Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

The ‘Winters Inc’ building was one of the more magnificent buildings in the city. From below it looked like nothing special. The first four floors were the norm but after the fourth floor the building that rose was made of glass showing the world meeting rooms, receptions and labs. The top few floors were not glass and it was those that contained the more secure labs and meeting rooms that Arthur Winters had planned for. Currently in one of those rooms was his youngest child.
”Thank you for your time, gentlemen. I look forward to seeing you all next week and hearing about your progress.” Skylar shot the 12 men that sat around the long table a smile, as they rose and left the room. Only after the last person had left had Sky sank herself into her father’s old chair at the head of the table. She had memories of him sitting there chairing meetings much the way she did now and a ghost of a smile crept onto her face.
The room was rather warm and so Skylar got up and decided that perhaps it was an idea to get some fresh air before going home. Sky moved herself out of the office and to the lift taking herself down to the ground floor. The security guard there gave her a nod and Sky said, ”See you tomorrow, Norman.” She pushed open the door and stood at the top of the steps and fished her phone from her bag. If Tim was free she’d see if he wanted to meet up for the evening.

The morning started off slow, but surely and slowly entered into the 2000th hour as a casually dressed Tim Drake made his way to the street that it had been proposed they meet at. He assumed that her workplace was nearby, considering the time of day, and although he hadn't exactly stopped to check, considering that ultimately it wouldn't make much of a difference to anything.
When Skylar had asked him if he wanted to "meet up for the evening," he was, admittedly, somewhat hesitant to accept the offer, as though she was far from being insufferable, in fact as far as he was concerned they appeared to get along rather well, it hadn't passed his notice that she would on occasion act in a manner that as far as he was concerned was simply a little too friendly to appear to be anything that a friend would do. Though admittedly a part of him was pleased for something to do other than spending time by himself, at home.
However, despite to the former point, and simply for the fact that she was at the end of the day a nice enough person, he’d agreed. In fact, he would even consider her a friend; perhaps not one of the closest, but a friend all the same. And he would be glad for the company. Now that he thought about it, he couldn’t possibly imagine what it was that had possessed him to reconsider his initial acceptance of her offer. She was a good person, after all, and hadn't exactly done anything to cause him to think otherwise. If anything, it made clear his uncertainties about his own character, rather than her's, in the sense that people generally felt easily drawn to disliking people due to the fact that they reflect something about oneself that they dislike, and a part of him couldn't quite knock the feeling that perhaps he had misinterpreted her seemingly overly-friendly tendencies due to the fact that he sub-consciously resented his apparent inability to do the same with a person he might have particular feelings for. That was true enough, after all, and he ought not to direct his own, even the most minor, insecurities at Skylar. Perhaps, therefore, the reason he seemed to cause rather "awkward" moments between them every now and again was more his fault than her's.
With the thought that he would at least make an effort to be more, shall we say, open to her, he returned his phone to his pocket and continued on his way down the street that a sign had informed him was the one that she had specified.
He dawdled for as long as possible before finally leaving for the designated place, although why he had no idea. He couldn't explain his reasoning to anybody who might have happened to ask, as he himself had no idea, although he had not anticipated being several minutes later than he said he would be.
His pace increasing in speed as he turned the corner, Tim composed in the back of his mind the apology that he would undoubtedly owe her upon arrival, as he headed for a building that met the description she had given him earlier. He had no excuse for his lateness, really, considering that he didn't have to venture particular far from his previous destination, a matter of which Skylar may or may not be overly aware of. Or perhaps he was simply over-thinking the entire situation.
"Sorry I'm so late, Skylar," was all that he could manage upon actually approaching her on the subject, however, when it had actually come to use said apologies, having no true excuse as to why he had kept her waiting, and not at all willing to lie to her on the subject.
((OOC: And I'm sorry that this is so damn long XD I kinda...yeah. Rambled. A lot. Won't happen next time 'round.))

She pressed a button on her phone and watched the screen light up. The time stared out at her. Sky wondered if Tim would actually show. They had spoken a few times and Skylar had actually grown to like him but she knew that he was reserved. Tim seemed to spend time alone and with people he always seemed to hold back. The girl had noticed how he also seemed to come across as shy and it warmed her. Skylar lived her life with guys who were full of bravado; full of crap. There was something more intriguing about Timothy Drake.
Skylar opened up her bag again and dropped her phone back in. She’d wait a little longer and if he turned up great but if not she would head home. Plans had already been made for late in the evening. She was paying a visit to the director of another company who had had a meeting with her last week. Empathy was a curse as well as a gift sometimes. When you knew how someone felt it was hard to shake it off. Sky began to chew at her bottom lip.
Only when she heard the apology did she snap out of her thoughts. Her eyes landed on him and she shook her head. ”No worries. I’m sorry if I disturbed you, if you were busy.” Time was a precious thing and perhaps he had better things to do. How did Skylar know she was fond of Tim in way she may not be of other guys? How did she know for definite? Because Sky had never let her ability for empathy overtake her around him.
Moving down the steps to join him, Skylar offered a small smile. ”I was thinking maybe we could go for a coffee or something.” She voiced what she had thought they could do for the evening. ”How are you?” It was a fair question since she hadn’t really seen him for a while. Sometimes she felt it was stupid just how nervous she could get around one person when she headed a whole company.
((OOC: No problem! Carry on rambling, I don’t mind at all XD))

