Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

What do you want with me?" The boy had breathed, the only light being a faint blue glow from his computer screen. "Don't you know, Fangorn?" |
[/b] Pride smirked. "I have no idea what you are talking about." The boy said, shaking. To Pride it was obvious that he was lying. The emotions were so clear and the demon gave a low chuckle, her four eyes on the boy. "A Lord of the Rings fan, when you found out you have the power to manipulate trees you took up a super hero guise and called yourself after the forest which houses ents. Do not think you can lie to me, I can tell."[/b] The boy's demeanor changed slightly; he seemed less scared. "That's better."[/b] Pride said, her voice almost sounding like a purr as she walked forward. "I'm not afraid of you." His voice still shook and Pride chuckled. "I can feel your emotions. You're not as scared as you should be."[/b] In a flash, Pride had grabbed the boy by the throat and held him up in the air, his limbs flailing. "Good, you aren't' screaming. I would hate to have to kill the innocents downstairs."[/b] Pride said. Unfortunately the boy's death was needed, just like many others, to give her father power. Suddenly the building shook as a tree broke through the wall, hitting Pride. "I'm not helpless, like you think." The boy grinned and Pride could feel the confidence in him rise. "Too bad."[/b] Pride commented, avoiding the attacking tree and concentrating on making the boy's father feel curiosity, not fear and to go and investigate what was going on in his son's room. Fangorn was unaware. The door started to open, and Fangorn, filled with rage, attacked. Pride stepped aside and the moving branch struck Fangorn's father and he collapsed. "Father!" Fangorn said, running to his father's side, attack forgotten. "Oh dear."[/b] Pride said, pretending to look sad and shaking her head with sorrow. "I didn't mean for this to happen. If only you hadn't decided to attack so wildly. I never wanted an innocent to die."[/b] Pride moved forward and placed a comforting hand on Fangorn's back. It was simple enough to move Fangorn into her soul self and Pride knew that the fun was beginning. Oh, the delight of it! Her father needed deaths of all that might appose him and it gained him power. But the more horrific the death, the more the victim submitted to the death, the more power that Trigon could harness. "What do you want?" Fangorn asked, shivering, tears in his eyes. "I want to rule the world that is rightfully mine, to spare it from the,"[/b] Pride dodged a punch that was aimed her way. "war, greed, hunger."[/b] The demon easily dodged the rest of the attacks, this was her soul after all. No one could beat her here. "But to do that, I need my father and he needs your death. So, I'm afraid that you're going to have to suffer some more."[/b] With that, Pride teleported a distance away and let the boy's nightmares spring to life around him. Fire surrounded the child, creeping closer. Then the flames began to lick at his leg and the boy screamed. The sound sent shivers down Pride's spine; it was so perfect, so beautiful, yet a chill also slipped into her heart. But this was the only way to save many and there was a fun aspect to it. For an hour, Pride watched as the flames tore away, other fears coming to life within the flames. Then everything went away and Pride walked forward to the shaking body that was curled up around itself. "It's gone, Fangorn, open your eyes."[/b] Pride said, her voice soft and calming. "No, it's still there. Eating me. You're a devil." The boy shuddered. Fangorn? Fangorn?"[/b] Pride waited to see if he would respond, but the child continued to mutter to himself. "Mark,"[/b] The boy froze as he heard his name. "What do you want?"[/b] "Please just make it stop, make it go away." Mark shivered. "Do you want to die, Mark?"[/b] Pride asked softly, like a mother coaxing a child. "No, I need to... go on. Protect my... ugh.. village." So there was still fire in the child. Pride sighed and sat back. Finally she had worked her way towards a challenge. Returning themselves to Mark's room, Pride glanced at the body, sirens wailed in the distance. Mark opened his eyes and walked towards the body, his fingers reaching to check his father's pulse. "He's still alive." He muttered, Pride cocked her head. The boy was imagining things, the demon could tell that the father had passed on. Pride would not let Mark get away without the knowledge of what he had done. Teleporting towards the sirens, Pride used her magic to overload the cars. No one was harmed and she was not seen in the darkness of the night. Then, she teleported back, picking up the mother and two sisters that Mark had and putting them down in the room where Mark and the body lay. "What's going on? Mark? Oh my!" The mother ran to the body. "No, Carl!" She sobbed. "Dad's fine, he's still got a pulse." The shock of the family had meant that they were not aware of how they had arrived here. The shock preventing them from thinking right. "Mum, what's going on?" Asked the youngest sister, the older sister breathing heavily besides her, aware of the situation. "Dad's dead?" Mark's voice shook. "I killed father! I... I... please end." Pride smirked and with her magic, the corpse lit, flames dancing across the body. Did Mark need her help to make the right move? "No, Mark!" The mother shouted as Mark gave his body to the fire. Soon my father will have his power once again. Pride thought as she teleported away. Now she was back on the rock that the demon currently called home. All four eyes were closed as she sat there, feeling the warmth increase as the sun crept over