Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

It was a good thing he had so much power that it was a slow decline, but that didn't mean he was going to just let the blue lantern fly around. If he met up with a green lantern, and gave him a massive boost of power, then things would go south for him very quickly. What he needed to do was get a hold of the blue lantern before he managed to find any of the million green lanterns that guarded earth and the surrounding sector. Killing the blue lantern seemed the most logical method for getting rid of any concerns.
Thankfully, earth was a small planet, and tracking lanterns had never been particularly difficult for him in the first place. He imagined it would be very beneficial for non-lanterns if they had the same kind of technology. The ability to locate lanterns, know where they're hiding at any time, would certainly be a great advantage. Thankfully, it was usually only something the rings could do, though most didn't know how to hunt down someone from another corps. They weren't as smart as Sinestro- they didn't know how to use the rings as he did. He created his own rings. His own corps. He knew how they worked more than anyone else could possibly hope to. There were things he knew they could do that he hadn't even tried out. It made him dangerous.
He liked that.
Hovering over a very average looking building, Sinestro frowned. It could have been a very nice place, or a piece of shit- Sinestro was not that aware of what humans considered good or bad with their simplistic designs. Everything just looked rather simple to him, save for some of the earlier buildings that existed only in their research logs. Whatever this house was on the scale, it was the place he was looking for- the home of the blue lantern he had seen not that long ago. He was the one who had said that his memory had been altered. The one who had suggested that he had actually known the other heroes in the area, and they weren't his enemies. It was all a load of bullshit, he knew, but it had managed to confuse him just a little bit. Which, in turn, had given him a headache. More reason to make the lantern suffer for his insults before killing him. No one made Thaal Sinestro have a headache, damnit.
He pointed his ring at the house, a ray of light circling the building causing a ring of fire to spring up around it. For the moment, he didn't attack the building itself, but only because he was not there to outright murder the human inside. If he was inside. Should the flames draw him out, then he would show the blue lantern that, even at a disadvantage, Sinestro could not be matched in might. Any other fight would not be acceptable, and that included getting the jump on him. so the fire would serve as a warning. If no one came out by the time the fire reached the house, well, then one less ugly building to have to look at.
There may have been other humans inside of the building. Perhaps family. Sinestro did not know and he did not care. Anyone else who died in their fight shouldn't have been aligned with the blue lantern in the first place. Human life meant nothing to him at that point. It annoyed him to even consider that there had been a time where it had.

Well today had sure taken a turn for the worse. He had just been sitting inside on a saturday, grounded for having ‘run away’ for a week. Albeit he hadn’t actually done so. He had been taken to Odym to be initiated into the Blue Lantern Corps. But he couldn’t tell his parents he was the Blue Lantern just yet. He needed to make a little bit of a name first for himself. To prove that he’s capable. Sure, his parents would still be angry and fight against it, but he would have proof to back up his claim that he’s ready. He knew that his parents hadn’t bought the running away story either. He was the worst liar of all time. Plus anyone who knew him, knew he wouldn’t have done such a thing. So now, until he decided to tell them the truth he was supposed to be ‘grounded’.
Rather than that T.J. was staying inside and practicing using his Blue Lantern power ring without the help of a Green Lantern. He was getting somewhat better. But he really just wished that he could have a Green Lantern partner. At that his mind moved to Sinestro. He had been reduced back to a Yellow Lantern by that woman. He knew that he could be a great help in bringing him down or hopefully back to himself as his Blue Lantern power ring could drain the Yellow Ring. That would be a great help. And should something happened to him he was sure that his fellow Blue Lanterns could get the job done.
Then he realized something. He smelled something burning . . . It was the house! Clad in his BLue Lantern costume he flew outside with the intent to stop it before he looked up and saw none other than the yellow clad Sinestro. A look of clear pity formed on the Blue Lanterns face. He remembered saving the sun with him. Helping fight off an invasion force with him on another planet. Just the two of them. He was the first person he ever teamed up with for a real mission. In fact, that was his first real mission or heroic act. He felt something in his gut as he put out the fire with his ring easily before he began to float up to Sinestro. “Sinestro, stop this! This isn’t you. Yellow and black aren’t your true colors,” he said pleadingly as he floated up towards the man. “I know it’s not. I’ve fought alongside side you. We’ve saved a planet together. We’ve saved a galaxy from a dying sun.”
