Welcome
It all started when a crystal dropped into existence, punched a hole in time and space and landed into the lap of one the most insane men to ever walk the Earth.
At first, the clown didn't know what he had been gifted with, stuck in his cell in Arkham, staring at the reddish purple crystal laying innocently on the dirty stone floor.
And then the voices started, telling him of another universe, talking of power and chaos beyond what he could have ever dreamed.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Gotta_love_gits/Sinestro/random%20images/bluemiddle.png] SWAPPED FROM BIDDER TO BIDDY. TAKEN
Sinestro didn't like this. He didn't enjoy being around people. He still wasn't so sure humans were anything more than really annoying bugs who always needed help. He didn't like being around one or two of them, much less a massive horde of them. So why, then, he had decided to come to such a massive human event was absolutely beyond him. Human technology, whether they thought it was cutting edge or not, was primitive at best, and there was nothing at the so-called expo that held any interest to the Korugaran. And there were SO MANY people. Ugly, tan life forms everywhere, running around a cackling like mad hyena. He hated it. He hated them. All he wanted to do was float the hell out of there and not bother dealing with anymore of their shit.
And yet, he wasn't leaving. Actually, he was doing the exact opposite of leaving- he was participating.
Somehow, he couldn't figure out the reason exactly, he had agreed to be in the auction they were putting on. He didn't feel any particular need to help humans gain money, for any reason, but he imagined it would amuse his daughter to see him on stage. Kara liked things like this, and if she wanted him to try and get along with humans more, then maybe he could at least attempt it. And he had heard Eve was lurking somewhere within the massive crowd, though he had no idea where.
Those were good enough reasons to go along with things, though not quite strong enough for him to look like he was enjoying himself.
When he walked out on stage, he was not in a suit or prepared to make a fool of himself. Of course, he did have a tux, but he had decided he didn't need to wear it while they were auctioning off heroes. No, he didn't have a secret identity, but shouldn't they be looking at what they were supposed to be bidding on? In any case, it was always work before pleasure for the snobby alien. Very rarely did he go walking around in some kind of civilian attire.
He was in his standard Green Lantern uniform, his arms crossed bitterly over his chest as he floated his way out on stage to be bid on. The green glow around his body was faint, but present, just enough to keep him airborne without making it look like he was trying to make some kind of a show of himself. Because he wasn't. He felt no need in trying to play up to a bunch of humans he wanted nothing to do with, anyway. Really, the last thing he would ask for would be for some random human to buy him for a day.
His cold, empty yellow eyes surveyed the crowd, a scowl on his face daring someone to try bidding on him. There was no relaxation in his body- no hint of anything other than a desire to murder anyone who might try offering a bid.
Just because he said he was going to play, didn't mean he was going to play nicely.
He was going to have to murder his so-called friends when all was said and done. Right after figuring out how they had managed to get him to go along with their silly ideas in the first place. Man, he cursed being so easily convinced. Why did he care so much about making people like Kara and Eve happy? Wasn't he supposed to be the emotionless asshole who was just there to figure out what was going on between the dimensions?
This was not how he would have picked to spend a day off.

