Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

Dick stood there atop the Wayne Tower in Gotham looking over the city. He decided that since Bludhaven had been in a rather peaceful phase lately that he would go back to his home and see how his mentor was doing. It was strange, he could usually spot any figures from this height that would have on a cape. Then again it was rather early and the sun had just gone down, everyone knows that Batman didn't come out until the dark. He was crouching along the side of a ledge over looking Gotham. It brought nostalgia into play, he began to remember his time here as Robin, at Bruce's side. They tackled all issues together, whether big or small. Then Dick got a bit too old to be under Bruce's wing anymore, and Dick finally realized what it was Batman had prepared him for. It was to be his replacement, a stand in should anything happen, God forbid he have to take up the mantle of the Dark Knight.
Now Bruce would be more of Dick's partner, and the hero side kick dynamic was gone, Dick was seasoned to an extent. After all he had been fighting crime from a young age. He was now twenty-five years old. Hardly a kid by any stretch, and he had moved to his own city to operate as he knew Bruce would want him to do. His eyes began to glow red in the night, and he got up from his crouched position to stand on the ledge before leaping off and skydiving to a lower level. Once he got low enough he used his grappling hook to pull himself towards a building that was about two stories and lined the street.
He stood there for a moment scanning the area below him. Nothing once more, this was beginning to get old quick, he knew Gotham wasn't this goody goody, hell had had spent his entire childhood fighting the city. Villains like The Joker, Two Face, Penguin, Freeze, Riddler, all of them. He wanted them to see him all grown up, sure that it would bring some sort of nostalgia to them as well, seeing the first Boy Wonder as a new full fledged hero.
He reached in his gauntlet and pulled out a granola bar that he had been stashing for anytime he needed food. His body did metabolize food very quickly, which made sense because he was always on the move, and move was an understatement. He was more of an acrobat than his mentor Bruce, but that was attributed to him being a spry young buck, still though, he thought perhaps he was more acrobatic than Bruce in his prime still. But he wouldn't bring that up to the caped crusader, he would just wait until they had to chase a villain or something and outrun him for the fun of it.

An eagle in the city of Gotham was a strange sight. The city did not boast much wildlife besides the rats and the pigeons. She was transformed into a Martial Eagle, a species of bird only native to sub-Saharan Africa. With its nearly eight foot wingspan, short of breaking out of the zoo there was no way it would have been soaring through the city of Gotham.
What Jayna did not know was that the man was an undercover cop, but she had seen him hustle over an innocent grocery store owner, claiming a debt owed through 'protection' fees. The Exxorian female did not know much about Earth customs, but knocking down the entire display of apples and threatening the owner sure did not appear as though he was protecting at all. She had seen such practices happen during her time in the circus, though it did not bear the same name. It was still stealing, and Jayna would not stand for it. Not one bit.
"He's turning into the alley way!" she called out to her brother, Zan, who was also in pursuit. Jayna was trying to get the birds eye view, so to speak, of their perp as he tried to make his escape. "Zan hurry!" she shouted once more, swooping down to stall the believed-to-be criminal by pecking him repeatedly over the head.

The whole convenience store rough housing was something that did not sit well with Zan. Opting with jumping in to help the poor man being hustled for “protection” fees it was not obvious to figure out if the man running from the twins being an undercover cop or not. Zan had went for ice claws so he could keep after the perpetrator on foot than need to be carried by his sister in a bucket.
The man can run fast and it was posing to be an issue with him to keep up. Plus people on the streets weren't that helpful on moving right away. Even with an eagle on their tale! How can someone not move from that sight? This annoyed Zan greatly and was about to lose the man on foot after bumping into a few people.
“I'm hurrying, Jayna!” he replied back to his sister. People seemed to be shocked the eagle was talking! As soon as the man rounded the corner, Zan managed to catch up and tackle him to the ground, pointing a fist of ice at the man's face. “How about you give back what you owe that man? Protecting for money is still stealing.”
The man looked very angry at the Exxorian. Now since they were pretty much alone he could talk. “You idiots! I'm an undercover cop! You could of caused me to lose my case and months of investigation work,” he stated, not really letting the talking eagle sink in like others on the street were. “Get off of me and I'll show you my badge. And next time don't go stepping into things you don't understand. Even with powers you could get yourselves killed.”
Zan let the man up and still kept a wary eye on him. The Gotham Police badge was shone and it caused the Wonder Twin to deactivate his powers so his arms had returned to normal. “We screwed up again, Jayna,” he said with a bit of sulking in his voice.

