Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/blackmiddle.png] Sinestro knew the name Wayne. even if some memories had been altered in his mind, the name was not something he had forgotten. Actually, he knew a lot more than just the name. He knew the man, Bruce, was also the vigilante Batman, and that he was a very clever, very competent superhero. He knew he was not a threat, but that didn't mean he was going to let the man go unnoticed. Regardless of their overall worth, Sinestro was not the type to let anything go overlooked. So, even though he was not so important as far as potential threats went, the yellow lantern had decided to make himself known to Bruce. Remind him that he really was worthless, as all humans were, and not to think that he could get involved with trying to stop him from taking control of the planet.
Actually, that didn't really feel like his motivation at all, but it was what he was going with. Somehow, it felt like someone else entirely had drawn him towards Wayne's offices, and not because they were a threat to be dealt with. But thinking about it gave him a headache, and he really didn't like anyone giving him pain, even if they weren't aware of it. So whoever was in the building was going to pay, and if anyone asked he would say it was all just to make an example of Batman.
Right.
The yellow lantern created two massive snake constructs, letting them wrap around the building, crashing against the frames and bursting through the windows. They attacked the humans inside, more or less inhaling anything in front of them before shooting back out another window and moving around to another portion of the building. The long serpents slithered around the large structure, causing chaos where ever they went. While they weren't big enough to cause the building to fall over, they were creating enough damage to have a floor or two start to collapse from the destruction.
It was weird, but something in the back of his mind hoped that the snakes wouldn't locate the one he was trying to think of, but couldn't quite place. The one giving him headaches. So then, why was he attacking? Some kind of strange compulsion? Even he had noticed he found himself eager to attack anything that almost reminded him of whatever had been wiped from his memory in the past.
While his snakes had fun with the floor towards the middle of the building, Sinestro moved through a window near the top, landing himself down on the rocking floor without concern. Hey, he could fly, so he didn't care if the building was rumbling like it was stuck in a constant earthquake.
He moved through the offices with a very indifferent expression, searching for someone without the faintest idea what they looked like or even what gender they were. How very strange. Still, he imagined the same thing that was telling him to find the person would also let him know when said person had been discovered. Or he would have wasted a lot of time.
And that would piss him off.
He moved into one of the larger offices, which seemed to belong to someone named 'Eve Amherst"

Eve was literally so bored right now it was beginning to hurt, her shoulders were aching, her leg was cramping and her mind kept wandering to anything else. Maybe she needed a vacation, the brunette had always heard nice things about Maui, clear waters, great food, the type of atmosphere that got people to let loose and live a little. And best yet, it was far away from here, people had been having a bad tendency of trying to cause her more bodily harm then usual lately. Absentmindedly her hand went up to her throat, rubbing it quickly, she was still using makeup to cover up the fading scar the Riddler had left her with, that dick. Eve had officially zoned out, even though she was still staring at the paper in front of her, she wasn't even seeing it, right now she was laying on a beach getting a tan and drinking rum out of a coconut. Maybe get a massage, oooo she should get one of those vibrating massage chairs, it would probably help the sore muscles in her back. The brunette could feel it now......wait. That was the building. She blinked back to reality, yes that was the building moving right now, which was immediately disconcerting because buildings just weren't supposed to move. What the hell was that? Earthquake? Gotham didn't get earthquakes. She couldn't hear the panic, or the destruction from the lower floors because her office was soundproof, usually a blessing. Not that it mattered right now, instinct was dictating she get the hell out of there, and Eve had decided long ago to listen to that little voice, it had a way of ensuring her continued survival, which was definitely a good thing. Grabbing her purse and making sure her keys were in it Eve strode to her door, tossed it open and stepped out, all with a purpose, and almost ran smack into the alien. Literally barely stopping a nose away from his decidedly broad chest, she was pretty much cross eyed looking at the strange mark on his chest, Eve couldn't remember seeing him sporting that one before. "Thaal, hey, what'a brings you to this neck of the woods?" She took a step back so she could actually look at the man, "Wait, why are you in yellow? Don't you usually run around in a nice green ensemble?" Eve liked the green, it was her favorite color after all, she was just about to give him her usual curious once over when she thought she heard something.........well being destroyed, and decided that this really wasn't the place to chat, "Actually, ya know what, how about we skedaddle first, I don't know what has this buildin' rockin' but it doesn't sound good, come on there's a stairway over there," Eve said and motioned to the other end of the room, lightly taking his arm to give him a tug in the direction. She figured she could always wonder about the fashion change later, but having already been in one collapsing building was more then enough for her lifetime thank you. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/blackmiddle.png] Sinestro was more than a little surprised when he had some random human very nearly crash into him. His body had reacted with him drawing up his hand, ready to shoot the woman right through the chest. but he didn't fire, arching an eyebrow as he looked down at the figure in front of him. She was looking at him in a way that suggested she knew him, and when she spoke she only proved that to be the case. Once again, he found himself standing in front of someone who knew him, when he had no idea who they were. And calling him Thaal? Even the guardians had needed to do some research before learning his first name. She asked him why he wasn't in green, and he frowned.
