Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Bruce Wayne awaited in the lobby of his WayneTech corporation building; his schedule being completely at the moment. From the last couple nights as being the Dark Knight, Bruce's aging body had forced him to take a small vacation for recuporation. While Bruce was not one to stand still, his butler and ally, Alfred Pennyworth, had suggested a lovely person of interest Wayne Enterprises recently promoted. While Bruce Wayne was not constantly on the up and up on his father's company, Bruce did keep a small eye on the business now and again. Once Alfred brought up the promoted employee, her information and face instantly came into mind.
Eve Amherst, if he wasn't mistaken. Sitting down for one of Wayne Enterprise's board meetings, he had been introduced to her by one of the senior staff members, he claiming that Eve was certaintly a trustworthy and responsible member in Wayne Enterprises. With her work, Wayne's stocks rose (giving Bruce Wayne and extra bit of cash, which brought along shiny new Bat-gadgets and toys) and more charities received generous and immense donations, helping restore areas of Gotham which needed it the most. While Bruce was told that she was a great choice for hiring, he also saw that she was a definate description of stunning beauty. From her inviting eyes to her seductive curves, Bruce had hired an employee with the looks of a supermodel. Looks and a nice work ethic? Hm, Bruce was getting very impressed. So, with Batman taking a short hiatus, Bruce Wayne would make it his business to learn more about his new employee. And what better way to do that then a trip to the home theater in Wayne Manor? With Bruce's wealth, installing something like a home movie theater was nothing more than another room (however, the teens that were/still are living in the mansion adored the room). Surely taking this attractive, young female over to the billionaire's huge theater room would make their date even that more entertaining.
So there Bruce Wayne sat. In the lobby of his headquarters, awaiting to take one of his employees out for a date to his house. Bruce Wayne; the owner of the company yet the biggest playboy Gotham city had ever seen. Bruce patiently drummed his fingers on his lap, his time in the lobby being pleasantly entertained by the soft jazz emitted from the high-quality speakers (owned by Waynetech). The billionaire awaiting for his movie-date.

He definitely looked better in person, but she was at work, and she was still proving to all the old bastards in the room that she had gotten the promotion because she was the best fit for the jump and not just because she had the best legs in the building. Which she so totally did, and yes she did know it. Didn't stop her from taking a good long glance though when she was sure no one was paying attention. Gorgeous man, but she had to wonder what exactly he was doing that always had him running off since it never seemed to make the papers. Well, Eve couldn't really find a reason to complain, the absence made it so she was essentially tossed in something of the top spot, which she didn't mind at all. The woman did love the money, the attention, and just the job itself really, and it was the love of the job that made her keep herself to herself as opposed to hitting the playboy like the man eater that she was. Or she tried at least. Honestly the woman did try, every time she was left in a room with the man she had managed to keep herself to herself, but when she was invited to movies at his manor, well. Who said no to their boss? Especially when their boss happened to be Bruce Wayne himself? Of course she agreed, and had essentially killed herself just ticking off the days and hoping that she didn't make a total ass of herself. Which was why it was pretty hilarious, in her mind at least, that on the day in question Eve was so distracted by paperwork that she had lost track of time, until an intern came rushing in her office to tell her that the boss man himself was sitting in the lobby waiting for her. Eve had never gotten downstairs faster in her life, smoothing out the tight black pencil skirt she was wearing, pulling her favorite coat on since the days had been getting chillier as of late and attempting to fix her wild brunette waves at the same time, "Mr. Wayne, so sorry to keep you waitin' I got caught up looking at these reports for an expansion in Metropolis someone signed off on before I was promoted," She was kind of iffy on the whole thing as she looked through it, but at the same time she was pretty sure that he didn't want to talk so much business and frankly neither did she right now, "Ready when you are sir," Eve said with a bit of a grin, ready for him to lead the way. "Mr. Wayne, can I get you anything?" The surprised clerk asked in a rather anxious and excited tone. People usually tensed up around Bruce Wayne, though Bruce could not have been more relaxed and non-formal than ever. It often made Bruce uncomfortable; Batman usually received the same reactions from people. Bruce Wayne, the celebrity playboy billionaire, was a role model to young men in their late teens and early twenties and bachelors. If he wasn't between a girl's legs then he was somewhere in a V.I.P lounge. Maybe that swagger that Bruce emitted made him intimidating and envied. Bruce could care less though; this was only a facade. An envied facade, but a facade nonetheless. "No, that's fine." Bruce said with a reassuring smile, crossing his leg and patting his fingers on his knee. Where is she? He wondered. "Are you sure, Mr. Wayne? If you're thirsty, Aquafina just sent its shipment of water to our vending machine!"