T.J. couldn't accept that Sinestro's true colors could really be yellow. He was too optimistic and hopeful to think so pessimistically. He had fought alongside Sinestro and though he hadn't known the man for long, he thought he knew him enough to know that Sinestro's true colors were green and black. He had to believe that Sinestro could come back from this. He remembered the stories they told on Odym. How they made him out to be almost a poster child for rehabilitating heroes. To show that anyone, no matter how far they've fallen, can turn back. He was sort of like the Darth Vader of the galaxy. Except taller and scarier looking.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/blackmiddle.png] Sinestro watched the blue lantern come from the house, just as he suspected he would. He didn't care if the younger lantern put out the fire- it wasn't his intention to burn things just for the hell of it. He had gotten what he wanted. The Blue Lantern had come out of hiding, and now he could end the boy. of course, not before he made him suffer a little bit. He didn't like the look of the kid- something about him was vaguely familiar, and that only made him feel like his head was going to split open just thinking about. Anyone who caused him pain was meant to suffer for it, even if they weren't aware that they were doing something wrong. In any case, he was a blue lantern. That alone was enough reason to beat him until he gave up on his stupid love of hope.
Wouldn't that be fun?
Watching the Blue Lantern, Sinestro frowned. It hadn't taken him very long for him to start going on about things Sinestro didn't understand. About them having worked together before. Saving lives? Like he would ever team up with a blue lantern, and such a young one at that, to help anyone. Hope calmed fear. if there was one thing Sinestro didn't like, it was his fear being taken from the people he was trying to control. Why was this kid so insistent on it, though? What was he going to gain from such ridiculous lies? It made little sense to him, but he wasn't in the mood to worry about it. This boy thought he was a Green lantern at heart, and that was insulting to the master of fear. This kid must have been very poorly informed, if he had only been told about his long-ancient Green Lantern days.
He would have to be re-educated.
"What do you know of my true colors?" Sinestro growled, pointing his ring at the blue lantern. While the blue ring was draining his power, he was in such abundance of it that he still had plenty of juice to fight for some time. "What do you know of me at all? You are just some misguided whelp from earth, thinking he can change the wicked. Well, I am not so easily convinced- what I do, I do for the good of the universe. And I will make sure no Blue Lantern gets in the way of me or my plans."
He didn't hesitate, sending a massive blast of yellow energy at the boy, before changing forwards and creating a construct mace to strike him in the side of the head with. He wasn't expecting too much of a fight from a lantern with limited ability, but he wasn't going to go easy on him just because of that. He wanted to wound him. Make him incapable of fighting back. Then, perhaps, he would show him the true nature of fear. Fear so strong that even hope would fall to it.

T.J. would lying straight through his teeth if he said that he wasn't scared or feeling off-put by the yellow version of Sinestro. The green version of him was off-putting enough to be honest. The man reminded him of his father, a hard-boiled and authoritarian war veteran and police office. But T.J. wasn't going to show him that. He didn't fear him. It felt awkward staring at the man. A man who couldn't remember him. To be honest T.J. didn't like the color yellow on Sinestro. He thought that green looked better on him. Though perhaps that was a bias opinion that favored the Green Lantern Corps over the Sinestro Corps.
T.J. knew of his rings effect on Sinestro's ring. Hope drained fear. Naturally. He assumed that was the reason the man had come for him so soon. T.J. was glad he had come for him sooner rather than later. It not only saved him the trouble of having to search for him, but it also gave him the chance to try and bring him back before he did much damage. "You're confused, Sinestro. I know you're a Green Lantern at heart. I've fought by your side and the ring wouldn't have worked for you otherwise. You ring wouldn't have given mine a power boost and yours wouldn't have gotten the power boost from mine if you weren't. Whatever that woman did to you, Sinestro, I can help. I can bring you back to Odym and we can get things back to the way they were."