Excuse me, but I might drink a little more than I should tonight. And I might take you home with me if I could tonight. And baby, I'mma make you feel so good tonight. Cuz we might not get tomorrow. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #1f1d1d; opacity: .8; border: #550505 solid 4px; width: 470px; padding: 15 0 15 0px;]
(NOTE TO EVERYONE: If your hero has a secret identity, remember to KEEP IT SECRET. That means if your character wears a mask, he or she MUST be wearing their mask during the auction. Thanks. <3)
-TAKEN-
Perhaps for the first time ever, Tony was sober. If he had been drinking, he probably would have choked on his whiskey because what the hell did Rogers think he was doing?! Had someone shown him Risky Business again? Or taken him to Chippendale's? OR BRAINWASHED HIM?
The Cap did not strip and while Tony was completely and utterly shocked, he couldn't help but also give the man kudos because damn did that take some courage. Of course, it wasn't like Tony wouldn't have done it too, but he had to admit that his body was not nearly in as great a shape as Rogers'.
Right. He still had to do his job. "And here we have the great Captain America, folks," Tony said into his microphone. "Although he's thinking about changing his name to Magic Mike, and it might not be a bad idea for all you ladies out there. I would say more about how great he is and what all you could do with him, but I think you get the point already." Tony gestured to the man who was now in his boxers, and the crowd responded with laughter.
Looking away from the Captain after getting over his shock at how out of character a strip tease seemed, he listened to the crowd hooting and hollering below. Most voices were female though there were even a few men that seemed entranced by Rogers' show. Bids were popping up all over the place. One hundred, four hundred, one thousand. They just kept rising by leaps and bounds.
"Well, at least he's a hit," Tony said to himself as he watched the hands fly up. When a final bid of $2,500 came from Agent Thirteen herself, Tony couldn't help but grin. He'd had suspicions about the woman's feelings for Captain America. Perhaps the strip tease was too much for her.
"Going once... going twice! Sold! To the lucky blonde in the black dress!"
There was a collective grumbling among the ladies that hadn't had the cash to outbid Carter and Tony chuckled as he shooed Captain America offstage. The two could meet up whenever they wanted and discuss which day they would spend together.
As Tony went back to his podium and looked at his list for who was up next, he noticed that the crowd died down to a murmur. When he looked back up again... there was someone onstage. The only reason Tony even recognized him was because he'd helped fight against those weirdo aliens in L.A. when he'd gone with Hawkeye. The Billboard Incident, he liked to call it.
Tony's eyes drifted to where the alien's hands would be if his arms weren't so tightly-crossed. That little power ring had given Stark the idea for the energy shield device he was exhibiting elsewhere in the Expo. Tony realized that he didn't even know the guy's name.
Stark looked down and checked the list, but Natasha Romanov was up next to be auctioned, not this guy. So he wasn't even on the list, but he was getting bidded on anyway? Well, okay then. It was for charity, after all. But how the hell was Stark going to introduce him without a name?
"Next up, folks, we have a real treat for you. Direct from the... uh..." What were they called again? "The Green Lantern corp, this guy may have spent one too many vacations on the sun's surface to get that gorgeous tan." He grinned and the crowd laughed. "But you can bet he'll make your night one that you'll never forget, ladies, so prepare for lift-off," he said with a wiggle of his eyebrows, "Because this guy is out of this world. Bidding starts at twenty-five bucks!"
Okay, all cheesy alien-puns aside, Tony was a bit nervous that he didn't know who this dude was. He only hoped that the bidders wouldn't fail him because he didn't want to have to buy the guy.
That would be awkward as hell.
Grab somebody sexy tell 'em hey, Give me everything tonight. I want all of you tonight. Cuz we might not get tomorrow. |

AVAILABLE [/font][/center] The bidding for Steve was still white hot as the ladies in the audience continued to throw their money around and fight to see which of them would come out the victor. She couldn't fully see who it was that was shouting from her place backstage, but Natasha's lips curled into a smirk of amusement when she heard Agent Thirteen in the crowd. Apparently her little hunches about Sharon and Steve might have been right after all. The crowd went nuts as they applauded for the winner, the stage quickly being emptied for the next person to emerge from the curtained side of the stage. A voice reached her ears as she turned to see a boy, well, a man she supposed, though he didn't look to be too old in fact. She wasn't familiar with his face at all, but she offered him a small shake of her head. "Not at all," she told him. "Though at this rate I'm thinking that Stark will have a mutiny on his hands if he doesn't watch out."
Knowing that it wasn't just herself who felt foolish for being placed on the auction block actually made Natasha feel a little better about the situation. At least then there might be someone interesting back there to talk to until the minute she had to step out into view and the men in the crowd (though she supposed there could be women out there as well) began to throw their money around in the hopes of being able to win her for a day. As she turned back to the boy though, she recognized another face approaching. While she hadn't had the opportunity yet to work with too many members of the Justice League, Natasha knew who the Black Canary was. In terms of being able to handle herself as a woman without too many special powers on her side, she admired the fact that such women were making their appearances in both organizations. And truth be told, it looked as if the Canary might be a good match for her if ever they found themselves in a sparring session. Her smile curled a little more at the idea. "A friendly match between colleagues? I'd be there." It had been a while since the last time she had sparred with someone, normally sparring with Clint above all others.
A small chuckle sounded in her throat at the very thought of Clint going up against her Green Arrow, wondering just how competitive the two of them would get. "I think we need to arrange this as soon as the Expo is over," Natasha said, nodding her head in agreement. "I've heard quite a bit about you and Green Arrow. I'd love to see how the two of you work opposite Clint and I." And she doubted it would be an issue to get Clint interested in a competition between Robin Hood's either. Granted, she hadn't seen him in quite a while now for various reasons, but she knew that once he had a moment, he'd be all for the idea of training with the League. "How did they get you guys signed up for this?" she asked, crossing her arms over her chest as she looked between the boy and Dinah.