[/color][/style][/style] [style=text-align:center; text-size: 9px;]WORDS: ### TAGGED: Everyone XP NOTES:I promise my next post will be better [/color] Cassandra had finished her lesson's for the day with Alfred. The young woman, pulled her hair back behind her shoulders as she decided to go out on her own in the city. The sun had just gone down, so it was early enough to be on the roof's, and in the shadows alone. After all Cass had proven her self to the Bat a few weeks ago, yea she was shot but it all did not matter in her mind.
The nerves she had were dulled from being shot by her father as a child to train. Two for flinching was more than a game, each time she flinched in pain two more would be fired at her. Cassandra wanted to be alone for a while, to think. She was out with Tim the last few nights. Sure, he was growing on her, but she wondered if he trusted her. After all she was born as an assassin and trained as one. To be a body guard, she killed an innocent man when she was eight years old.
Thought everything came into play. Barbara seemed to trust Cassandra and now the Bat did as well. Though there were more Bat's in the family besides the ones who resided at the Manor. Her had pulled her mask over her face before she had slid on the boots and opened her window to sneak off early.
Cassandra jumped down landing in a crouched position before she had taken off into the shadows, it was not very long before she reached the city. Cassandra had climbed up an fire escape in an alley until she reached the near the top she then jumped grabbing the edge and pulling her self up onto the ledge of the apartment building before looking around the city. She sighed ass he spotted a dark figure a distance away. Was Robin out before her? No. He had classes though, unless he ditched them.
The girl was curious as she started to jump across from building to building until she landed on the building behind the one the figure was on, she watched a Hawk go by following it with her face, her eyes were covered and her mouth. She was more in tune with the shadows this way. Cassandra sighed as she pulled a black long thick rope from her belt that looked ready to fall off her small waist as she moved waiting to see what the man would do before she would head across, the outfit was not Robin's so who was he? Cassandra then heard the noise form the alley ahead as she saw two people tackle a man who said he was an undercover cop. She could not blame them, he looked like a bad guy.

Dick watched as the two of them chased the guy down the alleyway, he did not pay any attention to the fact that one of the beings chasing the man was a hawk, he figured he would get to the bottom of things in a second. He followed them down to the end of the alleyway by running along the rooftop. He had never seen such a spectacle, a bird and a kid with ice hands tackling an undercover cop and almost exposing him? Hilarious, or at least Dick thought so. He was about to drop down when a proximity alert went off on his mask drawing his attention away from the alleyway. There was apparently someone around who wasn't supposed to be there, and they had managed to get this close un-noticed which led him to believe it could only be one person, The Dark Knight himself.
Dick spun around and switched his lenses to thermal imaging to see a figure on a roof top not too far from where he was, though the shape made it apparent that it was not Bruce, he was still curious as the individual did have on a cape (That didn't show up on the thermals, but he could see it waving). He smiled, apparent;y Bruce was still helping the kids who were like him as a youth. Dick himself was one, seeing his parents murdered right before his eyes could have had a much more adverse affect on him had Bruce not offered a hand.
He turned his attention back to the alley and dropped down behind them silently so as not to start a commotion. ''Hey, you guys sure are making the guy's job easier aren't you?'', he asked chuckling still standing in the darkness as his red eyes gleamed. He expected the Bat would have been here by now, this was beginning to feel uncharacteristic of him. To be honest, Dick wanted to show Bruce the new things he picked up while working on his own, he was fully aware that Bruce had taken up new partners, but surely none of them had the type of chemistry that they had when it came to crime fighting.
He learned everything he knew about this business from Bruce, compassion, loyalty, courage. All came from his mentor, and he was proud. But now was the time for the two to reconvene, and apparently Bruce would need his help, the way the city was, it was too much to handle as well as managing the egos of new sidekicks. Especially if they were like he was at first.

