Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

The fact that Bane had escaped Arkham with relative ease should have been no surprise to anyone the fact that he was all power and strength meant that he could virtually do anything that he wanted. Yet he knew that he had to make sure that everyone else knew what he knew and that was that he was a threat and a danger to everyone and anyone that was out in front of him, the best way that he had thought to do this was to call out that damn batman that others had seemed to fear Batman was not the one that should have been feared out of the two, Bane’s complete power and strength that he was something that he had which others didn’t because of the fact that he was just so damn big and powerful nothing could really control him why would they even want to try and take on the monstrous Bane in the first place he was so damn big that it wasn’t like many would stand up to him.
Recently re-pumped full of venom the giant from parts unknown had decided his plan easily breaking into the tv station that put shows on TV’s in Gotham he had been able to control of it easily, he had commandeered the channel and had Bird stand on camera and tell the Batman where he would meet the newest threat to Gotham city. Now he just had to wait for the bat to show he didn’t know if he would but he knew that if the Batman did have the chance of showing up he wouldn’t have the chance of surviving Bane.

Although admittedly, patrolling the streets of Gotham City was far from anything he had had in mind when he'd mentioned the desire for an uneventful, dare he say it, relaxing evening, even he had to admit that there were worse tasks that he could've been appointed.
And anyway, it wasn't all that bad, Robin found himself pointing out to himself as he looked down upon the ever-restless, bustling city that seemed to be illuminated by countless pinpricks of luminous incandescence that from his perspective almost seemed like they were wrapping the whole of Gotham in a protective web of energy, and despite himself found himself wondering whether the civilians actually ever slept. If he were to look on the positive side, despite his relentless scanning of the area for any sign of disturbance, only to move swiftly on to the next, at least there appeared to be no madmen who fancied themselves "villains" on the loose, and yet he still kept a wary eye out for a certain menace to society; a certain 'Bane,' who he had previously noted to have relatively recently managed to escape the confinement of Arkham Asylum, who incidentally, Robin had no intention whatsoever of coming into contact with if he could help it. And not to mention the fact that various other criminals had managed also to escape, the likes of the Joker being amongst them, although it didn't appear that said madmen were currently present, at that moment, in the otherwise peacefully uneventful city. Granted, he had come across the odd inevitable street fight here and there, but nothing that had required his intervention, which considering the crime-rate of the city in general, he was thankful for. He really could do without any form of "excitement" tonight, quite frankly.
Unfortunately, however such absent thoughts were soon proven to be nothing but just that; absent-minded wishful thinking, as he veered down, just low enough to see the ground level of the streets, and if he had done so a mere milisecond previously, he would have been just in time to see the screens of numerous televisions that sat in the window of an electronics store switch almost immediately from the News to a few moments of static, before finally the face of an unknown man who gave the obvious vibe that he was not supposed to be present eventually became visible on-screen, in that rather cliche, overly dramatic manner that those on the wrong side of the law seemed to find favourable.
This train of thought, however, was completely aborted almost as soon as it entered his mind, finding himself instead completely indifferent to the small crowds of people here and there, all but internally sighing and yet grimly transfixed to the screens that pictured the man in various sizes and varying forms, from HD to 3D, to LCD, all other thoughts completely banished from his mind, and if Robin wasn't completely alert before, his mind raced at the almost immediate reference to the Asylum escapee, Bane, who he recalled with frightening accuracy from hearing about past escapades from his mentor. After all, one wouldn't exactly be quick to forget the mention of such a man in conversation, both past and recent.
Almost as though something had immediately clicked at the mere sight of a potentially dangerous disruption to the otherwise mundane environment, his pace seemed to only increase as he all but sprinted in the direction of the location mentioned, reasoning that by now it was highly probable that at least Alfred, and if not the Batman himself, would be fully aware of the newly arisen situation. And if Batman was on his way, Robin of course had every reason to appear on the scene also, especially as he had been sent to patrol the streets for this exact purpose; to keep order in the city. He surely had a duty to offer his assistance, after all.

