Personality: Logan revolves around the mystery of his life. He lives with some very unusual circumstances in that he doesn't remember his life or his influences yet he still carries a distinct persona. This persona is centered around instinct. He is a man who defines himself as a fighter. He doesn't shy away from battles and he doesn't take kindly to anybody getting in his way. This gives him very anti-social traits that make it difficult for him to form relationships and make friends. As a result, he is a loner who often does his own thing.
Chief among this aspect of his psychology is his anger. Because he is so driven by instinct, he is quick to anger and has little aversion to violence. Some of this may also stem from being able to heal. Whereas the traditional instincts of fight or flight hold strong in everyone, most are biologically wired to avoid battles wherever possible so as to avoid damage to the body or environment. But Logan does not have to worry about such damage. His body is durable enough to heal from nearly any wound and because of this, he is much more prone to fighting and violence. Couple this with his powerful instincts and he becomes almost predatory in nature, ferociously seeking out his enemies while protecting what few resources he has left.
The effects of Weapon X on his character cannot be understated. While his anti-social personality was well-defined beforehand, Weapon X only made it worse by treating him as a test subjecting and putting him through the painful processes of adamantium bonding and memory wiping. This process further robbed him of his humanity and he became very much the Wolverine that identifies him. His ability to escape and resist Weapon X highlight a powerful desire to not be controlled, which can be both a natural reaction and an extension of his loner persona. His predatory character also helps push him to seeking vengeance on those who wrong him rather than run away. The more he is treated as an animal, the more enraged he becomes. It shows in his distinct "berserker rage" where instinct nearly completely takes over and his violence drives him even further into madness.
However, while Logan has a great many anti-social traits and predatory instincts, he is not without humanity. A major strength of his character is that while he is constnatly being ripped away from everything that makes him human, he still retains it. This implies that he has a naturally strong sense of humanity, something that is often innate and prompted by those with high self-awareness. Logan does seem to care that he is turning into a monster and doesn't like it. So he does resist becoming what Weapon X is turning him into. It can also be implied that the furious predatory instinct is at odds with his instinct as a fighter. He has no problems being a fighter, but it's being an animal that he despises and in this struggle he seeks a balance between his humanity and his instinct.
In many ways him joining the X-men reflects his desire to rebuild what was taken from him. It shows that while he's often adverse to relationships, he will still respond to those who reach out to him and like his predatory instinct to protect what little he has he will show a strong loyalty to those few people he deems friends.
"With great power comes great responsibility"
Powers:
· Regenerative Healing Factor: Wolverine's primary mutant power is an accelerated healing process that enables him to regenerate damaged or destroyed tissue with far greater efficiency than an ordinary human. He can regenerate great damaged or destroyed tissue with few seconds.Wolverine's accelerated healing powers have been commonly referred to as his mutant healing factor. The full extent and speed of Wolverine's healing factor isn't known. He has been shown to fully heal from numerous gunshot wounds, severe burns covering most of his body, and regenerate missing eyes within a matter of seconds. Among the more extreme depictions of his accelerated healing factor involves him having his skin, muscles, and internal organs incinerated from his skeleton only to fully regenerate the tissue within minutes. Adamantium plays a crucial role in the speed of Wolverine's healing as well because of the fact that it produces a poison that his immune system fights off regularly. It is said that without the adamantium, his healing rate increases. This power even amends psychological wounds inflicted as a result of traumatic experiences. However, Wolverine's healing powers force his mind to suppress the memories, sometimes resulting in amnesia. Wolverine sometimes calls this his mental scar tissue. Wolverine healing factor has cured him from mystical curse of the Werewolf after he had been bitten and turned into a werewolf and from vampirism, though it should be noted that the time it took to cure the Werewolf curse was longer than the time it took to cure him from vampirism.
· Foreign Chemical Immunity: Wolverine's natural healing also affords him the virtual immunity to poisons and most drugs, except in massive doses. For example, it is extremely difficult for him to become intoxicated from alcohol.
· Immunity To Disease: Wolverine's highly efficient immune system, which is part of his accelerated healing factor, renders him immune against all known Earthly diseases and infections.
· Superhumanly Acute Senses: Wolverine possesses superhumanly acute senses that are comparable to those of certain animals. He can see at far greater distances, with perfect clarity, than an ordinary human. He retains this same level of clarity even in near total darkness. His hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, allowing him to detect sounds ordinary humans couldn't hear at a greater distances, enough to hear a teardrop in another room that have thick walls with enough focus. He is able to recognize people and objects by scent, even if they are well hidden. He can track a target by scent, even if the scent has been greatly eroded by time and weather factors, with an extraordinary degree of success. Wolverine can also use his keen sense of smell to detect lies due to chemical changes within a person's scent. These senses stem from, at least partially, his constant cellular regeneration, as are his enhanced physical capabilities.