Still feathered as an eagle, she flew over to her place next to Zan and returned back to her original form, deflated as ever. Couldn't they just get this one thing right? Be great heroes just like the Batman and Superman and all the others?! Jayna just wanted to become a great protector like them; she wanted to be better than what she was raised to believe all these years. She had something to prove and she wasn't proving it. She could practically hear the heckled words ringing at her ears at this moment, their memories echoing off of the alleyway's walls. Mutant. Freak.
She wondered if Zan could hear it too. She took his hand for comfort.
Though she didn't expect anyone else to turn up. Sure, it was to be expected at some point their crime fighting would catch the eye of some esteemed hero, but she was sure it wouldn't be this day, not when everything was going so horribly wrong. Today was not exactly a shining moment for the Wonder Twins.
Jayna flinched at Nightwing's words, catching the glint of the accents of his uniform in the dark. "Zan. Zan!" she tugged on her brother's sleeve, "Its one of the Bats!" the excitement was making her head spin, but her heart dropped when what he said registered fully in her mind. Jayna tried to summon up some clever words in reply, but could only muster a meek "Oops?" and shrug innocently. This only proceeded to make the cop angrier. He was going to have to explain so much after all of this; it might have even blown his cover.
"Oops? All you can say is Oops?! Do the world a favor thing one and thing two and leave the hero business to the professionals."
Everything he was saying was right. Jayna could only look down at her shoes in defeat.

He waited for his sister to transform back into her humanoid form. Why can't things ever go right? Zan was feeling bad enough that he wasn't sure if the cop could do any more damage to his bruised hero ego. At least no one else from the streets seemed to have followed them. Zan had been watching the opening to the alley they were standing in out of the corner of his eye.
No one was there. Not even aware that Nightwing had dropped in on the scene or that Batgirl was above them still. Zan didn't think the same thing that Jayna did with remembering the past. He wanted to move on from all that. A hard thing to do when it was years of their youth taken from them. Hence all the good he was trying to do with his twin sister.
He glanced over from where Nightwing's voice was coming from as he gave his sister's hand a little squeeze with his. “It really is, Jayna! Gadzooks! I can't believe we ran into one of them.” Zan was just as excited as Jayna is for meeting one of Gotham's heroes. But he frowned with what had been said. “We didn't know and was only trying to help.”
Flinching when the cop got on their case, Zan wondered if Nightwing was going to give them a lecture and tell them to quite too. Him and his sister are still getting used to how things worked around the city! They couldn't be blamed for not knowing such things as how to tell when a cop is working under cover. “Maybe we should just go, Jayna. Gleek is probably wondering when we're coming back,” he suggested, but not really going to give up the hero business forever. Just for the remainder of the night.

[/color][/style][/style] [style=text-align:center; text-size: 9px;]WORDS:782 TAGGED: All. NOTES: I promise my next post will be better [/color] Cassandra watched Nightwing move as she followed him with her eyes before looking at the two other figures. Cass threw the rope as it wrapped around a rail of the other buildings fire escape letting her use it ti glide half way before she tugged on the rope making it release the metal it clung to. Cassandra sued her cape to glide herself silently into the shadows of the alley. She stood behind and to the left or Nightwing. Trying to figure out who he was. She heard one of the other figures call him a Bat.
That was odd. She knew he was not Robin or the Robin that was currently with her in the Manor one of them had died, there was another but she had yet the chance to know him. Though Barbara did speak about him. She looked back and forth between the three of them before she stepped out of the shadows standing to the left side of Nightwing but with enough distance from him in case he would attack. She was watching all them closely there emotions were happy or excited when they called the figure a bat then they seemed to veer off in another direction.
She knew if she had taken down a cop Batman would of lectured her like no tomorrow, she was not ready for that. After all she had finished her detox program he had her go through. It kept Cassandra from going back to drugs that was for sure. She then looked at the twins raising an eyebrow under her mask before looking at Nightwing."Bat.... You no... Robin... who.. you" Cassandra said before looking at the two other figures.
She wondered what his back story was with Bruce if he was a Bat? Cassandra was born into the dark side only to find the light after killing a man as a child. Ripping his throat out was not just a saying she did it as a eight year old with her own small hand. Cassandra then looked at the twins in reference to the cop as she crossed her arms watching everyone before speaking well trying to speak once more.
" They always like that.. here.. being sneaks.. act like bad guy to catch bad guy... not easy." Cassandra said looking at Jayna and Zan. before she spoke softly once more.' Who you? "
Cassandra's speech was getting better from Alfred, after all she did not speak before she fell under Batman the Bruce's care. Cassandra is even starting to learn to write and read, though it was a long process it was worth it. She then looked how Jayna or the female was holding on to Zan or the males arm, she seemed comfortable like that. Her mind ran in a million directions as she was listening and watching her surroundings as well as the three people near her. she wanted to be ready in case they or something else decided to attack.

