.....................................................................
Full Name: Peter Jason Quill
Code Name: Star Lord
Age: 31
Date of Birth: April 1
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual (Essentially, he'll love anything, no matter what it is)
Species: Human-alien crossbreed, with cybernetic implants
Alliance: Freelance Hero
Citizenship: Marvel
Canon or Original?: Canon

And if you had any hair I'd take that too!"
And if you had any hair I'd take that too!"
Hair: Sort of a light brown. Borderline red. It's unkempt from spending many years in low-gravity environments. Yet it's still relatively short. About neck-length
Eyes: They're a mix of grey and green. There's a ring of light brown around his pupil. His eyes are a cresent shape, or a "U" if you wish to use the term.
Height: 6 feet 1 inch
Weight: 179 lbs
Distinguishing Marks: If one looks closely, they would be able to see some of the circuitry that went into his bionic eyes on his eyelids. It's not very distinctive, though. He has a scar on the back of his scalp from where his brain implants went in.
Appearance: Star Lord gives off the impression of being a weary traveller. Probably because he is. He's quite well built because of his astronaut training, and the fact that his career brings him a decent share of combat. He could almost be classed as an athlete. In terms of costume, he wears the apparently traditional garb of a Star Lord.

Personality: If there was a word to describe Peter Quill, it would be "rogueish". Never staying in one place for too long, Quill is a very respectable man, despite some actions he took during his time at NASA. When he makes a promise, he tends to keep it, even if it doesn't benefit him in any way. In terms of romance, he will literally flirt with anything that moves. When one has spent 9 years travelling the deepest depths of space, interacting only with alien life, it is good to be open-minded.
Beneath all the good, however, lies a man filled with uncertainty and regret. Regret for not being able to help his mother and brother, uncertainty about his father and his role as Star Lord. There are times when he simply cannot comprehend the enormity of his past and mission. And it scares him.
"With great power comes great responsibility"
Powers: Star Lord's only powers are his cybernetic implants in his eyes and brain. The ones in his eyes allow him to see the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from X-ray to ultraviolet. The neural implant gives him 100% complete recall ability. "Total recall", if one prefers. His half-alien physiology gives Peter a little bit of tolerance to alien atmospheres, provided there is a small trace of oxygen in them.
Weapons Star Lord is armed with a pair of Kree submachine guns, which can fire several different forms of ammunition, such as explosive rounds, plasma rounds, sonic bullets, etc. In terms of equipment, he is in possession of a Kree-made espionage-battle suit. The suit auguments Star Lord's strength, speed and durability and is airtight, so he can travel through space. He can also fly through the suit. The helmet of the suit can act as a universal translator. It can also analyse strategy data, improve Star Lord's vision and regulate oxygen for non-oxygen-breathing planets and space.
Strengths/Abilities: (at least 3)
On his own, Star Lord is a great problem solver and tactician. He is an expert in the field of alien cultures, having knowledge of many alien customs, languages and cultures. Yes, this includes firearms. He is master of Sumai, a martial art originating in the Pleiades.
Weaknesses: (at least 2)
For all his expertise, Star Lord is ultimately human. Mortal flesh and blood. His suit doesn't make him invulnerable, and he can most definitely be killed. Bringing up his past is also a touchy subject. His knowledge on alien technology is very limited, so don't expect him to be able to fix a Xarthian Quantum Dreadnaught's port engines. The helmet can't protect him from psychic or magic attacks, making him that little bit more vulnerable to that kind of power.

History: Peter Quill was born on the night of an unusual astronomical event, when all the planets in the solar system aligned. He had no father, so was raised by his mother, until she died when he was four. She died in childbirth, and the baby died as well. He never even got to ask who his father He was, from that moment forth, Peter Quill the orphan. He was sent to a New York orphanage where was taken care of well enough. He had always admired astronauts as a boy and garnered an interest in space from an early age. In fact, he even recalls hearing a voice coming from the stars one night. Then again, he was only 7 and may have been imagining it. His desire to actually become an astronaut stayed with him all his teenage life, where he studied to enter NASA.
He succeeded, and was taken on as a trainee astronaut. As part of his training, he and several other trainees were sent to a moon base to live life in space for a short while. A small asteroid crashed on the moon, so Peter and another astronaut were sent to examine it. It turned out that it wasn't an asteroid at all, but an alien spacecraft, that was a little bit damaged. Inside, there was an alien lifeform who was also injured. It died when Peter and the colleague brought it inside the base, but not before it called Peter "son", confusing him. Upon analysis of the dead alien, the astronauts found that a few strands of the alien's DNA were identical to some of Peter's DNA strands. In particular, the genes passed along from the father. More thorough testing confirmed the group's suspicions. This alien was indeed Peter's biological father.
Peter was most definitely shocked by this turn of events. Being a little bit younger and less mature at the time, his first thought was on his mother being seduced by an alien. Then it turned to him. He was officially half-alien. What could he do? He couldn't go back to Earth. The other astronauts would blab and he'd be locked up for testing. His only option was to run. But where? The ship. It was his only option. At night, he left the base, and crossed to the damaged ship, getting inside. At Peter's touch, the ship's systems came back online, and Peter was transported by the ship to the nearest inhabited moon. Titan. The ship's last destination. Upon his arrival, Peter was greeted by the Kree, who gave him two things. A breathing device, and some information on his father. Peter's father, also called "Jason of Spartax", had filled the role of "Star Lord", a righter of intergalactic wrongs. Since the role was meant to be passed on through direct bloodline, Peter was due to inherit the title. Before he could, Peter had to pass a trial of skill and courage. He had to fight and defeat 100 robotic enemies on his own, with the Star Lord gear. The only problem was, Peter had no experience in combat.
He was given a grace period of four months to prepare for the trial, during which he was trained in basic Sumai and firearms. It was during this period that he was fitted with his neural and ocular implants. When the day of the trial came, he was presented with the Star Lord costume and sent to the far side of Titan, where 100 robots waited for him. Using the pair of submachine guns the Kree had provided him, and his knowledge of Sumai, Peter gunned down all who stood in his way. The Kree granted him the status of Star Lord, and let him have his pick of the shipyards. Peter chose a durable star transport, and left Titan for the other galaxies. He hasn't set foot on Earth for 9 years.

Writing Sample:
"Peter Jason Quill. You have completed the trials." A great Kree, outfitted in robes of royalest green and holding a golden staff, announced. "On the behalf of the Kree, I, Ronan, the 997th Accuser, formally recognise you as Star Lord."
Peter himself was knelt on the ground, clutching the submachine guns, and was surrounded by a great pile of machine corpses. He was breathing deeply, the sounds of each breath distorted by his helmet.
"As your "reward" for completing the trial, you have free choice of any and all Kree shipyards." Ronan the Accuser continued. "Choose any ship you wish. It is yours."
"Thank you, Accuser." Peter said, trying to keep his voice clear and controlled. The trial had taken a lot out of him. "I will try and make a good choice."
"I'm through talking, get out of my cave,"