the horizon. Soon it would shine upon the burnt bodies. It was such a shame that such pain was needed to allow her father to come through and for the world to be kept safe. Pride felt some sorrow for the deaths, the demon was not evil, she only wanted what was right, what needed to happen. For weeks now, Pride had been killing, torturing, sacrificing minor heroes for the good of the universe, for her father. The way she was working would mean she would be well prepared when it came to fighting at her father's side. Of course, on top of killing there was some important diplomatic things to sort out. Pride smiled, bearing her sharp teeth as she considered the future. Her friends would join her, they would be like family. The Titans were on that list, in the past they had been against joining forces with her, but Pride was going to do her best to keep her friends alive. Otherwise her father would have to kill them and Pride would rather have them alive. Then were was also the two Green Lanterns she had met recently; Sinestro and Soranik. From what Pride knew, Sinestro wasn't against death, apparently his former corps had been quite... sinister. Soranik would be rather different, if Pride had judged her character correctly. Still, if they went against her, they would die. The two would be no match for her father. But what if her actions were traced by the Titans or Lanterns? Pride's smile disappeared as she considered this option. If talking failed, then what? Killing them would not be something that she would want. But she could lock them within herself until they agreed with her. People's opinions were easy to change. If they still didn't agree, then maybe she would be forced to kill her friends, but it would be their fault, not hers. That made it better. Still, there was Doctor Fate... he could be a problem. Pride frowned, this was a person that she had gone to for help as Raven, before she knew the greater good. The demon knew that this was one person who wouldn't join her, but did it matter? Pride barely knew Doctor Fate and unlike the Titans or two Lanterns, she didn't care for him. Yes he had been nice to her when she was disillusioned but that was it. Pride turned her face towards the sun, opening her four eyes to look at the light for a second, before closing them. Soon she would need to move her plan forward. The deaths would need to increase. But there was a feeling, someone had appeared, she could sense the emotions and Pride recognised her guest. "Welcome to my humble abode, Sinestro. It is a pleasure to see you again,"[/b] Pride said, opening her four eyes lazily to regard him. "When I am more of myself."[/b] [/style] tags: Sinestro, Titans, Doctor Fate, Possible Other word count: 1580 muse: None notes: Have fun! Sinestro was a little annoyed with his current situation. He wasn’t really sure why, though. He was fighting crime again and creating order, he was part of a new group dedicated to good things, and he was making up for some of his past mistakes. But something was still bothering him. Was it because of Fate? The things he had seen when the man had shared his strange power with him? He couldn’t get the images out of his mind. Though there had been so many, and they had all come at once, it was like he could remember each one as though it had happened slowly and precisely before his eyes, nothing clouding it or making it difficult to see. While he wasn’t sure if he could really believe it was magic, it had certainly been one hell of a head trip.
And he had seen things he wasn’t so sure he was pleased to see.
Sighing, he moved towards a strange energy signature he had found not that long ago. It was familiar, somehow, but not entirely the same as the power he had once known. And he suspected he knew the source, which was more or less the only reason he had decided to check it out at all. In all honesty, he probably should have told the Justice League about it- gotten back up where it was needed. He doubted he would be fine to handle things on his own, but there was little motivating him to embarrass himself. He hadn’t been one to call for help in the past, and he wasn’t even sure what was going to happen at present. After all, he hadn’t been able to see his own future, and Fate had been nothing but cryptic about things concerning his next few weeks.
Slowly, he approached a rock the being he had been tracking was sitting on, coming to land right beside it. Frowning, he looked at the woman, arching An eyebrow as he processed what he was looking at.
“I see. So this is what happens to Raven when she loses control of her abilities,” Sinestro remarked with no real concern on sorrow in his voice, his expression equally neutral. He observed her as one might a piece of art, and not one found to be particularly nice. Scrunching his nose, he pointed his ring at her, lowering his other hand limply to his side.
“As adorable as you are, with your four eyes and… whatever… how does one go about regaining Raven? And don’t think I won’t hurt you to find out. I’ll ensure you’re in so much pain, you’ll be begging to let her be in control again.” He didn’t sound anything other than serious, because he wasn’t. He really would torture her if he needed to. Hell, he would probably kill her if he felt he needed to. Protecting the planet was more important than personal feelings.
If he had allowed his wife to die and still continued with his misguided plans, then he could deal with the death of a young girl he had been just getting to know a little bit better, even if she had helped him get a pet one time.
He watched Raven, or whatever she called herself now, with indifference, his hand steady as his ring glowed towards her.