· Superhuman Strength: Wolverine's mutant healing factor enables him to push his muscles beyond the natural limits of the human body without injury, granting him some degree of superhuman strength. His natural strength is augmented by the demand placed on his musculature due to the presence of over 100 pounds of Adamantium bonded to his skeleton, which also removes the natural limitations of the human skeletal structure by allowing him to lift weights that would damage a human skeleton. Wolverine has been depicted with sufficient strength to break steel chains, support the weight of a dozen men with one arm and lift the 955 lb Ursa Major over his head before tossing him across a room. Wolverine's strength is enough to allow him to press somewhere in excess of 800 lbs but no more than 2 tons.
· Superhuman Stamina: Wolverine's mutant healing factor grants him high immunity against lactic acid and other fatigue toxins generated by his muscles during physical activity. Wolverine can sustain himself at peak capacity for several days. Wolverine has shown himself capable of fighting Arkady Rossovich (Omega Red) for over 24 hours, despite regular exposure to Omega Red's death spores. His lung capacity is at peak human level enabling him to hold breath for 6 minutes under water, making his lungs as healthy as human's lungs can get.
· Superhuman Agility: Wolverine's agility, balance and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels far beyond the natural physical limits and capabilities of the finest human specimen. Wolverine's agility is sufficient to allow him to dodge multiple bullets. Other times, able to jump extremely high and evade several yards.
· Superhuman Reflexes: Wolverine's reflexes are similarly enhanced, they are also superior to those possessed by the finest human specimen and are equal to the likes of Steve Rogers' (Captain America) due to his superhumanly acute senses, although most of the time he relies highly on his regenerative healing factor.
· Insulated Weather Adaptation: Wolverine's body is highly resistant to certain elemental extremes, particularly cold, to the extent that he can sleep nude in subarctic conditions with no apparent injury.
· Delayed Aging: In addition, Wolverine's healing factor provides him with an extended lifespan by slowing the effects of the aging process. Wolverine was born sometime during the late 19th Century. Although well over 100 years of age, Wolverine retains the health, appearance and physical vitality of a man in the physical prime of his life.
· Animal Empathy: Wolverine has the ability to sense the emotional state of animals on a basic level such as fear, anger, happiness or pain. He can even communicate with them to make the animal aware of his actions and or his intent.
· Bone Claws: Wolverine's skeleton includes six retractable 12-inch long bone claws, three in each arm, that are housed beneath the skin and muscle of his forearms. Wolverine can, at will, release these slightly curved claws through his skin beneath the knuckles on each hand. The skin between the knuckles tears and bleeds, but the blood loss is quickly halted by his healing factor. Wolverine can unsheathe any number of his claws at once, although he must keep his wrists straight at the moment his claws pass from his forearms into his hands. When unsheathed, the claws are entirely within his hands, allowing him to bend his wrists when they are extended. The claws are made of bone, unlike the claws of normal mammals which are made of keratin, and were originally believed to be bionic adamantium implants. Like his son Daken, the bone claws are sharp and dense enough to slice through substances as durable as most metals, wood, and stone.
· Psionic Resistance: Wolverine reveals that his mind is highly resistant to telepathic probing and assault due to the high level psionic shields implanted in his mind by Professor Charles Xavier.
Weapons
Throughout his life, Wolverine has used a variety of bladed weapons, most frequently daggers and, at times, swords; as a samurai, he is especially skilled with the katana. He has also wielded many different types of firearms throughout his careers as a soldier, a mercenary, and a spy. While he is highly skilled with firearms and because of his perfect eyesight it is very difficult for him miss when firing a gun, he has stated on multiple occasions that he isn't fond of them and prefers to use bladed weapons, but his favorite weapon is his claws.
Strengths/Abilities:
· Master Tactician: Though seemingly brutish, Wolverine is highly intelligent. When Forge monitored Wolverine's vitals during a Danger Room training session, he reported Logan's physical and mental state as "equivalent to an Olympic-level gymnast performing a Gold-medal-winning routine whilst simultaneously beating four chess computers in his head", which gives something of an idea of the level of sophistication and tactical processing Logan is capable of utilizing while in combat. He remembers Ogun teaching him Sun Tzu's The Art of War.
