Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

[atrb=border,0,true]So Cut Out The Heart And Watch the World Burn Down
Strike at the heart. Yes, that would surely grab their attention. Loki had already talked with Stark. But what of the others? What of the members that he had yet to meet. Surely they had but recruited all they could for their little gang of heroes. The last attack had just been for show. The Chitauri all of it. Like he had told Stark. It was but a hollow victory. The real games were but beginning. But First Loki needed to find the location of the scepter. It was a key item in all of this. The Scepter was a direct link to but a fraction of the Cosmic Cube's power. An with that He would be able to find just where exactly they had placed the Tesseract. If it was but where Loki had predicted the All-Father would place it then he would be almost perfectly set up for the next stage.
If any living mortal on earth would know about location of the Scepter, It was one of the Avengers. Even if he had to hunt them down one, by one. Loki would find it. Stealing away was simple, It was just a seamless repeat of not only the short moment during Thor's exile but the infiltration of the auction in Germany. Loki knew how to nip and tear at them all. He knows this because Loki watched, listened, learned of their ways and habits. He could play them all at each other. To but orchestrate the greatest of outcomes for his own ends. He knows how the solider from the past distances himself from the modern world. How he destroys punching bag after punching bag until he wears himself tired enough to sleep through the loud city noises. How, even after all that work, he still sleeps fitfully. How he tosses and turns from nightmares of needles and pain and freezing cold. How he takes out his old and battered compass and stares at an old and faded picture of a love that couldn't be.
He knows how the scientist, Banner, cautiously approaches everything and everyone. How he wrings his wrists raw from the effort to breathe calmly. How he sometimes takes out a box of news clippings and articles of green monsters and destruction to remind himself to never lose control. How he flinches at a friendly hand. How he puts a gun to his head every night and contemplates pulling the trigger. How he knows it will never work but wishes that one day it will. Of Stark, how the billionaire genius pushes everyone away with rash comments. How he drowns himself in his drinks to keep the nightmares at bay. How he purposefully damages any chances he has to be friends with his team. How he looks longingly when the others laugh and joke without him but continues to push them away. How he sits in front of the mirror and just stares at his glowing heart and wonders of it's all worth it. How he takes every harsh judgment of his childhood hero to heart and it hurts.
Loki knows how the assassin trusts know one. How she constantly searches for some sign of threat from her team. How she watches every movement, her fingers tight on the hilt of her knife. How she lies awake for hours until she knows everyone is asleep before she can calm down. How she never misses a chance to exploit a weakness. How she keeps her own deep in a heart she hopes she still has. How she dances just out of reach of the hawk she secretly yearns for. It is but a Weakness, and that it scares her. He knows how the archer watches more keenly than the assassin. How he plays with the edge of the roof with his foot. How he swoops down to land beside the spider but gets caught in a web of mistrust. How he fought and fought to keep his own mind in a battle of wills against a god. How he jokes and laughs to keep everyone sane when he finally gains control. How inside he wants to cry and kneel and beg forgiveness.
He knows how his not-brother watches his fellow warriors. How he knows what Loki knows. How he chooses to ignore it all in the bright hours of the day. How he drifts past each room at night and listens to silent screams and painful dreams. How he apologizes each and every day behind his loud voice and bright smiles. How he wishes there was something, anything, he could do to help. He knows them all so very well. They are his greatest foes and Loki is but theirs. The God of Chaos easily stalks through the building like a Phantom. Crisp suit, magic shrouded around him to bend his presence to non-existence to the security systems. Loki knows this will only work once. An to make it count. They will but change the way their security measures detect. No doubt some of the equipment was having complications from the interference he was throwing off. Loki was unsure If The Thunderer was even present. If he was, He would know.
Loki paid no heed to any one, other then the way word glances he surmised from those mortals who were unsure.