Even with the limited power of his Blue Lanterm power ring without a Green Lantern, T.J. was still able to deflect the massive blast of yellow energy with a blue energy shield. Though he was pushed back as the shield broke. He create another small shield construct out of blue energy as Sinestro swung his yellow energy mace at him. The mace easily broke the weak shield and T.J. was through back through the air from the force though he was able to easily stop himself as he looked up at Sinestro from about five feet away.
Looking Sinestro in the eyes T.J. a small frown formed on his face. He wondered whether or not Sinestro had some left over bits of memory in their somewhere. He had to believe that. That he could be saved. That he could be brought back. "I refuse to harm you Sinestro. You are my ally whether or not you remember it. But you will." T.J. would defend himself all he could, but he was not going to hurt Sinestro. Sinestro was a god man. And he was going to fix this. He was going to bring the Green Lantern back.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/blackmiddle.png] Sinestro didn't really appreciate being told he was confused, nor did he like someone accusing him of being a Green Lantern. Every time one of the earthlings said that to him, he felt like punching them right in the face. "I am no Green Lantern," snapped the red skinned alien angrily, "I am the leader of the Sinestro Corps, and enemy to the Guardians. Keep saying things like that, and you're going to get yourself hurt." As if he wanted the blue lanterns helping him out. Even if he did believed that he needed help, the last place he would visit would be their home world. For him, the lanterns of hope were almost as bad as the guardians themselves. They believed in such a foolish ideal, and they were basically worthless. A thorn in his side.
A big, energy-draining thorn.
Watching the other block his attacks, Sinestro was mildly impressed. For a blue lantern, he seemed to have a good amount of power in his ring. Probably something to do with being a human, considering that always seemed to be the root of things. There were way too many Green Lanterns from earth, as far as he was concerned. And one too many blue lanterns, too. He could do something about the one blue lantern right at that moment, however.
Frowning, he did not take his eyes off his opponent, treating him as any other warrior in his path. Even if he knew the blue lantern could not make constructs or fight back in any way beyond draining the power of his ring, he was not going to take the battle lightly. He was, after all, a leader. He knew better than to underestimate his opponents, no matter how young, inexperienced, or generally weak they were. Such thinking had caused him to lose some important battles in the past, and he would not let that happen again.
Even if it was a little embarrassing taking someone like a hopeful hippy seriously.
"Won't hurt me?" That made the Yellow Lantern laugh, "don't you mean you CAN'T hurt me? I know how your ring works, hope- you don't have any means to make constructs without a Green Lantern around. And even if you do think I'm one at heart, I seriously doubt you'll be getting any help from me." He launched forward again, several spears appearing all around him. With a flick of his wrist, they all drove right for TJ, though Sinestro didn't care how many hit him or where. If he was cut, stabbed, or a combination of the two, he would be happy. As long as the lantern was suffering.
"I can sense your fear," he teased lightly, "you know you have no hope of beating me- you don't even deserve that ring you wear! I will be sure to destroy it when you're dead, so no one else gets stuck with such an unworthy trinket as one that once belonged to you."

T.J. still had his soft frown on as he looked back at Sinestro. That was a close one. He wasn’t very worried or fearful of death or what might happen to him. He was too hopeful to really think about that. Though that was close and he knew Sinestro had experience and brute power on his side. What he was fearful for at this point was Sinestro. What would happen to him if he couldn’t help him? If he couldn’t manage to bring him back. He was very hopeful he could, but he knew that there was a large chance he wouldn’t succeed. And he couldn’t help but fear Sinestro’s fate if something happened. But his hope greatly outweighed any fear he had at that time. He listened as the korugan snapped back angrily at being called a Green Lantern. “It was my belief that you were attempting to harm me regardless of what I called you,” T.J. said almost as a reflex. T.J. hoped he could keep up the small talk between them. He was draining Sinestro’s avarice the best he could. Hopefully Lilith might show up. At best perhaps one of Earth’s other Green Lanterns would show up and lend him a hand and a hefty power boost. But as great as it would be for someone to show up and lend a hand, T.J. wasn’t counting on that. He was making his planned based solely on what he had. Solely on what he could do. And it was largely based on draining the Yellow Lanterns power and fear and trying both heal and talk down Sinestro.
