The train slowly stopped at the Smallville station. Clark couldn’t help but smile as he took a deep breath of the Kansas summer air. After taking his suitcase down from the traveling compartment the last male survivor of Earth Two made his way to the exit of the train smiling and saying hello the whole way.
There was nothing like small town America. Kal-L had seen distant civilizations on far away planets, and even from different dimensions, and yet he rarely found anything like the idyllic setting of Smallville, U.S.A. After tipping his hat a few more times towards some people who were waiting at the station, Clark began walking the sidewalks of the town.
The partially silver haired Kryptonian didn’t know exactly where the Kent house was on this planet. But he was fairly certain it wouldn’t take long to find. After making his way to one of Smalltown’s many dinners, Kal-L was able to get people talking, and found out where the Kent farm well eating a piece of apple pie.
After a short trip in the air Kal-L was walking down the dirt path that lead too an old 19th century farmhouse that had been updated with all the modern convinces of today. As he made his way towards the front porch he was suddenly addressed by and older man and woman who walked outside, the squeaking screen door shutting a few times before they were standing in front of him.
“Can we help you with something son?” The older male asked curiously as his wife stood solidly by him.
“Yes, as a matter of fact sir. Now I know this maybe hard to believe, but my name is Clark Kent.” Kal-L began as he removed his hat from his head well in front of the woman. “And if I’m not mistaken you two are named Jonathan and Martha?”
The couple looked at each other for a few seconds before the woman spoke up giving Kal-L a very questioning look.
“Why, yes we are. You say your name is Clark? Our son’s name is Clark as well.”
“That’s a good thing ma’am. You see I need to speak to your son.”
Johnthan then quickly spoke up as both he and his wife continued to stare with questioning glances. “Just what are you playing at pal?”
Kal-L smiled softly but then decided that instead of trying to explain himself it maybe simply easier to show them. Kal then slowly rose into the air about five feet, and then slowly unbuttoned his white dress shirt showing the S underneath it as he slowly made his way back down to the ground.
“Well the truth is Mr. Kent is that I am the Clark Kent from an alternate universe, and I’m wondering if you could get your son to come for a visit. We all have a lot to talk about.” Kal said with a smile.
