Full Name: Katherine Annabelle Greer
Code Name: N/A
Age: Thirty-one
Date of Birth: October 13th
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

And if you had any hair I'd take that too!"
Hair: Dark brown, wavy and shoulder length
Eyes: Bright blue-grey
Height: Five feet nine inches
Weight: One hundred twenty-three pounds
Distinguishing Marks: There are a couple of marks on Kate's body that are rather distinguishing, but she does her best to keep them covered at all times so that people don't ask questions. The first is a music clef heart tattoo that sits on her right hip, something she got just after her college graduation because of her love for music, the art she was pursuing. The other is a rather nasty scar on the left side of her ribcage, which is a nasty little thing that reminds her of the past relationship she had been in. He was prone to fallen into drunken rages, and one night came at her with a broken beer bottle and managed to snag a rather large piece of her skin as she was coming out of the bathroom to prepare for bed. Otherwise, people tend to notice her eyes first because they are rather bright in comparison to the remainder of her features.
Appearance: Back during her college days, many people regarded Katherine as being a rather pretty girl, always ready to share a bright smile and an encouraging word to those who needed to hear a friendly voice. After the years rolled on however, and she tried her luck in Hollywood, her appearance aged with the rest of her body. She doesn't really look to be thirty-one years old by most accounts, but the sharpness of her features has certainly decreased over the last little while, and the uniform she wears doesn't do much to help. More often than not, one can see her back in Metropolis where she grew up, acting as a waitress in the family diner that she been her first job as a teenager. And when out of uniform, she looks just as everyone else, wearing jeans, t-shirts and other clothes that are comfortable for her to move around in while she runs her errands.

Personality:
TALENTED[/i]
Many of the people who knew Katherine growing up, or even her family, became familiar with the sound of the girl's voice filling the family diner because she sang as she worked in the back. It seemed only natural then, that when she grew up and had to choose what she wanted to do with the rest of her life, the girl went to Metropolis University to pursue a career in singing, enrolling in their vocal program. People often made a big deal about the fact that getting into the program was difficult, and it was a great sense of accomplishment when she did eventually graduate with such a fantastic reputation. And while she wasn't able to make anything happen for her in Hollywood, she hasn't given up on the idea of singing, and continues to sing as she works in the kitchens back at the family diner.
PATIENT[/i]
Working with people and serving others isn't something that everyone can do, and Katherine takes great pride in the fact that she provides good customer service to those who walk through the door. She knows that she must be patient when dealing with people who can't make up their minds with the menu as easily, and that when she heads out into the world to do her own shopping and eating, those people deserve the same courtesty that she tries to earn from her customers. As such, she tends to get along well with people, always ready to offer them a soft smile or some words of encouragement if they look like they need something positive from a stranger.
WORRIED[/i]
From the time that she was fourteen, Kate learned that there was something a little different about her than there was with most people. After running to the aid of a friend who had fallen from her bicycle as they made their way home from school one day, she discovered that she had the ability to heal other people. It took a little bit of time for her to understand the full extent of her powers and their limitations, and while her friend had promised not to say anything about it, she became rather concerned for her state of being. Mutants were not overly welcome in society, often seen as being monsters who could hurt "normal" people at will, and she was terrified of what people might do or say if they were to learn about her gift, even though it was one that could help and not hurt. Because of this, she does her best to keep the secret to herself and not use her powers if at all necessary...though some people think she is a natural born nurse because the kitchen injuries that she tends too are quick to heal and ease.
STUBBORN[/i]
As things rarely fall into your lap in life, Kate has known from a fairly young age that she would need to work hard in order to achieve her goals. Neither of her parents had made it to college or university when they were younger, and so she was determined that she would be the first Greer to do so. It took a lot of energy, time and money, but she managed to get herself there and trained to do something that she loved. It looked like everything was going to work out, but unfortunately, Hollywood did not cooperate with her plans. She was forced to return home and pick up her old job in the diner again, but Kate hasn't given up on one day doing something with her education. Maybe it wasn't as practical as her parents would have liked, but since singing is something she loves to do, she plans on finding a way to make it all work out.
"With great power comes great responsibility"
Powers: Katherine possesses the power to heal, but her power comes with a number of limitations. Her ability does not affect her own person, meaning that she cannot heal any of the cuts, bruises or burns that she might acquire from her job or her lifestyle. She can however, heal other people at the expense of the energy level she currently has. If she is in good condition, healthy and fit, she can heal some more major wounds and feel only a little tired afterward. However, if she is sick, hurt herself or in anyway not in her physical prime, she may not be able to heal very much at all, or poses a risk to her own health by sucking her energy reserves dry, which could potentially make her very sick, or even kill her.
Weapons N/A
Strengths/Abilities: Her compassion for other people, Kickboxing, Good flexibility, Makes some mean meals.
Weaknesses: Bullets, Knives, That damn fryer in the kitchen, Remembering her past relationship with Clark Kent.