It was nice to see a friend, but there was anticipation; which side would he pick? Would Pride be able to keep her friend or would she have to destroy him? “I see. So this is what happens to Raven when she loses control of her abilities,” Pride arched her eyebrows at this. Such a dark way to look at things. "You see this so negatively. I am Raven when she is allowed to feel emotions. Is it not fair that I should be allowed to feel like every other creature on this planet can?" |
[/b] The demon asked, noting that at the moment Sinestro wasn't feeling much. Such a shame to deny the many emotions that one could feel. Red eyes regarded the raised ring. Pride wondered whether she should be feeling threatened - she had seen what the ring could do - but being threatened by a ring didn't inspire any fear or worry. In fact, Pride found it somewhat humorous that a powerful weapon had to be shaped like a ring and she smirked. Much better to have the power inside you and to be able to unleash it without the use of an object. Briefly, Pride wondered what would happen if all those Lanterns suddenly lost their hands. Would that be a good way to deal with them? It didn't matter, her father would deal with them when he came through. Of course, the raised ring probably meant that Sinestro wouldn't be too keen to join her. That was a pity. Or maybe he was just being cautious - maybe he thought that she was evil. “As adorable as you are, with your four eyes and… whatever… how does one go about regaining Raven? And don’t think I won’t hurt you to find out. I’ll ensure you’re in so much pain, you’ll be begging to let her be in control again.” Oh, so he wanted Pride to have her emotions under control, to let this world remain leaderless and chaotic. Then there was the fact he thought she was adorable. Pride didn't like that. It would make torturing to convince him to join her side (if it came down to it) easier. And he thought that he would be the one inflicting the pain. Pride laughed softly. Amusement was such a nice emotion to be able to feel. "I'd rather you didn't call me adorable, for one."[/b] Pride started, eyes remaining on Sinestro's face and ignoring the ring. "For two, I prefer being myself, Pride. When I'm delusional, under the pretense of Raven, I cannot feel. So why would I want to go back to that when my eyes are finally opened to the truth? And finally, the idea of you torturing me is more amusing than threatening."[/b] Pointed out Pride, still smiling, showing off her pointed teeth. The ring was glowing, the demon cocked her head, considering this. Either Sinestro was preparing for an attack of defense. Judging by his lovely words of bringing her pain, Pride decided it was the former. This was going to be a fun day. "Now let me give you my proposal. You have been kind to me and I have grown to view you as a friend. You have two options. Join me and enjoy the perks that it will bring when Trigon comes and this universe falls to him. Or refuse. in which case I'll have to change your thoughts about that and if you still won't join me then I'll just have to kill you. Painfully. The choice is yours."[/b] Pride had spoken and now she prepared. If Sinestro thought that he stood a chance, she would prove him wrong. Her pride would not allow her to be defeated. All she needed was her soul-self and she could show him his soul - make him live through painful memories as they journeyed to see it. Then there were the nightmares she could bring to life within her own soul-self. It would be better for him to just join her now. Sinestro watched the other, arching an eyebrow. “Raven isn’t incapable of feeling,” he said easily enough, almost bored with the conversation already, “and when she discovers that, I imagine you’ll be gone for good. It’s her closing off emotions, rather than controlling them correctly, that keeps you around. Once she really learns how to deal with her powers, I wonder what will happen to you? I guess I’d be scared to let go, too, if I knew this might be my last time to come out and play.” He watched the other, smiling faintly to himself as he tilted his head and kept his sharp yellow eyes glued on her.
She certainly didn’t look anything like the Raven he had once known, that was for sure. Still, he knew the young, innocent girl was locked in there somewhere, and he was going to make sure he brought it back out again.
Somehow.
“I have never been kind to you, demon,” he corrected stiffly, “only Raven. I don’t care if you’re connected to her in some way- you are not her. So don’t confuse her friendship with me for something you can steal. Something you can use against me. I do not consider you and her the same being, so I will have no problem killing you, even if it means not seeing her again.” He watched her, his expression and emotions both neutral. He knew she could sense emotions, and he knew he was an expert at hiding them.
“You will convince me of nothing, because I have no intention of joining you. Now, I’m going to go ahead and knock you the hell out now. Perhaps someone else will know how to restore you to your former self.” With that, he pointed his ring at the other, using it to generate a massive storm of electricity in front of him. Several bolts shot at her, each one powerful enough to give any of his fellow lanterns one hell of a hard time. He was holding back, yes, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t still a massive power house who was perfectly capable of hurting someone.
He knew he couldn’t kill her, even if he said it and acted like he felt like he could. He had already decided he would do what he could to try and change her. There would be quite a few people pissed with him if he didn’t at least attempt to save her. Hell, he would have been pissed with himself.
However, he wasn’t thinking about any of that in front of this one- he kept his mind clear and his expressions as elusive as his motives. A straight-faced warrior.
It was the only thing he could think to do to try and save Raven.