He stood there as the two of them fumbled over themselves as they saw him, and they referred to him as a ''Bat'', no doubt they knew where they were and who reigned over this area. He smiled as he was about to say something before a disjointed group of words rang out and startled him. It was the figure he had spotted with his thermal lenses, she had gotten up on him without him knowing it, that was rare, Bruce really was recruiting some talent. He looked at her as he tried to make out what she was saying. No doubt she had some sort of impediment. It did not matter though, they were a group of few words to begin with and he was really the chattiest one, but that was part of his charm. What was the point of being like Bruce? All melancholy and dry. One life to live, might as well smile.
But then again he remembered all the reasons he had not to smile and that brought him back down to earth where they were. Of course he was part of the family, and some would even say he was second in command when Bruce was out of commission for whatever reason. After all he was the oldest or at least he thought he was. Nobody had come before him that he knew of unless Bruce was lying about his age, which he was pretty sure was not the case. ''I'm Nightwing... And from your uniform I'm guessing you are one of my replacements'', he said folding his arms across his chest and giving her a glance over slightly.
She was lean, not too small, but he could definitely tell that she had pretty good acrobatic ability and athleticism off jump. Of course he wasn't going to choose some overweight person would could barely run around a track once, these abilities were necessary to anyone who was thinking of being in the Batfamily. ''I'm assuming you are Batgirl young lady'', he continued as he looked away from her and back to the other two.
''And you two, you should leave the criminal work to the professionals, This line of work is dangerous, especially when you are in Gotham. But nonetheless, Gotham is under our watch, and your help, though appreciated, is unwarranted, and un-needed. I don't mean to sound rude or anything, though the big guy would just tell you plain and simple to get out of his city. I am the kinder more gentle type. I only suggest that you change your approach'', he said smiling and unfolding his arms. Still though, any help was appreciated, but these two were starting to resemble novices.

The Bats were people she had always looked up to, heroes she aspired to like and idolized. She made no note or comment on Cassandra's unusual human speech pattern, after all, who was she, an Exxorian alien, to judge? Perhaps it was another dialect of English she'd yet to encounter, but it was only a fleeting thought. After all, she was absolutely crestfallen right now. All air had left her lungs and her violet eyes traced the grain of the alley's concrete. There were traces of holes and wear, like much of the city it was imperfect- imperfect, just like she and Zan.
Odd to find comfort in such a small detail, but she clung to it like she clung to her brother's hand. He was her strength after all. Together they were wonderful. Family made you strong, just like the bats, just like everyone.
She looked up, revived by the new hope, and the question of her name. Where she had felt so small before, now she was being asked her name. She perked up almost immediately, the air filling her lungs once more. "Jayna-er a Wonder Twin! One half of a perfect set."
[/b] she nodded at her own words, brushing her shoulders back and tightening her posture. He was a bat, but he wasn't anyone to say who she could or couldn't be. Who they could be. No one decided that for them anymore; it was their life, their choices. Their decisions belonged to them. "Anyone can make a mistake, Bat sir, Nightwing!"[/b] she began in a rather chipper tone. "We're still learning about Earth, this city. It's like, man you weren't always this bat wonder, right? We can get better!"[/b] Jayna added with determination written all over her features. They could do this. They could. She just knew it. ♊ [/size][/font] Tag: Zan, Cassandra, Dick • Words: 300ish • Outfit: civ clothes • Notes: - - - [/div] [/style]
