The smoke drifted up from her lips and curled in the air, dancing against the dark of the night, before fading into obscurity. Her blue eyes were flickering with flashes of amber and red as she watched the cars burn. Terrified families were cowering in their homes, peering out from behind the net curtains at the figure standing over the unconscious bodies of the fire-fighters. She was smirking slightly as she listened for the police cars she knew were racing in her direction, intent on catching her and bringing her to justice. She briefly wondered if any god awful super heroes would come and attempt to take her down, was this big enough for them to bother with? She knew she didn't stand a chance against most of them, she might be incredibly strong and fast and agile but some of them could do crazy shit with their bodies. Still, she could have some fun, they were so delightfully annoying with their bullshit morals and inflated egos. Her knife was loosely held in her left hand, the cigarette in the other, a silent warning to anyone who tried to stop her, she wasn't afraid to kill them.
Her enhanced senses heard the crackle of the radio from the now empty fire engine, a voice calling out to the people who were passed out at her feet.
'Are you there? Can you here me? What's happening?....A police car is on the way, we've receive reports of a young female threatening residents and laying explosives near the area....' That was all she needed to hear and so she jumped to the machine and sunk her knife deep into the radio, twisting it until the white noise stopped and there was silence.
She climbed back out of the veichle and smiled at a small child who was watching the scene, terror in his eyes. The poor boy looked lost and confused and was cowering in fear from the flames. He was alone on the street and she doubted he had emerged from one of the houses, must be lost. She walked over and crouched down to his eye level, he was frozen with fear, poor darling. She took his hand and lead him to the nearest house, through the gate and to the carefully painted blue door.
'Knock on the door and go inside' She told him and walked away, leaving a scared woman to open the door and hurry him in. She didn't kill children, that was a rule. It just didn't sit with her very well, she wasn't sure why. Without looking back she stabbed her knife into the fuel tank of the fire engine, lit a match and walked away, leaving it to burn.