[atrb=border,0,true][style=width:426; height:865; background:black url(URL HERE); padding:10px; text-align:justify; font-family:arial; font-size:12px; font-style:Calibri; line-height:11px; letter-spacing:1px; color:white; overflow:auto][style=float:left; margin-right:10px] This all seemed like a game to Pride although she knew it was serious. She was here to rule earth when her father had taken over the universe. Friends would be allowed to stay if they did not interfere and if they did, then she would deal with them. “Raven isn’t incapable of feeling,” He said that but he had no idea how hard Raven had tried to keep Pride under control. The demon hated how she had believed that her true self was dangerous. They were one and the same, only Pride had her eyes open and let herself feel. “and when she discovers that, I imagine you’ll be gone for good. It’s her closing off emotions, rather than controlling them correctly, that keeps you around. Once she really learns how to deal with her powers, I wonder what will happen to you? I guess I’d be scared to let go, too, if I knew this might be my last time to come out and play.”
Pride cocked her head, considering Sinestro's words. He didn't understand, he was treating them as two people, just like how she had viewed things under the guise of Raven. Why was it that everyone including herself could not see that Pride was the same person as Raven? Pride was the true being that they knew. "You do not see it as I do. 'She' is me and I am the truth. I have lived under a fascade, kept blind. But I can never be gone from myself." |
[/b] Pride replied, ignoring the bit about being able to feel when Raven. The demon knew well enough that when she played her human side she kept the emotions at bay because those daft monks thought that Pride was dangerous. “I have never been kind to you, demon,” How wrong he was there, Pride thought. She remembered how Sinestro had cooked her a meal when she came visiting, she remembered fighting the alien woman and Sinestro's aid then. , “only Raven. I don’t care if you’re connected to her in some way- you are not her. So don’t confuse her friendship with me for something you can steal. Something you can use against me. I do not consider you and her the same being, so I will have no problem killing you, even if it means not seeing her again.” Pride looked sad as she listened. Was friendship really so weak that it couldn't stand the test of emotion. The demonic being had really hoped that Sinestro would understand and join her cause. Well, there is a down side to feeling Pride thought although it was easy enough to disregard the sadness. The plus side was that she would get to kill him, or break his spirit. “You will convince me of nothing, because I have no intention of joining you. Now, I’m going to go ahead and knock you the hell out now. Perhaps someone else will know how to restore you to your former self.” "Good luck with that-"[/b] Pride started about to launch into a longer conversation when the attack came her way. How unfair! She let him have a nice long talk to her. Luckily she had been preparing herself to torturing him, so all it took was a quick change of action to pull herself into the soul-self as teleportation. Unfortunately for her, the attack was fast and she caught some of the blow. Hissing, Pride teleported behind Sinestro. She intended to grab him and pull him into her soul-self so she could bring them on a little road journey to his soul. "Up for a spirital road trip?"[/b] Pride asked, slight pain in her voice and a lot of malice. [/style] tags: Sinestro, Titans, Doctor Fate, Others word count: N/A muse: None notes: Have fun! Sinestro was a little surprised to have her appear behind him so quickly, but there wasn’t a lot of time for him to react. A part of him was still slowed by the very fact he didn’t want to have to kill her, even if he knew he would should it come right down to it. If it meant saving the planet from a potentially world-ending threat, well, then it didn’t seem like he had a lot of choice in the matter. However, he wasn’t going to leap right to it as he may have done not that long ago. Old Sinestro wouldn’t have had a problem with hurting someone, even killing them. Friends had meant nothing to him.
But things had changed.
He liked his friends. Michael was a brave lad, and even if his views were very small-minded and oh so very human, he was still someone looking to try and do the right thing. There was Kara, who was something of a second daughter to him, much in the same way Raven had started to become. Of course, there was also his real daughter, Soranik, whom he would love regardless of her thoughts on him. There were people like Diana and Thor, whom he was just starting to get to know in a completely knew light. He had so many people in his life all of a sudden, and he was just selfish enough to want them all to stay connected to him. Raven was not excluded.
Even if he hated the concept, he had to hope that it wouldn’t come down to having to kill her- that he would find some way of restoring her to the gloomy person she had been before letting Pride get the better of her.
He couldn’t break away from Pride, and he knew he would be taking a trip into her soul self, but a part of him was fine with that. Maybe it was a foolish, uninformed thought, but he figured he might be able to find some way to reach the old Raven from within. He had to try- it seemed there wouldn’t be much he could do from the outside, even if he wanted to.
Whatever she had planned, he would have to face to try and find some way to help her out.
“Fine,” he told her without a trace of fear in his voice, “bring your worst- I have no reason to believe you would be able to do me any harm. I think you like me too much to hurt me.” Probably not the right thing to say.
