He ordered the whiskey as he sat down in the small booth away from the main crowds of the bar. He was meant to be meeting someone here but he doubted they'd show up, he didn't really want them too. It was some horrible reporter from some powerful LA newspaper who wanted to scoop on him being a 'gay icon' and trying to cram as many adjectives about his beauty in as they could. He'd told them he was feeling rough and that they should cancel and meet up later, thankfully they'd dropped it and he didn't expect to see the bastard. The whiskey slipped down his throat quickly and helped to sooth some of the raw pain from his injuries. He probably should have seen a doctor about them but he didn't really want to have to explain the bruises, he was only meant to be in LA for press reasons, not to fight crime. He sighed and ordered another drink, one hand running through his hair, the other tugging nervously at the shirt he was wearing.
He could always go back to the hotel, get a good night's sleep and shit. But he just wasn't in the mood, he wanted to drink some of the pain away and get on the quickest flight back to New York possible. A girl from across the bar winked at him and he only raised an eyebrow, it wasn't his fault he wasn't interested in women, men were just so much sexier...

Vicki sighed as she entered the bar. She had originally come to L.A to do a story on one of the many superheroes, but had gotten blown off, so now here she was in L.A, no story, and $600 poorer thanks to her plane ticket. She sighed and took a seat next to a guy who looked fairly familar and rather annoyed. She shook her head and turned to the bar tender. "I'll have a martini please." she said giving the man a smile and leaned back in her chair taking a look around the bar.
She smiled and took a sip as soon as her drink was brought over to her, and noticed a rather attractive girl trying to flirt with the man next to her. "I think she's trying to get you'r attention" she said and took another sip of her drink, and then turned to the man. "I'm Vicki by the way, Vicki Vale, I'm a reporter at the Gotham Gazette." she said deciding introducing herself would be the polite thing to do. She took another sip of her drink and brushed some of her fiery locks out of her face and waited for the man to introduce himself.

He stretched, his muscles aching and his body clicking slightly. He gritted his teeth and took another drink though, not letting the pain get to him. A woman came and sat down next to him and ordered a martini, a good choice, he approved. She looked annoyed, probably let down by someone, he briefly wondered if it was a guy. The girl looked over at him, clearly having noticed the woman trying desperatly to flirt with him. He smiled at her as he responded. 'Yes, she really doesn't seem to be getting the message...' He gave a slight sigh and rolled his eyes, but in a friendly way. 'Vicki? What a lovely name...' He turned on the charm again, he did love talking to people. A reporter? Interesting, what's your specialist subject then, Vixen? He took the bold step of giving her the nickname ten seconds into the conversation. Keegan Slate, I run a photography company. He held his hand out, for a half second forgetting the icey cold of his skin, he really hoped she didn't notice it, that would just be a bit awkward.
