Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Peter Parker picked a peck of pickled peppers...
Honestly, an entire city of people and everyone was eating peppers but him? Peter had to check four grocery marts before he found the last item on Aunt May's list, and three times along the way he was delayed by petty thefts (and one car chase). Could crime sleep for just ONE night so he could buy groceries like a normal person? He had to buy eggs again on the second stop when they broke after he was slammed into a garbage truck. When he finally found those damn peppers he was exhausted. Being Spider-Man made it easy for him to swing from one end of the city to the other, but Pete would be lying if he said he wasn't tired. He ended up choosing to take a conventional subway train home. God, it must have been late. There was not a single passenger on his car with him. Curious, for a big city like New York, but he was entirely too out of it to care. Peter sat down with a loud sigh, setting his bag of groceries to the side and taking his father's glasses off for a moment to rub the sides of his face.
He felt safe enough to talk aloud so plainly. "Ugh... you would think with all these freaking capes running around New York, a guy could take a day off to buy eggs every now and then?" Peter said to an invisible audience. Between his nightly patrols of the city, school, Gwen (if he could call the time they spent together recently quality), and work; it was safe to say he was a sleepy little spider.

Loki had been keeping track of things, Mostly things pertaining to the group known as Shield or the Avengers. Mostly the avengers though. It seemed though in the past few weeks a rather particular individual had caught their eye and by turn then trickster's own. It was a one Peter Parker or better known as Spider man to the general public. It had been rather simple to track the blue and red spider down, plant several small scale crimes. Decoys if one may, watch the young superhero react. And he did not disappoint.
No matter.
The Demi-god appeared out of nothing but thin air across from the mortal on the train. "I suppose one could, If you were not of interest to several people" He spoke as he adjusted the collar of his typical leather attire before he propped his long leg up on his knee and leaned forward to watch for the reaction of the young man.

Peter jumped noticeably in his seat at the sight of this costumed person. Seriously, what was THAT? "WOAH. Where did you come from!?" Fudge. The eggs broke again. His nose twitched irritably at the sight of broken yolk on the subway train floor. Peter hoped this was a friendly hallucination because he was NOT in the mood for a fight right now. He was still sitting down, but was adjusting his muscles slightly to leap into action if need be. Something was telling him that this guy dressed in all green was not a friendly character. Spidey-senses and all that jazz.
"H-how do you know people are interested in me? Who are you?" the surprise and slight fear wasn't hidden in his voice. If this Wizard of Oz fellow knew about his recent run-in with the Avengers, it couldn't have been just a simple coincidental house call.

He could not help but smirk at the young man's jump of surprise, the masked confusion and fear. "Where I came from is of no concern to you. How I got here... I think is a more appropriate question. That however I will answer in time. " Loki leaned forward noticing the man's change in posture.
Now any attempt to attack me is highly unadvised. I am not your enemy, Parker." He stated bluntly. As much as a destructive person that he was. Not all the time did Loki go looking for fights. In fact most of the time he did his best to avoid them at all costs. The words that followed however were but a lie.
"I am sure you have heard of my Brother Thor. In fact you are looking to join the Avengers are you not?" He paused for a moment, a split second, wondering which hand to play "What I need is your help if you will hear me out."

Oh great, Oz knew his name too? If he knew that then the guy probably already knew that he moonlighted as the spider. So much for secret identity.. He tried to relax and sit back, but it wasn't easy to feel calm around this man. Most people tended to call first before dropping in like that. Peter did have a cell phone, after all. Wherever this guy came from, he was sure it was somewhere that didn't have signal.
"I..I haven't decided yet..." this was true. Spider-Man still hadn't made up his mind about joining the Avengers if that first meeting counted as an invitation. There were still so many factors to consider- Aunt May, Gwen, school... Spidey wasn't even sure if he liked the idea of working on a team, much less the hours and drop-everything-an-go missions he'd be getting if he joined Stark, Cap, and company.
"Brother of Thor... Brother of Thor.. So your dad is Odin..?" now was not the time for Peter to be forgetting his norse mythology. "Yeah, I know him. Well, I haven't met him exactly, but- yeah. He save the city a while back when I was a kid.. Were you there too?" Peter was actually in the city that day when New York was invaded by aliens. He was on a field trip to the museum with his school. It was kind of a hazy memory he had to admit. After Captain America got them out of the school bus they mostly sat around the subway and waited, listening to the explosions above in fear.
Somebody needed his help? Well, that definitely triggered something in Peter. He leaned in slightly to listen, ignoring the egg yolk and the groceries and all the other questions on his mind. He gave Loki a slow nod to continue, still unsure what to make of this whole situation. "Alright.. I'll bite. Uh, what's your name again?"
It was question after question with Pete, because let's be honest, if a demi-god appeared on the subway in front of you suddenly you'd be asking questions too.

"I see" Loki stated soberly at the young man before him. How could one with so much potential be in so trying of positions. So doubtful of one's self. This weakness was a keen thing that Loki could be hone in on and use to his dark advantages.
Loki inwardly seethed at the name of Odin, how he hated the elder god. "Yes, he is. and Yes, I was. " Parker did not need to know that Loki was indeed the cause of it all. That he had been grand master that orchestrated the entire endeavor as a mere ruse.
"Join them, Spiderman, Become an Avenger, And help me keep track on the technology they have. We Asgardians are trying to prevent the mortals from gaining access to other realms, Lest the incidents of the past repeat themselves. We do not need our enemies to find out about this little rock"

"Let's say I do join them, all you'd want me to do is grab intel, double check-make sure they aren't holding anything that can jump between worlds," he paused there, thinking about the consequences of such a thing. Crossing worlds.. "It's not a small world after all, Peter Parker.." he mumbled to himself, unsure that he had actually voiced his thoughts aloud. "....And then what?" destroy it? Turn against the Avengers? Just what did this man want truly?
"Hold the payphone.. You want me to spy on the Avengers? If Thor is your brother why don't you just ask him?" It seemed reasonable enough for him to ask. Peter actually felt a bit put off by the thought of playing the fly on the wall for this figure. A superhero spying on another superhero, much less the Avengers, it just seemed wrong. This character was becoming more and more suspicious by the minute.

"Correct, We do not need mortals stirring trouble with giants. Your kind... How can I put this so eloquently Have a history of discovering new worlds with violence. We do not need the annihilation of the human race" Well, Loki could care less if they were standing or giant funeral pyres. Though such actions and underlying thoughts were but easy to hide.
Loki arched a brow at the man's suspicion. "Thor has chosen to turn his back upon his home to play hero amongst your kind. He is no longer privy to the inner working of Asgard. "

"Gee, thanks... But wouldn't an Asgardian be better suited for this gig?" Why get a human, as flawed as they were, to help him? Somehow, Peter felt the need to defend his people, but he didn't have any words. He took Loki's words silently. Something about this man was bewitching, he just sort of lured you in, but the other part of Peter was alarmed, call it spidey sense. Everything he was saying was checking out though; the god's story seemed straight, at least.
Peter reasoned if a big-bad-asgardian was asking for HIS help, then something was certainly up with the Avengers. Maybe they were up to something. After all, Peter was there during the invasion. He hated the thought of having something like that happen again. His previous suspicions were now directed at the Avengers. Why would they even want to play that game? From what Peter has witnessed of other worlds and outer space.. that stuff was meant to be away from Earth for a reason.
"I...I don't know.." he trailed off, clasping his hands together and leaning forward. Great. More decisions to make. Goodness, when was Peter going to get a chance to call the shots?