But Sinestro had never been one to say the perfect thing at the right moment. He was more of a ‘piss people off and sort it out later’ type when it came to conversation

[atrb=border,0,true][style=width:426; height:700; background:black url(URL HERE); padding:10px; text-align:justify; font-family:arial; font-size:12px; font-style:Calibri; line-height:11px; letter-spacing:1px; color:white; overflow:auto][style=float:left; margin-right:10px] Keeping her grip on Sinestro proved to be easier than Pride had anticipated and the demon practically hummed with excitment. She was looking forward to this. It was not often that Raven or Pride showed being their souls but she figured that it might be of some use to convincing Sinestro that her cause was right. After the painful memories he would see his soul and she would try to convince him that joining her would reflect nicely on it. After all, there would be a lot of lives saved when she ruled. And souls were very beautiful things to look at. Everyone else got a nice glowy white ones, unlike hers. It was nice to look at.
“Fine,” All four of Pride's eyes blinked in suprise - she had not expected Sinestro to come so willingly after trying to blast her with electricity. It had hurt! Plus, Pride felt annoyed that Sinestro had beat her to the attack. “bring your worst- I have no reason to believe you would be able to do me any harm. I think you like me too much to hurt me.” Interesting words. In truth, Pride did care for Sinestro (hence why she was showing him his soul first in order to convince him instead of just torturing him) and she did want him to remain alive. He wouldn't be able to be very friend-like if dead. Althouh her father was a demonic lord of the Underworld. Did dead souls go there at all? Would Sinestro go there or somewhere else?
"You are right, I don't want to see you dead. I'm trying to save you from that fate. You just aren't being very co-operative." |
[/b] Pride replied, as she pulled them both away from the physical world with her soul-self. The bad memories wouldn't be so nice, Pride pondered, but they may also convince him that she was doing the right thing. If they hurt him like torture... Using her soul-self, she directed them on the visit to Sinestro's soul. It wasn't very hard and Pride hummed a tune to herself. It was something she had heard as Raven but could not enjoy. Pride enjoyed the tune. In fact, she almost decided to continue humming the cheerful tune while watching Sinestro's memories as they pressed on to seeing the actual soul itself. To Pride it was like a field-trip. She stopped humming. "We are going to have so much fun."[/b] Pride laughed, letting go of Sinestro as the bad memories should begin to start. Maybe it would be nice to warn him but were was the sport in that? He had agreed to coming. So he would be absolutely fine with this. I wonder what memories will come up. Pride thought as she waited for it to begin. It was just like the movies! If only she had popcorn. Sinestro hadn’t been expecting the trip to be more about him than Raven. It wasn’t the same as the first time he had entered her soul-self. This time, it seemed like he was immediately faced with memories from his past, starting with his struggled childhood where his mom had killed herself and his drug dealer father had left keeping the family together to his undeserving son. It was difficult to watch his young self, though it seemed seeing himself grow did not provide happier memories to sift through. Whatever he was watching, it was only showing all the hardships he had been through in his life, including the many moments he had suffered in his time as a lantern.
He watched many of his friends die and suffer in his memories- lanterns he had joined with. Friends who had been with him from the start of his career. Like Abin Sur. The man who had introduced him to his sister, and had always been with him when he needed help or someone to vent to. He had been his best friend. His only true friend. And he could only watch as he slowly grew concerned about Abin’s strange belief in some unknown prophecy. Something that ultimately got his friend killed. If only he hadn’t turned his back on the man- perhaps he would not have had to die that day. He saw the moment he first discovered his friend’s death, and how much of his base he had destroyed in the resulting rage. It had been first time a death had really gotten the better of him.
It was the first death that had changed him.
The memories continued and he finally got to what was probably the worst memory he held within him- the day his wife, Arin, died. They had been fighting. She had been telling him to stop his attempt to take over Korugar and enforce his brand of order. He had told her he would give it all up if she wanted him to, but the fight would not end. In the end, he had told her to go underground and get to their spaceship, so she could leave the planet and keep herself safe. They had already given away their daughter for the same reason. He had been pushing away his whole family to follow through with his plans. In the end, though, it hadn’t been enough. An unexpected explosion had collapsed the sewer system he had sent his wife down. The path he had picked to keep her safe and ultimately been the path that sent her to her own demise. He found her in the rubble, and could do nothing but hold onto her as she breathed her last few breaths. She died in his arms, and he had never felt so much pain in his whole life. No moment after that one compared in sorrow, though the memories still continued.
Through every fight and challenge, through every failed plan and miscalculated attempt to get the better of the Green Lanterns, Sinestro watched himself, taking in every evil thing he had done. And not even every- just the ones that seemed to be the worst. Of course, he had known he had made some mistakes in his past, but seeing them all lined up in front of his eyes… it was difficult to comprehend just how much he needed to make up for.
It was over-whelming.
His thoughts to look for a way to free Raven had been interrupted by the trip down memory lane, and by the time they memories were past him the thought had been all but forgotten. He was struggling with everything he had just seen, completely over come by his emotions. Then, he found himself standing in front of something bright. A strange sort of ball of energy, glowing brightly in the blackness.
“wha… what is this?” he whispered.