Bruce plastered his award-winning smile onto his face and tried not to show a hint of being annoyed. He simply shook his head and placed up a hand, keeping his eyes down though feeling the clerk's eyes (and creepy smile), just waiting... watching... wanting to kiss the boss's ass. He started to grow a hatred for water now. Eve's taking a pretty long while. Bruce wondered, now taking out his Iphone and pretending to scroll through unused apps. He took one glance and smiled at the clerk -- still watching, still smiling. "I think I will take that water now, thanks." He stated, the sound of heels assaulting the marble floor of the lobby. Coming from the staircase behind him was the person which he was waiting half an hour for. The one whom he now entrusted many of Wayne Enterprises affairs to: Eve Amherst. She was gorgeous. She had impeccable work ethic and most importantly, the boss would be taking her out for a movie at his mansion. Sure, some rumors would circulate around the office, but then again Bruce Wayne faced a series of rumors all the time. Eve could possibly learn a thing or two from the billionaire celebrity.
She began to explain her being late, after hearing her reasons, Bruce giving out a light-hearted chuckle. Bruce Wayne was rarely present for the boring, technical process of Wayne Enterprises; he would sit in board meetings (whenever he felt the need to), attend public events and promote Wayne Enterprises, though the monotonous contract signing and paperwork was something the boss almost never got to see. So hearing it from Eve gave him a small taste on what many of his employees had to go through -- maybe they should all see a movie at his house? When they all had a body like Eve Amherst, then it would be considered.
"Expansion in Metropolis? Hm, I think I read a paragraph on a contract about that; ah, I think that was the same day I met Superman. Thanks for your hard work, Miss Amherst." Bruce said, trying to sound interested in her excuse. However, business was not a topic that Bruce hoped to have arise in their afternoon date; it was hard to just stay awake during the board presentations. Bruce stood next to Eve, the tall and chiseled physique of the billionaire complimenting her good looks and flowing brown hair.
"Alfred's waiting right outside," Bruce stated, wrapping his arm around Eve's waist and escorting her on their way outside of the lobby, before being stopped by the same clerk holding the water bottle. Bruce shyly accepted the gift, acknowledged the clerk by name and led Eve outside of the building, offering her the bottled beverage as they drew nearer to the Rolls Royce driven by Bruce's butler.
Inside the limo, Bruce sat next to Eve and began to break the ice by engaging in small talk. Bruce Wayne only knew as much as Eve placed down on her resume (and also from seeing her in the office and in board meetings), though that absolutely wasn't enough. Bruce Wayne had a hunger for knowledge and was not satisfied just knowing the bare minimum about the people around him. He relaxed in the fine-leather seats as his soft, blue eyes met Eve's. A white, toothy smile showed his interest in her.
"So, Miss. Amherst, tell me about yourself. Liking your new position at Wayne Enterprises, liking Gotham itself?" Bruce asked, unsure if she was a native Gothamite or not. As Alfred drove, Bruce's eyes widened and his face glowed as he gladly pointed at the monorail zooming by, its destination: all over Gotham.
"I remember traveling on that monorail with my father, years ago. There's been so much change in Gotham; its stunning." Bruce said, watching the monorail zoom by, a rush of nostalgia coming towards him.
"So, about yourself, Miss. Amherst?" Bruce asked, this time, listening with nothing but the utmost interest.