T.J. knew he didn’t have enough power to truly fight against the constructs Sinestro created. He had barely managed to dodge them. One had caught his right arm, but it was nothing to worry about. Sure it stung a bit, but his costume quickly regenerated over the spot he had been hit. He didn’t bother trying to make it heal. It wasn’t anything big and he needed whatever power he could summon and he already knew it wouldn’t be a whole lot. It would be a lie to say it was easy to dodge them. He was new to this whole thing and it showed. But T.J. thought it was somewhat impressive he wasn’t stabbed to death. “Least now I know how far back that woman erased your memory . . . or suppressed it or whatever it was she did,” T.J. said in response to Sinestro’s words on the Blue and Green Lanterns and how the ring of hope worked. “But if you wish to be specific about it, fine. I wouldn’t hurt you even if I could. Whether you remember or not, we’re allies and I do remember. I remember the stories. How they spoke of you on Odym. As a symbol that anyone can change. Whatever she did to you, I’m positive it’s reversible. And even if it isn’t and those memories are lost forever, I believe you could change again. Like you did before.”
T.J. listened to the man taunt him. It was true that he had doubts about being a Blue Lantern. Doubts that he wasn’t good enough and that he wasn’t the best choice to be hero. And yes, he did have quiet some trouble with his own confidence even if his confidence in others rarely, if ever, waivered. But the taunts didn’t effect him. He had been taunted his whole life by bullies. By his own siblings. By his own father. Even by some of his closest friends. And compared to some of the things they had said to him, Sinestro’s words were docile. “Whether you believe I’m worthy of my ring doesn’t matter albeit I’d rather you approve of my role as a member of the Blue Lantern Corps. What matters is that I still believe, that I still have hope. That I still stick by the Blue Lantern oath. And I do. I always will. You can try and do what you will, but know that you can never break me.”

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/blackmiddle.png] It was outrageous! Listening to him talk, Sinestro found it was becoming harder and harder to control the rage building inside of him. And he wasn't a man who normally gave in to such reckless, wild emotions as rage. He knew the red lanterns well, and he knew they were both powerful and foolish. They could never hope to properly control the anger in their hearts- they would never be truly threatening when they could not wield their own power source effectively. All the same, the conversation before him was making him very angry indeed- he didn't like that this kid was going on and on about him having changed and all the damn hope it inspired! Like he was some kind of hero to the blue lantern corps?! No! He would never accept something like that as fact. Even if he did believe he may have been someone else for a time, he was not going to go back to being that sob story again.
"I'm going to make you see how stupid it is to hope for that kind of thing!" He hissed at the blue lantern, using his ring to create a few yellow construct wolves. They snarled and stalked through the air as though they were walking on dirt. They prowled around the blue lantern, just waiting for the cue from their alpha to attack. That alpha continued to glare at the boy, narrowing his yellow eyes. "I am back to how I'm supposed to be- don't you think this only proves I was never meant to be anything but this? Fear is the only thing I am truly a master of- I can even sense the fear inside of you, though you do your best to drown it in your silly hope. I will bring it to life- I will prove to you that there is no 'saving' me: I have already been saved." He felt it was true, too. He was not a tool for the guardians- he was in control of his fate. It was a much better way to be than a weak, whimpering green lantern with human friends and even adopted family from earth. Just what the hell had he been thinking, anyway?
Now he was back to what was really the right path for him. It just meant proving it to the blue lantern so he would stop going on about wanting to help him.
He didn't need help.
The yellow lantern smiled when TJ said that he couldn't be broken, though it was clear he was also pretty annoyed. that was the worst part about dealing with blue lanterns- they really did hold firm to their beliefs. But so did he, now that he was in the right frame of mind, and he wasn't going to back down just because the kid stated that he wouldn't be broken. If anything, that only sounded like a challenge to Sinestro. He was still very much interested in making the kid suffer and cry. Making him beg for his life and tossing away his blue ring.