[nope, dont even think about it stark. The taser threat still stands.]
This had been the first real assignment the agent had in a long while it seemed, given the nature of his recent changes to his person and life style a bit of normal was welcome. Coulson couldn't say it was normal for him though, he was used to sitting in the back of rooms, events, keeping an eye out on the others, whoever was of importance of the time. The Agent however did not expect to see someone who was his idol for the longest time strip on stage. If Phil had been any less of a man then he was would have choked on the drink in his hand. His eyes didn't even change demeanor, only widened slightly. He set his drink down on the table he was sitting at in the back. Watching the whole evening take place.
He could see the excitement of the people around him. Some of them were his colleges, people he had to keep an eye out on. There were people he knew, and people he did not as he glanced around. Many he recognized from the ball, others from records and reports. Like the man now on the stage, supposedly in the justice league, supposedly a good guy. Coulson, like the others had his doubts about the heroes of this other place but he was willing to give them a chance. They needed all the help they could get if Loki amassed more power then before. An for all intensive purposes, they assumed so in the report following the aftermath of the attacks that seemed to be coordinated on a global scale. The Demi God retrieved his scepter with relative ease, then seemed to drop off the radar almost entirely.
He didn't like this one bit, but his own improvements would make sure that what happened the last time he encountered the god would not happen again. In fact Agent Coulson wished he wouldn't have to ever reveal what had been changed, but he knew it was a high possibility. One that he would have to explain to his daughter, a estranged relationship as it was. They would have to explain to stark and the others why they were not informed of this. He could only hope it would go as smoothly as Stark'S expo was.

AVAILABLE "It's for charity Clark, just keep telling yourself it's for charity. Yeah this isn't the first time you've been sold off for charity." he kept pacing back and forth outside the backstage area while the Stark Expo was going underway. He volunteered for this and wondered if Lois was gonna be out there snapping his photo, or any other Leaguers up on stage with him. He finally gathered his nerves and went backstage where the other auctionees were waiting to walk down the stage. He recognized Dinah and that was it, everyone else were just faces he had seen here and there but never had the proper chance to meet. He felt like he was back in high school again, beautiful women everywhere and him feeling as shy as a cat to water. So he just tucked himself away into a corner for the time being and watched as everyone else mingled amongst themselves. He turned his attention to the stage to make sure he didn't miss getting called up and to keep a better eye on the events outside in case he needed to step up and save the day. After a few minutes however of having this guy standing in the corner (with a calmer expression mind you), someone approached him and asked why he was hiding away in the corner like that. So Clark decided to mosey his way over to Dinah, the other lovely ladies, and the young man with them. "Good evening ladies and gentleman, Canary you're looking lovely this evening, all of you are in fact, I might have to consider bidding now." It was almost obvious to the more well trained sort, like women, to know that his comment was more him being nice and nervous at the same time then flirty like Stark might be. "So Canary will there be any other League members joining us here?"