She supposed she could go straight to the soul and wait there but there was no fun in that. Besides, this was her friend and it would be a great opportunity for him to share things with her. Although he didn't really have a choice but he had decided to let her. So there was really nothing wrong with it at all. The first thing that Pride got to watch was when Sinestro was a child and she cocked her head. It was strange to see him so young. In fact, Pride would not have known him if it wasn't for the fact that these were his memories.
So Sinestro had family problems, Pride noted. With his mother dead and his father not really working as one. Then there were deaths such as other Lanterns. It was useful, Pride supposed. If she had to deal with any Lanterns she had some idea on how to kill them. Then there was something that made the memory Sinestro very angry and destructive. Death of a close friend? Someone was definitely dead, though. Sinestro didn't appear to have a very fun past, or maybe it was the fact that it was just the bad things. Pride bit her lip. If Sinestro did join her cause she would have to ask if he got to do anything fun between all the deaths.
The memories still continued and Pride's eyes widened. How many bad memories did Sinestro have? Oh, his wife dying was probably one that she should have been expecting. Pride watched that, deciding that it should soon be the end of all the memories. The demon was starting to get bored and was hoping to get along with the making sure that Sinestro joined her. But there was still more and things were starting to get better. He seemed to be following her way of thinking more often in these bad memories. OK, so maybe not better if they were bad but it showed that he wasn't completely against her ways. He had just been lead astray. Still, Sinestro was feeling more emotions, that had to count for something.
Finally they arrived at the soul and Pride leapt forward from her unobserved place and looked up at the glowy soul of light. It didn't look too bad. Fairly normal. Pride wondered whether she could corrupt a soul. Words and torture would probably do the trick. “wha… what is this?” Pride moved forward, past Sinestro and looked up at the soul before turning to face the Lantern. "Well, this is the reason we had a trip through your memory lane. Which was quite long by the way, you need to stop having bad memories, someone could use them to their advantage. But this, my friend is something that you should know very well." |
[/b] Pride was grinning, this was good sport in the demon's opinion. Why couldn't it be more common practice? "So Sinestro, I'd like you to meet your soul!"[/b] Pride announced, standing aside and looking up at it. Even she could appreciate the beauty of the soul. So now she got to wait and see if the trip was worth it. Would he immediately submit to her cause or would she need more words. Pride frowned as she considered that this might not be enough. What if he was really sturbon and refused either way. If he knew what was good for him he would submit. But for now they could enjoy the beauty of the soul.[/style] tags: Sinestro, Titans, Doctor Fate, Possible Other word count: N/A muse: Der Letze Tag notes: None Table Layout By BRY, 2012[/style][/td][/tr][/table][/center]

Stop having bad memories? It wasn’t like he controlled his past- things happened, and for him then generally seemed to be bad things. But that didn’t mean he was afraid of people using them against him. Every memory, good and bad, helped shape him in to the Green Lantern he had become. The strongest one out there, as far as he was concerned. Still, it wasn’t like he enjoyed seeing his past come back to life, however much he failed to regret any of the things that had happened to him. Particularly, seeing his wife had been difficult. Such a beautiful, wonderful woman she had been… it was painful whenever he saw her, knowing that she was no longer among the living. They would be separated from some time more, though. He had no intention of dying, even if it did mean joining her.
It would not happen for a while… if he had anything to say about it.
He looked at his soul, though he wasn’t sure what he was supposed to take in from the sight. “So is this your evil master plan?” He asked, letting the glow of his ring remind him what he was supposed to be doing there. He just had to remember that he was, in fact, a great lantern, and he wouldn’t be beaten by someone who didn’t even seem invested in her own plans. It still didn’t lead him any closer to figuring out how to turn her back to normal, though. Maybe it had something to do with emotions. She had only shown him bad memories, after all. He had to wonder if that was because she just wanted to piss with him, or if it was something more than that.
Turning his eyes from what she claimed was his soul, Sinestro returned to glaring at Pride, crossing his arms over his chest defiantly. “If I’m supposed to be impressed with this little display, then you’re sadly mistaken. You being privy with my memories doesn’t mean I’m going to rush to join your cause. If anything, it just makes me more annoyed with you. I don’t generally like people butting into my personal life.”