He was getting a headache.
When she took his arm and tried to lead him away, he quickly pulled himself away from her, shoving his hand forward and seizing her by her already wounded throat. With very little in terms of restraint, he shoved her against the nearest wall, slamming her back hard against the trembling plaster. His eyes narrowed at her, his grip still loose enough for her to breathe, at least for the moment. Frowning, he watched her.
"You're the one," he growled lowly, "the one I was looking for, though I don't know why. Who are you? Were you the one who altered my memory?" He wasn't sure if he was going to punish her for that, or if he was going to thank her. After all, he didn't like what he had found out about himself so far, and he certainly didn't want to be trapped in the Green Lantern corps again. On the other hand, he didn't like people messing with him in any regard. So he was a little up in the air on that one. Not that he knew if she had anything to do with it in the first place. She was just someone he had some kind of connection to, and it was giving him such a migraine not being able to figure it out.
His grip around her throat tightened ever so slightly, as though demanding a more prompt response.
Meanwhile, his snakes still shook the building, people screaming and fleeing on the floors below, while those above thought it was some kind of earthquake. the panic was definitely further down. One of the snakes seemed to notice this and moved further up the building, slipping around the outside as it slithered higher, passing a few floors before it dove into a window nearer the top. It passed by the floor they were on as it went, a massive yellow head slithering up the window behind Sinestro. The yellow lantern, who was controlling the two beasts, was aware of what it was doing and didn't even bother to spare it a blink as it passed by. His empty yellow eyes were focused on Eve and only Eve. Even the wonderful fear all over the complex wouldn't be enough to distract him from her.

She hadn't seen that coming. At all. Absolutely not prepared for that one. Ok so Sinestro had his dick moments, the first time they had met he was chopping a guy's limb off, but she thought they had gotten past all that, and even considered him a friend at this point, gruff sarcastic nature and all. After all, she was snippy, obnoxious and much the same, even appreciating a few of those quick quips that he made. So when all of a sudden he had her by the throat, the strangled sound that left her was more shock then pain, although pain was definitely a factor to the noise. And then a gasp as she was none too gently slammed against the cream colored wall just outside her office, hard enough she thought her bones rattled and her brain was going to ping pong around in her skull. Unpleasant. The air forced out of her lungs as she tried to breath and process what was going on around her at the same time, neither was working too well at the moment. The brunette managed a shuddering breath, grey eyes wide at the man before her, he must have lost his goddamn mind between the last time they had hung out and now. Oh, well, the question made her think that her sarcastic thought had to be right, "Thaal, dude, the fuck are you talking about?" He squeezed and she whimpered rather pitifully, Eve wasn't exactly a delicate little flower like most people thought her to be, but her neck was still hurting, and the sudden assault on it was bringing a fresh wave of throbbing pain to add to the still dull one, "It's me, Eve, your friend? Remember the whole Dr. Satan thing? Got you really drunk at the Expo?" That had been a pretty damn hilarious night, "I've got pictures on my phone still," Maybe the proof would get him off her. She really hoped that would get him off her, breathing wasn't too easy, and she had a hand around his wrist in a sad attempt to get the pressure to ease off, "I don't know what happened to your memory, but," Jesus christ he was going to kill her, "it wasn't me," Eve couldn't remember the last time she had been this afraid, not even having been kidnapped by the Riddler had affected her this bad, but she had thought the guy pinning her to the wall was her friend. The stare was utterly unsettling in it's own right and she had barely gotten past it to see the giant fucking yellow snake behind him. It had to be a snake, it had to be a chick named Eve with a guy that looked like the devil, and a snake. If she hadn't been busy trying her hardest not to whimper, she might have laughed at the no doubt unintentional biblical reference, was he going to feed her an apple too? "I don't know what happened to you, but we had nothing to do with it, you gotta leave these people alone," She winced when she spoke, it was getting harder to get words out, her throat hurt so bad. Eve was positive he wouldn't listen to her, but she had to at least try to get him to stop destroying the building, the sounds of people screaming was making her wince. Don't let them see you sweat. Eve was trying her best to put on a brave face here, mustering all the bravado she possibly could in the face of this, but she wasn't sure she could get the fear out of her eyes. That stare really was doing a number on her nerves. It was only when she said that she hadn't been the one to alter his memory that his grip lessened around her neck, the yellow lantern letting her go. Well, letting go of her neck, at least. He had no intention of letting her leave, nor was he inclined to head out on his merry way just because she had said she had nothing to do with what had happened to him.