"I have seen what happens when a blue lantern loses hope," he said with a wicked sort of smirk, "I have seen their own rings abandon them- leave them for dead in the midst of battle. I will enjoy seeing that moment again, when your ring betrays you." With that, he let his construct wolves attack the boy, the large beasts looking to rip through his barriers and slash up his skin, biting and clawing like any real wild animal might have.
Sinestro found the realistic constructs were best when trying to torment someone.

T.J. frowned. HE couldn’t stand to see Sinestro like this. He ahd only met the man twice, but they had fought alongside each other. They had been comrades and that was enough for T.J. to see him as a friend and an ally. It was hard for him to see this as the man Sinestro even sued to be. He was getting so angry. Like before when that woman had been there. T.J. didn’t know if there had been history between the two, but she must of done something to tick him off like that. “Were you always this rage filled as a yellow lantern? Rage blinds people. It unleashes some of the darkest parts of human nature. Surely you would have figured that out by now. Or maybe that woman just wiped you back to a time before you realized it.” His eyes followed the snarling yellow wolves as they circled him staring him down. T.J. wasn’t going to lie or hide it. He felt fear about the situation. Sinestro’s mind had been warped. Perhaps so warped he may just have him ripped to shreds at that moment. And it wasn’t like he could defend against the constructs. Not without a Green Lantern around. The situation seemed bleak, but there was no way T.J. would give up.
T.J. was having a hard time listening to Sinestro talk this way. He gritted his teeth as his eyes moved from the wolves to Sinestro. “The only reason you are the way you are is because of what that magic user did to you!! You wouldn’t be this way without outward intervention! And to be perfectly honest I never quiet took you for the ‘let the universe decide my fate’ type a guy anyway.” He hadn’t know him for very long and the Green Lanterns did use a lot of prophet. It could very well be he was that kind of person. But he hadn’t come off that way to T.J. at all. “And yes I do have fear. I fear that the Green Lantern Corps is losing a great man. I fear that I may be ripped to shred any moment. That doesn’t mean that I’m not willing to die for what I believe in. I knew the dangers, the risk and the responsibilities when I took up the role of Blue Lantern.” T.J. said trying to sound as brave as he could be. He had never been much for bravery. He could show a surprising amount of spine from time to time, but nothing much like this until now. He wasn’t going to allow Sinestro to be enveloped in his poisonous dreams again.
The smirk Sinestro gave to his response about not being able to be broken sent a chill down his spine. He didn‘t know quite why. It was just . . . strange. As if he were challenging him or something. “In fearful day, in raging night, with strong hearts full, our souls ignite. When all seems lost in the War of Light, look to the stars, for hope burns bright. That is the oath I took Sinestro. I took that oath and I’m willing to stick by it to my death. I am aware that others before me have lost hope. That their rings have failed them. But I am not them. So do not mistake me for those people, Sinestro. I don’t care what ring you’re wearing, it won’t break my hope.” That’s when the constructs attacked. HE did his best to dodge rather than go on the offensive. OR really even the defensive. HE was trying not use his ring. After all, he just needed enough time and eventually, hopefully, he could drain all of Sinestro’s ring. One of the wolves managed to scrap his arm. Another just managed to bite leg. He sent a small blast through the latter’s head. It was a pathetic blast, but it was impressive without the help of a Green Lantern’s will. T.J. didn’t quite know how much longer he could keep this up. And he was sure that Sinestro could take him out rather easily if he truly wanted to. “I know you’re in there,” T.J. said as he kicked on of the construct wolves away with his right foot. “Even if it’s not the Sinestro with the memories of me or the others you may of met on Earth, I know it’s in you change without then. You did it before, you can do it again. It doesn’t have to be this way!” T.J. managed to throw one of the wolves which had jumped onto his back over himand into another. He was breathing heavily. He could feel the pain in his leg and on his body where the various scrapes and scratches were.

Sinestro wasn't sure how, but this blue lantern was certainly putting him in a lot of pain. His head felt like it was going to explode. Every time he thought about someone having altered his memory, or how he might have been, it hurt. He didn't care- he didn't care what brand of idiot he had been wearing his green ring again. Having picked that life, a life that had betrayed him so completely the first time around, only proved how stupid a man he had become. Now that he had a second chance, he wasn't going to let it go to waste. But it was going to be a problem for him if the pain in his head wouldn't cease. And the blue lantern had one small point he found difficult to ignore- he couldn't see himself regularly being so full of rage, either. It was because of the pain- it was making him react in a way that wasn't normal for him. Or was it because of the spell?