(short, sorry. I really had no idea how I was supposed to reply. X_X)

There wasn't really enough of a reaction in Pride's opinion. He was only seeing his soul! Well, maybe it would change his views anyway. “So is this your evil master plan?” Pride shook her head. "My plans are not evil and this is not my main goal. It's just me trying to make sure that you will survive." |
[/b] Pride replied, her four eyes focusing on Sinestro. Calmly, Pride looked from Sinestro to his soul, occasionally looking at the ring. For a second, Pride was curious, wondering whether it would work inside Sinestro's soul or what difference it would make. It probably would work, powers worked within her own soul. Paying attention to his emotions, Pride noticed that he wasn't impressed and not that happy either. “If I’m supposed to be impressed with this little display, then you’re sadly mistaken. You being privy with my memories doesn’t mean I’m going to rush to join your cause. If anything, it just makes me more annoyed with you. I don’t generally like people butting into my personal life.”Well, it didn't seem like he was any more willing to join. Well, she still had some words to say. "But haven't you thought about what your soul can hold? If you join me we will save so many lives and it will look so much better on your soul when you die!"[/b] Pride smiled, trying to look friendly. Which wasn't that easy to do when you had sharp pointed teeth. Pride looked back at the soul in front of her. It would be a shame if Sinestro had to die. Well, that was why she had her back up plan. "Do you believe in nightmares, Sinestro?"[/b] Pride asked casually. It was her last resort to keep Sinestro alive. As she considered whether she would have to do the same with the others, Pride came upon another interesting thought. Would Sinestro be happy about that? Considering one of those people were his daughter... but at least Pride wasn't planning on killing her! Although the demon didn't mention it just yet. Looking away from the soul, Pride examined her nails. "Fears coming to life and such."[/b][/style] tags: Sinestro, Titans, Doctor Fate, Possible Other word count: N/A muse: Celtic Music - For the King notes: No worries. ^^ Table Layout By BRY, 2012[/style][/td][/tr][/table][/center]

Sinestro looked at his soul, tilting his head slightly to one side. While he still didn't understand what he was supposed to be feeling while he was looking at it, he could agree that it was something better than any normal ball of light. It was... his ball of light. And it seemed somehow nicer than he would have expected it to be. Anyone else would have thought his soul would be some small, black piece of hopelessness, ready to give up altogether. Those that thought he had a soul at all.
Maybe it was a comfort knowing he had one deep down inside, but he wasn't going to be so grateful that he joined her caused and put the whole planet in danger in the process. Someone needed to stop her, and he wasn't the type to sit back and think other people were capable of it.
He found himself distracted from his soul when she spoke again, his sharp yellow eyes shifting away from it and locking on her smaller frame. Even with four eyes and claws, he did not seem to look at her any differently.
Oh no she didn't.
The Green Lantern scoffed at the question, almost as though he were offended to be asked it in the first place. It felt like it was supposed to be some kind of slam against him- she knew he was the master of fear, didn't she? That he had once been the leader of the Sinestro Corps, whose power had been derived from fear? He had been the best user of such an emotion on his whole team, which had probably had something to do with him leading it. To be asked if he believed in it was a little like getting slapped in the face.
"Of course I believe in fear," Sinestro replied, "I was the master of it once, and I still quite accomplished with it. But if you're asking me as some kind of threat, I'll have you know that I do not give into fear- I am a Green Lantern. We are beings who have been pick for our ability to overcome fear, and I am the greatest in that department. I have no fears." He knew that wasn't true, but he knew he had always been able to push past them and act like he didn't have anything to be frightened of. However, he didn't know how things would go in such a strange realm. Her magic might influence him in some way- make it so he would not be able to resist things as he normally might.
Still, he was not going to be scared of what she was going to bring to him.

[atrb=border,0,true][style=width:426; height:625; background:black url(URL HERE); padding:10px; text-align:justify; font-family:arial; font-size:12px; font-style:Calibri; line-height:11px; letter-spacing:1px; color:white; overflow:auto][style=float:left; margin-right:10px] Still examining her pointed nails, Pride looked up at Sinestro as he reacted to her words about nightmares and fear. It had got out a fun response, which the demon supposed was good. Smirking as Sinestro scoffed, Pride cast a glance back at his soul for a second, wondering if it would look any different after Sinestro had taken a trip to her soul-self. It would be a shame if it did change, so far it was looking like a perfectly nice soul considering Sinestro's many bad memories. Grinning, Pride turned her attention back to the alien and watched him, waiting to see how he would respond. It certainly seemed like he had something to stay on the topic.
"Of course I believe in fear," That was good, Pride decided, the demon thinking about what nightmares and fears Sinestro might own. Pride supposed that once there Sinestro might be persuaded to join her cause and if not then she supposed he could be a sacrifice - as much as she despised the idea. "I was the master of it once, and I still quite accomplished with it. But if you're asking me as some kind of threat, I'll have you know that I do not give into fear- I am a Green Lantern. We are beings who have been pick for our ability to overcome fear, and I am the greatest in that department. I have no fears." The demon smirked as she listened to this.