It would be a straight up lie to say that Wally wasn’t nervous about the hero auction. In fact, he was a nervous wreck on the inside right about now. Not that he wouldn’t be bid on or anything. To be honest he was quiet loved by Central City and Keystone City. He was often in the spotlight. Wasn’t afraid of coming out on the cameras and taking to the press. He was sure he’d be bid on. That wasn’t what he was nervous about. He still hadn’t told anyone about what had happened to him while he was in that other universe. He was the only one who lived after what happened there. Going to this place would be like hanging around ghosts. People he himself had seen died he’d be standing next to. Of course, they would be this universes counterparts. Not to mention he hadn't been on a date since his wife from the other world died. The person who bought him might want a date. It wouldn't be too far off. He had plenty of fan girls and he knew it. This was a huge step for him. Of course, he was going to try and act like he always had.
Wally sped in making an entrance. All they would see at first would be a blur of crimson red and bright yellow. He suddenly stopped next to Superman as he finished speaking. “Hey, everyone. Sorry I’m late,” Wally said casually after swallowing a bite of his food as if he was a minute or two late. He was carrying what might have been enough pizza pies to feed all the heroes at the auction in one hand. Which he promptly ate in a matter of fifteen seconds. “Had to beat up Mirror Master and Captain Cold. Then I thought ‘Hey I’m in Manhattan already, might as well get some of Ray’s famous pizza.’ That took forty five minutes.” He doubted anyone who knew him would be surprised by his lateness. It was strange. Even with super speed Wally still maintained his habit of being late despite having all the time in the world all the time. He licked his fingers for a moment and then looked up looking around as if just noticing something. “Heeeey . . . where’s Bats?” He turned towards Superman and his right eye which appeared white behind his mask arched up. “He’s not weaseling his way out of the hero auction is he?”
Wally shrugged before he disappeared to dispose of the insane amount of pizza boxes and was back in the blink of an eye. His eyes moved over the others there. Mia and Chris. Two of his fellow Titans. Or well, he guessed he was the only Titan, they were Teen Titans if one wished to be specific but they were going to all be working together as a team soon enough. Hopefully. His eyes moved to Dinah. He couldn’t remember the last time he had seen her, but she had definitely gotten . . . younger since then. He wasn’t taken off guard by this though. Become acquainted with the lifestyle of a superhero and pretty much nothing can really surprise you. Though there were the rare occasions when he was surprised. Usually it was only when he occasionally came across incredibly unpredictable people. Like the Joker or George R.R. Martin.

She was here. Miss Charity was somewhere in the crowd, Adrienna hadn't paid attention to where she'd left her foster mom when she'd run off. All she'd been able to see was the biiiiiiig sign that said "Hero Auction". Yes, she could read. She was that smart.
She even had money! As Adrienna sat down at one of the big tables below the stage, she swung her legs through the blades of grass beneath her chair and opened her glittery, pink wallet. Thirty seven dollars and fifty-eight cents. That sure was a lot of money. She'd saved up her allowance for weeks, looking forward to the Stark Expo. Once she'd learned there was a hero auction, she'd been even more determined.
How cool would it be to buy her very own hero for a day! Miss Charity would love that! Maybe the hero would even help clean the gutters like Miss Charity was always talking about doing. Then she'd have to let Adrienna keep him, right?

And even more important then her self image issues was the fact that she was representing her company for a whole new potential world of customers and partners. Sure worlds merging together had disrupted a lot of things, sent things spinning into a proverbial shit storm, but she'd be damned if it hadn't offered up some great business opportunities with a fresh, untapped market. But she looked goddamn amazing in the dress that she had finally settled on wearing, hair done and make up professional for the evening. In fact, she looked so good that she couldn't help but stop and admire herself in a reflective surface while Stark talked, barely paying any mind, too busy making sure that not a hair was out of place. Evie had to wonder though, if the man had taken her warning to heart, the brunette had tried to dissuade him from meddling in Gotham, she was a city that didn't appreciate outsiders after all. Well, the woman couldn't say that she didn't try, and what he did from there was all him. It would be a shame if the handsome devil ended up face down in the Gotham sewers, but she was nice enough to give a warning. Speaking of devils, she was sure Dom was here tonight, but her search for the other woman was cut short by Captain America himself giving everyone a show. Suffice to say Eve would never have thought the man had it in him, and while she was tempted to bid on the man, it looked like the blonde to her left was determined to win him, and she had to applaud the determination when she did. Good for her. Grabbing a drink from a waiter as he passed, Eve had herself a sip and nearly choked when her favorite alien floated out on stage. That was unexpected. She was attempting to keep from coughing, laughing, and choking all in one go, he just looked so goddamn pissed off. It was almost magical, and Eve had a passing wonder, if anyone would be able to get him to strip. Ha! He'd probably toss them into the sun for mention it, but oh, oh he was not going to live this down any time soon. No one was really bidding, probably too afraid of that million dollar glare, so Eve decided to do everyone a favor, "Hundred bucks, right here!" There, sounded better then just twenty five dollars after all, and just about everyone was looking at her like she had lost her goddamn mind. The woman just grinned and sipped her drink in answer to the looks. [style=padding: 0px 15px; font-size: smaller;] Words: 490 Music: Nothing! Outfit: Clicky!Notes: Never living it down! [/style] |