Bane was growing impatient he had thought that the Batman would have turned up by now but he hadn’t turned up yet, either others had allowed the fear of the batman to become too big or the man was simply a coward. Bane knew that he was powerful and imposing but he hadn’t even been in the shot he had allowed one of his workers to believe that he was important when in fact it had been Bane pulling all of the string and he wasn’t going to let anyone else take the credit for all of the work that he had been planning. He had been planning this since he had learnt of the batman and he was going to make sure that it had been planned to perfection.
He wasn’t going to make any mistakes, he made very few and something like this he couldn’t afford many. He didn’t even know how many people knew that he was in the US let alone Gotham and many that knew had wound up dead something that he had planned from the beginning only his own men had survived. He was going to make sure that the batman would know his name and if he was lucky he would be able to stop the batman tonight but he didn’t know how strong the batman was if he was being honest. After all most of his enemies had been weak and Bane would be able to stop them himself after all his sheer size and power gave him an advantage over most.
Waiting on the top of the building not far from the meeting point that he had told of he saw a young man in vigilante like attire arriving, he had positioned men around so that he could make sure that only he and the batman where alone from his position he spoke. “I get the feeling you are not the batman?”

Making his way down back alleys and darkened streets, Robin made a point of avoiding the increasing urge to take to the rooftops, if only to prevent the loss of time that he may or may not have to spare, which considering the reputation of the man in question, he very much doubted that he had. It was, after all, uncertain as to what exactly Bane's intentions were, as he doubted that he would go to such great extents simply to gain the attention of the Batman. Such reasoning behind hijacking every television in Gotham would be completely nonsensical, anyway.
Still, if he had had time to stop for a moment and fully consider the situation, Robin would perhaps have noticed that as he rounded the corner, birdarang already in hand and ready to strike at less than a moment's notice, a deep sense that perhaps, he was being watched.
It was only when he was forced to hesitate for a moment before a brick wall that he acknowledged his uncertainties, sensing a gnawing feeling in the back of the mind; almost an itch between his shoulders. In that single moment, he felt the impulse to turn around because, in the back of his mind he knew that there was somebody else nearby, silently cursing his own impulsiveness.
Even when he did turn about, to see nothing, his eyes were drawn to one particular spot, his suspiciouus gaze lingering a moment more than needed before aiming a grapple gun and launching himself over the wall, landing moments later atop a building, with the precision of an individual who had performed the maneuver countless times before.
Glancing back, he assured himself that there was absolutely nothing to see, however he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that on the other side of the wall was someone. His eyes would even "track the path" of the other person as they walked a path on the other side of the wall. Rationally speaking, he had no proof that anyone was there at all, but this is almost a psychic bond; he knew that there was somebody there. Hostile forces, at that.
And when the figure of a man appeared in his line of sight, Robin could imagine that sense of mild surprise surrounding the other, that he had detected him; this surely unnaturally tall and muscular being. But, how could he not know? He felt them; all the time they thought they were hidden, he knew they were there.
Robin watched from the building across the street as GCPD arrested one of the newest (and stupidest) mob bosses to grace his fair city. Those idiots never understood that they wouldn't get away with any crime in Gotham, especially when it came to kidnapping little girls from school yards. That was just low. Even for Gotham.
He allowed himself a small, millisecond of a glance over and prepared his grappling gun, though never fully taking his eyes off the other, awaiting his first move. Robin aimed the gun toward the west and the entrance to the back alley. He needed to get himself out of range before-
“I get the feeling you are not the Batman?”
With a deep, irritated sigh, he lowered his grappling gun and turned slowly to face none other than Bane. Even from a distance, it would've taken a complete idiot to not recognize this bulk of a man. Not surprising since this dump was what most crime lords considered their territory. And wasn't Bane a mercenary, as such?
"Sorry to disappoint. But can I help you?"