"Really, no fears at all? Are you absolutely certain because I'm sure I can find something for you that you fear." |
[/b] Pride told Sinestro, her tone of voice making it appear that she thought it was a great service to Sinestro. All she needed was a quick journey to bring them both into her soul-self and then it would be 'go say hello to your nightmares and then join me'. "You will join me if you know what's good for you, Sinestro. You, along with a handful of those I view as friends and family will be given this option. I fear that my father will have to destroy the rest of the heroes unless they can offer their allegiance in time. Why waste this opportunity?"[/b] The demon truly believed in her cause and it reflected in her voice. She didn't want to have Sinestro die but if it was for the greater cause then it had to be done. If only she could convince him by words or pain. Looking on the positive, Pride was aware that Sinestro wasn't attacking her like he had managed earlier. Although that might be because of the sudden change of scenery. It was probably best to put him in her soul-self soon, where it was completely her realm. There she would have the most power and Sinestro would have no choice but to join or watch his fears come to life. So Pride decided to do just that and she started to pull them towards her soul-self. This was her last chance of convincing Sinestro to join her and the demon hoped that he would give in.[/style] tags: Sinestro, Titans, Doctor Fate, Possible Other word count: N/A muse: Various notes: Nightmare time! It didn’t seem like this Pride was anything more than talk, which meant he probably didn’t have too much to worry about after all. She was talking about fear and threatening him, which also made him feel more annoyed than anything else. Even if she had been attacking him, or doing something more than showing him a ball of light, he probably wouldn’t have been anything other than irritated by the threats. After all, no one threatened him with something like fear- he was the master of fear, and no one knew more about it than he did. He did not think she would be able to get him to be afraid. No one could.
He shot away from her before she could try anything, deciding he had waited long enough to try and see what her motives were or if she might be able to reveal some other side of Raven that he could appeal to. There would have to be another method of brining back the other Raven- he was tired of waiting around and listening to her constantly tell him that he needed to join her. It was getting just as annoying as being threatened with fear.
“Enough of this. Take us back to the real world- I’ll show you just how willing I am to join your cause. I’m done talking. This is going in circles and getting us no where. If I have to be the one to actually make the first attack, so be it.” He pointed his ring at her, launching into an offensive. He wasn’t in the best position, but it seemed like there was little else he could do since she wasn’t making any kind of headway.
Even if he was in some weird place with his own soul, he would have to fight.
He created several long, sharp swords, each one looking a little different from the last. They all pointed and launched at Raven, while Sinestro himself charged in and grabbed hold of one of the swords, using it to slash at her midsection while the others moved to stab her where ever they could manage to swoosh through. He wasn’t controlling them to target specific parts, more using them as a way to further limit her means of escape from his main attack. If he could get a little more of an edge, he would.
Not that he felt he needed it- he wasn’t even sure she knew how to attack more than taking him into her soul self and summoning that bird of hers. It was the only magic, besides some other minor spells, that he had seen from her. But that didn’t mean Pride wasn’t different. She could have a whole section of magic Raven couldn’t normally get to.
He needed to be careful, but he also needed to take action. Such was the life of a Green Lantern.
(Sorry. I really didn't know what to put for this.)

[atrb=border,0,true][style=width:426; height:625; background:black url(URL HERE); padding:10px; text-align:justify; font-family:arial; font-size:12px; font-style:Calibri; line-height:11px; letter-spacing:1px; color:white; overflow:auto][style=float:left; margin-right:10px] Why couldn't he see the truth, Pride wondered, as her four red eyes took in the form of the Green Lantern. Why did he not join her cause? She was clearly correct and there were so many lives that could be saved by her! The earth was hers to rule by right. Sensing his emotions and the way things were going, Pride started to bare her sharp teeth, lip slowly raising like an animal sensing a fight about to arise. “Enough of this. Take us back to the real world- I’ll show you just how willing I am to join your cause. I’m done talking. This is going in circles and getting us no where. If I have to be the one to actually make the first attack, so be it.” At that, Pride's eyes narrowed and she gave a feral snarl at Sinestro. He had chosen wrong and now he must die.
That was if she got a chance. Pride was powerful, daughter and heir to the demon Trigon, but a Green Lantern was a worthy foe to face. And the swords did not look very easy to deal with. Within her own soul or standing next to another's soul left the demon in a vulnerable position. She could not attack or defend with her formidable abilities although that did not mean that she was defenceless. So with Sinestro and the swords charging towards her, Pride used the spell she found easiest to summon at short noticed, a powerful electrical blast aimed at everything around her. The swords, Sinestro, his soul. To be fair, Pride had never tried attacking a soul directly so she had no idea if it would even have any effect but the lightning heading towards Sinestro should be effective. It had knocked out her brothers last time Pride had used that spell.
But to continue to fight here would be a bad idea. Pride was limited in her abilities while the Green Lantern had no such cap. If the demon could get to her soul-self then those green swords should prove to be of no worry. As it was, even while she was firing lightning and pulling them back into the real world, she caught a glint of green too close. Moving her arm to block it as she couldn't provide any other defence, the word caught her arm and demon blood hit the ground. Pride had managed to pull herself out and she presumed Sinestro had moved back into the real world as well. Still, the demon left no chance and soon was a dark raven, flying a good distance away from the Green Lantern before forming and looking to see if Sinestro had been pulled out with her. If she saw any sign of green, she would move in for the kill.[/style]