[atrb=border,0,true] [style=; text-align:center; font-family:maximo; font-size:30px; color:white; margin-bottom:5px]Taken ! Natasha's reply made Chris smile. That was kind of unexpected; Chris had expected a bit more of a less humorous welcome. It was a nice fact. It put the admittedly very nervous kid more at ease. "True, true." He rubbed the back of his head and chuckled. "I don't mind this all too much, but there are those that would complain."
Black Canary was the next hero to join the little group of three. She was an easily recognizable face from the Gotham papers- and only heaven knew how much time Darkhawk had spent there lately. "Good to meet you too," Chris answered with a murmur and a dip of his head, and respectfully paid attention to the ensuing conversation about a meetup and friendly competition of heroes- Black Widow to Black Canary, and Hawkeye to Green Arrow. Now that was bound to be one of the most epic showdowns of all time. It piqued the kid's curiosity, and he made a mental note to see if he couldn't find out when and where they were planning to do it later. He wasn't sure exactly who to expect to come out on top at the moment, after all, he didn't really know much about the heroes. "How did they get you guys signed up for this?" "Well, it's a long story. Explosions and Fighting and all that kind of stuff." Actually, he didn't have a story. He had just shown up one day as Darkhawk to Stark Tower, and Iron Man had met him there, and liked his costume. Chris turned his attention away from the party as Cap strolled off the stage, sold. He was about to go himself onto the stage when a guy with green skin floated on. He must be a new face, because Tony had to scramble for the proper words to introduce him. Then- Melissa? Meridith? Mileena? It was some M-name, he knew- appeared on the scene. She struck up something with Canary almost immediately, but Chris could sense her look at him out of the corner of her eye. "I've seen you before..." He just managed to catch her quip. He bit his lip and desperately tried to remember where he had met her as well. He knew her name started with M, and that she was an archer, but beyond that he was drawing a blank. He had met so many people over the last few months that he couldn't easily keep them straight in his head.
Just then, a strong voice broke in from behind. Chris spun around- and came face to face with a familiar red caped icon. "Superman!" he gasped, and had to fight an urge to faint. "Er- Nice to meet you. Sir." Pulling himself up to full height, he smiled lopsidedly and compared heights to the Man of Steel. Chris was exceptionally tall and skinny, but Superman was massive. Wally West, Flash, was the next one to speed up. With his arrival, Chris finally remembered where he had met Mia: at the Teen Titans meeting. How had he forgotten?
Stepping sideways from the group, he called from backstage: "Two hundred!" He was going to bid, even if he didn't get a hero. "Chris will speak like this." "Natasha." "Mia." "Others."TAGS: Everyone! WORDS: 535 NOTES: Blue Jazz Choir Vest Table layout by BRY, 2012[/style] |

[; overflow: auto; font-size: 9px; text-align: justify;]Kara watched as Sinestro came on stage. She gave him a big round of applause; after all he was her top hero. Kara would bid for him but she already had him as a adopted father figure, he taught her a lot. Then Kara’s attention turned to miss. Eve. The pretty lady that Kara often found was quite entertaining to be around. Kara herd Clark back stage with Wally and the other girls, along with Chris. She began thinking of who she would bid for, She was sure she would bid for Clark after all the two did need to spend more time together. Soon Kara’s eyes looked back at Sinestro, she was sure he was going to go for a lot of money. He was after all to her he was one of the best out there, always putting others before him and taking her in when she was wondering around alone. Kara smiled at the memories that filled her mind. They were all so great, even the bad memories were great. Kara’s eyes looked at eve, she had finally become visible to Kara and now she was making her way over to eve just to stand with her. After all she was a bit lonely. No one she knew was their but Sinestro and Eve, and Sin was not in the place to talk or hang around and eve was open for the following. “Eve you got to win dad. The more heroes started showing up the more on alert she became. Suddenly, she didn't care so much about the auction or the heroes... It was the villains. Characters like Viper or even Loki could get in here. It would be foolish but the amount of casualties they could have because of it? Her eyes found agents in the crowd, plain clothes and uniformed. Here to keep the peace of two merged worlds at this beyond huge event. If Jess knew anything about villainy (and she knew a lot having been a member of HYDRA for most of her life) they'd strike tonight, quietly, calculating the variables.
"I don't like it." Jessica said quietly, her British accent cutting through all of the various American ones, looking to Natasha and Dinah. "Doesn't it seem too peaceful? You'd imagine by now we'd have to have someone removed or had seen some ill-conceived attempt at destruction." Miss Drew was certainly not a 'glass half full' kind of girl. Based on her life, how could you be? She was always waiting, watching anxiously for Viper or some member of HYDRA to come back and try to get her back, maybe kill her. It also felt strange because she was one of the few that was completely uniformed up. Sure she had a secret identity to keep covered but... she was still so unsure of herself, even after being out from under that dark shadow for so long. It was rough for her, figuring out make up and hair and dresses now. For so long it was decided for her by her 'mother'.
She tried to relax, tried to enjoy the event, but she just couldn't. Her body would not let her stop thinking. Her mind moved quickly as she looked at the super allies back here and thought about all the exit strategies to get the civilians out of here. Superman was strong, or so she had heard, Canary too. They had a good group of diverse heroes back here, should things go awry and she really hoped they didn't... but if they did... She wanted to be ready. There had already been enough blood of casualties on her hands and she'd do anything she could to stop there from being more

