without its pain being drawn-out. It didn’t have to suffer anymore. He’d done it a favor. Accidentally, true, but still, it was better off now. If only all the humans could just die quick and painlessly like the bird, then no one would have to suffer at the hands of those who should be friends. No more sadness and no more pain. But it was just a hopeless fantasy; it could never happen. Or could it?
Henry had grown up in a small town, but now in this new town, he heard of them: superheroes. There were other people in the world (right here in the U.S. even!) who had strange abilities like his. And people LOVED them. But how? Apparently, they’d “saved” the world in various ways. Well, they could do some amazing things, and they wanted to help people. Maybe if he talked to them, they could help him save everybody! Save them from each other. Yes, that’d be… wonderful. He could see it now. He had to talk to them somehow. Did ALL of them really live in New York? Oh well. He started saving up his money and making plans to move there after he turned 18. As it turns out, he wasn’t able to leave until he was 19, for various reasons such as a lack of transportation (very important), but he finally managed to scrape up enough money for the move and then he went. But he still had to meet these heroes somehow. Even one would be nice. But how?
Now you’ve probably been wondering: “Who is Henry Love? I thought the character’s name was Richard Parker!” Well, here’s the deal: When Henry left home for New York, he decided to give himself a new name. Like I said before, Love was a joke. Wouldn’t it be nice to just start all over, to just abandon all the hard times? So what would he call himself then? Well, while in high school he’d read a book called Life of Pi. It was his favorite. In it, there was a tiger named Richard Parker. Richard Parker was a killer, but by being so, saved Pi. Not only his life, but from loneliness too. Henry was going to kill people, but save them from suffering by doing so. Not to mention, Richard Parker was also the name of several people who were cannibalized. Henry wasn’t planning on getting eaten (that’d be crazy!), but it reminded him of the horrible things people do to each other. It reminded him of his responsibility to save them from hurting each other. He didn’t realize it, but Richard Parker is also the name of Peter Parker’s (a.k.a. Spiderman) dad. So Richard Parker he became.
After he’d been living in New York for four years he still hadn’t managed to get in touch with any of the superheroes. What a nightmare! Why were superheroes so hard to get a hold of? Then the worlds came together.