Bruce felt weird being in a mansion like this, he had been on the run for so long the fact that he was now in a home something that he didn’t feel like; it was not that he had been out of place but when you had been living as rough as Bruce had been it was not something that he had been used to, he had been working to heal people and the sick in the third world countries where there wasn’t even some running water that you could use to shower near you, so to have an on suite bathroom it was certainly something that he hadn’t thought that he would have had for a long time. Being a part of the avengers was something that he had been wary of due to the fact that he didn’t tend to trust other people but it had been interesting he had been able to work beside them for the most part but he still felt that there was some tension within the team.
He knew the fact that he was the hulk would have mixed emotions. He had seen it since he had changed into the hulk for the first time some people feared him, what he could do the fact that the hulk was someone that didn’t care who he hurt of course Bruce did but that monster didn’t and that was something that he hated the fact that the hulk could hurt someone that he cared for and wouldn’t even hesitate. Yet now there was a difference the people that had seen the hulk alongside the other heroes and doing the right thing also saw him as a hero due to the fact that he had helped stop the alien invasion that had been orchestrated by Loki. Even the adopted brother of Thor probably saw him in a different way now, he had seen everything beneath him and had a level of arrogance about him, yet when he had fought Hulk, Hulk had been able to completely physically dominate the other man. Not that he had really wanted to kill anyone but he had been protecting his planet so he would begrudge the actions of the hulk right now.
They had been able to part Loki from the sceptre that had given the man the power and they had put it in the hellcarrier it had been a good plan Bruce had to admit because of the fact having it around the avengers might not have been the best idea as he had been tempted by the sceptre himself and he had picked it up before he had even know that he had been touching it. He was currently sitting in the kitchen reading the paper whilst drinking coffee.

Wade was off on a job, didn't know what it was exactly, didn't know when he'd be back, and her roommate well Danii wasn't sure what it was the girl did. The blonde felt she really should make it a point to ask her eventually, it wasn't that she was worried about what could happen to Starfire, it was more that she was worried about what Starfire would do to everyone else, and accidentally at that.
But the apartment was empty, and deep down, Danii really didn't like the quiet loneliness, but she didn't feel like taking up another mission, something that would no doubt happen the moment she set foot on the Helicarrier. Eventually Danii decided that she hadn't been spending nearly enough time with her favorite mismatched group of heroes and took the drive down to the Mansion. Her life had taken a turn for the strange, busy busy and always busy but even then she felt bad for not spending much time with the people that she had come to consider such good friends.
In retrospect, she should have actually made sure someone was around and not in some other part of the universe, as the case could always be. Luckily, she wasn't the only one there and so spent a while making everyone food and then shoving it down their throats. Except for Thor, Danii swore she almost lost a finger with the way that man ate, she couldn't make burgers fast enough where he was concerned. It was a pretty good night in her mind, if just a little awkward to be around Steve, but she was sure those particular feelings were one sided, and easy enough to ignore with the help of a few jager bombs.
Which was why she was here now, the blonde had just enough to drink that she wasn't comfortable driving home and so opted to stay in the small room in the east wing that she had commandeered as hers a while back, just for such occasions. The day had been a pretty good one, the night though, not so much. Danii never did sleep well, always restless, always tossing and turning and waking up in the middle of the night to stare at the ceiling and wonder where she would be right now if she had done things differently with her life. The night was no different, in fact it was just made worse by the sudden and very pronounced loneliness she was feeling.
It was almost oppressive. Wiggling into her shorts Danii slipped out of the room and walked down to the kitchen, pushing her sunglasses onto her face, "Oh hey Bruce," He looked busy, and she didn't want to disturb him, so Danii gave him a soft hello and poured herself a drink, almost frowning into the glass and wondering if there would ever be a time that she didn't need alcohol to get through a night alone. A soft sigh left her, time to try and get back to sleep, walking out of the kitchen Danii turned down the hall and found herself staring at someone that definitely shouldn't have been there.
Split second decision, fight or flight? She teetered on the edge for a moment, "Any reason your droppin' by Loki?" Of course she knew who he was, the blonde had been one of the poor shmucks on the helicarrier that day. Danii was sipping her drink, keep calm, she stepped around him, watching the man closely in the dim light that filtered in. She didn't want to turn her back on him, "Hey Bruce! We have a guest!" The blonde was yelling back into the kitchen, eyes narrowing on the intruder in question. [/style] |

