Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

A lush, jungle planet set off somewhere deep in a corner of the Centi System, was the place where Saint Walker had placed himself under voluntary isolation. Not because of his commitment to the Blue Lantern Corps, but because of his calling as a priest. The teachings of the goddess spoke of leaving all things behind and "seat oneself beside the sky. Then you will know the goddess." Walker had taken that word to heart, and flown to this small, nameless planet. He certainly wasn't in danger of starving. This world was rich in vegetation, especially in the melon that grew on some of the trees. Very sweet, it was.
Walker was in touch with the world. He could hear every sound connected to the planet. The shuffle of the local animal life as it went about with its own business. The rustle of the trees in the slow breeze. The call of great dragon-like birds as they flew higher than the greatest cloud. In that moment, he felt as if he were truly connected with the goddess. He could feel the blue ring amplifying this effect for him. A blue aura had surrounded him, and, though his eyes were closed, a blue glow was visible beneath his eyelids. In that single moment in time, Walker felt he had found true eternal peace.

Streaking like a comet through the sky, Razer landed on the jungle world with a huge thud, not bothering to come to a soft landing. He left a rather large, smoking crater where he had hit the ground, and slowly stood up from a kneeling position. He had little desire to keep his presence a secret, not from an opposing Lantern that was to be his prey. The reading he felt from his ring was strange, unfamiliar to him, though. It was different from the other Green Lanterns, though if it would be a different corps, or simply a peculiarity of the species of his foe, he did not know.
Razer knew the enemy was nearby, though, so he set out in the direction his ring was facing in. Unfortunately, his path was covered in dense foliage, to the point that any ordinary person would consider the terrain completely impassable, and give up and search for another way forward.
Fortunately for Razer, he was far from ordinary.
Razer's ring shot out a molten beam of energy, slashing and burning the trees that stand in his path. He took notice of the local fauna running away from the fire, but he did not pay them much mind. Nothing large enough to pose a threat to him, even without his power ring. Just vermin, vermin he felt no remorse about exterminating. He figured that the rainy jungle would prevent the fire from spreading far beyond his location, which was a bit of a pity. He wouldn't mind leaving his mark on this world.
Soon reaching a clearing, Razer spies an alien, seated in a meditative pose. Normally, such a sight would not surprise him, but the blue jumpsuit he wore, and the large lantern by his side made his eyes widen.
Blue Lantern....damn...
He had heard warnings about them...how they rendered your rage impotent with hope. No matter how angry you were, no matter how badly you wanted to tear the Blue Lantern's head from his body, it was robbed from you, rendering you as powerless as you were before the Red Ring found you. He had ignored the warnings, believing them to be too few in number to be a real threat. But here, alone, his luck reared on him yet again.
Raising his ring to fire, Razer tries to fire off a shot from his ring, but there is nothing to show for it besides being placed in an awkward gesture. Growling, Razer runs for the alien, anger overtaking him in a foolish, powerless rushing attack. Without his ring, all he has are his fists, and he'll use them as long as he's able.

In this peaceful planet, Saint Walker could detect an unpeaceful presence. One full of rage, and primal hatred. Not unlike that of the brutal Atrocitus. Perhaps there was a Red Lantern out here. How peculiar. What would those rage-addicted individuals need with this planet? It was of little significance to them. That is, unless they had some greater agenda at hand. This Red Lantern that had just landed may be some kind of scout for a sector-wide domination scheme. No, that was a little bit off the wall. For now, he assumed that the Lantern was here to hunt down other Lanterns. If that was the case, he was responsible for bringing the red blight to this peaceful world, and his responsibility to deal with the problem, no matter the cost. Such was the charge of being a Lantern.
Without opening his eyes, Walker extended one hand, the one without the ring on, and grasped one of Razer's arms. Then he lowered himself to the ground, landing lightly on his feet. He crouched low, and jumped upwards, letting go of Razer's arm. He soared over Razer's head, and landed with the grace of a dancer. "Greetings, brother." he said, with the same voice of indifference and calm with which he greeted all of his would-be enemies. "I am afraid your presence here is not a good thing. I kindly request you leave."

The Blue Lantern's maneuver happened so quickly, that Razer barely had time to register that it appeared he had simply vanished, only to reappear behind him. Turning around, Razer scans the surroundings, trying to find where the elusive alien landed. Seeing him further inside the clearing behind him, Razer turns and charges again, keeping his stance tighter. He does not want to allow him to escape again.
"And I 'kindly request' that you die!" Razer shouts. If the Blue Power Ring did not cancel out his power, flames would be bursting around his body. He did not like being talked down to by this...unusual sentient. He didn't know if this attitude was common among the Blue Lantern Corps, or if it was merely this infuriating member. He hoped it was the latter, it would make exterminating this Lantern all the more rewarding.
He did not want to stay in the Blue Lantern's presence for long. He knew it would only be a matter of time before his foe would start fighting in earnest, and without his powers, he could not stand before a Power Ring. The whole scenario annoyed Razer, he was unused to being weak, not after having rage be a constant ally and source of strength all this time. Feeling impotent rage was something he had thought he was done with.

