And if you had any hair I'd take that too!"
Hair: Bountiful blonde hair that reaches just above the small of her back. Thick and wavy, the front ends normally kept back by subtle braiding, or left loose and carefree to the winds.
Eyes: Dark, deep blue eyes, nearly purple in shade. Round and pale, long lashes rimming, thicker around the edge of the eye and thinning inward.
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 245 lbs.
Distinguishing Marks: Faint freckling across the bridge of her nose and cheeks.
Appearance:
Sigyn has a deceptively youthful appearance for a being of her age. She is slight of body and pale of skin, normally dressed in warm, earthy tones or whites. Preferring loose, flowing clothing to any sort of leather or armor, this child of Vanaheim can normally be seen smiling or with an expression of lost thought. She seems to wear her emotions on her sleeve, her face always expressing exactly what she feels at the moment. Her face is heart shaped, framed by curtains and curtains of thick blonde hair, eyes too big and limbs too thin.

Personality:
Sigyn, by nature, is a rather subdued personality. She is not normally one to speak unbidden. This does not mean she is withdrawn, mostly shy, and someone that prefers to listen over speaking. She is thoughtful, to a point where she can get lost in her own mind, or book, or activity. While Sigyn is by no means weak in spirit, she is on the quieter side, preferring solitude to company. Sigyn is a versed, intelligent individual with quite a few opinions on whatever topic that one is interested in questioning her about. Contrary to her quiet nature, people that know her personally would be able to tell you what a free spirited individual she can be. The type of soul that exudes joy, patience and love. And patience is definitely a quality a certain other God likes to take advantage of.
Sigyn is one of the Vanir, brought over to Asgard with several other women when they were conquered by the Aesir long ago. As a child of Vanaheim, and the nature gods, Sigyn is more in tune with her magical and spiritual abilities than physical abilities. Her magics tend to fall more toward nature: healing and concoctions, defensive abilities. Her powers are meant to protect rather than to destroy, and she is extremely protective of what she holds dear.
Sigyn is fiercely loyal to people close to her, as well as protective. She will not lie to them, and refuses to fail them if they request of her help. She is not the sort of woman to say no to a person in need of her help. She holds her family and friends in regards higher than her own, and if the situation calls for it, will willingly lay down her life if it means protecting the ones she loves. As the Goddess of fidelity and constancy, it is in her nature after all. She is an affectionate, warm and kindly woman; she is polite and welcoming to a new face, and the sort to introduce herself with a hug rather than a handshake. She loves children especially, and enjoys watching them or playing with them.
A strong sense of family was imbued in her through her parents, Iwaldi and Freya. Though her mother wasn't around too much, and she rather stood out next to her father with him being a dwarf, they made the time to be with her and raise her properly, raise her with a strong sense of morality and empathy for others. It wasn't too difficult; she seemed to just behave that way naturally.

Powers:
Sigyn has similar abilities to the rest of those in the realm of Asgard. She has a strength that, to humans, is superhuman, though to the average Asgardian she is physically average. Immortality is another common trait amongst them, as well as resistance to injury and immunity to common Earth sicknesses.
In her own right, Sigyn is a fairly powerful sorceress, though specializing almost solely in defensive spells and healing magic. Obviously she pales in comparison to others such as Loki or Amora, but is is well learned and quite skilled with her hands. Several common spells she tends to use include shield spells, capable of creating a defensive barrier around herself and others, as well as capturing enemy combatants. Trained as a healer, she's is proficient in magics involving the body, or sickness; not just magic, but what herbs and plants can be used for medicine, or counteracting poisons and the like. There is also the usual magic powers, such as projection, glamour, and and teleportation.
Her title of 'Incantation Fetter' is well earned; one of her innate abilities includes the suppression of other spells and magics, even going so far as to suppressing magic within a person for an allotted period of time, or nullifying magic within an area.
Weapons N/A
Strengths/Abilities:
- Suppressing magic of any sort
- Shield spells
- Healing
Weaknesses:
Even a sorceress has her limits; she cannot hold a shield for more than half an hour. Depending on the spell, she can also quickly become weak and drained of energy. She cannot regenerate a lost limb, or bring someone back to life, as healing also has it's limits. By Asgardian standards, she is rather under average as far as physical strength goes, and compared to Loki or Amora, she is at best an above average magic user.