[atrb=border,0,true]So Cut Out The Heart And Watch the World Burn Down
The halls still seemed to be as silent as ever, though his keen hearing picked up on a half attempt at a conversation start. The voice was unfamiliar to him. The name spoken however was not. The name was of Bruce Banner. The Hulk. The man of logical nature that harbored a mindless beast. What was the tale Loki had heard of in the time upon Midgard before. Ah, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. How fitting.
If the tell had not been written decades before hand, Loki would have sworn it was about the man lurking in what ever room it was off some where to the North of the hall. However the Figure approaching was not Banner. But a Woman.
Loki merely tilted his head to the side, like at cat would to watch say a mouse. Be it as prey or toy. One would not be able to truly tell the difference. He Smirked at her question. Curious and Bold, she was. However he had no memory of ever seeing her. This must be one of their newer recruits to the programs. It was however curious, the way she stepped around him. Never placing her back to him for a moment. This was either per-cautionary or an act of blatant fear.
He smirked seemingly to himself as she was behind him now. It was full of malicious intent. Though Loki was well aware of his surrounding and with lighting quick reflexes, he was deadly from any angle. Not to mention the might his magic held as well. Though even it was nothing compared to the power he could access once he held the scepter again.
"Now If I did so wish to start a war Upon my arrival would I have Walked straight passed security? If I wished to cause quarrel I would have but torn the face of the building asunder." He did not move. Though he did let her walk around.
"I have all the reason in the world. Your Dear Directory Fury has something that belongs to me. If It is returned without incident, then I shall not cause one. " He was not Thor. Loki never went purposely Looking for battles. In fact If unneeded ones could be avoided. The Trickster God was more inclined to take that option.
Brains before Brawn.

across the universe, images of broken light, which dance before me like a million eyes. they call me on and on across the universe. thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box, they tumble blindly as they make their way.... nothing's gonna change my world, Lately, Steve had been so busy with Nick Fury going over the usual intelligence and security of S.H.I.E.L.D., not to mention keeping The Avengers in order. The last battle they had together was the alien invasion conducted by Loki, which was an act that had not been forgotten by The Avengers. The fact that a god from Asgard attacked Earth with an army of aliens was appalling to mortal humans, but the human race of innocent people have Captain America as a savior to them and the world that is indeed very much cherished by us all.
The Avengers have been quiet as of late, but Steve realized that when things in S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Avengers were quiet, well, it was too good to be true, because that's when danger always transpired. Steve was out on his motorcycle, even at this hour of the night, because he was still suffering from nostalgia. Seeing how much New York had changed since when he was just a kid from Brooklyn was filling him with mixed emotions on modern day New York. Apart of it was intriguing, because the city looked completely different now. All the buildings and even the famous landmarks looked different to him. The only thing that kept Steve believing that this was still New York was the Statue of Liberty. Besides that, he would feel lost in a city that he no longer reckonized. Steve was very thankful that he had such great friends to help him adjust to the modern era.
The poverty and devastation to the city was the other part of his mixed emotions, witnessing homeless children, women, and men on the streets with no where to go or anyone who cares about them. Steve understood that they too were lost, but he didn't have it nearly as bad as they did, but he was here to help them. Steve was here to protect them, but he also was always the politician in the U.S. government trying to lower the rate of poverty and the economy, but that was a fighting battle that was going to take a long time to conquer. The United States were so much in debt that these homeless individuals and other poor families that Steve saw were the ones suffering the most from it. He could relate to it, since when he was a kid, there was the famous Great Depression.
Steve was just ready to go back to The Avengers mansion where he was calling home for right now. All the other Avengers lived there, so why not join them in staying at the mansion as well, after all, he was the patriotic leader of the team. He pulled up to the front of the mansion, parking his motorcycle, then turned the key, which shut the motorcycle off. Steve let down the kickstand, climbed off the motorcycle, pulled the key out of the ignition, then slipped the key into his pocket. He looked around, seeing that it was quiet and the streets were empty of people at the moment. The breeze was blowing in his face a bit, as he was still thinking of the past, but then he proceeded to enter the mansion. Upon entering inside, Steve could hear two familiar voices. The first was Danii, which put a bright smile on his face. He had such a crush on her, but he had a hard time trying to show her, since he lacked that sort of experience with relationships and romance. He was the total opposite of the womanizer types like Tony, but he was old school with charm and respect toward women.
The other voice made his eyes widen, because the voice was that of the God, Loki. Steve knew that voice well enough, so he wasted no time at all in approaching both Danii and Loki. He was excited and happy to see Danii, but wary toward Loki. "Hello there Danii, nice of you to join us here at the mansion tonight," Steve said to her in a soft polite manor. He turned his attention on Loki, then spoke to him directly. "Loki! Care to tell me why a god such as yourself is here, not to mention a god that not to long ago attacked us with an alien invasion?" Steve spoke fiercely, as he grabbed Danii's hand with a light grip, interlocking his fingers with hers, then guided her behind him, so that he was in front of her to protect her in case Loki was up to no good, which was most likely the case, but gods were odd at times. tag || NAME || words || # # # || outfit || click ! notes || hello. these are notes |