But he did believe her. He could feel the fear rushing through her. It filled him with a sense of pleasure, though it wasn't the right moment to really appreciate it. While he wasn't sensing it for fun, the fear did tell him that she was not lying about what she had said- the fear of not understanding and being killed for it was clear within her. He would need to find someone whose fear suggested they didn't want to be exposed if he wanted to find the person who really had something to do with his memory loss. Still, it didn't change the feeling inside of him. The pain in his head.
"Even if you didn't have anything to do with what happened to my memory," he growled, acting as though he still might not believe her. People had managed to hide their fear in the past, though not a human, "you are still connected to the mess of a lantern I had apparently once been." He frowned. It was all so confusing. Did he want to know what had happened to him? Did he want to fix it? Didn't he? Why should he, anyway? Clearly he was a very sorry excuse of himself, having so many human friends and acquaintances. It would be better to rid himself of the whole lot of supposed connections, so he could properly return to the world he had been guiding before.
Growling, he shook his head, trying to shake off a stab of pain right behind his eyes that made it feel like his skull was about to explode. Once it subsided, he glared at Eve again, though did not make another move to grab her throat. Instead, he pointed his ring at the woman, his sharp eyebrows furrowing as he frowned.
"You... everyone. Anyone. Why should I leave them alone? You're all just a bunch of chaotic humans, worthy of nothing more than quick deaths. I should rid the planet of you all and make earth another statement of my power." he sounded threatening enough, but no energy shot from his ring. Growling, he sent a spark of electricity at her instead. Painful, surely, but not enough to kill her.
Angry, he clenched his fist more tightly, until purple blood started to drip from his own nails digging into flesh. "Why," he demanded, "why is it difficult to kill you?"
He'd had the same trouble before. While his motives felt the same as ever, and he felt no love towards any of the people he supposedly knew from his past, something was still holding him back. Something locked away in the back of his mind that he couldn't access. Somehow, it still kept him from making short work of the humans he kept meeting.
Maybe if he just tortured her long enough, that feeling would subside.

Eve took a deep breath, choking a cough and rubbing her sore neck in a sad attempt to sooth the pain, at this rate her neck was never going to heal. Granted, the way that he was looking at her was made her think she wasn't going to be around much longer to complain about the pain either way. God that stare was just downright uncomfortable, she fidgeted under it, wanting nothing more then to shrink back and get away from his line of sight. The only other person that had ever managed to make her that uncomfortable under a gaze was her grandfather, and she really didn't like that feeling or the memories that accompanied it. "Don't see how I can be faulted for that," Her voice was slightly harsh, throat still burning, and she winced at forcing the words out, "If it makes you feel better, you were still a pretty big dick," He had been getting better about it though, at least until he apparently lost his goddamn mind, Eve really wanted nothing more then to punch him square in the nuts for that one, the back of her head ached, the feeling was probably just being dulled by the radiating pain in her throat. She needed a new job and some new friends while she was at it. Eve was curious though, about what had happened to him, why he was the way he was at the moment, and why the hell was he in yellow? She knew she had never liked that color. When he raised his ring the woman instinctively shrank away, trying to get out of the line of sight but finding that the wall was still as unforgiving as it had been since she was slammed into it a moment ago. Oh she was going to argue that one right up to the grave, or at least Eve had been about ready to try when she felt an all too familiar pain shooting through her body. The brunette yelped, the sound caught between shock and pain, and here she had been hoping never to feel a shock run through here again. The yelp turned into a cry, no shock, just pain. Her muscles were spasming and christ that hurt, breathing was a chore again but she forced herself to take a deep breath, throat scratchy and aching. Everything just hurt. Eve slumped against the