History:
Sigyn was born of a coupling between Iwaldi the craftsman dwarf of Nidavellir, and the Goddess Freya of Beauty and Fertility. She, like the other siblings of hers that were fathered by Iwaldi, displayed no dwarf characteristics at all, despite their heritage. She was raised alongside her sisters for most of her childhood in the land of Vanaheim, up until the war with Asgard ended with herself, her sisters and her mother, as well as several other Vanir women, being traded for peace to live out their immortal lives under the rule of the Aesir; at the time, she was still only a child, a physical equivalent of an eleven year old.
Their lives were not terrible living in Asgard; they were not treated as second class citizens. Several of her sisters even came to become servants of Frigga, the all-Mother. Sigyn though, as she reached puberty, began to exhibit quite extensive magical powers, and was to be trained in sorcery and other magics from then on. As she grew, older and from a pretty young girl into a lovely young woman, she chose to concentrate her abilities into becoming one of the many healers of the Realm. She would be taught under the Elder Healer after displaying extreme proficiency in the area.
It wasn't long after that, Sigyn had become better known amongst her peers; they had not truly noticed her before. She was a quiet little girl, nothing special from the others. Though now, although not as beautiful as some such as the Lady Sif or even the Enchantress, she was a beauty in her own right, with long bountiful blonde locks and lovely, nearly purple, blue eyes. She would have been a catch for any man of the realm, and she managed to catch the eye of a few suitors, including the head of Odin's own Crimson Hawks - Theoric. He did not waste time to introduce himself to her, and it wasn't long after that he began to court her. If anything, Sigyn would say that Theoric made her feel safe; that he was a good man. That he would make a good husband for her, and give her a stable life with many strong children to follow. She cared for him, certainly, but in a way he was too safe. Her mother was very insistent, of course, on this union, and eagerly awaited her youngest's eventual marriage. He made her family happy, and she was happy ... enough. She was contented.
Then the scandal happened. All of Asgard was in mourning of the loss of their prince. She remembered Loki ... from a distance. He was not the sort of person one could just easily approach. She admired his skills in all things magical, that was for certain. He was the best there was; at the time, she thought he would have been a perfect mentor.
There were whispers not long after, scornful of the prince and his true heritage, when he then returned a prisoner after near attempting genocide a second time upon the Midgardians. It was little time after that Theoric proposed to her.

Writing Sample:
Nice days like this, although not as bountiful as they were back home, were plenty and very enjoyable. When she wasn't working, Sigyn just liked to be able to wander the large park, take in the sights, the people ... especially the people. They were fascinating when they didn't realize that they were being watched. Very casual creatures; she would see women jogging with their music devices attached to their ears, young people hanging about in groups, laughing amongst themselves over whatever jokes they were telling. She saw businessmen cutting through to get to their place of work, suits and briefcases and all, their free hand taken up by a cup of coffee. Old women seated on the benches, feeding the birds, and the occasional police man on a horse.
Seated on a rather large rock formation, her slip on shoes seated to the side of her as she watched all of it. Her hair was down, the sun shining against the golden curls and waves, setting them alight with tints of strawberry red, blue eyes half lidded in relaxation. Her Earth green skirts curled around her thin, pale ankles; a very loose, long sleeved brown top completed the look, pulled up about her elbows as she laced her fingers in each other, knees pulled up to her chest. Sigyn took in a deep breath of the air; it was not fresh, not in the middle of the city. She could smell car exhaust, food wafting down from elsewhere, and other smells that were either pleasant or not. She had grown used to the atmosphere, and her plush pink lips curled into a small smile, her fingers unconsciously twisting the small gold band around her finger.
She found herself glancing down at it, her smile fading ever so slightly, and the barest of sighs escaping her.
