-Having her possessions taken from her.

Personality: In public face, Selina Kyle is a kind woman who cares for animals. She works in an auction house and owns a small antiques shop. She often attends gatherings for animal rights as well as paid dinners to support the local shelters. She spends weekends volunteering at the zoo. She is slightly more meek when she's just Selina Kyle. She enjoys playing the femme fatale and having men think that they need to protect her, give her things, take her out for expensive dinners.
She's outgoing and engaging and enjoys talking with people. She does however try to hide her true emotions about things, feeling that if people see her true emotions, they win. That's something they can use against her. She often finds herself home, alone and she'll just break down in a fit of anger and sadness. There are very, very few people who have ever seen her truly express her emotions, and if you're of those few, consider yourself lucky.
As Catwoman though, is brave and fearless to a fault. She also is pretty vengeful and doesn't take to being mistreated well. Saying she enjoys the finer things in life, might be an understatement. She loves the finer things. She steals the nicest things and sells them to continue the lifestyle she's become accustomed to. Catwoman is a hopeless flirt and has absolutely no problem flaunting what she's got to get herself out of a dangerous situation.
Deep down though, in both her natural form and her alter ego, Selina has a deep deeded need to be loved. She'll say she doesn't, that she isn't interested and to a point, she isn't. She's got no problem with one night stands or brief romances, but at her core she wants to settle down. To retire from the life of crime and have a family. After mulling that over some though, she realizes that she's not ready to settle down yet. That's not going to stop her from looking for Mr. Right though.

History: The Kyle home was not a happy one. It might take Selina a few minutes, maybe days... maybe a year or two to think of one. Her father was a hopeless alcoholic who was regularly abusive to her mother, herself and her sister Maggie. Combine that with a mother who liked her pet cats more than she liked her daughters and you had one messed up household. Selina began taking extra gym classes after school to be able to avoid the beatings, or at least handle them better. She quickly began stepping in to take the beatings for her sister. All of this culminated into one fateful evening when she came home from school and started searching over the house for her mother.
Finally, she looked in the bathroom. Then to her horror she found her mother resting in a bathtub full of a mixture of blood and water. Her hand hanging over the side, blood dripping onto the tile floor, a razor blade on the ground by her hand. She covered her mouth and stumbled back. Her hands caught her sister and pulled her in close, walking away from the scene to regretfully go find her father. After her mother was laid to rest, things only got worse. Her father hated Selina more than ever, saying she looked too much like her mother. One day though, her father's liver just couldn't take anymore and he killed himself by alcohol poisoning. She remained in the house long enough to call emergency services, but by the time they got there she had packed her bags and ran off.
Her sister went to an orphanage and Selina stuck to the streets, stealing and pick pocketing as she tried to make a life for herself. At 13 or so, she was caught and taken to the orphanage her sister was at. While she was there she uncovered that they were embezzling money instead of caring for the children as they should. When she threatened to go to the police with it they took her, put her in a burlap sack and tossed her into the river. She managed to get out though, how exactly no one knows. She went back to the orphanage and stole some of the money and turned the video into the cops.
The money only lasted a little while, and now at 16 Selina turned over to prostitution for a bit. While doing that gig she found someone who was an amazingly trained ninja. She followed him to his home where she was attacked. Impressed by her reflexes they took her in and trained her to be a fighter. There she earned the nick-name 'Nehko-Chan'. One night, after some training she was walking through the park, now 18, where she saw a young Dark Knight fighting some Gotham City scum. She couldn't help but watch the fight happen. The man in the suit amazed her. He inspired her to don a costume and take on the world.
A few months later she had 'graduated' from the academy and spent all her money on a suit. A catsuit. Her first heist didn't go off without a hitch. She was almost caught by the security guards and when asked who did it, they simply said, "She was like some sort of Catwoman!" She took that name and ran with it, and never looked back.
Now at, at 30 (for at least two years, maybe more), she had made a nice little sum for herself. Between going to school for antiquities, owning her own antiques store and working for an auction house she stayed on the radar of the upper crust. The nicest sum came from the heists though. That's what paid her rent and kept her in her nice pent house apartment overlooking Gotham. She's been trying to go straight for the past few months, becoming more of a vigilante herself than a villain. Now, she was dealing with a real issue... How much money was really involved in being a vigilante?