wall, wilted badly as she tried to regain her composure, biting her lip and forcing herself to stand back up straight, "They haven't done anythin' to you, I haven't done anythin' to you," She rasped out, looking up at him with a potent mix of anger and fear, "I don't know what happened, but I do know that taking time out of your day to fuck with us isn't gonna get you very far in the quest for an answer," No one in this building knew anything useful, there wasn't any need to put on a show like this. Eve didn't want to wait for him to do something else to her though, beginning to worry that all the damn shocks she had been receiving lately was going to be detrimental to her health in the long run as it was. So she did the only thing she could think of, and tossed the first thing she could get her hands on at him, that being a lovely vase full of flowers that her secretary refreshed every morning to give the office a more welcoming look. Well, right now it was getting thrown at a pink alien's face, her secretary would have been having a heart attack at the idea. The moment she let the object fly Eve made a run for it, attempting to duck past and make a run for the emergency stairs in the back. Self preservation was screaming at her to get as far away as she could possibly manage. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/blackmiddle.png] Sinestro almost felt bad shocking her. Almost. He could feel some kind of emotion stirring within him, but it didn't manage to bubble to the surface. All it seemed to bring was further pain in his skull. As if his brain wasn't bouncing around enough- he needed to have MORE pain to deal with. She said it had nothing to do with her- that she didn't know what was going on with him, but he knew it had to have some connection to the woman in front of him. She seemed to stir up more weird feelings than he would have liked, and he just wanted some answers.
Instead, he got a vase in the face.
The Yellow Lantern had been caught up in his pain and jumbled thoughts, making it difficult for him to focus on anything else. Like the woman he had just been threatening, or her attempt to escape from him. So he hadn't managed to get a barrier up before the vase connected with his face, shattering against his magenta skin in a flurry of broken glass, water, and petals.
For a moment, he just stood there, a dumb look of surprise on his face as water dripped from his now slightly unkempt hair. The glass had left some scratches, but nothing his ring wouldn't heal within a couple of hours. Blinking, he watched Eve make a run for it, clearly trying to get to the stairs. Without any super powers, what other choice did she have. A flower slipped off his head as it turned and followed Eve's movements, his yellow eyes, now brimming with irritation, locked on her slender body. Oh, he was going to make her pay for that one, no doubt about it.
"Do you think you can do that to Sinestro and get away with it?!" He demanded bitterly, swooping over to the woman and catching hold of her by one arm. Gripping it firmly, he pointed his free hand, which happened to hold his ring, at the nearest window, blowing it out so he could leave the building and head out into the sky. But he wasn't taking her to the ground. No, they were going up. High above the rooftops, almost into the clouds. He wouldn't take her so high that she would no longer be able to breathe, but high enough that she had absolutely no chance of escaping him. He could feel her fears. Beyond the fear of him at that moment, and the general fear of being killed by some lunatic, he could sense a deep-rooted fear of heights. Somehow, it was a familiar fear.
It was better not to think about it, lest he lost his focus and sent them both plummeting to the earth once more.
Glaring down at her, he pulled up his arm, tossing her up to join him at eye level. Though normally she would have just dropped to her death, he was not ready to let her go just yet. A yellow glow surrounded her body, keeping her from falling. Of course, he hadn't brought it around her right away, if only as a reminder that her life was in his hands. The yellow lantern watched her, crossing his arms over his chest. His snakes had stopped attacking the building, and they had not done enough damage to cause it to collapse, though he suspected work would be out for a week or ten.
"They can consider themselves lucky," he informed the woman, "I do not normally spare lives for the sake of it. Now tell me who you are." He had heard her call herself Eve before, but he was expecting a little bit more than just her first name.
"Unless you would like to drop hundreds of feet."