Of course, the Red Lantern was completely blinded by his rage. A pity, for Saint Walker could help him out of this addiction. Still, there was always hope. Hope that this Red Lantern would abandon his harmful ways and use his power in the service of good. At the moment, though, that didn't seem like an option, so Saint Walker took the only path available to him: self defence.
"I'm afraid I cannot do that just yet, brother." he said as he sidestepped Razer's charge. "The path the goddess has set out for me does not end with death. Not today, at least." At this, he leaped up into a tree branch. He balanced perfectly on the narrow beam of wood, looking down at his apparent opponent. He seemed so small from up here. Best not to tell him that, or it might rile him up. That would be most inconvenient.
"You believe your rage is a powerful tool, but against a being of peace, it has no power." Walker said, perching precariously on the branch. "It is the orphan child of fear and despair. A self destructive emotion. If left unchecked, it will consume everything you hold dear, and then you will follow."

Razer snarls as the alien dodges his attack once again. How was he doing that! He detected no use of ring energy...how could he be so much faster than him? It was infuriating, to have all his attacks, all his anger, turned to nothing by a man who would not stand and fight. And he took the time he should be fighting, to preach! He didn't even register as a threat to the Blue Lantern. And that was the worst part of it all.
He never wanted to be powerless. Not since he'd lost everything because of powerlessness.
"Get down here and fight me, damn you!" He shouted. He couldn't jump that high, and he knew it. Without the power of his ring, he couldn't jump up to bring the fight to him in an instant, or blast the tree to pieces. Frustration clawed at him, and he soon began to climb the tree, the old fashioned way. His clawed hands made it not overly difficult, but it was still an annoyance, and he knew that the alien would have plenty of time to simply jump away from him again.
"Stay still, so I can hit you! If you think my rage is so powerless, why won't you stand against me?!"
His words had the air of experience and prophecy, but Razer already knew his rage was self-destructive. if anything, he was counting on it. He always knew that eventually following the path of the red ring, and Atrocitus' war against the Guardians, would lead to his death. But in a life without meaning, it felt better to go out in a blaze of defiance. But this damned Blue Lantern wouldn't even give him that. If he fought in earnest, he would go down with a whimper, instead of a bang.
But even a whimper could be defiant, if it was persistent enough. And Razer was not about to back down in the face of someone who wouldn't even hit him back.

"That would be counter-productive." Walker said, with an air of ambience to his voice. "Not all problems can be solved by fighting. Red Lanterns would do well to learn that lesson." He wanted to prove that point to this particularly aggressive lantern. Sure enough, when the Red Lantern made to climb the tree, which Walker noted was an impressive feat, even if his species did have claws, the Blue Lantern leader just jumped away into another, more sloping tree branch. No doubt this would infuriate the lantern even more. That was part of his plan. If the Lantern was used to experiencing rage with his ring active, perhaps he would see how harmful the emotion could be when his ring was little more than a piece of jewelery.
Slowly, he walked along the tree branch until he reached the end, then he jumped off, taking one of the large, round fruits the tree bore with him. He landed and bit into the fruit. How sweet the food was. Truly, nature was a bountiful mistress. "Care to try some of this melon, brother? It is very sweet." he held the melon out to Razer for a second. "I am sure you need your strength just as much as I need mine." He didn't actually have much strength, but Razer didn't need to know that just yet. After all, he wasn't exactly going to stand and fight. That was not the Blue Lantern way, and certainly not Saint Bro'Dee Walker's way.

"There is a flaw in your argument." Razer growls, as he climbs up the slick bark of the tree. "You would be a problem easily solved by fighting!" Seeing Saint Walker jump off the branch provoked him, and with a roar, he pushes off the tree trunk, leaping towards him. However, the Blue Lantern is still much faster than him, and all that it ends up is with him precariously holding on to the branch that his enemy was previously standing on.
And then he heard it crack.
As the branch that had been his only support snapped, Razer fell to the ground, a good ten feet. Unable to stop his fall by flying or grabbing something with his ring, Razer returns to the ground with a harsh thud. Ears ringing, Razer blinks his eyes open to find the entire world spinning, and the Blue Lantern up close to him, offering him food. Razer made a clumsy grab for him, but even if the alien didn't move a muscle, the attack would have landed far away. The failed thrash only made his head hurt even more, and he gave a groan. Slowly getting to his feet, Razer clutched his head, in an attempt to stop it from throbbing.
"I...I have...I have no desire for your food...just....just go away..."