Admittedly, he didn't like the idea that he was being controlled by some kind of magic. Even if he liked the opportunity it presented, his life was not something to be messed with by outside forces. He had never allowed anyone to dictate what he was and wasn't supposed to be doing. Was he now going to allow it, just because he was scared to face the other man he had apparently become?
No, it hurt too much to think about. He just needed to focus on making this kid pay for putting him in such an existential crisis in the first place.
He let the wolves leap and attack in the middle of the air, reacting as though their transparent paws were connecting with earth. He could see they were doing some damage to the boy, and if he left them alone long enough, they would likely rip him to shreds. While it was impressive he was able to attack them, the difference in their power was clear- without a green ring, the offensive capabilities of the blue ring was pathetic at best. Of course he had already known that. Going into things, he had never expected a fist fight from the other. However, he had also never expected so much trouble just talking to him, either. Even for a new member to the corps, he was devoted to the concept of hope. Breaking him was going to be more difficult than he thought. But for all the pain the boy had subjected him to, it was still going to be worth the effort.
The blue lantern spoke again, and Sinestro growled, throwing himself forward into the fight. "What if I want it to be this way?!" he snarled, his head pounding as though it was protesting to the very words coming from his mouth. He took it out on the boy, his wolves moving out of the way as he tried to grab the blue lantern by the throat. Strangling people wasn't normally his way of dealing with trouble makers, but he really was letting his anger get the better of him at that point. 'make him stop' 'make him shut up'.
That's all he could think about through the pain.
As he reached for the other's neck, his ring let out powerful sparks of electricity, so it would likely be even more painful. "Stop this! Stop this crap about hope and trying to save me! Maybe I don't WANT to be saved!"

TJ certainly wasn't going to last much longer against Sinestro's wolves. His defenses were pathetic without the will of a Green Lantern and the wolves made it very clear as they easily tore through every defense he could muster. But he couldn't lose hope. Sure he had somewhat low self-esteem, but he believed in the good that he knew laid dormant within Sinestro. He was already breathing heavy by this point and he had only managed to defeat a single wolf which had certainly surprised himself. His costume was tore and claw marks were all over him.
"Damn it," he said in-between his heavy breathes as he wiped some blood from his cheek where he had been scratched,[/color] "I feel as useless as Krillin."[/color] He smiled as he said it. He always liked Krillin but he had been useless ever since the Evil King Piccolo arc. TJ frowned at Sinestro's words. He needed to help him. To save him somehow. "Don't you get it!? You don't know what you want! You're being controlled, manipulated! You won't know what you want until you break whatever hold that woman has got over you! You break that hold and still want this then I will stand alongside my fellow Blue and Green Lanterns and gladly give my life to protect the universe and take you down! Is this what the mighty Sinestro has come down to? This low of a level? The former leader of the Sibestro Corps, the legendary Green Lantern? Succumbing to the wishes, control and manipulation of someone weaker than yourself?! I don't think either the Sinestro I know or the old former leader of the Sinestro Corps would take kindly to being little more than a puppet!"
TJ didn't have time to move. Between the wolves still coming at him and Sinestro charging forward grabbing for his neck he had nowhere to run. The spark of electricity went throughout his body painfully and he opened his mouth to scream but nothing came out. He was helpless. He could feel Sinestro's grasp around his neck as it tightened. He tried gasping for air for a moment before remembering he didn't need to due to his ring which provided him with oxygen already. Though it still hurt immensely. He had never been choked before and figured it'd probably be worse without his ring. Hopefully he won't have to find out. He starred Sinestro right in the eye not showing fear, but pity. "You . . . . don't . . . . have . . . . to . . . . do . . . . this," TJ barely managed through the choke Sinestro had over him, "Fight . . . it . . . Fight . . . for . . . control . . . You . . . can . . . do . . . it."