· Master Martial Artist: Due to his extensive training as a soldier, a CIA operative, a samurai and a member of the X-Men, Logan is an exceptional martial artist and has mastered all areas of combat including hand-to-hand and various weapons. His extraordinary hand-to-hand combat ability makes him one of the finest combatants on Earth.
· Expert Marksman: He is an expert marksman skilled in throwing weapons and firearms, but operates more efficiently without them.
· Expert Swordsman: Logan is proficient in Japanese sword fighting having studied under Ogun.
· Skilled Acrobat: He is skilled in gymnastics, acrobatics and aerials, but is not on the same scale as other fighters such as Captain America and Daredevil.
· Advanced Covert Ops Expert: Due to his experience traveling the world and working for various government agencies, Wolverine is also a trained expert in multiple types of weapons, vehicles, computer systems, explosives, and assassination techniques. In the Weapon X comic he said: I can put six shots into a quarter... an' get change for the gum-machine.
· Skilled Mechanic: Along with Kurt Wagner (Nightcrawler), Wolverine has also been the mechanic of the X-Men's Blackbird jet for a long time.
· Multi-lingual: A polyglot; Wolverine is fluent in many languages including English, Arabic, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Cheyenne, Lakota, and Spanish; he has some knowledge of French, German, Thai, Vietnamese, Farsi and Portuguese. Ogun taught him Japanese ideograms.
Weaknesses:
· Muramasa Blade: Wolverine's only specific vulnerability known to date. Created by having his soul infused into the katana, the efficiency of his mutant healing factor is decreased dramatically if he sustains injury from the Muramasa Blade. Wolverine has been wounded once with the blade and, though the injury was very minor, it did not heal completely for 2 days.
· Carbonadium Digestion: Wolverine's healing factor is also affected, though to a far less degree, if he ingests Carbonadium.
· Wolverine's only other "weakness" is the fact that his heightened senses can be taken advantage of. For instance, when he was fighting the Bruce Banner (Hulk), he was nearly killed by the Hulk's thunder claps due to his heightened sense of hearing.
· Decapitation/Severe Spinal Damage: Professor X once stated that Wolverine could be killed if his head becomes separated from his body, causing his brain the inability to send signals to the section(s) of his body that needs healing. But because of the addition of his adamantium-laced skeleton, the idea seems very unlikely.
· Adamantium Poisoning: Adamantium has proven to secrete poison which stunts Wolverine's healing factor and feral rage by a very small degree. Even though he has it laced throughout his entire body it has not made a significant change in his abilities. However, the poisoning will endanger Wolverine's life if his healing factor fails on him, such as when an inhibitor field cancels out his mutant powers.
· Adamantium Allotropes: Adamantium has thirteen different allotropes (variants) that are very unstable compared to adamantium because of their different molecular configurations and thus physical properties. Some have caused Wolverine to become dizzy or weak just by being in close contact with these adamantium specimens.
· Wolverine himself stated that shooting him to the sun, using a magnet to keep him at the bottom of the ocean, reality benders, Nimrod and going back in time and killing one of his parents can kill him.

History: A mysterious man by nature, very little is known about Logan's past. Even Logan himself isn't sure where he came from or how he got to where he is. He isn't even sure if Logan is his real name, but it is the only alias he knows. He has no recollection of his childhood, but he knows he was born in Canada. He has no recollection of his parents or family either. His entire childhood and teenage years are a mystery and no records exist to offer insight into this period. However, there is firm documentation that he fought in World War II as part of Canadian Special Forces. Logan himself has a vague recollection of this time. Of those memories, many of them include an equally ferocious figure named Victor Creed. His memory of this man is not nearly as shrouded. The two of them were in the same Special Forces unit during the war. However, events that are not entirely clear caused a major rift between them and the two men became mortal enemies. The reasons behind this hatred are unknown, but it is a hatred that stems deep for both men.
After the war, Logan's memories becomes far more shrouded. He does seem to recall staying in Special Forces. He also recalls his team from World War II continuing various missions in the earliest days of the Cold War. It is during this time that his life as he knows it becomes completely erased. Shortly after World War II, a secretive advanced weapons program was established by the American and Canadian governments. This program, known only as Weapon X, sought to take mutants and turn them into obedient, durable, unstoppable killing machines. The main figures behind it included an ambitious scientist named Abraham Cornelius and an aspiring young officer named Major John Wraith. They were the ones that put together the inital operation, doing research out of a series of secret bases in Canada. The bulk of their research was to make a man more durable through a process that would bond adamantium to his bones and then remove all personality and fre will from his mind to make him obedient. Both Logan and Victor Creed were the first test subjects. It is unclear whether they volunteered or were coerced, but they both shared the dubious honor of being the first successful.