History:
Born on October 13th to a young couple in the city of Metropolis, Katherine had been a child that wasn't entirely planned by her parents. Neither of them had yet gone to University, and it now seemed an impossible dream with a baby to support, as neither of them could fathom giving the child up to someone else so that they could continue on with their lives. They opened a small dinner in the heart of the city, a source of income being provided by the use of old family recipes and service with a smile, which seemed to go quite a long way with the people who frequently walked through their door. As the years rolled by and the business became even more successful, they brought young Kate into the diner to help with little things and to keep an eye on her before she was old enough to start school. It was there, in the diner itself, that the little girl discovered a passion for singing, and often entertained customers by singing for them as she collected plates and cups to wipe down the tables.
Around the time that she was fourteen and just getting into high school, something happened that would forever change Katherine from being a carefree girl. She was riding her bike home from school one day with a friend when her friend fell off, scrapping her knees and hands on the pavement below. Katherine hurried to her side and began to look at the wounds, only to watch them heal before her eyes as she touched them. Not understanding what had happened, she and her friend looked at each other with rather large eyes and tried to make sense of what they had just seen. Her friend went home that night swearing that she wouldn't tell anyone...and she never did, but Katherine was forever scared from that moment on. It took a little experimenting with her friend for her to realize the full extent of her ability, healing others, but the pair kept it between them, telling only Katherine's parents, who were quick to tell their daughter that she must keep her power a secret. If the wrong person should find out, no matter what her ability was, there was sure to be trouble for her.
As the end of her high school years approached, Katherine realized that she would soon need to make a decision about her future. She knew that she wanted to go to University, to do something her parents hadn't been able to do so that she could hopefully provide for them in their later years. But while she was working on getting everything sorted out, she began to doubt herself in what she had chosen. And so, abandoning the idea of becoming a lawyer, Kate instead chose to apply for the voice program offered at Metropolis University. People were initially rather shocked to hear that their little Kate had decided on such an uncertain path, but she was determined that she would prove herself to be good enough to get into the University, as well as launch a career of some kind that would benefit her family in the end.
Well, she got in.
Knowing that she would be spending the next two years in University, she applied for every single scholarship and bursary that she could find and counted the pennies she had saved from her childhood. And it was at MetU that she met the one man who would forever change her life in a way that she didn't really understand until much later...Clark Kent. With his larger frame and broad shoulders, Katherine naturally assumed that he was there on a football scholarship and would one day want to be a professional. And it wasn't until she took the time to get to know him better, realizing that the poor boy was often alone in a sea of people, that she came to realize just how wrong her previous assumption about him had been. Clark wasn't even there for football, but for journalism. The two began a rather strong friendship, which quickly blossomed into mutual affection as she saw just how much more there was to him besides his natural charm and his good looks. By the middle of her first year, the pair had decided to give dating a try, meeting each other's respective family around Christmas time. For a year and a half, things were going well. People marvelled at how she had landed someone like Clark, who was established almost from day one as being a campus cutie, while maintaining their busy schedules. Sometimes they were so swamped with assignments and essays that Clark would have to cancel their plans at the last minute, or sometimes forgot to show up for their dates at all. Though it hurt the first few times it happened, Kate quickly learned that it wasn't really his fault, nor was he doing so to make her unhappy. He just lost track of time or fell asleep because he was so exhausted, like any dedicated student. And she understood that, which became another strong foundation for their relationship as time wore on.
But all good things must come to an end, and as graduation date approached, Katherine knew she had a serious decision to make. Her career was bound to take her to the west coast, to Hollywood or who knew where else. But Clark seemed fairly determined to become a reporter, which meant that he could end up travelling or living on the opposite side of the world all together. To spare them both the struggles and heartache of maintaining a long distance relationship, she sat down with him and discussed the issue, with the two of them deciding that it would be easiest for the both of them if they were no longer together, though they still cared deeply for one another. It broke her heart to do it, and caused her many nights of tears on her pillow, but she accepted that it was only fair to him that he wasn't tied down by an invisible girlfriend...
Hollywood, however, did not agree with her plans. No agent seemed interested in her, no casting director paid her any mind. And when she found someone who she thought might be able to help her get somewhere, she quickly found out that he was the exact opposite. Their relationship started out fine, but in the end he was an abusive alcoholic who took great pleasure in beating her down with his words and his fists. The final straw for Kate came one night when she was getting ready for bed and he came at her with a broken beer bottle, cutting her on her left side and leaving a scar that would forever serve as a reminder of how awful he had been. And since her abilities did not work on herself, she was forced to bear the mark without a word to others, covering it up at all times. She left him that night, never to return again. And after a few more years of getting nothing for her efforts, Kate was forced to return home and begin working once again at the family diner, which was still going strong.
Now thirty-one, she is not quite as ambitious as she once was, but is still determined to somehow prove to people that she didn't waste her time and money in University. Washing dishes and serving food isn't where she had planned on being at this stage in her life, but she knows that there are opportunities hidden in Metropolis....and she's going to find them, one way or another.