But she was mentally reprimanding herself for leaving her hot boss to sit and wait because she had forgotten because she was busy looking over obnoxious pieces of paperwork. And the worst part was that a section of her overly analytical mind was still focusing on it, and still thinking over some of the pieces and facts that she had just read, even though she was looking at said hot boss right at that moment. Seriously brain, enough with the work ethic, just stop long enough for her to enjoy hanging out with the golden boy of Gotham himself without having elderly board members surrounding and staring at them at the same time, "You met Superman?" Eve was fascinated by vigilantes and superheroes and the like, "Is he as apple pie as the news makes him out to be?" The brunette always wanted to know, Superman sounded like such a boyscout, which wasn't really a bad thing she supposed. The woman just wasn't used to the idea of nice guys like that. Not being from Gotham at least. Eve let herself be lead out into the cool night air and took a deep breath, plucking the bottle from his grasp with a thanks. The fresh air was lovely after being stuck in the office all day, not that she stopped to marvel at it too long, her attention instead called to Royce parked out in front of them, "Rolls Royce, very nice," Her brother would murder her if he found out she managed to get her ass in a Rolls Royce before he did, she couldn't help but let a hand glide along the smooth metal before slipping in, a momentary Cheshire smile on her face at the thought of rubbing this into her brother's face later. The moment Eve had opened her mouth to reply, she found herself getting quiet again at the look on his face, listening to him talk about the monorail. Of course she knew what had happened to his parents, it was common knowledge to everyone that lived in Gotham, so she let him have that nostalgic moment, "I'm lovin' my job, having the chance to be able to work on so much, having anything I might need to make ideas come to life at my finger tips, it's better then I could have ever imagined," Eve really did love her job, the passion showed in every word. "I'm a Gotham native though, lived in the Bowery most of my life with my twin brother and grandparents, found out I had a genius level IQ when I was still young, decided that was my ticket to a better life," It wasn't the best life, in fact it was pretty terrible, but she was quite proud to have made it from where she had been to where she was now, something not many people could say they managed to do, "I think.....hmm, I wanna say that things have been gettin' a bit better in Gotham, a few big hiccups sure, but considering where it was, and how people are a little less afraid to step outside now, I'd say that's a big improvement," Looking out the widow, Eve watched as everything passed and shook her head, the thoughts just felt a little too heavy at the moment. "You can just call me Eve by the way. Anyway, I don't know what to say really," She had to grin a little, it wasn't every day she found herself stuck for words, Eve was just going to blame it on that damnable million dollar smile he had stuck her with, "I'm sure you know, I spend a lot of time at work, aside from that I'm a big sports fan and I don't think there's much better then a good book on a rainy day," Eve didn't think telling him that she had a habit of going out drinking and breaking hearts was a good idea, so she decided to just leave that out, which made her sound relatively normal, "How about yourself Mr. Wayne? I don't put much stock in tabloids, I'd rather just ask the man himself." [style=padding: 0px 15px; font-size: smaller;] Words: 738 Music: Be My Lover - Alice Cooper Outfit: ClickNotes: 83 [/style] |

Bruce Wayne was known for being quite the charmer; especially in his youth as he was blantly irressistable towards women. The same was to be said now: he still had the charming swagger and playboy-quality about him which attracted beautiful women. Charming his co-worker and new interest would be second nature to Bruce, even if he knew that he would have to keep layers upon layers of secrets from her to preserve her safety. Secretly being Gotham's protecter did have its many disadvantages, however, Bruce accepted those disadvantages with the job. But the more that he looked at Eve, listened to her words and such, the more he enjoyed just being Bruce Wayne, if even for one night. If anything, he would be sure that this one night was truly one that would not be forgotten.
To answer her question, Bruce simply nodded, showing a highly-interested face. Meeting Superman (actually meeting him, rather than getting saved by him) would be a monumental event for anyone citizen, so it was only natural that Bruce Wayne act amused by meeting the man of steel. However, the guy was as familiar to Bruce as seeing Alfred or Tim. Still, just to please Eve...
"Exactly as the papers make him out to be. He's really a model citizen; morally sound, bright, although his choice of colors are pretty bizarre." Bruce stated, placing his palm on his smooth chin before his hand met with Eve's waist. "If you'd like, you can meet him one of these days."
Hearing Eve talk about her job pleased Bruce; he had finally found someone with tenacious work ethics, trustworthy, and responsible enough to hold the face of Wayne Enterprises while the man-in-charge was usually 'out on business trips'. Surprisingly, she didn't ask Bruce Wayne about where he frequented vactations. Of course, it a well-crafted lie (complete with numerous alibis) would have been said, though many of W.E workers would have been dying to find out.
The conversation was being livened up with Eve telling Bruce her opinion on Gotham City; giving Bruce indirect compliments on both Wayne Enterprises' work financially and Batman's work physically. Not only did she give her honest opinion of the fine city, she treated Bruce to a brief explaination of her childhood and history, Bruce listening intently as his blue eyes burned bright with interest and curiosity. It seemed as though he was taking mental notes (and he was) of every tidbit and detail she shared with the billionaire. Bruce certainly found Eve interesting and attractive; two features which not only got her the job, but got her the Rolls ride towards Wayne manor. Once Bruce told Alfred that company would be arriving at the manor, Alfred was sure to change the drab and lonely look of the manor into something much more contemporary and upbeat to appease the lady. It pained Bruce to see his old friend go to such lengths to make his master happy, though Bruce was determined to make things work out tonight. After all, Bruce had juggled much more in his lifetime before, right?
