Distinguishing Marks: A large, white spider on both his back and stomach, connecting at the feet of the zig-zagging legs. Large, which patches on the back of each hand, blobbed white eyes, razor sharp teeth, an oversized mouth and prehensile tongue.

Appearance: Venom's look is subject to change - depending on his strength, levels of hunger, host and feeling, he can range from a great, extremely muscled, hulking beast with wild tendrils swinging carelessly, to short and almost human like with a keen likeness to Spiderman when he had put the suit to use. What never changes is the way he carries himself - ruthless, careless and aggressive - as well as that signature, drooling smirk that give many unfortunate people nightmares. Safe to say, you don't want to meet Venom when things go bump in the night.

Personality:

Venom has...complications. Aggressive, hostile, malicious, menacing and unpredictable, he takes great pleasure in toying with his chosen prey. A member of the symbiote race, he has no problem with tearing apart crowds of people or bringing about the end of a race - the symbiotes already synonymous with the end of a species' survival. He remorselessly feeds on memories, emotions and life force of hosts, draining it of it's various bodily fluids before ejecting it for a new hosting organism.

Despite this, he is also very much emotionally stinted; Venom feels hurt by the rejection he faced from Spiderman, and again when he was rejected by Eddie Brock. Because of this, he has become a host jumper, and is more interested in his own desires than any of a host's. Still, he carries habits from his time with Brock - continuing to refer to himself as "we", talking about himself and the host rather than just himself, the controlling organism.

Powers:

Super strength, speed, agility & durability - Venom enhances all of these traits from the host.

Super healing/Regeneration - Venom heals from damage at a super speed, and regenerates from sustained damage. He also heals the host of illness, disease and injury.

Spider-sense - Venom inherited Spiderman's Spider Sense after joining with him. Because of this, he also negates himself from Spiderman's sense.

Webbing - Inherited from Spiderman, Venom has an endless supply of webbing which he can use on his opponents.

Wall crawling - Inherited from Spiderman, Venom is able to climb buildings and surfaces.

Size/Shape manipulation - Venom can make himself bigger, smaller, fatter or slimmer at will. He can also reshape his body parts to use as weapons - ranging from sharp to blunt objects.

Genetic Memory - Venom retains knowledge and memories of previous hosts.

Mimic - Venom can take the appearance and characteristics of the currently claimed host.

Weapons Only weapons formed from his body.

Weaknesses:

Sonic Blasts - Strong enough to force the symbiote to release the host from their binds, they cause the symbiote great pain as they try to escape, and can even be fatal should it be exposed to the blasts for a long enough duration.

Intense Heat - Symbiotes are very play next to intense heats and fire - though Venom has endured heat and flame based in the past, he still finds them very much painful.

Host Draining - Due to his draining of hosts, Venom must regularly hop in order to remain joined to a living being. Symbiotes require living hosts to survive.

Confinement - Should he be confined to a hostless environment, Venom will practically go into a catatonic state to reserve energy levels until a host comes across him.

History:

Hitting earth on an asteroid, the symbiote was found originally by Spiderman, who thought it to simply be an enhancer soon found otherwise. The symbiote had began to try and merge itself with Parker, learning all there was to know from him about him, while inheriting the various Spiderman traits - through Peter, the symbiote began to learn to adapt and survive. Eventually, Parker learned of the alien's capabilities, as well as how it was effecting both himself and his life in negative ways - symbiotes having very much aggressive, dominating natures as they attempt to corrupt the host with their influence as they drain them of life. He sought to free himself, the alien reluctant to let go, eventually being forced from Peter's body in a bell-tower, the bell causing sonic blasts that allowed Parker to physically rip it from his being.

Hurt, dejected and unable to deal with Parker's rejection, the symbiote soon found Eddie Brock - a man seething with hatred for Spiderman, whom he believed cost him everything. Bonding to Brock quickly, the symbiote became loaded with Brock's emotions and, rather than driving Eddie crazy, instead pushed the symbiote over the line. It became accepting and even affected by Brock's plight, helping him become a vigilante in San Fransisco, as well as save many a human life.

However, rejection soon came as Eddie decided to hang up the Venom mantel - Venom being the name he had coined for himself and the symbiote. Deciding to give up the vigilante life, Eddie sold the symbiote to the highest bidder - in this instance, a prolific mob boss. Venom continued to struggle with rejection as he was fast strapped to his new host - Angelo Fortunato. Son of the boss, Angelo was given Venom to try and make a name for himself, however in confrontation cowered away. Deciding Angelo weak, Venom let his host go in mid-air, leaving him to fall to his death.

Venom went through multiple other hosts, however none either accepted him, or were of enough quality to really be of use to him and, eventually, was captured by scientists, before being dragged off to the North Pole for study. The symbiote went into a catatonic state as it was starved, while it contemplated life from then on. Tired of rejection and of the poor host quality, he made the decision to simply live for himself - eradicate Spiderman, and go through the human race as he so pleased. No love lost, the symbiote systematically worked it's way through military and research staff on the operations base he was held captive, using animals to flee, until eventually, the symbiote returned to the world he was ejected from.

It had all changed, though, with the merging of worlds. Nothing as he remembered it, though perhaps not a bad thing, Venom located his new feeding grounds - Arkham Asylum. A place filled with hosts varying in strength and abilities, the alien has began his steady rise to strength, becoming more and more dangerous, preparing his escape into the mighty city - where the scum will provide his nourishment.