"My fingers claw your skin, try to tear my way in..." Florence and the Machine played from the radio of the security guard who was nestled safely in his office with all the tvs watching various angles and a box of fresh doughnuts from the shop down the street. He was just settling down from his last walk around for the night, time to watch some infomercials and fall asleep. That was when the door behind him was pushed open. He turned, laboriously breathing as he went to stand. "Hey there, now what's a pretty little kitty cat like yourself doing in here?"
"Really want to know?" The woman dressed in the black catsuit purred with a playful smile. She approached the man, her catsuit zipped down to show the gentle curves of her breasts. A pair of goggles in the shape of cats eyes rested over her face. The lenses were a bright orange and didn't allow her eyes to be seen in this sort of light. "I'm here to rob you blind." She had leaned forward, practically hissing those words into his ear. She snapped at the air by his ear. He went for his gun and she grabbed his hand. "Uh, uh, uh! That's not very nice." Her hands moved over to a bag of zipties and caught his arms on the arms of his chair.
Her feet were silent as they moved across the tile floor away from the security guard who now sat with his arms zip-tied to the arms of his rolling computer chair and a doughnut shoved in his mouth. All the cameras on the fritz. "Thanks for making it so damn easy.". The woman in the black skin tight suit murmured before going out the door. She moved through the building full of expensive antiquities and went for one thing in particular. An object she knew would fetch an incredible price on the black market of a town like Gotham. Tucking the little bejeweled hair clip and the matching necklace and ring in her bag. She moved out of the building.
Climbing back out onto the roof she took a deep breath of the vile city air and sighed. Up in the sky like a beacon of hope was the Bat signal. Was it for her this night? Probably not. Being a crook and a burglar was really hardly anything compared to what roamed this city after dark. Really what roamed this city at all times of day and night. That was when it caught her ear, a woman running, yelling for help. She peered down over the edge of the building to see the blonde running, some cronies chasing her. -care to kick a little ass this evening, Selina?-"Don't mind if I do."
Her gloved hand rested on her hip, removing her whip from it's holder. Striking it down it wrapped around a post from the building below. She dove forward with her feet extended out, kicking the man in the back and knocking him to the ground. A few well balanced strikes later and the woman was running, not being chased anymore. A smile coming to her lips. The Bat-family's reach was far, that was true, but they couldn't be everywhere that needed them. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to help out some. There were real monsters on the streets of Gotham. True, she wasn't a great person, but she wasn't killing people.
Catwoman walked toward her apartment, going back into the alleyway she changed out of her costume. Stepping out as Selina Kyle, the pretty, petite brunette who lived on the top floor penthouse of a very expensive apartment building. Going inside she leaned back in the elevator and went up, unlocking her front door. The penthouse was nearly all windows and there were several cats sauntering around. Once she got inside she fed the cats, put the jewels somewhere safe. She began to undress, pulling the blinds away from the window. Going out onto her balcony she pulled the silk robe around her, but left it open in the front showing her simple black lace undergarments.
Her deep green eyes watched the night sky over Gotham. Listening to the violence and watching the bright lights. It was a disgusting city, she really should have left it, but her eyes looked up, seeing what kept her here. A man, silhouetted in darkness. The formidable dark soul of the city. He struck fear at her core but managed to give her hope for a better Gotham City. Maybe one day, she'd stop being a bad guy. Maybe one day she'd get to see him in person, fight along side him and be a hero... Then there was reality.
Could he ever trust a villain?