If she hadn't been afraid for her life, Eve would have found the big and bad Sinestro with a flower on his head to be one of the more comical things she had seen lately. But she didn't have that sort of luxury at the moment, too busy dashing towards the doors because he really was a scary bastard right now and she was sure after hitting him with a vase that standing around to laugh at him would just make everything a whole lot worse. Even if it was funny that he had such pretty flowers stuck to him. "Only douche bags refer to themselves in the third person you know!" God damnit Eve, you are really just digging that grave today aren't you? The brunette couldn't help but roll her eyes at herself, annoyed with herself for her inability to think before speaking, it was one of those things that she really had to work on reigning in. If she managed to get out of this one alive. The snide comments probably weren't helping her cause but she just really couldn't help herself from letting them slip, words had always been her go to attack growing up, even more so after she was introduced to boardroom politics. "Oh come on, it was all just a ploy, I just wanted to see what you'd look like wet in that outfit," Evie squeaked when he grabbed a hold of her, trying to wrench free of his grasp to no avail, "Damnit Dr. Satan, let me go!" Oh he had so been down graded back to the old Dr. Satan nickname for this one. Wait.....what the hell was he doing? She tried her best to cling to anything that was nailed down to the building but Eve couldn't seem to get a good grip and suddenly she was feeling the cool air as she was pulled outside. Which caused her to bit her lip hard in order to stifle a shriek, maybe they would head down to the street and she'd hit him with a car and drive far far away. Nope, that wasn't happening, they were going higher up instead and Eve was holding her skirt down, knuckles turning white as her hands clung to the fabric. The woman whimpered, squeezing her eyes shut and just trying to breath. She couldn't catch her breath, and her heart was hammering loud enough against her chest she was sure his pointy ears would pick up the sound. Oh god he was going to drop her and she was going to die, deep breath, deep breath, "No!" Eve panicked worse at the mention of being dropped, cracking an eye open to look at him and immediately wishing she hadn't, seeing clouds so close caused her to turn an unflattering shade of green. "What do you want to know? My name's Eve Amherst, I'm the head of Wayne Enterprises largest company branch and I essentially stand in as CEO when my boss goes on his mystery vacations. I drink too much, I work too much, and I don't resist temptations well, especially when the temptation is attractive," She was rambling, if she didn't just plow through whatever she was saying then she wasn't going to talk at all, trying to keep from just being reduced to a whimpering mess, "I met you while walking to my car from work one night, you cut some thugs leg off, we argued semantics and you dropped me off on another part of town cause your a dick," The woman was going to have a heart attack, "Now will you please gently put me back on the ground?" Tears were welling in her eyes, and she was more then ready to puke from fear alone at that point. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/blackmiddle.png] Sinestro listened, his eyes wide as she babbled on about herself and a lot of things he really didn't care much about. Honestly, he wasn't sure why he had been so interested in her in the first place- nothing she had to say had made him feel any kind of connection to the headaches he was getting, or the memories he was supposed to have locked away some where. He frowned and watched her, furrowing his brows together as though he suspected she was hiding something from him.
Normally, he would have been enjoying the mass amount of fear he was sensing from her. He had picked the right phobia to exploit- it felt like she was going to explode from the terror racing through her body, making her heart pound relentlessly in her chest. he could hear her heightened heartbeat from where he was floating, and he could sense every ounce of fear inside of her. Such a thing would have been a great victory for him, in a normal situation. But this wasn't normal. He wasn't looking just to freak her out- he wanted answers. It wasn't until she started to speak again that he felt she was finally saying something that mattered to him.
This woman, this Eve person... she was someone important to his time on earth. As she explained, in little detail, how they had known one another, Sinestro let his expression lighten a little, his surprised and confusion replacing his anger. "You... you were one of the first people... I met here..." right! That was why she seemed important to him, wasn't it? He couldn't quite remember the things she was talking about, but somehow, something told him that she was the first human he had spoken to when he had arrived on earth. But arrived when? Why? because of the whole Green Lantern thing? Soranik... his daughter.
They had arrived together, hadn't they?
Frowning, feeling very confused and dealing with one hell of a headache, Sinestro began to sink towards the ground. Eve, too, came with him, gently floating towards the earth as she had demanded. It wasn't long before they were both touching the pavement again, while people in the streets screamed and scattered, racing away from the broken, attacked building nearby them. Everything was still in a state of chaos after what he had done.
He frowned, bringing his eyes to meet with Eve's once more. On the ground, it was once again clear that he as a good deal taller than her, the lantern looking down at her with his signature scowl.
"I didn't take you away because I wanted to be a jerk," he huffed, wavering slightly as he shook of the thudding in his skull. For a change, he fought through it, just so he could see the images the pain seemed to keep away from him. He could see it: he could see floating away with her as the cops arrived to the scene. "I just didn't want you to have to deal with the police." And he had been a little bit of a jerk, perhaps.
Maybe he would pretend he didn't remember that part.
"I am... not myself, it seems..." he looked at the female, no longer using his yellow energy to hold her hostage. He imagined she was feeling very desperate to run the hell away from him at that moment. Honestly, he didn't blame.
He had no idea what he was at that moment, or who was safe to be around him.
