"Victory is MINE Baldy!
And if you had any hair I'd take that too!"
And if you had any hair I'd take that too!"
Hair: It changes at times, but generally remains brown, blonde, or somewhere between the two. He likes to have a proper amount of hair, however, as something different needs to be done with it fairly regularly, and there should be enough left to mix around. If it looks as though he has shaved off part of his head, most likely it is some kind of bald-cap wig of some kind, which he also does seem to wear. He wants to keep his hair at that average length.
Eyes: They are blue-green, and they are also quite odd to look into. He seems to lust for something, but that thing will change every time. There are a few good ways to get him to listen and pay attention…but it’s a bit harder to keep his eyes focused unless there’s something he definitely wants on the thing in question, or if it’s the thing that he wants.
Height: 5’ 10’’
Weight: 170 pounds
Distinguishing Marks: He doesn’t really have anything like that on his body. It’s a bit of a mystery why his skin is actually completely clear like that, but the best way to notice him is to find the most eccentric man in the crowd. Most likely he’ll be attempting to take a small child’s bear because it intrigues him. Or he’ll even be giving out small bears that move and walk and talk to children. The parents appreciate that less than they should, but it doesn’t seem to bother him.
Appearance: He wears only the most fashion-forward items, but all with their own little twist. Most are brand-name, but he has a few self-made clothes and accessories that actually bite other people if they try to take them. Let’s just say it’s a bit of a complicated thing. In any case, he does have a very large wardrobe, and clothes of all makes and sizes. He even has a few dresses from the more adventurous phase of his life. The male isn’t overly muscular. Yes, he’s fit, but only from the fact that he works so hard every day. Sometimes he makes other people do it, but hates letting other people touch boxes of material that he needs to bring to his work station in the back of the store. None of his clothes will include “just a plain old suit.” As he doesn’t need to impress anyone. The work he does is rather important to many people. He would be just as willing to help shield as he would help villains who intend harm, but he will tell neither side who they deal with. So, he just dresses as he wishes. As long as the work gets done, no one really cares that much.

"I’m not interested in making new friends,
I don’t even like the ones I have”
I don’t even like the ones I have”
Likes: Interestingly shaped or colored outfits, exotic styles for making teddy bears, innovative designs and plans for toys of all kind, weapons that preform many bizarre tasks that may or may not be actually useful, and definitely odd requests that people think he won’t be able to accomplish.
Dislikes: Being unable to accomplish anything at all, having to tell people twice that the same thing needs to get done, those who want “Just a plain, not moving” teddy bear, anyone ever who ever even dares ask him for a simple military-issued gun. The idea of selling something so plain and bulky, as well as ugly looking, makes him utterly repulsed, and the bears will throw the person in question out immediately. Things that are unnecessarily bedazzled with little to no previous planning of the bedazzling that would be occurring.
Personality: His personality is definitely not something widely accepted in all circles. He has a few different moods that really determine his overall mentality. His general mood is one that he basically stays in. He calls himself Curio more often than not in this mood. He calls himself curio in the other moods as well, but convinces himself that each time he says “Curio” it’s pronounced just slightly different. However, it is very rude of you to ask how different it is, as he’s a busy man, and why have you interrupted him? Curio can be rather crazy and a bit mental here. He gets giddy and excited at every new toy, and retains a child-like appearance and activity level. Since he owns one of the best toy stores in New York city, and an equally well-established on in Gotham, he’s had plenty of time to remain a child while he works.
His serious mode generally occurs when he’s actually making something that he needs to focus on. For instance, each one of his teddy bears is hand-made so that he can infuse it with a little bit of personality and spice. Some of the bears take more effort than others. His display bears are controlled by him, and those take a little less effort than just ones with generic personalities. There are those that take a lot more time, as he makes them able to listen to another person besides himself. That does take a bit more to build, and he has to have a bit of time to make these custom orders. Those who want to custom order one had also better be able to pay a good amount of money for them. In this serious mode, he is very protective and loyal to those who he implicitly trusts. Currently, he doesn’t have really anyone who fits that description.
Another part of this particular male is that he takes things that intrigue him or that he wants. Sometimes this follows a set of morals of some kind, but he mostly will just…commandeer items for his own use. This actually happens on more occaisions than one might think. He’s incredibly wealthy, and generally it doesn’t take that much to get what he really does want. Sometimes he’ll even take a homeless person in, just because he wants to use their personality as a muse for creating their next teddy bear. No one really knows what happens in that toy store to those people, but they come out and suddenly become successful. Overnight super-stars.
The last part of his rather complex mentality deals with his very weak, very vulnerable side. This shows itself at odd moments. Things seem to scare him, and he doesn’t want to leave the safety of his workroom. It takes a very soothing voice to tell him that things are okay. He gets to be a bit scary, and can be suddenly aggressive and violent if you try to forcibly remove him from this safe place. It’s generally alright to assume that you’ll be fine if he falls asleep.