Bruce had been distracted by getting back into the world and trying to determine what had been going on, not that there was a problem with that but it had taken a lot of the avengers time, especially with the fact that now Betty was a hulk also he had been spending time researching the differences within the two hulks and why this could have occurred. He had been able to assess a lot of things that could have been the cause of the difference between the hulk that he had become and the one that been created by Betty, he didn’t know if it was to do with blood type or the fact that he was a man and that she was a woman but they were the differences between the hulks of course he and Betty might have formed the formula in a different order but if she had used the notes that he had made then really there was nothing that could have given him a reason for why there was a difference within their hulks. When Danii entered and said hi he smiled and waved in response as he continued to read the paper, he wasn’t being rude but he was simply distracted and it was something that had meant that he hadn’t even been something that he was looking for guests. When he heard Loki’s voice and Danii’s response the normally calm man from Dayton had put the paper down and he was already on his way out of the kitchen and had gone to the gun that he currently had on his person even though it was in his pocket had been drawn. Walking into the room he noted that Steve was already there but the fact that he was trying to protect Danii.
That was something that he didn’t understand from what he knew Danii was a capable agent and that she wouldn’t have needed protecting yet the way that Steve was standing in the way of her protecting her like she needed defending. Even though he would have done the same for Betty before she had become the female version of the hulk but now that she had been able to defend herself he wouldn’t have treated her like she needed to be protected, as he arrived in the hallway he heard the end of Loki’s comment. Thinking of what Loki said he thought that there could have only been one thing that had been the cause for the return of the other worlder and that was the sceptre that they had taken after his defeat.
”I doubt that it would be returned to you Loki, judging by the amount of damage that you caused the last time it was within your grasp.” he said ”Now the last time that you where in the same room as me I threw you around like a rag doll so I counter offer your proposal in that you leave here and you won’t have your ass handed to you.”

Post by Clint "Hawkeye" Barton on Aug 13, 2012 18:54:37 GMT -5
He had been there since five o'clock that morning, but he hadn't been sure if anyone had noticed. Clint had needed to soend a day at the mansion, gping through the files in the basement, and trying to think up new designs for arrows. Well, rather, finding ways to refine arrows. His variety was getting way too overstocked, and lately he had come to realize that he needed either a bigger, more cumbersome quiver or a smaller variety of arrows. So, he had gone to the archives to see if it would provide any answers. He knew there were others in the building as well: Danii had showed up earlier, and Bruce Banner had been there all along. He was going to go say hi to them eventually, he promised himself, unless they came down first. Then he would probably scare them out pf their wits. Clint hated the thought. If he heard footsteps on the stairs, he had a locking mechanism in place to lock the door and prevent anybody from walking in on him. No one would think about it.
Luckily nothing happened, and Clint finally found what he was looking for- some old blueprints, buried deep within SHIELD files, for a portable weapons arsenal. It was ergonomoc, lightweight, and could be converted to a quiver no problem. As he came up the stairs, Clint could hear something he couldn't before- voices, talking. Danii, Bruce and Steve. When had cap showed up? But then another voice. Loki's. Clint subconsciously narrowed his eyes and forced himself up the stairs faster. He was in civilian clothes today, but Clint always packed a pistol, no matter where he went. One, for self defense; two, why waste his carrying permit; and three, just in case anything came up. He quietly swung the door open to the hallway where the pthers were, and stepped out into the shadows of the corridor. There he was. Loki. The sight of him made Clint fume. Why was he here? He should still be in exile, with Thor. But without his brother to watch over him, it only made sense that Loki should escape. Clint moved out into the light, his pistol in both hands and pointed to the floor. He wouldn't fire until the god moved in a dangerous manner. "I'm curious as to your intentions as well." He said simply, echoing everyone else. He couldn't help but grin oh so slightly as Banner threatened the god. But he had a grudge with the asgardian as well.

