Razer
You won't win unless you can do what is necessary! Can you do it? Can you!?
.....................................................................
Full name: Razer (first, middle, last)
Age: His age in earth years is unknown. But his emotional age is close to that of his early twenties, old enough to become a warrior and be married in his society, but young enough to make critical errors in judgment. His society wasn't one that allowed people to grow old, so people started younger than most on the emotional curve. (how old are you?)
Date of Birth: Unknown (year is not required)
Sexual Orientation: hetero (hetero, bi or gay)
Species:Volkreg (human, mutant, other)
Alliance: Red Lantern Corps, Villain (SHIELD, free lance hero, villain, avenger, justice league, free lance mutant, x-men, brotherhood, civilian)
Citizenship: DC (what universe is your character from? DC or Marvel)
Canon or Original?: DC canon (specify if DC or Marvel canon)
"Victory is MINE Baldy!
And if you had any hair I'd take that too!"
And if you had any hair I'd take that too!"
Hair: Kept short, in a bun. (length, preferred style, be descriptive)
Eyes: Very thin grey eyes, almost to the point of being slits. (shade, shape, again be descriptive)
Height:5'8 (in feet and inches please)
Weight:180 lbs (in pounds please)
Distinguishing Marks: His skin is very pale, to the point of looking similar to a human skull. Several black lines trace his face, and his eyes are surrounded by black skin. All these are parts of his alien race, though the pale skin was exacerbated by exposure to his red power ring. (scars, tattoos, piercings)
Appearance: Razer is a thin, wiry specimen, with a light build. He is marked by several features of his alien race, pale skin, facial markings, and the unusual shape and coloration of his eyes. Despite this, he's obviously muscular, a result of his combat experience in his home's militia, as well as service as a Red Lantern. He is normally clothed in the garb of a Red Lantern, but can occasionally be seen wearing clothes from his home planet, when his ring is low on power or when he sees fit to remove the power ring. (At least one descriptive paragraph)
Face Claim: (if you have a celeb you wish to use, put their name here, but make sure they are not taken first.)
"I’m not interested in making new friends,
I don’t even like the ones I have”
I don’t even like the ones I have”
Likes: Ilana, Distractions, Technology, Serving a higher cause, Power. (at least five)
Dislikes: Memories, Senseless killing, Wasting time, Sentimentality, Weakness. (at least five)
Personality: Razer has a great deal of anger, in him, a requirement of being a Red Lantern. But the core of his personality is not rage, but sorrow and loss. Losing his wife broke Razer, reduced him from a heroic individual into a coiled mass of nerves, lashing out at whatever he can in an attempt to fill the void in his heart. Even before the accident, Razer wanted power to protect those close to him, and the death of his wife instilled that value into him all the more. He craves power, to ensure that no one can take anything from him ever again.
However, at his core...there is still good within him. While he lost his way and gave into rage, gave himself up to become an embodiment of fury and hatred, he isn't quite so far gone that he is beyond hope. He still has enough of himself to detest senseless violence, only killing those people he feels are responsible for either his pain or for pain inflicted on others, the core reason he sides with Atrocitus against the Guardians of Oa. But the scars are so deep, it is difficult for anyone to see him as anything but a monster. Especially himself. (at least two good paragraphs)
To him, Atrocitus is a source of vengeance, but he feels there is more than that. The power from his Red Power Rings sustain him, but he feels that Atrocitus' righteous rage at losing his home, that feeling of loss, makes him someone that can understand his own rage. While inside, he wonders if Atrocitus has become too indiscriminate in his rage, lashing out at people unrelated to their conflict, he can take the long view, think of the greater good under most circumstances. It would take a deeply traumatizing event to shake his loyalty.
He prefers working alone when possible, he holds many other Red Lanterns in contempt. He feels that they are lost to their rage, and while on some level he both empathizes with and envies them, he holds on to some rules of honor and respect. Innocents are sacrosanct to him, as people caught up in a war beyond them was where he came from. He doesn't want to create others like him, other broken people.
"With great power comes great responsibility"
Powers
Red Power Ring: His ring, fueled by rage and a Red Power Battery, allows him to channel plasma constructs, bound only by his ingenuity. However, given that it requires a state of rage, under combat circumstances most constructs will be rather simple.
Beams: Rather than form constructs with the energy, it can be channeled directly into a beam of power from the ring. Strong, but nowhere near as versatile as a construct could be.
Force Fields: Allows the creation of barriers and shields to protect the Lantern from enemy attacks, as well as hazardous environments. Commonly forms a shield around itself to travel in space, and through manipulation allows the Lantern to fly.
Rage Plasma: An ace in the hole for a Red Lantern, allows an alternate focus from the ring for an even more powerful beam. Energy can be vomited from the mouth, and the force is akin to a mix of acid and napalm: Everything is burned and eaten away before a Red Lantern's rage.: (Please describe your powers in detail, if any)
Weapons
Red Power Ring. (if you do not use weapons, just put n/a, three max unless canon)
Strengths/Abilities:
Despite being born on a low-technology planet, his short time with the Red Lantern corps had him take to machinery like a fish to water.
His time serving with the militia, as well as his practice with rage constructs, has given him ample practiced with melee weaponry.
The emotional loss he's sustained has made him fairly resistant to pain and manipulation. He's simply past the point of caring.