"Killing me will not solve your problems, brother." Walker said, keeping up a sage-like tone. "In fact, I suspect that killing anyone will cause your problems to increase. Such is the way of the vengeance cycle." He took a healthy bite out of the fruit, savouring the sweetness of it before continuing. "Kill one person, and you are the next target in the vengeance cycle. It comes full circle." He had a suspicion the lantern wouldn't listen. Red Lanterns were notoriously unreasonable, especially the younger, more headstrong, ones. Atrocitus' vendetta against the Guardians was to blame for that. That poor being was obsessed with revenge for a great slight. Walker could empathise with him. This one? Less so.
He tried another tactic. Drawing on his knowledge of folk tales from Astonia, he attempted to make a point through storytelling.
"There is a story on my home world that I will not forget. It is a parable of sorts. A younger man, strong in head, came to possess a weapon. With it, he killed the animal life for food. Those that could not provide it, he discarded without any though. The next year, no animals were around to hunt. Many turned to consuming the plants for sustenance, while others starved because they were dependent on the animals for food. The young man travelled far and wide to search for the animals, until he found one. "Why do you hide?" the young man asked, and the animal replied "If you bear your sword to bring harm upon us, we will exact a toll from your kind. It must be done to protect us." The young man relinquished his sword, and the animals returned as equals." he finished with a solemn nod of his head. "Do you understand what I am telling you, brother?"

Razer gets to his feet, slightly more steady, but still very dizzy, and far from fighting shape. He's still dazed, eyes blinking as he tries to bring himself back to form. He hears the Blue Lantern preach to him, hears about the cycle of revenge. It all felt like meaningless drivel to him, worth nothing. He just wanted the preachy alien to stop talking, so his head could stop throbbing.
"Who cares if anyone takes vengeance upon me for my actions? The guilty were punished, and there is no one that cares enough about me to take revenge. Not anymore."
Maybe there was something to what he said earlier, about the nature of rage. While Razer felt that he was wrong completely about fear...despair still clung to him, even if it was masked by his anger at an uncaring universe that would allow Ilana to be taken from him. It was the only emotion he could stomach now, despair was too painful, and anything else was just beyond his reach.
He was fortunate that it gave him power, then. If he had allowed despair to consume him instead of anger, then he would simply have died a pathetic wreck on his home. This way, at least...this way, he could have his vengeance. He could have it, at least, if no meddlesome Blue Lanterns interfered with him.
The story he told next honestly amused him. It was an obvious allegory, he was far from stupid. In his old life, he had considered being a doctor or a builder, before he had decided to be a soldier.
"You liken me to the young man in the story, wielding my ring the same way he wields his sword. With his sword, he fed himself, the same way I exact the vengeance my ring gave me the chance to have. And yet, he and those close to him were punished for it. Once he gave up his sword, everything went right again. You intend for me to give up my ring."
Staring at the Blue Lantern in the eye, it was made clear what his response was before he even said anything.
"The answer is no. There is nothing in this life left for me besides my vengeance. In giving it up...I might as well kill myself now. Not that I haven't thought of that on occassion. However, Atrocitus has given me a higher purpose than that."

Inside himself, Walker felt a small amount of anger welling up. This young one was willingly making himself a pawn for Atrocitus' vendetta against the Guardians. It seemed too awful to be true. Did he have nothing else except his eternal rage? In that moment, Walker pitied Razer. They were not so unalike after all. Both had lost dearly in their lives, and both had been called to serve a higher force. But whereas Saint Walker had sided with Ganthet and Sayd, becoming a force for universal peace, Razer had sided with a homicidal maniac who wanted the Guardians dead for the-goddess-knows-what reasons. In that moment, Walker could feel compassion for this Red Lantern. He felt like part of the Indigo Tribe. But they empathised with anyone. Walker didn't really empathise with others, even though it was sort of necessary to be a priest, let alone a Saint.
"If that is your decision, I cannot change it." Walker nodded. "But know that your path will lead you to a dark place. Not even I will be able to save you then, brother. You must make that choice for yourself. Goddess guide you, brother." Then he turned and held out his ring hand. His power battery floated to his hand and Walker held it out in front of himself. "My ring's power is low. I hope you do not mind." He placed his ring hand inside the battery.
"In fearful day, in raging night With strong hearts full, our souls ignite When all seems lost in the war of light Look to the stars, for hope burns bright!"
Blue light swirled around Walker's slender form as his ring recharged to full capacity.