Danii didn't trust him worth a damn, and it probably showed in the way that she frowned, though she was hiding the expression behind her glass as she had another sip, "Ya now, some people would consider that fair trade," The frown deepened, eyes narrowing behind her sunglasses in a near dangerous way, "I mean hey, you bring down some alien army and nearly flatten our city, we get to make sure you don't have the stick that you used to get that far in those grubby hands of yours again," Seemed like a legit enough reason to her.
"Totally all for that counter proposal Bruce," She raised her glass in his direction, her dad always said to never let them see you sweat, and she wouldn't if she could help it. A moment later and Steve had came rushing in, a flutter of butterflies in her stomach for all of two seconds before she drowned it with the rest of her drink. The glass was placed on a pedestal beside a vase just in time for Steve to grab her hand and basically insert himself between her and the intruder. It was a sweet thought, but it made her frown all the same. Danii knew she wouldn't be able to take Loki on in a fight, but that didn't mean she needed to be treated like a fragile object that needed protecting, nor would she sit in the sidelines, if that's what he was thinking.
The blond was still frowning at the back of the Captain's head by the time that Clint came sneaking out from wherever the hell he had holed himself up at, "In the Queen's English he's after his stick, he wont start a fight if he get's it back, but like every great pain in the ass, will start some shit if we don't," Frankly she didn't trust what he was saying either way, and the only reason she could think of to give him said stick was when someone shoved it right up his god damned-, why was she still standing behind Steve? Danii took a step to the side, still somewhat behind him, but enough that she didn't look like she was being hidden away, "Just how easy did ya think this was gonna be?"
The question directed to the God, probably a little more bold then she actually meant to be, but it wasn't like she was going to back down in any sort of way. It was safe to say that Danii had a grudge against the man, even if she hadn't come face to face with him before now. With everything he had done, she wanted someone to rip his heart out of his chest and then let her play baseball with it, she wasn't the type to hold onto bad blood, but she wanted him wiped out of existence. There was just no way they were going to let him get his hands back on that much power, couldn't be. Just no way in hell. [/style] |

[atrb=border,0,true]So Cut Out The Heart And Watch the World Burn Down
Loki Glanced about the hall again, "It seems I have attracted quite the party" He spoke sarcastically, expecting no retort for any of them upon that. He noted, however, that neither Thor nor Stark were present. Interesting indeed. Loki was taking note of every interaction between those present. Captain, clearly displaying his weak point. In the girl, interesting, The way he held her hand, placing himself between the Loki and her. That could be exploited greatly should things become, messy. However being met with the lack of open hostility and merely asked to leave told Loki one thing.
The Scepter was not here.
An they had no intent upon taking him into custody. All of this, the context clues, pointed to the simple solution that the spear was on their flying monstrosity. Which was, the location of the only cell they thought could hold him.
The ever devious smirk remained present, How foolish they all were.
He tilted his head sharply towards Bruce, "And how would it have looked had I just given up with out due reason? Admittedly I should thank you for giving me a quicker opportunity to ceded defeat. Though a Hollow one, it was not." He spoke with a smirk. Everything had been used in part of the first stage of the plan.
"Though I welcome you to fully try and see if you can but achieve the same results twice. Or will you hazard the angered state of the beast and lose further control when you but continue to miss. Change, Bruce. I will have you Rip this building asunder for me." It was not maddening to be without fear. But he was mad, in the purest sense of the word. Though genius and insanity seemed to run hand in hand no matter the plane of existence. Yes, Loki was above all, confidant. He had no reason not to be. No matter the outcome today he was living with crucial information.
If it had not been made clear upon his first moment arriving to take the Tesseract the last time. Guns merely bounced from his skin. " Agent Barton, Has Stark not yet told you the little chat we had not but a forth night ago?" He asked rhetorically yet again. "Pitiful. Though My intentions are to but finish what I started. Now, I will ask again. Return the scepter, and I will leave. I know that it is not here. So your options are limited at best as to where it is kept. Fury's flying Fortress perhaps? " Loki folded his hands over one another in the small of his back, using on to cover the small blade conjured, should things become physical.