The question Eve asked had Bruce taken back abit. She liked to snuggle up on a rainy day and get lost within a novel? While Bruce could not see him partaking in that calm activity anymore, he did not take Eve for the 'stay-indoors' type of gal. He let out a small chuckle and shrug. "Well then, Eve" he said, giving her name a bit of power and playfully poking her on her side, "we are polar opposites. What the tabloids say about me, for the most part, are true." He said, shyly dragging his finger on the window, pretending to be embarrassed.
"I mean, except for the playboy, womanizer remarks. That's just celebrity slander. According to those tabloids, I'm worse than Lohan." He stated. He looked outside of the window: in the clearing, outside of Gotham city limits, stood the ancient and massive manor belonging to the billionaire. As the Royce drove along the stone path leading towards the front driveway, Bruce flashed a smile to Eve.
"It's less noisy than a regular theater, trust me."

That's.......quaint in a way," Eve wasn't used to coming across the boyscout types, having grown up in Gotham and around her brothers idiot friends. The kind that always tried acting like macho meat heads like that was going to impress a girl, it was to the point that she thought those apple pie morally upright types where just a myth, "Yeah I don't know what's up with that red and blue, those.....underwear shorts things specifically," The guy really didn't have much in the way of a fashion sense, but at least he was cute enough that it could be overlooked, "Hm, nah I think I'll just take your word for it," Eve said with a bit of a grin, moving into the touch just the slightest bit. Boyscouts just didn't seem all that fun to her, and she wasn't a Superman fangirl aside from just finding him a handsome sort of super-guy. But enough about a guy that seemed a bit too good to be true, she was sitting next to a man right now that was definitely too good to be true but still very much in the flesh right next to her, which Eve really didn't mind, boss or not. The woman tried not to mix business with pleasure, but damn if rules just had to be broken every now and then, which was definitely true when a Rolls Royce was involved. She really couldn't get over the fact that she was sitting in this particular car at the moment, and damn was it a nice ride. What was really interesting though, was the fact that Bruce actually seemed to be paying attention to her. Even with her brains, even with her stature, all most guys did was pick a body part to stare at and focus on that for the remainder of a conversation, but he seemed to genuinely be paying attention, to actually want to hear what she was saying. It was kind of a turn on actually, to have a guy paying attention to what she was saying for once, just because it was......different, and she liked different. Eve jumped at the poke, hand coming up to her mouth to cover the squeak, she was ticklish after all. Shooting him a momentary glare Evie soothed her ruffled feathers, "Don't get me wrong, I like going out to a good party every now and then, and I can drink a man under the table, but I work too much to be doing that all the time," Which was solid truth, she didn't like getting wasted if she had work to do, and she usually had work to do, "So you actually go spelunking then?" She couldn't say she saw any reason for anyone to want to go venture into a cave to go exploring, but to each their own, "Cause I'm open to a lot, and I do love trying new things," And oh no that wasn't totally laced with a double meaning there, and she hadn't just sent him a grey eyed side glance to get the point across, "But I think spelunking might be where I draw a line," The brunette added lightly, humor lacing her words as she failed to suppress a smile. "Really? Because my God do they make you sound like a regular Don Juan," How interesting, granted he could have just been saying that, most people didn't exactly own up to that sort of thing, Eve decided she was just going to have to wait and see if that was the case. Her attention was pulled out the window though as she watched the manor loom over them, "That is one hell of a house you have there," She said with an appreciative eye, Evie could remember when she was younger always being rather jealous of the huge manor, had always wondered what it would have been like to grow up in a place that grand as opposed to the run down rowhouse in the Bowery. "Private theater I take it? You sure know how to spoil a girl," She meant that too, Eve loved watching movies, and was probably borderline willing to murder for a private theater, the idea of a big screen without the random people in the theater talking and playing with their cellphones, dare she really dream? The woman had to genuinely smile back, she couldn't wait to see this, already grabbing her purse and ready to follow him out of the car, "You really don't do things small huh?" Not that she could find a reason to complain. [style=padding: 0px 15px; font-size: smaller;] Words: 787 Music: Be My Lover - Alice Cooper Outfit: ClickNotes: 83 [/style] |