His force fields allow him to repel gas based attacks, as long as the time it takes to notice them isn't enough to infect him with the poison.
(at least 3)
Weaknesses:
The loss of his wife is a painful memory, and one that can be exploited by a telepath or the like.
Rage powers his abilities, if he could be pacified, his power goes with it. Under normal circumstances, his loss makes rage a constant part of his life, but manipulation can tilt things.
The ring itself can become a weakness, using it for extended periods reduces his control, turning him more and more into a mindless destroyer. He detests this state, and will try and limit himself more than other Red Lanterns would, but it can still easily trigger.
Despite the powerful nature of his constructs, his physical body is little more than average, something of a glass cannon. He can take hits, but if his constructs are bypassed, he is little stronger than a powerless individual.
Blue and Star Sapphire rings are anathema to any Red Lantern. They interfere with his ability to feel rage, and any Green Lantern powered by a Blue Lantern ring is surely stronger than he is.
Psionics are effective against him, as they can slip around any construct he tries to make. Even more so if telepathy is included, as that could easily bring up the memories that cripple him.

History: Razer's life was one of endless conflict. The time he spent on his homeworld was spent hiding or running from local warlords, who seeked to rule his world with an iron fist. Their petty squabbles were an endless struggle for the people who had to build and maintain a society amidst the bloodshed, and Razer was one such person. One of the few things that could distract him from how miserable life was in a war-torn battlefield was his wife, Ilana. She meant the world to him.
He had spent his younger life learning, he was a gifted scholar. In a peaceful time, he might have been a great innovator for his people, someone that could bring their society up. However, circumstances did not coincide with that. In an effort to protect his newfound love and happiness, Razer joined up with the local militia, to keep the warlords out of their homes. He did this against the urging of his wife, who pleaded with him to avoid that dangerous life, saying they needed more people to build society up, doctors, builders, then more soldiers to tear it all down. In this role, he did well, proving himself a capable warrior, and defending their village from the invading warlords. However, in a cruel twist of fate, Ilana was caught in a crossfire, and perished, with him alive despite being in a nominally more dangerous position than she was. His life's meaning was taken from him, he had joined the militia to save those he cared for, but he was too weak to stop it.
At that moment, he felt more helpless than ever before, despite his best efforts, the one thing that made his life living was cruelly ripped from him. At that moment, in his weakest point, Atrocitus' words emanated from a Red Power Ring, calling him to a new life, where he would never be weak again. The ring called to him, promising him power, promising him vengeance, and at that point, Razer was truly willing to accept.
As a Red Lantern, Razer lives to serve Atrocitus. He empathizes with the loss Atrocitus suffered at the hands of the Guardian's Manhunters, and sees the Guardians as a fitting scapegoat for him to destroy, a worthy adversary for him to kill and die fighting. And until the time comes when his remaining morals might be tested, he is the enemy of them, and their puppets, the Green Lanterns. However, the loss of his wife and the pithy squabbling nature of the warlords who ruled his home instilled within him a deep contempt for senseless violence, and takes care not to harm those unrelated to his quest, unless they make it their concern.
Within the Red Lantern Corps, Razer is something of a rising star. He has the notice of Atrocitus, and feels a great respect for his lord. Despite his relative youth and inexperience, he is a powerful Lantern, and is responsible for many technological acheivements within the corps. This favored status has earned him the disdain of other Red Lanterns, a feeling he is perfectly willing to reciprocate.
Most of his assignments now were guerilla actions, killing individual Lanterns who stray too far from Oa, a task suited to his tendency to do things alone. He quickly grew a practical contempt to go along with his learned hatred for them. They were weak, their willpower nothing to stand before his rage. And yet they fancied themselves the saviors of the galaxy...his resolve to wipe them out grew all the stronger. He would teach them their place, or die in the attempt.

"With blood and rage of crimson red..."
One of the Guardian's dogs lay dead beneath Razer's feet. It was an expertly crafted ambush, drawn down by a distress signal that he himself had created. The Green Lantern he had fought was a powerful one, though. Even with the element of surprise fully in his favor, he managed to turn the tide and almost one, the fight dragging on. His Red Power Ring was all but depleted by the time it was over. Few Green Lanterns could fare so well...if he hadn't been unlucky, he might have been able to finally have peace.
"Ripped from a corpse so freshly dead..."
A small part of him wonders what might happen when he falls. He was no fool...he knew that he wouldn't live to see the Guardians destroyed. And he wouldn't want to. He'd have to find something new to hate if it did. However...if he did die, what would happen to him? Would he just extinguish himself? Was there some kind of afterlife waiting for him? Was it possible he might get to see-
At that moment, it felt like a cargo holder door slammed shut on his mind. He did not allow himself to think like that. That only brings back...distractions. He did not need distractions.
"Together with our hellish hate..."
He wouldn't be distracted. He would kill. He would kill and kill and kill, to repay his master for the chance to make something of his rage, to have it explode outward instead of collapse inward. It kept him going, and that alone was worth what was left of him. There is no hope for the future, nothing more to his existence than punishing those who could take from others, by taking their lives. Watching the green light of the fallen Lantern's power ring fly off, he grins in satisfaction as his ring senses a new presense entering, another lantern sent to investigate.
"We'll burn you all! That is your fate!" And with that proclamation, his rage exploded once more, driving him onward, giving him purpose.
"I'm through talking, get out of my cave,"