He won't succeed in this. We don't have it Loki, and I'm very much glad that you don't either," Steve responded, looking back at Danii, then the others, before turning his attention back on Loki. Steve realized that Danii was a capable agent that could easily defend herself, but he done what any man would do if they thought the girl they had a crush on was in danger and he was very cautionary at the moment.
Loki was out of line walking in here like this and demanding that The Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D give back the scepter. Steve was just appreciative to have Danii, Bruce, and Clint present, because The Avengers will never except defeat, even if Tony and Thor wasn't here right now. Loki seemed to always underestimate The Avengers, which Steve disliked very much. He had pride and honor for the team that he leads to save the world, which meant that he wasn't going to allow Loki to finish what he started.
Right about now, Steve was wishing that he had his shield, but if it came down to it, he would fight Loki without it. Loki was nothing more than a bully in Steve's mind. He may be a god from Asgard, but a bully is a bully and for Loki to demand the scepter wasn't a smart move. Loki thought he always had the upper hand on The Avengers, but he was mistaken this time. "The scepter is not on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier either Loki. You need to leave, before this gets out of hand. Your search for the scepter is a failure, so just go back to Asgard, or wherever it is you call home," Steve spoke fiercely.

Bruce had a lot more control than seemingly a lot of people in the room seemed to think that he had done. Sure he hadn’t told them about the time that he had spent with the witch doctor and he had gotten the tattoos that resided on his arms but he would have thought there was some level of trust between friends. He was more than capable of keeping calm no matter what Steve had seemed to think. He had only mentioned the hulk to Loki because of the fact that he was trying to get a rise out of the other man. This was because of the fact that he had spoken to Fury of how he was the boot and the human race was an ant. Yet Bruce had proven that all ants weren’t the same and one certain human radiated ant could turn into a bigger boot and squash the boot that had wanted to do the same to the human race.
He could tell that the whole thing was tense, since the battle with Loki the last time he had read up on the god as well as Thor because of the fact that he wanted to learn more about Asgard, after all Thor had gone toe to toe with the hulk and had been pretty unharmed that was as good a reason as any to look up someone. ”You are sorely underestimating my intelligence Loki if you can believe that I would so easily turn into the hulk because of what you are saying, I was simply stating that you might think that you are an all-powerful being yet we know that even you have your limits.” he said. Even though he had proven his point the fact that those he saw as his team had thought that he didn’t have complete control over the hulk was somewhat annoying and concerning. ”The hulk might be triggered by my emotions but be rest assured I am not going to turn into a violent beast and kill everyone in the room at the first sign of violence.”
"Talk like this."

She wasn’t an Avenger; she wasn’t even an X-Man… not anymore at least. She was nothing, a lost cause, and it was one of many reasons that she couldn’t sleep these days. Kate pulled her grey hoodie tight to her and tried rolling onto her stomach. However, this position, much like the others, made absolutely no difference. She let out a soft groan and turned onto her side. There she remained until a small ruckus broke out below. Shadowcat hadn’t been in the house very long but, she knew that certain members of the illustrious Avengers didn’t quite get along with others. However, that being said, things around the house had been relatively quiet until now which aroused her suspicion. She had to get up early to head back to the hello-pad, or whatever the military jargon for that place was, to work on some of their security systems. Seems that something was bugging up their works and they needed a technical genius (their words, not hers) to give things a look.
Kate agreed for the simple fact that she literally had nothing better to do and it was Nick Fury who had asked. Although she was a bit intimidated by the guy, she respected him. He offered her a room at the Avenger’s Mansion and provided her with whatever it was that she wanted for food and entertainment while she wasn’t working. It wasn’t a bad gig.
She gave a yawn as she came to her feet and zipped up the hoodie to cover the majority of her white tank top. She smoothed the crumpled boxer shorts that had once belonged to Piotr and toyed with her mop of brown hair. Her hand reached the handle of the door and she gave it a soft tug. The voices, although not entirely clear in her mid-evening daze, were certainly pointed and aggressive. She rubbed her eyes as she started her descent down the steps. “Is this your idea of a party?” she half-yawned.
Her eyes found Captain America holding back one of the SHIELD Agents she’d met just a few days ago at the opposite side of the hallway. Dr. Banner was grimacing and Clint was on guard. Her sleep deprived vision moved slowly to the end of the hallway closest to her and for a moment she nearly fell through the floor. Was that who she thought it was? “Holy…”

