T.J. nodded his head. It was confusing and it was a bit scary, but it was also exciting. It was like something pulled out of one of his fantasy novels or fantasy movies. He was eager, despite it being a bit scary. He was hopeful that it’d turn out okay. That it’d be okay in the end. That he’d find the ‘one’ and that he’d be a hero. And even if he didn’t find the one or have a family in the future, he knew he’d be a hero. He knew that, albeit while he might stand alone, he could take comfort in the fact that others take shelter in the shadow he would cast.
“Yes, his work is very good. He’s talented. My favorite of his characters he’s created are Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus, and Nico DiAngelo, son of Hades. Leo always makes me laugh. Though I did admire Charles Beckendorf as well.” T.J. said as he thought of Riordan’s works.
T.J. was glad to see the little boy run ahead and begin to lead the way. In case the little boy didn’t know where the nearest station was, T.J. did know. His father worked as a police officer. T.J. was nervous his father might be there. He certainly didn’t want him to be there. He hadn’t thought of an excuse and he was sure his farther would recognize him. Be it by voice or looks or even by the way he acted. T.J. tried to shake off the thoughts. he tried to push them to the back of his mind as he thought about what Lilith had said. “I try to always help at least one person a day.” It might have sounded like some easy sort of thing, but most people didn’t really help others on a daily basis. And he had only just gotten his Blue Lantern ring so he had been doing this before he had gotten the ring.
T.J. looked at the little boy who was leading the way to the police station. “What about you uh . . . um . . . I don’t think we caught your name before,” T.J. said realizing they hadn’t asked the boy’s name. it was have an inquiry for the boy’s name as well.