He swallowed lightly, momentarily unsure of how exactly to respond when she had waved one of his largest concerns about meeting up with her as though it didn't really matter to her. Gaze lowering from her face to nothing in particular, Tim frowned ever so slightly as he spoke, however still having little idea as to what was the best way to respond, as he still felt the need to explain himself, to assure her that he was not unwilling to see her. "I didn't mean to keep you waiting," he finally said after a moment's silence, nodding once in recognition of her previous comment. "I mean, it's not like I don't want to meet up," he added, quick as a flash, after her comment only caused the particular concern to plant itself more firmly in his mind. "I-I wasn't busy, though, I just-- I don't know... Sorry."
Letting out a sigh in half-hearted frustration that he was once again unable to have a conversation with a person such as her without appearing to be the most awkward person alive, Tim found himself looking up and nodding absently at the mention of coffee, seeing the response as the perfect excuse to ignore his various blunders that had already occurred within the first few minutes of seeing her. "I'd like that. You know of any...? In the area?"
A stupid question, really. Of course she knew. Hence the reason that she had asked in the first place, and also she worked in the area. He could only hope that she wouldn't interpret his reply as an insult. At least it was a good conversation starter, anyway, if that was even necessary.
She was so damn confident all the time, he reasoned that she'd quite happily carry on with asking questions in order to get any form of response from him that could start up a lasting conversation. Attempting to mirror her apparent natural confidence, he looked her directly in the eye after a moment's hesitation, determined to respond in more than a few pathetic words, "I'm fine, if a little tired, thanks. And how're you?"

Sky could only smile softly as Tim seemed slightly flustered. ”It’s fine. I wasn’t waiting for long.” Skylar reassured him. She wasn’t about to mention how for a brief moment she thought he may have changed his mind and decided not to meet up with her. Sky listened as he stumbled over his words and gave a kind laugh before saying, ”Honestly Tim, you don’t need to apologize. At least you’re here.” She was glad. Spending some time with someone her own age and that was good company was a nice way to finish the day and remind her that she was actually nineteen.
When Tim asked if she knew of any in the area Sky thought for a few seconds. ”I mean there’s always Starbucks but it’s packed with people. I know there a another small shop a few streets away. It does pretty awesome cake as well.” Skylar told him. She didn’t mind if he would prefer to go to Starbucks. Sky just wasn’t in the mood to be honing in on the emotions of a busy coffee place today.
”I’ve not been too bad.” Sky told him. ”Been quite tired myself.” There was a small shrug of her shoulders. She glanced back up at the building to see the security guard looking at them and turned away and back to Tim, ”We should get moving. I think certain people are beginning to get a little nosy about what’s going on here.” Once again she glanced back up and pulled a face before giving Norman a smile. Oh, it was good to be out of the office. ”How’s school going?”

Letting out something of a half-hearted sigh, he found himself all but forcing back yet another apology, though this time for causing her to feel that, perhaps, he had apologized too much. Honestly, it was almost as though a part of him preferred to come across as he was currently, and how she managed to simply wave it all of as though not only having her wait for an uncertain amount of time, but then fumbling over apologies as though he was unable to string a simple sentence together, was absolutely nothing to worry about. And perhaps it wasn't, although that wouldn't cause that mild sense of guilt for various reasons to subside any more than her reassurance that in reality, she hadn't had to wait particularly long, that he suspected was only being said in order to make him feel better. Or perhaps it was her own, subtle method of attempting to spur on, or so to speak, any ounce of confidence that may or may not be present currently, and in response Tim found himself more. than willing to oblige.
Perhaps a mug of caffeine would provide that kick to his system that he so needed at the moment anyway, he found himself thinking as the issue of which coffee shop they visit was raised. Immediately shying away from the thought of an overcrowded, overly popular location, he glanced sideways in a forcedly absent manner, sure enough catching sight of a man, standing purposefully before the doors of Winters Inc, which admittedly he found rather off-putting, considering that he appeared to be looking straight at them.
Still, he looked away almost as soon as he had glanced over. "If its alright, I wouldn't mind avoiding Starbucks. I mean, its probably busy enough, at this time of day. That is, if you don't mind?" He had long since given up on attempting to break his habit of making every little decision that he made unnecessarily complicated, and so leaving it open to her opinion, and ultimately her decision to make, seemed completely natural. It was only simple courtesy, after all.
Following her gaze back to the building, he nodded, motioning that they start moving. "I noticed," he allowed a small smile to spread across his features as he hesitated in her response concerning school, taking a moment to consider how he ought to respond. It was far from being his favourite conversation topic, and for good reason. "Same old, I guess. I'm just about maintaining my sanity with the thought that its only one more year." He laughed then, if only trailing ogf into a few moments of silent walking alongside her, mentally kicking himself for being unable to anything more to say.
"....Anything new since we last met up?"
((Oh god, I'm sorry for that delay, there. I'm gonna respond regularly now, I swear xD))