Powers:This mutation is slightly odd, and he has no idea how it actually works in truth, but it does. Any material that the man hand sews together can have its’ own personality and be able to do things just like a human can do. He generally only let’s this happen with humanoid like things, for instance, his most popular toys are bears and dolls that can walk, talk, and do what they want. He can also inscribe a bit of himself or someone else in the bears so that they can do what they want, yes, but the will also follow directions from a certain person. Those bears are custom ordered, and take a bit longer to do. His mutation cannot create life, but so long as the stitching remains intact these animals will continue to be what some might call alive. If someone were to rip off the stitching of the bears, they become ordinary. In that case, you only need to bring it back to him and he does repairs. In order to avoid that, many put their bears in some kind of suit or outfit to protect them from damage. There are many kinds of bears he makes. Some are very very nice, and are intended as a best friend. Other’s are house-hold helpers. They can clean up any mess, and come with their own cleaning kit. There are bears meant for younger kids that will go to sleep at seven o clock at night, and wake up at the same time in the morning, and then there are those with specific personalities to match the older children. It’s the same with dolls as well. His whole toy store has things that move and wriggle and don’t need batteries. When you ask him for a custom order, however…the things can get more sinister. Maybe you want a custom bear that won’t hesitate to cause destruction? How about a knife with a sewn leather handle that bites other people if they try to touch it. Anything sinister, and anything helpful you can dream of will be found at Curiou’s shop.
Weapons Generally, if he needs a weapon, he will make it himself. When he wants to use something, he’ll use a leather sewn whip. It does have personality, and unfortunately he was still learning his mutation when he made it, so at times it will actually refuse to whip at someone, and then he’s put into quite a pickle. His bears also help out in some of the fights.
Strengths/Abilities: Sewing, using his mutation, making small children happy at the same time as making a huge amount of money.
Weaknesses: Focusing on only one project at a time, sewing things that are ugly together. He feels physically ill for some reason.
"All it takes is one bad day to reduce
the sanest man alive to lunacy,"
the sanest man alive to lunacy,"
History: He was born into an elitist family. His parents were two rather influential people who’s marriage was really only meant to produce heirs for both industries who were responsible. It was really not meant to be a lasting, huge deal of a marriage. They merely signed a marriage agreement down at the city hall, and moved into a rather large mansion. Their first child was an older brother of Curio’s, and he was named “Frederick.” Curio’s name was actually supposed to be Jason, and they did indeed register his name as that when he was born. His father and mother believed that it was more proper for him to be called that, and at their get together events it was always Jason. There were many of those events pretty much every day.
Jason was brought up not by his parents but by his nanny. His nanny was a guy, one of the few guy nannies he’d ever met. This nanny was the best person he’d ever met. He called Jason his “Little Curio.” And ruffled his hair every time he said that. This nanny was the one who made his clothes, cut his hair, and took care of just him. His older brother had his own nanny as well, as the parents wanted each child brought up right. He was taught how to play piano, violin, and the flute. Each instrument was supposed to represent class and elegance. When his parents weren’t looking, he was also given guitar lessons, as his nanny felt like playing the guitar for a girl was a lot cooler than busting out a tune on the flute. It was around this time, when he was ten or a eleven, when he started to question the idea of impressing girls. Girls were stupid and wore too much make-up. Guys? Guys were pretty awesome and they didn’t need to wear make-up to look good.
That wasn’t something he ever shared with anyone, knowing that he would have to grow up to be the husband of someone from the group that would help manage affairs of his parent’s companies. Then his nanny told him something as he was getting the child to bed. He told his little curio that the boy could be whatever he wanted to be. As soon as he went off to college, he could become what he wanted to be, and it didn’t matter what his parents thought. True, the nanny probably wasn’t supposed to put ideas into Curio’s head about that sort of thing, but the boy had already decided. He said “When I grow older, I’m changing my name to curio.” He looked towards his nanny, and the nanny smiled an odd sort of smile as he tucked the child beneath the covers.
Middle school brought new challenges. His mutation came about at the end of eighth grade, and he only told his Nanny what was happening every time he tried to sew things. The nanny taught him more about sewing, and they discovered together what he could do. The two of them were best of friends even through high school, where the Nanny allowed him to dress better and more different from the parent-required outfits. His father got angry and told his son that he would fire the boy’s nanny. That set Curio over the edge right away. He went to his nanny and told the male that as soon as he was done with high school, he was bringing his nanny with him. They were going to stay together.
This nanny was shocked, and looked at the boy he’d grown to care for, then pat his head. He agreed…and did his best to support Curio as he scraped around for enough money to start his own store. When he did…the popularity of his items skyrocketed. His obsession with toys was apparent, but most likely because he didn’t have a chance to play with them when he was younger. His nanny is still alive and well, though is getting on in his age. Curio officially had his name changed as soon as he reached eighteen, and cut all ties with his family. He doesn’t really know if they’re alive or dead, though they do still have him in their will. His nanny lives in a loft apartment in New York City, and oftentimes Curio will spend nights with him when feeling insecure.