Mia stood by canary as she watched around to see another person take the place, she had her mask on that covered around her eyes, as she looked at Chris. She was sure she had seen him before but not sure on where. it was hard to put her lips on it before she smiled more when she recognized Superman. So, the supers were here, but yet Arrow was not? It was different, she hoped that Arrow would show a bit in her mind but also that he wouldn't so that she could have some fun. Mia took another sip from her glass before smiling towards Superman.
" Hello. Its nice to finally meet you Superman" she said softly before turning to the stage for a few minutes a bit curious before she turned to see Wally West, Flash boy. Mia smiled as she knew exactly where she knew him from, the Titans. She then looked ta Chris a blinked a few times before a smile played on her face, she pointed a finger at Chris and smiled more " Darkhawk right?"
She asked she still couldn't figure out where she had meet him before but remembered he was Dark hawk at least that was a start. She then watched him bid on the man on stage, but now Mia had an idea on who she wanted to bid on, Dark hawk. She would make sure she'd win that bid as well.
Mia then rubbed her dress as she fixed it with one hand before placing the glass on a man tray who was taking them away. She had grown tired of the taste of what was in the glass. Everything was loud, Mia was content with that but more so she wanted to hear more on this other archer that should take on Ollie. She was curious on if Ollive would win or this other guy and who knew more on archery. Maybe they knew the same?

Stevewas very happy that Sharon was able to buy him, knowing very well of her attendance. She was one of the main reasons as to why he was regretting the strip tease. His goods under his shirt was her's and her's only. Steve would've been happy of young Kara, would've bought him, but Sharon refused to let it happen. She was committed in getting her man, no matter the costs. He didn't know whether to smile at her or give her a look of guilt. After the Cap was shooed off stage by Stark, he stepped behind the curtains looking down at the floor. He didn't want to lose Sharon because of this, but if she was hurt to that extent, then he would've let her go. Steve loved Sharon with all his heart, but he needed to tell her that. He knew when they were to spend time together, that he would've expressed his true feelings. He only hoped that this grasp for charity, didn't affect their relationship. Cap would've definitely found out a piece of her mind, whenever she was to come backstage.
Steve looked up to find more people present, making him reveal a small grin. He looked down at his body and realized he was still partially naked making him blush. Steve walked over to the dressing rooms, but noticed that they were full. He was stuck in his camouflaged boxers, until there was an opening. Cap turned around as he heard two familiar voices from nearby. "I don't like it... Doesn't it seem too peaceful? You'd imagine by now we'd have to have someone removed or had seen some ill-conceived attempt at destruction." Her English accent was definitely one that was familiar, Spider Woman. She was one of the new Avengers, that proved to be very worthy, especially after the incident at Stark's Tower. Steve caught her words, and began thinking the same thing. "Miss Romanov, Miss Drew" he spoke as he saluted them, only knowing the pair. "I couldn't help, but overhear... Do you think something bad is to happen?" he asked through serious words. Steve wouldn't have been able to defend himself within a tuxedo, but thankfully his suit and shield were nearby in a safe place, just in case.
Steve looked over and noticed a familiar face he'd seen on his visit to Metropolis. He'd never met the Superman in person, but only managed to see him within the newspapers. He was a god in Metropolis, being their toughest leader and hero of the city. Steve wanted to go over and shake his hand, but right now there were pressing matters at hand.