[atrb=border,0,true]So Cut Out The Heart And Watch the World Burn Down
Loki sensed no deception in Steve's voice. There was a slight curl of his lip in agitation. This was not going to be the end of this. And far from it. He would have his scepter back, it was key, nay. The key to his plans. What he was to accomplish. Not to mention it had become but and addiction to power. Loki could not take the chance and just walk out. It seemed to great of a chance they would, but to what extent would it cost him? Fury was no where to be found, It was uncharacteristic to just let him waltz out.
He merely glanced across at Banner, The man clearly missed the sarcasm that played about his words. If anyone truly had a brain of the group of heroes it was this one. Loki quickly cut his head to see the one who entered the ominous build up. A girl, a young one at that. She must have been one of the newer recruits. Was shield that desperate for members now?

Oh. So he's here for the scepter. Makes sense. Clint nodded a thanks over to Danii. This confrontation was getting only more and more intense by the second. Loki was definitely as imposing as ever, standing there, his six foot frame towering above Clint. Emotions rose. Even what Danii had said to him was teeming with wrath. Steve was struggling to be his ever-wise leader figure; Clint found himself wondering once if Steve was really doing the smart thing, telling Loki where the scepter was not. That just eliminated places for the god of trickery to look. Everyone's heart rate was going up like trains getting moving. So then Bruce and himself seemed to be the only ones who were succeeding at thinking over this logically. Above all that, Loki just grinned and adressed each one of them in his normal slew of rhetorical questions. Clint's was about a conversation between Loki and Stark. Nope. He had never heard of it. Seemed like he was never told anything anymore. It was a bit aggrevating. All part of the whole shenanigan of being with Loki for a while. People would hesitate to trust the sharpshooter for a little while. Still, he couldn't help but get a bit mad when he thought about it.
A sixth presence came in the door. A girl, that Clint only knew as Katherine. She was a former X-Man, defunct and serving a short stint at SHIELD while she was planning to do with her life. She could walk through walls and other things like that. It sounded like a cool thing to be able to do.
The sharpshooter stayed silent, but he let himself relax a little. Maybe it would ease off a bit of the tension. Yes, he knew it was Loki, but man, everyone needed a calm, clear head to deal with him.

She loved how that man just decided to never tell anyone anything, even if it was important, and then whined when he was left in the dark himself. She frowned, deep and near scowling at that point, nodding from just behind Steve when he stated that Loki should just turn and leave and never come back she would have added. He was right though, they had found a spot for the scepter that wasn't on the helicarrier, couldn't risk Loki attacking it again. Her stomach dropped just at the thought, the idea of it actually falling out of the sky.
The blonde didn't know what Fury had done with the stick exactly, but she knew that SHIELD had found a special place for it and now she was just waiting for the God to leave so she could tip Fury off that he was looking for it again. Though she was sure the director already knew because the man always did seem to know more then he let on, and although she didn't agree with the way he kept everyone in the dark she realized he had his reasons, and sometimes it was for the best.
"I think it might be a little too late for a Mexican standoff," And here she didn't even have a pea shooter to protect herself with, pushing her sunglasses up she fixed Loki with a look, "Maybe it's about time you turn around and be on your merry way," He probably wasn't even listening to her, but she had to stand with Steve on this one, the intruder needed to go, the tension was palpable between all of them, only raised a notch when Katherine made an appearance, Danii had forgotten the other woman was even there. She didn't know very much about the other female, but there were more pressing matters, hoping this wouldn't escalate and that Loki would just leave, "Ahhh no Katherine, not so much," The answer was pretty dry, humorless simply because she was so wound up.
Danii felt like her muscles would just snap from the tension, she was ready for someone to make a move, ready to do anything she felt she had to, but hoping it wouldn't come to that. Just leave, just turn and walk away it was turning into a chant, like maybe it would just will the man away. Of course it wouldn't happen, but one could always hope things would pass without incident. [/style] |