Of the few memories Logan has, the experience of the adamantium bonding process are by far the most vivid. He hauntingly recalls in his nightmares being suspended in a bio tube with wires going into his body. From there, he endured the excruciating process that bonded adamantium to his bones. The process was so painful it twisted his mind, filling him with rage and hatred. His healing factor kept him alive. While the bonding process was successful, his memory wipe was not. Cornelius and his team were able to succeed in most respects in removing his memories, but before they could tame him Logan fought back. He broke free from his captors, killed everyone in sight, and ran off into the Canadian wilderness.
What happened in the years that followed is unclear. Logan has no memories of any part of his life after the bonding process. Weapon X removed any personal documentation of his life and near as he can tell, he became a wandering drifter. While Weapon X may have been damaged, Wraith and Cornelius survived the experience and never stopped hunting Logan. It isn't fully clear what happened during these years on the run, but it is clear that at some point Weapon X did catch up with Logan and they did re-capture him. The memories become even more vague for Logan during this time. He does recall being tested and trained like an animal, having to hunt down targets in extreme conditions while wearing a special head visor. As far as he knows Weapon X had him under their thumb, but once again he escaped. The details on this are less clear. It appears that Weapon X was still unable to control him. Now more enraged and twisted than ever, Logan shifted his focus from running away to hunting down all those responsible for Weapon X. This search went on for years with only minor progress.
Eventually, his search landed him in the grasp of Weapon X again. Only this time, the X-men were there to help him get away. While twisted and deeply scarred by his experience, Professor Charles Xavier offered to help him rebuild the life Weapon X took from him. Logan refused at first, but with some heavy coaxing by Jean Grey he eventually came around. He has since started rebuilding his life and his humanity as a combat instructor at the Xavier Institute and an X-man.

Logan was away from X-Mansion at the moment and was spending some time alone at a bar not so far away. Being a loner as usual, Logan sat at the barstool minding his own business trying to strike up his cigar. He clicked his old lighter against his cigar, swearing around the butt of it as the thing failed to spark. “Piece of crap,” Logan grumbled, half tempted to use his claws as a ‘flint’. He decided to put his lighter back into his black leather jacket, while chewing at the butt of his cigar, before taking it away and sipping on his beer.
It had been a long day, and this was the best way for Logan to relax, having a cold beer and a cigar to smoke on, though he was saving the cigar for later. It wouldn't be long until he would have to return back to X-Mansion for the night. “One more beer and I'm done for the night,” Logan grumbled to the bartender who served him another beer. After finishing up his beer, he paid the bartender, then stood up from the barstool about to leave. “Keep the change,” Logan told the bartender.
Suddenly, Logan started to sniff, his nose reacting to the scent that he picked up from the air. It was coming from outside the bar, one that Logan didn't like. Smelled like trouble, so he quickly exited the bar to find a group of mercenaries sent to capture him. The reason being was unknown, but it certainly had to do with the fact Logan was a mutant, and a dangerous one indeed. This wasn't the first time Logan had to deal with mercenaries, and it probably wouldn't be the last, but for right now, Logan was pissed off. “The world is suffering and mutants like you are to blame. You all plague the world like a disease, and I'm the cure. Humankind will be better off when all mutants shall exist no more. All mutants must die, that is my mission, my ultimate goal, and it starts with you,” The leader of the group informed Logan.
“You all must be a bunch of stupid assholes coming to pick a fight with someone like me. I'm the worst mutant you could have picked and you're about to find that out, bub,” Wolverine grunted, as his razor sharp claws appeared ready to hack-and-slash these mercenaries. A fight ensued between Wolverine and the group of mercenaries, with Wolverine getting the upper hand slashing faces, stabbing some unlucky mercenary bastards, while kicking ass over all in a beserker rage. This was like practice to the skillful, experienced fighting mutant like Wolverine, as he dropped them like flies. The last one standing was the leader of the group who was stunned by Wolverine's viciousness. A lot of it had to do with him protecting the students at Xavier's Institute, because the last thing they needed was a group of mutant killers trying to cause them more problems then they already had.
Wolverine sprung over grabbing a hold of the leader's throat, and was about to stab his throat, but before he could, to Wolverine's surprise, the leader teleported far away from him. Wolverine did not expect that to happen, and was left there pissed off, whle wondering who the hell that was. Not to mention that the leader of the now dead mercenaries was a mutant after all his talk of humankind being better of without mutants. Logan had a lot of question swirling around in his mind about this confrontation, and was confused on the mutants plan, but he quickly climbed on his motorcycle, then drove away into the night back to X-Mansion.