they council me, they understand
He'd been sooo tempted tonight. Oh, Hobgoblin wanted to come out and play. Look at all these shiny toys to enjoy and all the people gathered that he could terrorize! There were just too many opportunities that he had to let pass by. Like bombing the stage right now.
That nincompoop on stage dropping his pants? Psh. Captain America was nothing more than another idiot in desperate need of attention. What a symbol for America. The kind of hero the country deserved, the one that was supposed to stand for everything righteous and upstanding had reduced himself to nothing more than a slab of meat humiliating himself. He didn't deserve that title. America should be ashamed.
Ha.
....Phil was not going to comment on the fact that he was attracted to Rogers. Nope. None of that. Instead, he focused his attention on the new novelty of the stage, some red-faced weirdo alien with a Hitler 'stache. Or was it a Stalin 'stache? Either way, the dictator in spandex looked none too happy to be up there with Mr. Lights, Camera, Action himself. Seriously, Tony Stark was really only a straighter, more annoying version of Liberace. In Phil's opinion, he'd take the purple-jumpsuited flamboyant sparkle-butted performer over Stark. At least Liberace could sing. And from the dirt he'd dug up on the "playboy philanthropist", Stark would make a better yodeler if ever a lyrical note were to escape his lips.
Not any of these imbeciles were the reason Phil was here tonight, though. And they were lucky that he'd managed to convince Hobgoblin to keep it cool tonight. The other voice in his head didn't want him to play nice. It was weakness, just another way for society to keep him down. He was better than them. Stronger, more powerful. Why wouldn't he show it? If he weren't so focused, his bravery- or stupidity- would have won out. What did a festival full of heroes present to Hobgoblin? A challenge, and that was it.
The boy needed a healthy dose of fear. Hmm... perhaps he'd talk to Scarecrow about that.
As he made his way to the auction, flashing his ticket to the outside security when his "poor, civilian clothes" got him stopped, he glanced around for who he was meeting here. Phil Urich never did anything without a plan and boy had he been planning. His contact and partner-in-crime was here by now, he was sure of it. Dominique Falcone had appearances to keep up, after all.
It disgusted him, really. To have to suck up to her. She lorded over him in every way- financially, socially, in terms of power. She didn't realize that he was Hobgoblin; No one knew that information. So, of course she was better than Phil Urich. It sickened him. The whole hero auction sickened him. People dressed in their finest formal attire, diamonds dripping from their necks and arms. They thought that they were so much better than the slugs out working during this time while they sat and sipped on champagne? He would show them all exactly what those slugs were capable of.
Phil did not care about the attention he was garnering due to his jeans, plaid shirt, and jacket. He welcomed it. Let them all see the very average person who would eventually end their lives and their greedy lifestyles.
We could do it. We could do it now.... the voice taunted in his head. We don't need the costume to use the laugh.... It brought a small flicker of a smile to Phil's face as he finally spotted the woman he'd come to the auction to plot with. It was tempting. So tempting.
"Dominique Falcone," Phil greeted as he strolled up to her, offering to take her hand to kiss it. Ever the flawless actor, he smiled warmly up at her. "It's wonderful to see you. And might I add that you look ravishing tonight." Well, it was the truth; and despite his dislike for who she was or how she operated, he could appreciate an attractive woman when he saw one.

It had always been a simple task of locating a human. Rather locating any being was easy for him. Loki recalled that something of purpose was going on tonight. Granted it held little advancement to his, but to Dom it was a different story.
She held the need to speak with Tony Stark, and intended tonight to be the occasion. However Loki was not prepared for it to be an event such as this. The trickster thought it would be something similar to the ball several months ago. Its was a completely different event entirely. Thankfully he did not have to witness the show Captain put on.
This was going to be an interesting night to say the least. The distraction from the past few nights was welcoming. The Other had kept true to his word that the enslaved God would not rest until his duty was complete, Loki had not. Even when he tried his sleep was restless. Filled with nightmares.
It had only succeeded in pulling his nerves thin, leaving him overly stressed and on edge. Loki assumed that after his display at the Ball, the avengers, shield would do well to leave him be. He was not constantly on prowl to cause trouble. Nor was he one to kill, he only did when it suited his needs. Loki knew however his height drew attention to himself.
The Demi-god was clad in a suit, no gleaming golden horns, no armor, hardly any green at all. Save for his eyes. It had not taken him long to find the woman in question. However, he had expected Dom to be alone. Loki nodded politely to the waiter walking buy with a tray of flutes as he grabbed one. He walked rather calmly towards the pair, knowing not who this wretch was.
He merely loomed behind Phil most menacingly for a moment before he cleared his throat.
